PRAYER 13, Part 5 of 11 THE WINGS OF PRAYER.

       

Lord, Thou knowest [know] there are some that have not yet begun to live for Thee, and the prayer is now offered that they may today be born again. Others have been long in Thy ways, and are not weary of them. We sometimes wonder that Thou art not weary [tired] of us, but assuredly we delight ourselves in the ways of holiness more than ever we did. Oh! that our ways were directed to keep Thy statutes without slip or flaw. We wish [pray] we were perfectly obedient in thought, and word, and deed, entirely sanctified. We shall never be satisfied till we wake up in Christ’s likeness, the likeness of perfection itself.  Oh! work us to this self-same thing, we beseech [lmplore] Thee.

ANECDOTE 84:  Christ Bringing Men Back.
       Ah! we cannot always tell when we are driving poor souls away from Christ.
Often, when we think we are wooing we are driving them away; when we would be winning to the Savior, some harsh expression of ours frightens sinners away from him. Ah! poor soul, hast thou been driven away?  Dost thou [Do you] understand and sympathize with what I have said?  Before I knew the Lord, I could declare that I was driven away.

       Once, under a powerful sermon, my heart shook within me, and was dissolved in the midst of my bowels [the pit of my stomach]; I thought I would seek the Lord, and I bowed my knee and wrestled, and poured out my heart before him. I ventured within his sanctuary to hear his word, hoping that in some favored hour he would send a precious promise to my consolation; but, ah! that wretched [horrible] afternoon I heard a sermon wherein Christ was not;  I had no longer any hope. I would have sipped at [drunk from] that fountain, but I was driven away; I felt that I would have believed in Christ, and I longed and sighed for him.

         But, ah ! that dreadful sermon and those dreadful things that were uttered; my poor soul knew not what was truth, or what was error; but I thought the man was surely preaching the truth, and I was driven back. I dared not go, I could not believe, I could not lay hold on Christ; I was shut out, if no one else was. 

 

       Is there some one [reading] here who has been driven away? I may have done it, and I will weep before God in secret on account of it. But let me cheer you. Hear this : 

“I will bring again that which was driven away.” As surely as you ever did come once you will be brought back again; that heavenly hour shall once more return; that blessed day shall dawn afresh [come back]; Christ shall appear, and his love and mercy shall be bestowed on [given to] you. He has drawn [attracted] you once and he will draw [attract] you again, for God never fails. He may, for wise ends and purposes, suffer [allow] you to be driven away once; but he will ultimately bring you to himself, for he has said,

 

“I will bring again that which was driven away.”

GODLY STABILITY
 

-And I will make thee unto this people a fenced brazen [of brass] wall: and they shall fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee to save thee and to deliver thee, saith the Lord-   Jeremiah 15:20
       Stability in the fear and faith of God will make a man like a wall of brass, which no one can batter down or break. Only the Lord can make such; but we need such men in the church, and in the world, but specially in the pulpit.

       Against uncompromising men of truth this age of shams will fight tooth and nail. Nothing seems to offend Satan and his seed like decision. They attack holy firmness even as the Assyrians besieged fenced cities. 

 

       The joy is that they cannot prevail against those whom God has made strong in His strength.

 

       [Those that are] Carried about with every wind of doctrine [every popular idea that comes along], [they] only need to be blown upon, and away they go; but those who love the doctrines of grace, because they possess the grace of the doctrines, stand like rocks in the midst of raging seas.  Whence this stability? [From where does this stability come?] 

 

        -I am with thee, saith [says] the Lord-:  that is the true answer. Jehovah will save and deliver faithful souls from all the assaults of the adversary. Hosts [armies] are against us, but the Lord of hosts [all powerful, omnipotent God] is with us. We dare not budge an inch; for the Lord Himself holds us in our place, and there we will abide forever.

Prayer: Thank You dear Lord that You make us, to stand firm against the world, like a brass wall to protect your people. This holy firmness is wholly because You are with us.  I believe this promise of strength and holding power Lord Jesus, in Your name, Amen.

