DEVOTION for  December 10th    *A,D, 2025. Written and calendared for this date by Charles Haddon Spurgeon 1834-1892.

All Bible versions NOT  translated from the Textus Receptus [The (traditional) Received Greek Text] include variant  readings that diminish the full  glory and the most Holy reverence due to Almighty GOD, that He preserves and protects it immutably  in the 1769 Edition of the 1611 King James Version  KJV Bible. This version is also known as the Authorized King James  Version  AKJV and the  Authorized Version AV. ALL GLORY is due to and must be given to the Omnipotent Lord of ALL.

The Geneva Bible was also faithfully translated from the Greek Textus Receptus and included  comments favorable to the Protestant Reformation  from inspired, devoted,  faithful Christian men of GOD; They were Puritan Believers known to be  beyond reproach.

This Bible was first brought to Plymouth Massachusetts  in the American Colonies by the Puritan Pilgrims guided by Captain Christopher Jones’s on the Mayflower sailing ship in 1620. A 1592 Edition of the Geneva Bible that belonging to a Mayflower passenger and the Governor of the Plymouth Colony (Later to become the State of   Massachusetts) by William Bradford and is on display at the Pilgrim Hall Museum in Plymouth, Massachusetts, the oldest continuously operating public museum in the United States.

The traditional Textus Receptus [Received Greek Text] unlike any other Greek Text was taken  from more than 5,321 original Majority Greek Manuscripts MT that agree 98% with one another. Other variant readings are translations invented by  either Westcott and Hort or Nestle and Aland. These fabricated Greek Texts were translated from only a handful [45] of Majority Text Manuscripts MT and  lack the  trustworthiness of  the inspired 1769 [1611] King James Version, KJV or the Geneva Bible and are the only two translations of the traditional, reliable, inspired, [GOD BREATHED] immutable and providentially and divinely protected Textus Receptus.

The Bridge to Babylon video presents evidence that tracks the explosion of more than 100 new versions of English translations  of the Bible. The continuing attempts to replace, add or take away from the 1769 King James Version of the Holy Bible does not  prevail because GOD Himself preserves and protects The  inspired, inerrant, immutable and infallible  Holy Word of GOD from all heresy, blasphemy, confusion , errors, additions, subtractions or changes.

Can   DAILYSPURGEON  be trusted? Is it trustworthy?

Is it of God?

YES, it can!    Yes, it is!     Here’s why.

1 John 4:1-3

Beloved ones, don’t be believing every spirit [everyone or !everything] you hear but be testing the spirit [voice] whether it is of God: because many false prophets have gone [come] out into the world. Here’s how you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit [voice] that confesses [avows] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh, having come[who came] out of God, is of God: and every spirit that confesses not [doesn’t audibly avow] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

I therefore must and do audibly confess,  that Jesus Christ is come  [is here]  in the flesh.

[All translations of the Bible that use a Greek text other than the traditional and faithful Textus Receptus ignore the Greek word “ictin” [the Greek word that means “is” in English].  This omission causes the meaning of “is here” to  be changed from “is” come” [is here] to “has” come”.

This error is self-evident because non-believers, false prophets, atheists or heretics can, and frequently do, affirm that Jesus Christ “has come” [in the flesh].

While this is a true statement, when taken at face value, the  meaning  “has come” is clearly not the same as “is here”; which is the valid, scriptural test of  discernment to know if words are from the Spirit of God or the spirit of antichrist.

The most well documented fact in all of human history is that the Lord Jesus Christ [The Messiah]  “has” come in the flesh. However, the question of much greater importance,  is not whether the spirit [a spoken or written word] being considered and tested confesses that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh but, whether the confession being made affirms that Jesus Christ, “is come” [is here], from God, in the flesh.

Ephesians 5:30-32

For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

32 This is a great mystery: but I [The Apostle Paul]  speak concerning Christ and the church.  [The body and Bride of CHRIST]

_____________________________________________________________

“I speak concerning Christ and the church.” [the fleshly embodiment, here and now ,  of the body of Christ]. Because  followers of Jesus Christ are members of the incarnate Body of Christ [The Church] I affirm and avow that Jesus Christ is here

[Not “Has come”] in the flesh.

Christ’s Imminent Return   1 Thessalonians 4:13-17    with Dr. Peter Masters

ANECDOTE 129: December 10th     A SLEEPING CHURCH.

