HELP FROM ON HIGH.
Lord, save the unconverted, and bring out, we pray [implore] Thee, from among them, those who are converted, but who have not [publicly] confessed Christ. May the Church be built up by many who, having believed, are baptized unto the sacred name [of Jesus Christ]. We pray Thee to go on and multiply the faithful in the land. Oh! that Thou wouldst [would] turn the hearts of men to the gospel [of Jesus Christ] once more.
Thy servant is [I am] often very heavy in heart because of the departures from the faith.

Oh! bring them back; let not Satan take away any more of the stars with his tail, but may the lamps of God shine bright.
Oh! Thou that walkest amongst [walks among] the seven golden candlesticks, trim [adjust] the flame, pour forth the oil, and let the light shine brightly and steadily.

Now, Lord, we cannot pray any longer, though we have a thousand things to ask for. Thy servant cannot, so he begs [I beg] to leave a broken prayer at the mercy seat with this at the foot [end] of it:
That we ask for these and all other blessings in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, Amen.

[John Michael’s Dad, Charles Dumah Riley Sr. called “Paw-Paw” by all grandchildren who were blessed to know him always heard Paw-Paw’s prayer before every meal:

“Accept our thanks for these and all other blessings, we humbly ask in thy name, Amen”.

Paw-Paw’s last words before leaving earth witnessed by his youngest son John Michael was the continual repetition of a one word prayer; Amen, Amen, Amen… ]

I remember conversing with a person, who was concerned in one of the great speculations [stock market investing] which brought loss and ruin to many, and as I looked into his honest face and heard his open-hearted talk, I said to myself, “This is not a man who is capable of robbery. He is a plain, blunt, farmer-like sort of a man, who might even be the victim of the confidence “tricks”.
I afterward learned that this is the usual style of a man who puffs [exaggerates the value of] a company, or betrays a trust. Of course, if a man looks like a thief, you button up your pockets, and smile if he invites you to take [buy] shares; but you are off your guard when the man appears to be the embodiment of simple honesty.

There is a heritage of grace which we ought to be bold enough to win for our own possession [for ourselves]. All that one believer has gained is free to another. We may be strong in faith, fervent in love, and abundant in labor; there is nothing to prevent it; let us go up and take possession.

The sweetest experience and the brightest grace are as much for us as for any of our brethren, Jehovah has set it before us; no one can deny our right; let us go up and possess it in His name.

The world also lies before us to be conquered for the Lord Jesus. We are not to leave any country or corner of it un-subdued. That slum near our house is before us, not to baffle our endeavors, but to yield to them.

We have only to summon courage enough to go forward, and we shall win dark homes and hard hearts for Jesus. Let us never leave the people in a lane or alley to die because we have not enough faith in Jesus and His gospel to go up and possess the land. No spot is too benighted [dark], no person so profane as to be beyond the power of grace.
Cowardice, be-gone! Faith marches to the conquest. [Faith wins!]

Prayer: Thank You, Lord God You have said to us Behold, the Lord thy God who hath set the land before thee: go up and possess it, because the Lord God of thy fathers hath said unto thee;

fear not, neither be discouraged-

"Watchman, what of the night?"—Isaiah 21:11

WHAT enemies are abroad? [all around you ?] Errors are a numerous horde [a large mob], and new ones appear every hour: against what heresy [false doctrine] am I to be on my guard? Sins creep from their lurking places when the darkness reigns;

I must myself mount
the watchtower, and watch unto prayer. Our heavenly Protector foresees all the attacks which are about to be made on us, and when the evil designed us is only in the desire of Satan, He [Jesus] prays for us that our faith fail not, when we are sifted as wheat. Continue, 0 gracious Watchman, to forewarn us of our foes [enemies], and for Zion's sake, hold not your peace [don’t remain quiet].

What weather is coming for the Church? Are the clouds lowering, or is it all clear and fair [sunny] overhead? We must care for the Church of God with anxious [earnest] love; and now that Popery [teaching from the Pope] and infidelity are both threatening, let us observe the signs of the times and prepare for conflict.

“Watchman, what of the night?”

What stars are visible? What precious promises suit our present case? You sound the alarm—give us the consolation also.

Christ, the pole star [nearest to the North Pole], is ever fixed in His place, and all the stars are secure in the right hand of their Lord.

But watchman, when comes the morning? [when will the morning come] The Bridegroom tarries [isn’t here yet]. Are there no signs of His coming forth as the Sun of Righteousness?

Has not the morning star arisen as the pledge of day? When will the day dawn, and the shadows flee away?

0 Jesus, if You come not in person to your waiting Church this day, yet come in Spirit to my sighing heart, and make it sing for joy.

Now all the earth is bright and glad
With the fresh morn;
But all my heart is cold, and dark and sad:
Sun of the soul, let me behold Thy dawn!
Come, Jesus, Lord,

EVENING August 6
"Let the whole earth be filled with His glory; Amen, and Amen. " —Psalm 72:19

THIS is a large petition. To intercede for [pray on behalf of] a whole city needs a stretch of faith, and there are times when a prayer for one man is enough to stagger us. But how far-reaching was the psalmist's dying intercession! How comprehensive! How sublime!
"Let the whole earth be filled with His glory." It does not exempt a single country however crushed by the foot of superstition; it does not exclude a single nation however barbarous [unenlightened]. For the cannibal as well as for the civilized, for all climes [climates] and races this prayer is uttered: it encompasses the whole circle of the earth and omits no son of Adam [doesn’t leave anybody out].
We must be up and doing for [serving] our Master, or we cannot honestly offer such a prayer. The petition is not asked with a sincere heart unless we endeavor, as God shall help us, to extend the kingdom of our Master.
Are there not some who neglect both to plead and to labor?