      God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten [supernaturally fathered] Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but may be having eternal life.

John 3:16  vis. Textus Receptus [The Received Greek Text] (The overwhelming majority of extant New Testament Greek texts.)

 

vis. The Textus Receptus TR [Received Text] was faithfully rendered and was in substantial agreement with the overwhelming majority of 5,321 extant Greek manuscripts  of the New Testament known as the  MT. [Majority Text] from which the Textus Recptus was compiled. The Hebrew  manuscripts were meticulously copied by hand [manuscript] by the Masoretic  scribes of the Old Testament. Sinaiticus and Vaticanus codices are not of comparable quality as   they are often found to be in disagreement with one another. They have been combined with invented Greek m

 

Never-the-less, a mere Fifty-five 55 manuscripts from the 5,321 were hand-picked from  these compromised codices containing multiple  variant readings and were set forth in modern textual criticism ostensibly to explain the need  for an alternative Greek text from the Textus Receptus that was for many years under attack by  Westcott & Hort and Nestle & Aland who invented but did not disclose themselves as the source  of their new Greek translation. They insisted on a code of silence as to the authorship of the Greek Text  from which all the Revisions were to be made from all members of the committee who were making revisions to the King James Bible.

 

Modern textual criticism is based on the  false assumption that older manuscripts are, de-facto, better. Actually, the unsettled changes from the variant readings reflect doctrinal ambiguities and are sometimes used to bolster doctrine that is  unsupported in scripture of a secular or denominational tradition or to allow blasphemous  translations to  diminish God’s Sovereignty, Omnipotence, Omnipresence, Immutability, Inerrancy or Infallibility and to rob Glory from His infinite and everlasting “I AM” that is deserving of ALL GLORY.

       WITHOUT sap the tree cannot flourish or even exist. Vitality is essential to a Christian. There must be life—a vital principle infused into us by God the Holy Ghost [Holy Spirit], or we cannot be trees of the Lord.

 

       The mere name of Christian is but a dead thing; we must be filled with the Spirit of divine life. This life is mysteri­ous. We do not understand the circulation of the sap, by what force it rises and by what power it descends again. So, the life within us is a sacred mystery. Regeneration is wrought [done] by the Holy Ghost [Holy Spirit]  entering-into man and be­coming man's life; and this divine life in a believer af­terwards feeds on the flesh and blood of [Jesus] Christ and is thus sustained [nourished] by divine food, but whence [where] it comes [from] and whither [where] it goes [to] who shall explain to us? What a secret thing the sap is!

 

       The roots go searching through the soil, but we cannot see them suck out the various gases or transmute the mineral into the vegetable [plant]; this work is done down in the dark. Our root is Christ Jesus, and our life is hid in Him; this is the secret of the Lord. The radix [root] of the Christian life is as secret as the life itself. How permanently active is the sap in the cedar! In the Christian the divine life is always full of energy—not always in fruit-bearing, but in inward operations.

       [As to] The believer's graces, are not [aren’t] every one of them in constant motion? But his life never ceases to palpitate [pulsate with life] within. He is not always working for God, but his heart is always living on Him [God].

       As the sap manifests itself in producing the foliage and fruit of the tree, so with a truly healthy Christian, his grace is externally manifested in his walk and conversation. If you talk with him, he cannot help speaking about Jesus. If you notice his actions you will see that he has been with Jesus.

 

He has so much sap within, that it must fill his conduct and conversation with life.

EVENING    October 24

"He began to wash the disciples' feet. "— John 13:5

      THE Lord Jesus loves His people so much, that every day He is still doing much for them that is analo­gous to washing their soiled [dirty] feet.

Their poorest actions He accepts;

their deepest sorrow He feels;

their slen­derest wish [smallest prayer] He hears, and

their every transgression He forgives.