There is a fortress, yonder, far away in India. A troop of those abominable Sepoys [natives of India employed as soldiers by Great Britain] have surrounded it. Bloodthirsty hell-hounds, if they once gain admission, they will rend [tear apart] the mother and her children, and cut the strong man in pieces. They are at the gates: Their cannon are loaded, their bayonets thirst for blood, and their swords are hungry to slay. Go through the fortress, and the people are all asleep. There is the warder [watchman] on the tower, nodding on his bayonet. There is the captain in his tent, with his pen in his hand, and his dispatches before him, asleep at the table. There are soldiers lying down in their tents, ready for the war, but all slumbering. There is not a man to be seen keeping watch, there is not a sentry there. All are asleep. Why, my friends, you would say, “Whatever is the matter here? What can it be? Has some great wizard been waving his wand, and put a spell upon them all? Or are they all mad? Have their minds fled [left them]? Sure, to be asleep in wartime is indeed outrageous. Here! take down that trumpet; go close up to the captain’s ear, and blow a blast, and see if it does not awake him in a moment. Just take away that bayonet from the soldier that is asleep on the walls, and give him a sharp prick with it, and see if he does not awake.” But surely, surely, nobody can have patience with people asleep, when the enemy surround the walls and are thundering at the gates.

Now, Christians, this is your case. Your life is a life of warfare; the world, the flesh, and the devil; that hellish trinity, and your poor flesh is a wretched mud-work behind which to be *entrenched [dug in]. Are you asleep? Asleep, when Satan has fire-balls of lust to hurl into the windows of your eyes when he has- arrows of temptation to shoot into your heart when he has snares into which to trap your feet? Asleep, when he has undermined your very existence, and when he is about to apply the match [fire the cannon] with which to destroy you, unless sovereign grace prevents? Oh! sleep not, soldier of the cross! [Wake up soldier!] To sleep in war-time is utterly inconsistent. Great Spirit of God forbid that we should slumber.

FAITH’S CHECKBOOK December 10th     GOD IS OUR ALLY [Is on our side]

-But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries- Exodus 23:22

-Pero si en verdad oyeres su voz, e hicieres todo lo que yo te dijere, sere enemigo a tus enemigos, y afligire a los que te afligieren.- Exodo 23:22

The Lord [Jesus] Christ in the midst of His people is to be acknowledged and obeyed. He is the vicegerent of God, [officer appointed by the sovereign] and speaks in the Father s name, and it is ours implicitly and immediately to do as He commands. We shall lose the promise if we disregard the precept.[teaching]To full obedience how large the blessing! [The blessing is huge when full obedience is carried out] The Lord enters into a league [partnership] with His people, offensive and defensive. He will bless those who bless us, and curse those who curse us. God will go heart and soul with His people, and enter in deepest sympathy into their position. What a protection this affords us! We need not concern ourselves about our adversaries, [enemies] when we are assured that they have become the adversaries of God. If Jehovah has taken up our quarrel [fight] we may leave the foemen [enemies] in His hands.  So far as our own interest is concerned we have no enemies; but for the cause of truth and righteousness we take up arms and go forth into conflict. In this sacred war we are allied with the eternal God, and if we carefully obey the law of our Lord Jesus, He is engaged to put forth all His power on our behalf. Wherefore we fear no man.

Prayer: Thank You Lord Jesus for Your promise that if I [all believers] continue as Your followers fully devoted and obedient] ALL my enemies will be Your enemies; all my adversaries, Your adversaries. Help me therefore to trust and obey You from the deepest desire of my heart out of gratitude to You for Your sacrificial love poured out on Calvary [the cross] for me. Thank you, Lord Jesus, Amen.

MORNING December 10th  "SO SHALL WE EVER BE WITH THE LORD."
— 1 Thessalonians 4:17

-Así estaremos siempre con el Señor— 1 Tesalonicenses 4:17

EVEN the sweetest visits from Christ, how short they are—and how transitory! [fleeting] One moment our eyes see Him, and we rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory, but again a little time and we do not see Him, for our Beloved withdraws Himself from us; like a roe [small, agile Old World deer] or a young hart [male, common red deer, mature at five years] He leaps over the mountains of division; He is gone to the land of spices and feeds no more among the lilies.

If today he deigns [desires] to bless us

With a sense of pardoned sin,

He tomorrow may distress us,

Make us feel the plague within.

