PRAYER 17, April 30th Part 6 of 8 TO BE LIKE CHRIST.
Bless us, [Dear Father] we pray Thee, as to our example and influence. May it always be of a salutary [healthy] kind; may there be sweetness and light about us which all must be obliged [obligated] to perceive. Not for our honor would we crave [desire] this, but that our light may so shine before men that they may “see our good works and glorify our Father which is in heaven.” The Lord grant us this! We beseech Thee [earnestly pray that You will], bless the unconverted among us; bring them in, dear Savior, bring them in. Help the living among us to compel [urge forcefully] them to come in that Thy [Your] house may be filled; may something of a sacred compulsion be used that they may not be left outside to starve in the highways and hedges [country-side], but be brought in to the Gospel feast. ANECDOTE 269: April 30th CHRISTIAN GLADNESS.
There is an expression in the Greek that never has been rendered into English, and never will be. Old [John] Trapp half puns upon the agalliasthe as he says, “dance a galliard.” I do not know what a “galliard” was, but I suppose that it was some very joyous kind of dance. Certainly we know of no better way of translating our Lord’s word than by exult, or leap for joy. Even when your good name shall be tarnished by the malice of the wicked, then you are to leap. When are you to be wretched? Surely despondency is excluded.
If slander is to make us dance, when are we to fret? Suppose some other kind of trial should come upon you, you are still to rejoice in the Lord always.

My heart, be thou stirred up [Oh my! I’m excited] to persevere [keep on keeping on] in the holy war, for the reward of victory is great. Today we eat of heavenly food which falls about our camps; the food of the wilderness, the food which comes from Heaven, the food which never fails the pilgrims [on their way] to Canaan. But there is reserved for us in Christ Jesus a still higher degree of spiritual life, and a food for it which, as yet is hidden from our experience. In the golden pot which was laid up in the ark [of the covenant] there was a portion of manna hidden away, which though kept for ages never grew stale. No one ever saw it; it was hid with the ark of the covenant, in the Holy of Holies.[The most holy place that only once per year the high priest entered] Even so, the highest life of the believer is hid with Christ, in God. We shall come to it soon. Being made victorious through the grace of our Lord Jesus, we shall eat of the King s meat, and feed upon royal dainties. We shall feed upon Jesus.[The Word of God]
He is our -hidden manna- [nourishment] as well as the manna of the wilderness. He is all in all to us in our highest, as well as in our lowest estate. He helps us to fight, gives us the victory, and then is Himself our reward. Lord, help me to overcome.
Prayer: Thank you, Lord that You will help Your soldiers to overcome and give us the hidden manna to eat [spiritual nourishment miraculously preserved, the bread of life, Jesus Christ] and will give us a white stone, and in the stone a new name will be written, which no man knows except for the one that receives it-
Give me blessed assurance in knowing that my life is hidden with Jesus Christ in God. Bless me Lord Jesus with patience knowing that Your promises are definite, certain and always come to pass . I believe that You died for me and that God raised You from the dead, victorious over sin, Satan and the grave. Thank You for saving me. Preserve and keep me holy in Christ Jesus. -I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.- Galatians 2:20. I rejoice with the angels in heaven for each repentant sinner that looks to You and is saved. Luke 15:7. Please help me to share this good news with every creature in Jesus Messiah’s name, Amen.

MORNING April 30th "AND ALL THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL MURMURED [WHINED AND COMPLAINED]." —Numbers 14:2

THERE are murmurers [complainers, whiners and non-stop critics] among Christians now, as there were in the camp of Israel of old. There are those who, when the rod falls, cry out against the afflictive dispensation. They ask, "Why am I thus afflicted? What have I done to be chastened in this manner?"
A word with you, O murmurer! Why should you murmur against the dispensations of your heavenly Father? Can [Is it possible that] He treat you more hardly [harder] than you deserve? Consider what a rebel you once were, but he has pardoned you! Surely, if He in His wisdom sees fit now to chasten [discipline and correct] you, you should not complain. After all, are you smitten [smacked] as hard as your sins deserve? Consider the corruption in your breast [heart], and then will you wonder that there need be so much of the rod [spanking stick] to drive it out? Weigh yourself, and discern how much dross [impurity] is mingled with your gold; and do you think the fire too hot to purge away so much dross as you have?
Does not that proud rebellious spirit of yours prove that your heart is not thoroughly sanctified? Are not those murmuring words contrary to the holy submissive nature of God's children? Is not [Isn’t] the correction needed? But if you will murmur against the chastening, take heed, for it will go hard with [be rough on] murmurers. God always chastises [disciplines] His children twice, if they do not bear the first stroke patiently. But know one thing—"He doth not afflict willingly, nor grieve the children of men." All His corrections are sent in love, to purify you, and to draw you nearer to Himself. Surely it must help you to bear the chastening with resignation if you are able to recognize your Father's hand. For "whom the Lord loveth [loves] He chasteneth, [corrects] and scourgeth [whips] every son whom He receiveth [accepts].
If ye endure chastening [being spanked], God dealeth [deals] with you as with sons." "Murmur not as some of them also murmured and were destroyed of the destroyer."