 

        He is still their servant as well as their Friend and Master. He not only performs majestic deeds for them, [such] as wearing the miter [headdress of the high priest engraved with “Holiness to the Lord”] on His brow, and the pre­cious jewels glittering on His breastplate, and standing up to plead for them, but humbly, patiently, He yet goes about among His people with the basin [bowl] and the towel.

 

       He does this day by day when He puts our constant infirmities and sins away from us. Last night, when you bowed the knee [prayed], you mournfully confessed that much of your conduct was not worthy of your profession of Christianity; and even tonight, you must mourn afresh that you have fallen again into the selfsame folly and sin from which special grace delivered you long ago. And yet Jesus will have great patience with you; He will hear your confession of sin; He will say, "I will , be thou clean"; He will again apply the blood of sprinkling, and speak peace to your conscience and remove every spot. It is a great act of eternal love when Christ once for all absolves the sinner and puts him into the family of God; but what condescending patience there is when the Savior with much long-suffering bears the oft [often] recurring follies [besetting sin] of His wayward disciple; day by day, and hour by hour, washing away the multiplied transgressions of His erring but yet beloved child! To dry up a flood of rebellion is something marvelous, but to endure the constant dripping of repeated offenses, to bear with a perpetual [continual] trying of patience—this is divine indeed! While we find comfort and peace in our Lord's daily cleansing, its legitimate influence on us will be to in­crease our watchfulness, and quicken our desire for holiness.

 

 Is it so?

            

                  A  SINNER’S  PRAYER

Whosoever shall call on the name of the lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21

 Pray and call on the name of the Lord Jesus, like this. Won’t you? 

“Lord Jesus, I’m a sinner. I’m lost and hopeless to save myself. Without you and your blood that was shed for me and Your death on the cross  I would spend eternity in Hell’s fire.

Thank you Lord Jesus that You love me and died for me before I was born and that You have always loved me and will never reject or turn your back on me. I know You are the Way, the Truth and the Life and that no one can come to the Father but by You.  

Thank you, Father that You have caused for me to see myself as I am; a lost sinner.  But,  because of Your love and goodness, You have made a way and given me the desire to come to You, to turn away from my sin and to trust in You, Lord Jesus.  You took my place on the cross and provided the way for  me to be forgiven. Thank You.
Thank You that You prompted a desire in me to believe in You, the only begotten  Son of God who died on the cross to be the sacrifice that would  atone for my sins.

Thank You, Father for Your love that allowed Jesus to suffer and die in my place. Thank You that You raised Jesus from the dead. He is RISEN and is ALIVE and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave and in Christ Jesus I am free.

You raised Jesus from the dead, gave Him a Glorified body and after he was seen by many witnesses on earth You took Him up to reign with You  in heaven.  

Thank you, Father,  for saving me in the name, of Your only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

His ministry continues to flourish from the original (Spurgeon’s)  Metropolitan Tabernacle,  a church fellowship began in 1650 with the present  building constructed by members of the congregation in 1861 and rebuilt after the second world war..

        Spurgeon's written materials are for the edification of the church body as well as a great benefit, blessing and challenge to all readers. God has preserved His Word through  The Masoretic Hebrew and Aramaic languages of the Old Testament and the GreekTextus Receptus of the New Testament:
 

In contrast, the Incomplete and unsealed codices of Sinaiticus and Vaticanus are not translated from the  5,321 Majority Text Greek manuscripts, that became the Textus Receptus [Original Masoretic Hebrew and the Greek Textus Receptus].

 

The Sinaiticus and Vaticanus manuscripts  present variant readings rather than that of the well-established and settled majority Texts. They disagree often with one another as well as with the settled majority texts. Thus, an attempt to create a pretext that will continue to justify a never-ending demand for additional editions and interpretations. These unsettled differences and bias in certain sectarian doctrine [dogma] have led to the production of multiple “modern” editions with ambiguities, many variant readings and confusion from the explosion of unending, new editions.