Oh, how sweet the prospect of the time when we shall not behold Him at a distance, but see Him face to face: when He shall not be as a wayfaring [traveling] man tarrying [staying, lodging] but for [only] a night, but shall eternally enfold us in the bosom of His glory.

Millions of years our wondering eyes,

Shall o'er [over] our Savior's beauties rove;

And myriad ages we'll adore,

The wonders of his love.

We shall not see Him for a little season, but in heaven there shall be no interruptions from care or sin; no weeping shall dim our eyes; no earthly business shall distract our happy thoughts; we shall have nothing to hinder us from gazing forever on the Sun of Righteousness with unwearied eyes. Oh, if it be so sweet to see Him now and then, how sweet to gaze on that blessed face for aye [ever], and never have a cloud rolling be-tween, and never have to turn one's eyes away to look on a world of weariness and woe! [sorrow] Blest day, when will you dawn? Rise, 0 unsetting sun! The joys of sense may leave us as soon as they will, for this shall make glorious amends [divine reconciliation]. If to die is but to enter into uninterrupted communion with Jesus. then death is indeed gain, and the black drop [death] is swallowed up in a sea of victory.

EVENING December 10th "WHOSE HEART THE LORD OPENED. "— Acts 16:14

—El corazón de la cual abrió el Señor— Hechos 16:14

IN Lydia's conversion there are many points of interest. It was brought about by

providential circumstances. She was a seller of purple in the city of Thyatira, but just at the right time for hearing Paul we find her at Philippi; providence, the handmaid of grace, led her to the right spot. Again, grace was preparing her soul for the blessing—

grace preparing for grace. She did not know the Savior, but as a Jewess, she knew many truths which were excellent stepping-stones to a knowledge of Jesus. Her conversion took place in the use of the means. On the Sabbath she went when prayer was usually made, and there prayer was heard. Never neglect the means of grace; God may bless us when we are not in His house, but we have the greater reason to hope that

He will when we are in communion with His saints. Observe the words,

"Whose heart the Lord opened." She did not open her own heart. Her prayers did not do it; Paul did not do it. The Lord Himself must open the heart to receive the things which make for our peace. He alone can put the key into the [key] hole of the door, open it, and get admittance for Himself. He is the heart's master as

He is the heart's maker. The first outward evidence of the opened heart was obedience. As soon as Lydia had believed in Jesus, she was baptized. It is a sweet sign of a humble and broken heart, when the child of God is willing to obey a command which is not essential to his salvation, which is not forced on him by a selfish fear of condemnation, but is a simple act of obedience and of communion with his [ones] Master. The next evidence was love, manifesting itself in acts of grateful kindness to the apostles .

Love to the saints has ever been a mark of the true convert. Those who do nothing for Christ or His church, give but [only] sorry evidence of an "opened" heart.

Lord, evermore [for all time] give me an opened heart.

A SINNERS PRAYER  FOR ANYONE:

Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21

For "whosoever will" may surely come and take of the water of life freely, because "whosoever will" [one who] is already drawn by the Father!  And you have the word of Christ: "All that the Father giveth me, shall come to me; and him that cometh unto me I will in no wise cast out !"

Therefore, pray and call on the Lord Jesus and be saved    … won’t you?

(Pray like this, out-loud, from your heart:)

“Lord Jesus, I’m lost. I’m a selfish, sinful and hopeless sinner. I cannot save myself. Without you and your sacrifice on the cross to save me, I would be hell bound. My sinful nature reveals itself in my sinfulness. I’m totally depraved and I sin because it is my natural born inclination. I know that me doing my best, or being as good as I can, or better than others or making excuses will never be enough to save myself.

I need to be saved.

I look to You, Lord Jesus to save me. Your word states, “It shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21. I call on You now Lord Jesus believing You will save me.

Thank You, Lord Jesus, that You so loved me that you would and, in fact, did die for me on the cross.

I ask that You forgive all my sins and save me. I’m sorry for all my sins and turn away from each one. Thank you, Lord, for paying, in full, the price of punishment for all my sins and for saving me.

Thank you, Heavenly Father that You say, “Look unto me, and be ye saved all the ends of the earth: for I am God and there is none else.”
I do look to You in believing You always keep Your Word and. will save me.

Thank You for revealing in me, that the wages of sin is death;  but Your gift is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Thank You, Heavenly Father that you raised Jesus from the dead victorious over sin, death and the grave and now that I have trusted in Him I am eternally saved.

Thank you for saving me.   Holy Spirit. please guide me into all truth and shape me into the very image of Your only begotten son, the Lord Jesus Christ in whose name I pray, Amen.

Our desire is for

But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received the things which were sent from you, a sweet fragrance, a sacrifice acceptable, well-pleasing to God. …[therefore] I know that my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:17-19.

Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Salute every saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren which are with me greet you. All the saints salute you,

They did not abandon their post of duty just because their surroundings were no longer congenial [comfortable]. In the same way, may fruit indeed abound to your account. May God supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus according to His Word in Jesus name, Amen.

The apostle Paul’s gratitude, contentment and blessing, expressed here, to the Philippians, (and all future believers) is a true reflection of out thoughts regarding Daily Spurgeon as well.

Our desire is for

“Fruit that may abound to your account.”

"For even in [the] Thessaloni'ca [jail] ye sent once and again unto my necessity. Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account. Philippians 4:17.

Chiefly they that are of *Caesar’s household. ]. “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ

be with you all. Amen” Philippians 4:20-23

* Not only were new converts won to Christ in Caesar's household, but after their conversion they remained to serve in that household.

They did not abandon their post of duty just because their surroundings were no longer congenial [comfortable]. [They were now out of their comfort zone.] The truth had found them there, and there they would remain, and by their changed life and character testify of the transforming power of their faith and new life in Jesus Christ.
In the same way, may fruit indeed abound to your account. May God supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus according to His Word in Jesus name, Amen.

MISSION STATEMENT
Our solemn  aim is to trust and obey the Lord Jesus in everything. This  relies completely upon God to achieve His purpose for us through His means. We purpose, with God’s empowerment and  help,  to save the lost, comfort, strengthen and encourage believers, and  rightly divide God’s Word to proclaim the Gospel (Good News) of Jesus Christ to every creature.

The Holy Bible is God’s eternal, inerrant, infallible, immutable revealed and divinely preserved Word.  It is His supernatural, complete scripture  of all revealed truth.  He brings guidance through it to us personally and to each local body of Christian believers. With God’s empowerment, we will read, study, meditate-on, trust-in  and obey God’s Holy Bible and encourage others to do the same. We hold it to be the supreme authority and the preeminent and divinely established Stare Decisis [Latin: to stand by that which is decided, the legal principle of precedence,   literally "to stand by decided matters"] in all things.

Therefore, the purpose of The John Mark Publishing Company is to publish the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every creature. And, to serve all, in love,  especially those in the household of faith. This purpose compels us to follow, and rightly present, God’s Holy Word, the Bible as God’s divinely preserved truth; the foundation of this ministry.

Tabernacle History:
The  inspired preaching, teaching, soul winning and writings of Charles Haddon Spurgeon were solely based, empowered and inspired by God’s Holy Word the Bible.  His written sermons and devotional content continue to benefit today’s readers with authentic  Gospel preaching and sound biblical teaching. His ministry continues to flourish from the original (Spurgeon’s)  Metropolitan Tabernacle,  a church fellowship began in 1650 with the present  building constructed by members of the congregation in 1861 and rebuilt after the second world war..

Spurgeon's written materials are for the edification of the church body as well as a great benefit, blessing and challenge to all readers. Our desire is that the written Word of God will become the Living  Word in each and every reader. To this end, a calendar is indexed (top, right) on the Home page of DailySpurgeon.com for daily study, meditation and prayer. An unabridged and strictly maintained fidelity to Spurgeon’s original calendar and unabridged text is carefully guarded.

VETERAN'S DAY TRIBUTE TO NORTH DAKOTA VETERAN SCOUTS  (click this blue link for video)

The heart of gratitude from JON EDWARD RILEY, a Native Son,  Honoring the Service of Native American Scouts and Armed services Veterans of the United States.

In loving memory of Jon Edward Riley (1971-2021) who would sometimes just bust-out singing the following songs; sometimes, on the way to church sometimes just singing along with the Elvis Gospel CD that was always kept in the truck’s CD player or, even better, a song the Lord would spontaneously put in his joyful and loving heart.

I LOVE You Lord      by Jared Reynolds

How Great Thou Art    with Elvis

Lead Me & Rock-a My Soul   by Elvis and friends

…Jon always said “Later”; [see-ya-later] instead of “good bye”. It was his standard greeting to bid farewell … He would never  say “good-bye”. Now, as we remember the sound of him saying “Later”, it rings very true as to its new and deeper meaning and it brings a joyfulness and comfort to the hearts of those he loved so well; those who love him still and will forever more.

… we are  reminded of the promise of the Hymn:

 ’Till We Meet Again. Amen.

GOD’S  WORD

From The Metropolitan Tabernacle (C.H. Spurgeon 1834-1892)

SERMON: November 19th

What Can You Trust   Titus 1:2  with Dr. Peter Masters

Life is a search for dependable things in an unreliable world. Apart from wilful lies there are countless mistaken ideas, half-truths, empty promises, excuses and exaggerations, not to mention gossip and slander. Here the truthfulness of God is presented and His solid promises to all who come to Him.

SACRED LITERATURE: December 9th

THE PILGRIM’S PROGRESS  by John Bunyan

ORIGINAL: The Pilgrim’s Progress  Pub. by Logos in 1853  from the 1678 Original

REVISED: by Barry E. Horner: The Pilgrim’s Progrefs  [sic] ©1999

The Pilgrim Progress is the world’s most widely published and most famous Allegory, It was commonly found among he scant possessions in the cabins of the early American Pioneers. It was  loved and  read, second only to the Holy Bible, God’s Word, of guidance, encouragement and comfort. It’s also considered, by some, to be the world’s first English novel and is the most published book of all time. other than the Bible. There were 1,300 editions printed before 1938, 250 years after the author's death. It remains among the world’s most famous literature.

Excerpt from  Spurgeon Sermon    ― CHRIST IN YOU

"Christ in us is Christ reigning." reminds me [Spurgeon]  of Mr. Bunyan’s picture of [the town of] Mansoul, …when the Prince Immanuel laid siege to it, and Diabolus from within the city strove to keep him out. It was a, hard time for Mansoul then; but when at last the battering rams had broken down the gates, and the silver trumpets sounded, and the prince’s captains entered the breach, then on a day the prince himself did ride down the city’s streets, while liberated citizens welcomed him with all their hearts, hung out all their streamers, and made the church towers rock again as the bells rang out merry peals [melodies] , for the king himself was come. Up to the castle of the heart [main castle]  he rode in triumph, and took his royal throne to be henceforth the sole lord and king of the city.

Christ in you is a right royal word. Christ swaying his scepter from the center of your being over every power and faculty, desire and resolve, bringing every thought into captivity to himself, oh, this is glory begun, and the sure pledge of heaven. Oh for more of the imperial sovereignty of Jesus; it is our liberty to be absolutely under his sway.

Spurgeon Sermon: December 10th  Christ in You, May 13, 1883 Scripture: Colossians 1:27  From: Metropolitan Tabernacle Pulpit, Volume 29   (cit. II. THE SWEETNESS OF THIS MYSTERY, WHICH IS CHRIST IN YOU, § 5)

MISSION STATEMENT:
Our aim is to encourage  God’s purpose in one another, to save souls, strengthen and encourage believers in the Word, and proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ.

We believe the Bible is God’s revealed Word and that through His Word He guides us as individuals and as a local body of believers. We are resolved, God helping us, to study, meditate and pray to rightly divide God’s revealed and preserved Word holding it as the final authority in all things.
The purpose of The John Mark Publishing Company is to make known the Gospel of The Lord Jesus Christ to everyone. We desire to show the love of Jesus  to all, especially those in need and those in the household of faith. The Bible is God’s everlasting, inspired, (God breathed) inerrant, (error free) immutable (unchangeable), and infallible (incapable of being wrong) divinely protected and preserved  message of salvation to the whole world.  It is the essence of  the ministry  inspired here.
The  inspirational source of  preaching, teaching and writing  by Charles Haddon Spurgeon is from this same essence.  His writings continue to be  much read and much used today in the  support of Gospel preaching. Such ministry is still flourishing  in London at  the Metropolitan Tabernacle,  the church constructed for the 6,000 member congregation in the 1800's. Our effort here is to increase  the publication, circulation and use of Spurgeon's materials for the benefit of the church body as well as all other readers.  To this end we have arranged a daily Table of Contents and have added brief annotations [shown in brackets]  while maintaining a strict fidelity to Spurgeon’s original and unabridged text.

Published Titles from Spurgeon’s written work are used exclusively as the resource from which
selections are made for inclusion into the Devotion each day from Daily Spurgeon:

·       C.H. Spurgeon Prayers

·       Spurgeon’s  Illustrative Anecdotes

·       Faith’s Checkbook

·       Morning &  Evening

These titles of devotions are from the body of inspired work from the gospel preaching and devotional writings of Charles Haddon Spurgeon 1834-1892.

No servant of God has given a greater legacy of gospel exposition to the world in the English language.  Spurgeon has been and is today widely read with great benefit from the 1800’s to this present time. He was the beloved venerable pastor of

Prayer: Dear Lord, please empower this, Your ministry to thrive in winning souls, and helping us to be loving and compassionate toward all who are in need, especially those in the household of faith, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
Disclaimer: The John Mark Publishing Company is not intended to praise or exalt  Charles H. Spurgeon. He didn’t need or want it then and wouldn’t desire it now. Our intention is to lift up and glorify the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and to preach HIM and .
Precaution: These Messages and prayers alone will not substitute for continual fellowship with the Lord Jesus. Neither do they replace personal reading, meditation, prayer and fasting over God's divinely protected, preserved and eternally immutable Word. (The King James version (KJV), known also as the Authorized Version (AV), is the preferred English Bible because its accuracy and fidelity to the Greek Textus Receptus [received text] and the Hebrew Masoretic Text) are inerrant and infallible and avoid doctrinal and editorial weaknesses  found in all contemporary versions that all follow the inferior Greek text of the Critical text theory advanced by Westcott and Hort.
The Printed Prayer Selection must not be read or offered as a substitute for personal, fervent, effectual, heart-felt, prayer. It  is intended rather, to bless and warm the hearts of those who presently seek a season of fervent, authentic two-way, heart-to-heart  fellowship and prayer with the Father, His Son and the Holy Spirit.

Preaching  Preparation:  If you are studying or preparing to preach from a specific, scripture text, Please inform us so that we may  send you a Sermon from Mr. Spurgeon on the message, precept and application most closely aligned to your selected text.

My Prayer,  Dear Father,  is that You bless, lift up, encourage and teach all readers that You guide here.  Bless all those who minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ and may Your holy anointing fall fresh, continually upon each one who rightly divides and faithfully proclaims Your Word. Save many souls and make disciples of all who love and follow You. Be glorified in everything that is done in Your name, Lord Jesus.  Amen.

… and pray for souls to be saved.

The Lord … is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.  2 Peter 3:9

Pray also that believers will rightly divide God’s inerrant eternal Word forever settled in heaven.  Psalm 119:89

 MISSION PURPOSE:
Our aim is to trust and obey the Lord Jesus Christ in everything. We rely wholly upon the Holy Spirit to impart God’s  divine revelation to us from His Word, the Holy Bible.  With God’s help, we will follow Jesus.  We expect  that lost souls will be saved, believers, comforted, strengthened and encouraged. To  God be all the glory.

The Bible is God’s divinely inspired [God breathed] revealed, infinite, eternal, inerrant, infallible, immutable Word to all mankind.  This divine, supernatural Word brings all revealed truth to the world. We purpose, therefore, to follow  God’s Holy Word, Personal guidance and guidance to the local church comes by His Word.

Hence, we resolve, God helping us, to read, study, meditate-on, trust-in  and obey God’s revealed and divinely preserved Word,  holding it to be the supreme authority and the only divinely established Stare Decisis [Latin: to stand by that which is decided] in all things.

Therefore, the purpose of The John Mark Publishing Company is to publish and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every creature, ministering God’s love to all, especially those in the household of faith.  The Bible is God’s everlasting, inspired, (God breathed) inerrant, infallible, unchangeable, divinely protected and preserved Word of love and salvation to the entire world.  It is also the essential foundation of this ministry.
History: The  inspired preaching, teaching and writing  of Charles Haddon Spurgeon is all empowered by God’s revealed Word the Bible.  His written publications continue to benefit readers through authentic Gospel preaching and sound biblical teaching. This ministry continues to flourish from  (Spurgeon’s)  Metropolitan Tabernacle, (Brief History) a church fellowship that was begun in 1650. The building was constructed by members of the congregation in 1861.

We present Spurgeon's printed  materials to edify the church body as well as for the benefit, blessing and challenge to all readers. Our desire is that the written Word of God will become the Living  Word in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ in each and every reader.

Dailyspurgeon.com is offered to encourage and provide opportunity to hear the Gospel [Good News] preached, and to engage in daily devotional meditation, Bible study and prayer. Careful adherence to Spurgeon’s calendar and  original, unabridged text is given herein.

No servant of God has left a greater legacy of presenting the Gospel to the world in the English language. (Now translated into many other languages)  Spurgeon is widely read with great benefit. He is a beloved pastor and founder of the Metropolitan Tabernacle in London, England, still thriving TODAY.  You’re invited to Live-stream worship services from London with Dr. Peter Masters, current  pastor since 1960.
Prayer: Dear Lord, empower your ministry to win many souls, and serve those in need, especially those in the household of faith, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

Disclaimer: The John Mark Publishing Company does not solicit praise of  Charles H. Spurgeon or his writing or preaching.  He didn’t need or want it then and wouldn’t desire it now.  Our aim is to lift up and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and to preach HIM only and him crucified.

Precaution: These Messages and prayers will not substitute for continual fellowship with the Lord Jesus nor gathering for corporate worship. Neither do they replace personal reading, meditation, prayer and fasting over God's divinely preserved and eternal Word.

The Authorized King James version (AKJV), also known as the Authorized Version (AV), is the preferred English Bible because it is translated into English accurately and faithfully from the Greek Textus Receptus [received text] and the Hebrew Masoretic Text  that bring the greatest glory to God and avoids doctrinal error, inaccuracies in translation, editorial changes or ambiguous readings found in other translations. It is distinguished further by the requirement of Great Brittan that all King James bibles be printed only by the Cambridge University Press, the Crown’s authorized printer. No other [person or publisher] may print, copy or import the King James Bible into Great Brittan by order of the Crown.

Printed Prayer: Printed prayers must not be read or offered as a substitute for personal, fervent, effectual, heart-felt, prayer. They are offered, rather, to warm the hearts of those who will presently seek a season of fervent, authentic two-way, heart-to-heart  fellowship and prayer with the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. Authentic revelations from God during  prayer are always consistent with His revealed Word, the Bible.

My Prayer: Dear Father,  is that You would touch, lift up, encourage and teach all who faithfully minister your Word.  Bless all who minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ. May Your blessing and holy anointing fall fresh upon each dear reader and abide with each one who rightly divides and faithfully proclaims Your Word  [The Bible]. Please save many souls; and may all be glory be yours alone. I pray this in the name of our Redeemer, The Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

We pray that you will NOW trust [believe in] the Lord Jesus Christ [The Messiah] as your personal, and only Lord and savior, and worship Him in Spirit and truth.

The aim of this website is to encourage and support believers to have greater love and stronger devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ. To this end, devotional support is offered through prayer, praise, and gospel preaching of God’s Word.

To the non-believer, is proclaimed The Good News that Jesus Saves and pray that they will trust in HIM and publicly confess their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ to be born again.

Join in, won’t you? with family, friends and others to pray, hear and heed the gospel of Jesus, and to sing hymns and praises worshiping God in spirit and in truth to God’s glory. Ephesians 5:18-20

As fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ,  we encourage one another to:

• Pray with our heavenly Father, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; 1 Thessalonians 5:17

• Be obedient to the eternal, inspired, immutable, inerrant, infallible, revealed and protected Word of God, revealed through Jesus Christ, the living Word; 1 Peter 1:23

• Be [Be being] filled with the Spirit; speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Ephesians 5:18-19

• Forsake not the assembling of yourselves together as the manner of some is;

Hebrews 10:23-25

For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

 - Jesus Christ   Matthew 18:19-20

You are invited to worship the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob through trust in and obedience to His only begotten Son, God’s Word made flesh, the Lord Jesus Christ, [the Messiah] the Lamb of God and to follow Him in proclaiming God’s Gospel of eternal life to every creature. John 3:16

To this end, Audio, Video, Praise and Printed resources are freely offered here in the name of Jesus Christ, [The Messiah].

The Audio content includes Sacred Music, The Pilgrim’s Progress and Gospel preaching of sermons, prayerfully selected, to present daily devotionals with the prayer that the lost will be saved; encouraged, challenged, built-up and that all who visit the website will grow in grace and be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ.

  • Preaching is from The Metropolitan Tabernacle (London, U.K.) by Pastor, Dr. Peter Masters or invited guests including the narration of recorded Sermons preached by Charles Haddon Spurgeon who is still known as The Prince of Preachers.