Reader, is it your prayer? Turn your eyes to Calvary [the cross]. Behold the Lord of Life nailed to a cross, with the thorny crown about His brow [forehead], with bleeding head and hands and feet.
What! Can you look on this miracle of miracles, the death of the Son of God, without feeling within your bosom [heart] a marvelous adoration that language never can express? And when you feel the blood [of Jesus Christ] applied to your conscience, and know that He has blotted out your sins, you are not a man unless you start from [fall to] your knees and cry, "Let the whole earth be filled with His glory; Amen, and Amen."

Can you bow before the Crucified in loving homage [respect, reverence and honor], and not wish to see your Monarch [King] [as] master of the world?
Shame on you if you can pretend to love your Prince, and desire not to see Him [as] the universal ruler. Your piety is worthless unless it leads you to wish that the same mercy which has been extended to you may bless the whole world.

Lord, it is harvest time; put in Your sickle and reap.


A SINNER’S PRAYER: … FOR WHOSOEVER: [For One and all]

Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21
Call on the name of the Lord Jesus and be saved … pray like this, won’t you?

“Lord Jesus, I’m a lost sinner and without You I am hopeless. I can’t save myself. Without your death on the cross for my sin debt I would be condemned to spend eternity condemned to Hell. I have been self-centered from birth. Please forgive me.
I realize that doing my best, being as good as possible, or being better than other people can never save me. . I’m guilty and sorry for each and every sin I have done and look to You to forgive me of them all.
I look to You, alone Lord Jesus to save me.
I call on You, Lord Jesus, right now to save me. You died on the cross for me, because of my sin and You say, “It shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21.

Right now, just as I am, I call on You, Lord Jesus to save me, I trust You, to be my Lord and Savior from now on.
Thank You, Lord Jesus, that You have forgiven me of all my sins. I ask You to abide in me and give me the desire to always follow You.
You paid the price for all of my sins by dying on the cross. Even the sins of the whole world.
Thank you, Lord Jesus that You loved me and died for me even before I was born and that You still love me now. I love You too.

Thank you, Heavenly Father, that You have called me away from sin and death into the Life everlasting in Your only begotten son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Thank You, Heavenly Father that you raised Jesus from the dead. He is ALIVE and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave. Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. [Holy Ghost, Comforter, Spirit of Truth]

Thank You for saving me heavenly Father. With all my heart, thank you Father for saving me in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Allow us to share the joy of your new birth with heaven. Won’t you? Heaven rejoices over each redeemed sinner. Luke 15:7

In defense of the Masoretic Hebrew of the Old Testament and the GreekTextus Receptus:

The Incomplete and unsealed codices of Sinaiticus and Vaticanus are not translated from the majority texts, [Original Masoretic Hebrew and the Greek Textus Receptus]. Sinaiticus and Vaticanus present variant, ambiguous and erroneous readings rather than that of the well-established and settled texts. They disagree often with one another as well as with the settled majority texts. Thus, an attempt to create a pretext that will continue to justify a never-ending demand for additional editions and interpretations. These unsettled differences and bias in certain sectarian doctrine [dogma] have led to the production of multiple “modern” editions with ambiguities, many variant readings and confusion from the explosion of unending, new editions.
Profit-driven publishers have embraced such an economic windfall to sell a continual flow of “new and better” English edition of The Bible. They give too little attention to the fidelity and accuracy already settled [in heaven] in majority manuscripts of the Masoretic Hebrew and the Greek Textus Receptus.

The above link is to search for specific words or Scriptures in the King James inerrant and infallible English Version (KJV) because it is providentially protected and preserved by GOD Himself through the only translation into English by faithful brethren from the 5,312 established majority text manuscripts MT from which the New Testament Greek Textus Receptus [received text] was taken and the Hebrew Masoretic Text of the Old Testament (Jewish Tanakh). These manuscripts are providentially protected, and frequently give greater glory to God when compared to variant readings of all modern translations from Modern Critical Texts based on only 55 hand picked inferior Greek manuscripts fabricated from either Westcott and Hort or Nestle and Aland. Both of these Greek textual sources follow an assumption that OLDER IS BETTER. Of course, this assumption is not valid if the older manuscripts contain error.

In 1870, The Anglican Church of England passed a resolution to revise the English Bible. The New Testament revision committee which finally consisted of 25 scholars (though only about 16 eventually attended the meetings) which included Westcott and Hort. The committee worked for ten years in the Jerusalem chamber, and these two scholars swept the Revision Committee along with them after work commenced. In fact, the “Cambridge trio” (Westcott, Hort and Lightfoot) colluded with others to dominate the meetings with their views of the text and to defeat any who opposed them. Their *letters reveal this conspiracy:

The only voice defending the Textus Receptus was Dr Scrivener, probably the foremost scholar of the day in the manuscripts of the Greek New Testament and the history of the Text. But he was systematically outvoted by the Cambridge trio and outdone by Hort’s powerful debating skill. When the revision was completed, the revision committee had altered the Greek Text in 5,337 places,
thus violating the original rule that had been set for the committee of not altering the Greek Text unless absolutely necessary to do so.

CONCLUSION
In conclusion, let it be said that no matter how good any modern version of the New Testament is in other ways, it is clearly blemished if the work of Westcott and Hort is present in it. The presence of their work means that it is based on a defective text. Those who want to honor the Word of God must not promote the use of any of these versions by the church, not because the content of the version is entirely evil in itself, but because being contented to use a weakened version rather than the existing, preserved, without error unblemished one, dishonors God. If God has preserved for His people a good Greek text of the New Testament for 18 centuries, how dishonoring it would be to Him if His people now chose instead to use versions that are based on defective Greek manuscript created by Westcott & Hort or Nestle & Aland.