Profit-driven publishers have embraced such an economic windfall to sell a continual flow of “new and better” English edition of The Bible. They give too little attention to the fidelity and accuracy already settled [in heaven] in majority manuscripts of the Masoretic Hebrew and the  Greek Textus Receptus.

 

Psalm 119:89-90

God, Himself, providentially protects and preserves His Word. His Word is the God-breathed, self-authenticating, immutable [unchanging and unchangeable], eternal, inerrant, infallible, infinite and all-powerful Word, settled in heaven. He is not the author of confusion.

No other [person or publisher] may print, copy or import the King James Bible into Great Brittan by order of the Crown.

 

Printed Prayer: Printed prayers must not be read or offered as a substitute for personal, fervent, effectual, heart-felt, prayer. They are offered, rather, to warm the hearts of those who will presently seek a season of fervent, authentic two-way, heart-to-heart fellowship and prayer with the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. The above link is to search for specific words or Scriptures in the King James inerrant and infallible  English Version  (KJV)  because it is providentially protected and preserved by GOD Himself through the only translation into English by faithful brethren from the 5,312 established majority text manuscripts MT from which the New Testament  Greek Textus Receptus [received text] was taken  and the Hebrew Masoretic Text of the Old Testament (Jewish Tanakh).  These manuscripts are providentially protected, and give greater glory to God when compared to the variant readings of all post KJV  translations. Modern Critical Texts are based on only 55 hand picked Greek manuscripts fabricated from either Westcott and Hort or Nestle and Aland. Both of these Greek textual sources make the assumption that OLDER IS BETTER. Of course, this assumption is not valid in any place   the older manuscripts err from the Textus Receptus..

 

The established majority manuscripts and the Textus Receptus avoid doctrinal error, and inaccuracies in translation, uninspired editorial notations, variant or ambiguous readings which taken from Codices Vaticanus, or Sinaiticus.

Copyright: The King James Version is also distinguished by the requirement of Great Brittan that all King James bibles be printed by the Cambridge University Press, the Crown’s authorized printer. No one other than the Crown’s printer, is allowed print, copy or import the King James Bible into Great Brittan by order of the Crown.

 

In the United States there is no Copyright protection to restrict the free printing of the KJV. It is the only Bible version that may be printed freely as Public Domain. Any  new publication that changes 10% or more of any existing  publication may procure a lucrative Copyright protection to restrict unauthorized printing of the new publication. In 1870, The Anglican Church of England passed a resolution to revise the English Bible. The New Testament revision committee which finally consisted of 25 scholars (though only about 16 eventually attended the meetings) which included Westcott and Hort. The committee worked for ten years in the Jerusalem chamber, and these two scholars swept the Revision Committee along with them after work commenced. In fact, the “Cambridge trio” (Westcott, Hort and Lightfoot) colluded with others to dominate the meetings with their views of the text and to defeat any who opposed them. Their *letters reveal this conspiracy:

The only voice defending the Textus Receptus was Dr Scrivener, probably the foremost scholar of the day in the manuscripts of the Greek New Testament and the history of the Text. But he was systematically outvoted by the Cambridge trio and outdone by Hort’s powerful debating skill. When the revision was completed, the revision committee had altered the Greek Text in 5,337 places,

thus violating the original rule that had been set for the committee of not altering the Greek Text unless absolutely necessary to do so.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, let it be said that no matter how good any modern version of the New Testament is in other ways, it is clearly blemished if the work of Westcott and Hort or Nestle & Aland.is present in it. The presence of their work means that it is based on  defective text. Those who honor the Word of God must not promote any of these versions by the church, not because the content of the version is entirely  evil in itself, but because being contented to use a weakened version rather than the existing, preserved, inerrant unblemished one, dishonors God. If God has preserved for His people a good Greek text of the New Testament for 18 centuries, how dishonoring it must  be to Him if His people now chose versions that are  based on  the defective and inferior  Greek manuscript  invented  by Westcott & Hort or Nestle & Aland.

 

Let the biblical story of Nadab and Abihu be a lesson for us all:
