PRAYER 23, June 22nd Part 3 of 7
3 Blessed be Thy name [Lord Jesus] forever and ever. But there are some who have never come to Thee [You]; they are hearers, but hearers only; they have listened to gracious invitations thousands of times, but they have never accepted them. Say unto them, “Thereto hast thou [so far have you] gone, but no further shalt thou [you] proceed in thy [your] carelessness and trifling. Here shalt thou [you shall] stay and turn unto [to] Thy [Your] God.” O Savior, Thou hast [You have] all power in heaven and earth, therefore Thou canst [You can] through the preaching of Thy [Your] Word influence the hearts of men. Turn them, and they shall be turned. Oh! do it this day. ANECDOTE 320: June 22nd A FUTILE PRAYER.
It has been well observed by an old divine [Godly Man], that the man who pleads his own merit does not pray, but demands his due.
If I ask a man to pay me a debt, I am not a suppliant, but a plaintiff claiming my rights. The prayer of a man who thinks he is meritorious is like serving the Lord with a writ: it is not offering a request, it is issuing a demand. Merit in effect says,
“Pay me that thou owest [Pay me what you owe me]”.
Little, will such a man get of God.

Rather an unusual text, but there may be souls in the world that may have faith enough to grasp it. Barak, the man, though called to the war, had little stomach for the fight unless Deborah would go with him, and so the Lord determined to make it a woman s war. By this means He rebuked the slackness of the man, and gained for Himself the more renown, and cast the more shame upon the enemies of His people. The Lord can still use feeble instrumentalities. Why not me? He may use persons who are not commonly called to great public engagements. Why not you? The woman who slew the enemy of Israel was no Amazon, but a wife who tarried in her tent. She was no orator, but a woman who milked the cows and made butter. May not [can t] the Lord use any one of us to accomplish His purpose? Somebody may come to the house today, even as Sisera came to Jael s tent. Be it ours, [Guide us Lord] not to slay him, but to save him. Let us receive him with great kindness, and then bring forth the blessed truth of salvation by the Lord Jesus, our great Substitute, and press home the command, -Believe and live.- Who knoweth but [who knows if] some stouthearted sinner may be slain [converted, saved] by the gospel today?
Thank You Lord Jesus, that You may choose to use even me to bring the truth of salvation to someone today. Please give me a willing heart and a firm resolve to follow You each step of the way in Your name Lord Jesus I pray, Amen. Please send the name of anyone who would like to receive this daily message.

THE entire person of Jesus is but as one gem [precious stone], and His life is all along [always] but [only] one impression of the [royal] seal. He is altogether complete; not only in His several parts, but as a gracious all-glorious whole.
His character is not a mass of fair colors mixed confusedly, nor a heap of precious stones laid carelessly one upon another; He is a picture of beauty and a breastplate of glory. In Him, all the "things of good repute" are in their proper places, and assist in adorning each other. Not one feature in His glorious person attracts attention at the expense of others; but he is perfectly and altogether lovely.
Oh, Jesus! Your power, Your grace, Your justice, Your tenderness, Your truth, Your majesty, and Your immutability [unchanging essence] make up such a man, or rather such a God-man, as neither heaven nor earth has seen elsewhere. Your infancy, Your eternity, Your sufferings, Your triumphs, Your death, and Your immortality, are all woven in one gorgeous tapestry [artistic wall hanging] , without seam or rent [rip]. EVENING June 22nd "THE FOUNDATION OF GOD STANDETH SURE [Stands Firm] . " —2 Timothy 2:19

THE foundation on which our faith rests is this, that "God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them." The great fact on which genuine faith relies is that "the Word [Jesus Christ] was made flesh [a physical man] and dwelt among us," and that "Christ also hath suffered for sin, the just for the un just, that He might bring us to God," "Who Himself bare our sins in His own body on the tree [cross]," "For the chas tisement [punishment] of our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed." In one word, the great pillar of the Christian's hope is substitution. The vicarious sacrifice of Christ for the guilty, Christ being made sin for us that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him, Christ offering up a true and proper expiatory and substitutionary sacrifice in the place and stead of as many as the Father gave Him, who are known to God by name, and are recognized in their own hearts by their trusting in Jesus—this is the cardinal [primary] fact of the gospel. If this foundation were removed, what could we do? But it stands firm as the throne of God. We know it; we rest on it; we rejoice in it; and our delight is to hold it, to meditate on it, and to proclaim it, while we desire to be actuated [motivated] and moved by gratitude for it in every part of our life and conversation. In these days a direct attack is being made on the doctrine of the atonement. Men can not bear substitution. They gnash their teeth at the thought of the Lamb of God bearing the sin of man. But we, who know by experience the preciousness of this truth, will proclaim it in defiance of them confidently and unceasingly. We will neither dilute it nor change it, nor fritter it away in any shape or fashion. It will still be Christ, a positive substitute, bearing human guilt and suffering in the stead of men. We cannot, dare not, give it up, for it is our life, and despite every controversy we feel that "Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure. [stands firm, unshakable]"

WHO IS THE GOD OF THE BIBLE?

WHAT IS THE MEANING OF HIS NAME?
(1 One) His Name is INCOMPREHENSIBLE!
Exodus 3:13-15 “13 And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? 14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. 15 And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.”

No, I’m Traditional Text only. But if you come to the view and the conviction of being Traditional Text only, you will be Only King James.
The issue is not translational.
Marketing ploys by publishing companies with little basis in reality would have us to believe that the new versions are:

Easier to read.
-
More modern.
-
More accurate (Not true)
The truth is that the KJV remains The most popular. (is still the most popularly read Bible in America). Over five billion copies of the King James (1769) is greater than all the other versions and editions combined.
The issue comes down to the textual issue. By That, I refer to the underlying Greek text. I guess we could say texts, plural but particularly that of the New Testament. On the one hand is the Traditional Text from which the only major English translation is the King James Version of the Bible. The Traditional Text.
On the other hand, is the Critical Text sometimes called the eclectic text from whence all the other translations come. And some will say well there really is no difference between them. The difference you could amount to is just the footnotes in the bottom of a page. (This is Not true) He was not dishonest but just repeating what someone had told him.

Pilgrim Progress is the world’s most famous Allegory, It and the Bible were commonly the only books to be found in the cabin of early American Settlers and were loved and read more than any book, second only to the Holy Bible. It’s also considered, by some, as being the world’s first English novel. It’s likely the most published book other than the Bible of all time. There were 1,300 editions printed before 1938, 250 years after the Bunyan’s death. Hence, the world’s most famous Allegory.

Spurgeon: Christ in us is Christ reigning." reminds me of Mr. Bunyan’s picture of [the town of] Mansoul, …when the Prince Immanuel laid siege to it, and Diabolus from within the city strove to keep him out. It was a, hard time for Mansoul then; but when at last the battering rams had broken down the gates, and the silver trumpets sounded, and the prince’s captains entered the breach, then on a day the prince himself did ride down the city’s streets, while liberated citizens welcomed him with all their hearts, hung out all their streamers, and made the church towers rock again as the bells rang out merry peals [happy melodies] , for the king himself was come. Up to the castle of the heart [main castle] he rode in triumph, and took his royal throne to be henceforth the sole lord and king of the city.
Christ in you is a right royal word. Christ swaying his scepter from the center of your being over every power and faculty, desire and resolve, bringing every thought into captivity to himself, Oh, this is glory begun, and the sure pledge of heaven. Oh, for more of the imperial sovereignty of Jesus, The Messiah; our liberty to be absolutely under his sway.

THE LOOK OF FAITH
We have no merit, no claim, no righteousness of our own. Oh! now, dear Savior, we look up to Thee. Oh! that some might look for the first time, and those of us that have long looked would fix our happy gaze again upon that blessed substitutionary sacrifice [the Lord Jesus] wherein is all our hope.
Dear Savior, we do take Thee to be everything to us, our sin-bearer and our sin-destroyer. We have not a shadow of a shade of a hope anywhere but in Thyself,
Thy life,
Thy death,
Thy resurrection,
Thine ascension,
Thy glory,
Thy reign,
Thy second advent [coming];
these are the only stars in our sky.

ANECDOTE 320: A Futile Prayer.
It has been well observed by an old divine [man of God], that the man who pleads his own merit does not pray, but demands his due.
If I ask a man to pay me a debt, I am not a suppliant, but a plaintiff claiming my rights. The prayer of a man who thinks he is meritorious is like serving the Lord with a writ: it is not offering a request, it is issuing a demand. Merit in effect says,
“Pay me that thou owest [Pay me what you owe me]”.
Little, will such a man get of God.

There is no doubt about it. The fear of the Lord leads to virtuous habits, and these prevent that waste of life which comes of sin and vice. The holy rest which springs out of faith in the Lord Jesus also greatly helps a man when he is ill.
Every physician rejoices to have a patient whose mind is fully at ease.
Worry kills, but confidence in God is like healing medicine.
We have therefore all the arrangements for long life, and if it be really for our good, we shall see a good old age, and come to our graves as shocks [stalks] of corn in their season. Let us not be overcome with sudden expectation of death the moment we have a finger-ache, but let us rather expect that we may have to work on through a considerable length of days. And what if we should soon be called to the higher sphere? [heaven] Certainly there would be nothing to deplore in such a summons, but everything to rejoice in.
Living or dying we are the Lord’s. If we live, Jesus will be with us; if we die, we shall be with Jesus.
The truest lengthening of life is to live while we live, wasting no time, but using every hour for the highest ends. So be it this day.
Prayer: Thank You Lord Jesus, for long life that is given to those that fear You. Help me to use Your gift of time for the highest good. May I be used to bring the truth of salvation to someone today. Give me a willing heart and a firm resolve to follow You today in Your name Lord Jesus I pray, Amen.

MORNING June 22
"He shall build the temple of the Lord; and He shall bear the glory. "—Zechariah 6:13

[Jesus] CHRIST Himself is the builder of His spiritual temple, and He has built it on the mountains of His unchangeable affection,
His omnipotent [infinite, all-powerful] grace, and
His infallible [unmistakable] truthfulness.
But as it was in Solomon's temple, so in this; the materials need making ready [need to be prepared].
There are the "Cedars of Lebanon," but they are not framed for the building; they are not cut down, and shaped, and made into those planks of cedar, whose odoriferous [fragrant] beauty shall make glad the courts of the Lord's house in Paradise.
There are also the rough stones still in the quarry, they must be hewn [cut] and squared. All this is Christ's own work. Each individual believer is being prepared, and polished, and made ready for his place in the temple; but Christ's own hand performs the preparation-work.
Afflictions cannot sanctify, excepting as they are used by Him to this end.
Our prayers and efforts cannot make us ready for heaven, apart from the hand of Jesus, who rightly fashions our hearts.
As in the building of Solomon's temple,
“there was neither hammer, nor axe, nor any tool of iron, heard in the house”, [of worship] because all was brought perfectly ready for the exact spot it was to occupy.
—so is it with the temple which Jesus builds;
the making ready is all done on earth. When we reach heaven, there will be
no sanctifying us there,
no squaring us with affliction,
no planning [sizing, trimming or shaping] us with suffering.
No, we must be made meet [completely finished] here—all that Christ will do beforehand; and when He has done it, we shall be ferried [transported] by a loving hand across the stream of death, and brought to the heavenly Jerusalem, to abide as eternal pillars in the temple of our Lord.
Beneath His eye and care,
The edifice [building] shall rise,
Majestic, strong, and fair,
And shine above the skies.

EVENING June 22

WE have many things in our possession at the present moment which can be shaken [taken away], and it does not become [is not fitting for] a Christian man to set much store by [put faith in] them, for there is nothing stable [permanent] beneath these rolling skies; change is written on all things.
Yet, we have certain "things which cannot be shaken," and I invite you this evening to think of them that if the things which can be shaken, should all be taken away, you may derive [still have] real comfort from the things that cannot be shaken which will remain.
Whatever your losses have been, or may be, you enjoy present salvation.
You are standing at the foot of His cross, trusting alone in the merit of Jesus' precious blood, and no rise or fall of the markets can interfere with your salvation in Him; no breaking of banks, no failures and bankruptcies can touch that.
Then you are a child of God this evening. God is your Father. No change of circumstances can ever rob you of that. Although by losses you might be brought to poverty and stripped bare, you can say,
"He is my Father still. In my Father's house are many mansions; therefore will I not be troubled."
You have another permanent blessing, namely, the love of Jesus Christ.
He who is God and Man loves you with all the strength of His affectionate nature—
nothing can affect that.
The fig tree may not blossom and the flocks may cease from the field; it matters not to the man who can sing,
"My Beloved is mine, and I am His."
Our best portion and richest heritage we cannot lose. Whatever troubles come, let us play the man [be a man]; let us show that we are not such little children as to be cast down by what may happen in this poor fleeting state of time.
Our country is *Immanuel's land, our hope is above the sky, and, therefore, calm as the summer's ocean;
we will see the wreck of everything earthborn, and yet rejoice in the God of our salvation.

A SINNER’S PRAYER: … FOR WHOSOEVER WILL: [For One and all]

Call on the name of the Lord Jesus and be saved … pray like this, won’t you?
“Lord Jesus, I’m a lost sinner and without You I am hopeless. I can’t save myself. Without your death on the cross for my sin debt I would be condemned to spend eternity condemned to Hell. I have been self-centered from birth. Please forgive me.
I realize that doing my best, being as good as possible, or being better than other people can never save me. . I’m guilty and sorry for each and every sin I have done and look to You to forgive me of them all.
I look to You, alone Lord Jesus to save me.
I call on You, Lord Jesus, right now to save me. You died on the cross for me, because of my sin and You say, “It shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21.
Right now, just as I am, I call on You, Lord Jesus to save me, I trust You, to be my Lord and Savior from now on.
Thank You, Lord Jesus, that You have forgiven me of all my sins. I ask You to abide in me and give me the desire to always follow You.
You paid the price for all of my sins by dying on the cross. Even the sins of the whole world.
Thank you, Lord Jesus that You loved me and died for me even before I was born and that You still love me now. I love You too.
Thank you, Heavenly Father, that You have called me away from sin and death into the Life everlasting in Your only begotten son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Thank You, Heavenly Father that you raised Jesus from the dead. He is ALIVE and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave. Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. [Holy Ghost, Comforter, Spirit of Truth]
Thank You for saving me heavenly Father. With all my heart, thank you Father for saving me in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Allow us to share the joy of your new birth with heaven. Won’t you? Heaven rejoices over each redeemed sinner. Luke 15:7

The above link is to search for specific words or Scriptures in the King James inerrant and infallible English Version (KJV) because it is providentially protected and preserved by GOD Himself through the only translation into English by faithful brethren from the 5,312 established majority text manuscripts MT from which the New Testament Greek Textus Receptus [received text] was taken and the Hebrew Masoretic Text of the Old Testament (Jewish Tanakh). These manuscripts are providentially protected, and frequently give greater glory to God when compared to variant readings of all modern translations from Modern Critical Texts based on only 55 hand picked inferior Greek manuscripts fabricated from either Westcott and Hort or Nestle and Aland. In 1870, The Anglican Church of England passed a resolution to revise the English Bible. The New Testament revision committee which finally consisted of 25 scholars (though only about 16 eventually attended the meetings) which included Westcott and Hort. The committee worked for ten years in the Jerusalem chamber, and these two scholars swept the Revision Committee along with them after work commenced. In fact, the “Cambridge trio” (Westcott, Hort and Lightfoot) colluded with others to dominate the meetings with their views of the text and to defeat any who opposed them. Their *letters reveal this conspiracy:

The only voice defending the Textus Receptus was Dr Scrivener, probably the foremost scholar of the day in the manuscripts of the Greek New Testament and the history of the Text. But he was systematically outvoted by the Cambridge trio and outdone by Hort’s powerful debating skill. When the revision was completed, the revision committee had altered the Greek Text in 5,337 places,
thus violating the original rule that had been set for the committee of not altering the Greek Text unless absolutely necessary to do so.

CONCLUSION
In conclusion, let it be said that no matter how good any modern version of the New Testament is in other ways, it is clearly blemished if the work of Westcott and Hort is present in it. The presence of their work means that it is based on a defective text. Those who want to honor the Word of God must not promote the use of any of these versions by the church, not because the content of the version is entirely evil in itself, but because being contented to use a weakened version rather than the existing, preserved, without error unblemished one, dishonors God. If God has preserved for His people a good Greek text of the New Testament for 18 centuries, how dishonoring it would be to Him if His people now chose instead to use versions that are based on defective Greek manuscript created by Westcott & Hort or Nestle & Aland.

All other versions are translated from Greek text created by either Westcott and Hort or the Nestle-Aland that was rendered by “Chery-picking” only 55 Greek manuscripts or fragments. These do not even agree with themselves and far less with the preserved and protected Textus Receptus.