DIVINE omniscience [infinite knowledge] affords no comfort to the ungodly mind, but to the child of God it overflows with consolation [comfort]. God is always thinking of us, never turns aside His mind from us, has us always before His eyes; and this is precisely as we would have it, for it would be dreadful to exist for a moment beyond the observation of our heavenly Father. His thoughts are always tender, loving, wise, prudent [righteous], far-reaching, and they bring to us countless benefits: hence [therefore] it is a choice delight to remember them. The Lord always did think on His people: hence [from which comes] their election and the covenant of grace by which their salvation is secured; He always will think of them: hence [from which comes] their final perseverance [endurance to the end] by which they shall be brought safely to their final rest. In all our wanderings the watchful glance of the Eternal Watcher [God almighty] is evermore fixed upon us—we never roam beyond the Shepherd's eye. In our sorrows He observes us incessantly, and not a pang [the smallest pain] escapes Him; in our toils He marks all our weariness, and writes in His book all the struggles of His faithful ones. These thoughts of the Lord encompass us in all our paths, and penetrate the innermost region of our being. Not a nerve or tissue, valve or vessel, of our body’s organization is uncared for;
all the Tittles [the small, horizontal line written to complete the writing of a “T”] of our little world are thought upon [about] by the great God.
A.D. did not and does NOT mean “After Death” as many have erroneously thought. It actually is the Latin abbreviation for Anno Domini, a Latin phrase adopted into English that means “Year of our Lord”. It is used together with B.C. Before Christ to divide and describe all time before and after the birth of Jesus Christ.
B.C.E is not a synonym for B.C. (Before Christ)] Does it mean the same thing? No, it doesn’t. Not even close.
B.C.E./C.E or B.C./A.D.? What’s the difference?
B.C.E. (is an abbreviation for Before COMMON Era, Before CURRENT Era and sometimes erroneously Before CHRISTIAN Era) and from its inception continues to be an attempt by atheist, agnostics and other non-Christians to remove the long established practice of referencing Jesus Christ, His date of birth or his Lordship with A.D or B.C. , abbreviations needed to describe a specific time in history. This argument for change postulates merit in a “neutral” point of view that would eliminate all reference to Jesus Christ, his birth or Lordship. They have sought to accomplish this By replacing the use of A.D and B.C. with B.C.E and C.E. This argument sets up a faulty and egregious hypothesis. Even without consideration of a person’s religious views an analysis of the use, were it to be possible, of a neutral point of view (NPOV) would be considered ludicrous.
What? A NEUTRAL point of view? Such a hypothesis would portend that a point of view can be properly set forth as valid, genuine, authentic and defensible but also remain neutral. A neutral point of view, were it possible, is no point of view at all. This is both illogical and impossible. Anytime a point of view is combined, confused or blended with another so that its properties or constructs are clouded, weakened, confused or in any way neutralized the POV is lost and any argument of support for it is now moot. A neutral point of view exists only in the imagination of those who prefer confusion to authentic, genuine, robust argument supported with authentic and valid points of view.
A neutral point of view, were it possible, is illogical, unattainable, indefensible and irresponsible.
Therefore to argue for an imagined, impossible and unattainable neutral point of view (NPOV) is plainly ludicrous. A point of view is inherently and by definition NOT NEUTRAL. An issue or argument is either neutral, without a preferred or singular point of view, or it patently displays a defensible point of view; the lack of neutrality being self evident. It cannot be both. Hence a neutral point of view is impossible. Such a phrase taken with its normal and common sense meaning is ipso facto [by that very fact or act. factually self evident], an oxymoron per se [in itself] . The illusive unobtainable (NPOV) desired here but without convincing argument is a point of view that ignores, and negates the historical fact of Jesus Christ’s birth. Ignoring this fact and using an imagined neutral point of view, falsely so called, is disingenuous.
The Lord Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh,
was born of a virgin A.D. 2026 years ago.
He’s alive today, has always existed from eternity past as God’s eternal and everlasting Word,
and will soon return for his bride, the Church
[The body of all redeemed believers in Jesus Christ].
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:
God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit,
believed on in the world, received up into glory.
Look unto me, and be ye saved all the ends of the earth: for I am God and there is none else.
You are invited to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal savior and Lord and to confess this belief through a public confession of faith in Jesus Christ and following Him in believer’s baptism.
Jesus came from Galilee to Jordan to be baptized by John the Baptist. But, John forbad [refused] Him and said, “I have need to be baptized of You and [yet] you are coming to me?” [for baptism] And Jesus answering him said, “Suffer it to be so [Allow this to be done]: for thus it becometh us to [it is fitting for us to] fulfil all righteousness.” Matthew 3:15
Baptism is not required for salvation. Remember, Jesus said to the thief on the cross, who acknowledged his innocence and said to him [Jesus]. “Remember me when you come into your kingdom.” And Jesus said to him, “Verily [Truly] I say to you, Today you shall be with me in paradise.” Luke 23:43
The act of Baptism shows obedience in following the Lord’s ordinance and pictures His death and resurrection to atone for the sin of all who will trust Him.
Baptism also bears witness to the preaching of John the Baptist of the Kingdom of Heaven being at hand and exhorts Repentance from sin and the Baptism by immersion of atonement. Therefore, the act of baptism is not required for salvation but must occur in obedience to the ordinance of baptism and to fulfil all righteousness.
Worshiping Him in Spirit and in truth will spring-up and be manifested in a sense of gratitude. Such worship can come through prayer, Bible reading, scriptural meditation and study. Fellowship in a local church body, hearing gospel preaching and singing of sacred hymns and spiritual songs are also acts of worship and reflect active discipleship.

Pray and call on the name of the Lord Jesus and be saved … won’t you?
“Lord Jesus, I’m a lost sinner hopeless without You. I would never be able to save myself. Without your death on the cross to pay my sin debt I would be condemned to spend eternity condemned in Hell. By nature and practice I am a natural-born sinner. I’m totally depraved and I sin because I am a sinner. Please forgive me.
I realize that doing my best or being as good as possible, or being better than other people or having good excuses can never save me.
I look to You, alone Lord Jesus to save me.
I call on You, by name, Lord Jesus, right now to save me. You died on the cross in my place to pay for my sin. Your Word says, “It shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21. Thank You, Lord.
Right now, I surrender my sinful self to You, just as I am, Lord Jesus. I trust You to forgive me and save me and be my Lord and Savior.
Please forgive me for all my sins. I’m sorry for every sin (bad thoughts, words and things I have done) and look to You to forgive me of them all. I need your strength to overcome sin’s temptations. Thank you for forgiving me.
You paid the price for all of my sins by dying on the cross.
Thank you Lord Jesus that You loved me and died for me before I was born and that You still love me.
Thank you, Heavenly Father, that You have made the way to save me and have drawn me away from sin and death into Life in Your only begotten son, the Lord Jesus. He took my place, suffered and died for punishment that I deserved.
Thank You, Heavenly Father that you raised Jesus from the dead. He is ALIVE and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave. In Christ Jesus there is therefore now no condemnation.
Thank You for saving me heavenly Father and for the Holy Spirit you will send for my guidance, comfort and solemn instruction into all truth, Amen.”

The Lord Jesus *Christ

The issue comes down to the textual issue. By That, I refer to the underlying Greek text. I guess we could say texts, plural but particularly that of the New Testament. On the one hand is the Traditional Text from which the only major English translation is the King James Version of the Bible. The Traditional Text.
On the other hand, is the Critical Text sometimes called the eclectic text from whence all the other translations come. And some will say well there really is no difference between them. The difference you could amount to is just the footnotes in the bottom of a page. (This is Not true) He was not dishonest but just repeating what someone had told him.

Pilgrim Progress is the world’s most famous Allegory, It and the Bible were commonly the only books to be found in the cabin of early American Settlers and were loved and read more than any book, second only to the Holy Bible. It’s also considered, by some, as being the world’s first English novel. It’s likely the most published book other than the Bible of all time. There were 1,300 editions printed before 1938, 250 years after the Bunyan’s death. Hence, the world’s most famous Allegory.

“Christ in You”.
Spurgeon: Christ in us is Christ reigning." reminds me of Mr. Bunyan’s picture of [the town of] Mansoul, …when the Prince Immanuel laid siege to it, and Diabolus from within the city strove to keep him out. It was a, hard time for Mansoul then; but when at last the battering rams had broken down the gates, and the silver trumpets sounded, and the prince’s captains entered the breach, then on a day the prince himself did ride down the city’s streets, while liberated citizens welcomed him with all their hearts, hung out all their streamers, and made the church towers rock again as the bells rang out merry peals [happy melodies] , for the king himself was come. Up to the castle of the heart [main castle] he rode in triumph, and took his royal throne to be henceforth the sole lord and king of the city.
Christ in you is a right royal word. Christ swaying his scepter from the center of your being over every power and faculty, desire and resolve, bringing every thought into captivity to himself, Oh, this is glory begun, and the sure pledge of heaven. Oh, for more of the imperial sovereignty of Jesus, The Messiah; our liberty to be absolutely under his sway.

PRAYER 17, Part 4 of 8 TO BE LIKE CHRIST.
Alas! [Oh, dear me] we are even sometimes subject to unbelief. If trials come which we expected not [didn’t expect], or if the body grows faint, how liable we are to begin to doubt the faithful promise, and so to grieve the Holy Spirit. Lord, we cannot bear this; we cannot bear this; it is not enough for us that our garments are clean, and that we walk uprightly before men; we long to walk before Thee in such a way that there will be nothing to grieve Thy Spirit, nothing to vex [anger] the tender love of our Beloved. O, come, Divine Spirit, and exercise Thy cleansing power upon it according to Thy promise, “I will cleanse Thy blood which I have not cleansed, saith [says] the Lord, that dwelleth [lives] in Zion.”
O that everything might help us towards purity, for we crave after it; we mind [attend to] the things of the Spirit, and there is groaning within us to be utterly delivered from the things of the flesh, that we may in spirit, soul, and body, be a cleansed temple, fit for the indwelling of the Holy One of Israel. Lord, help us, we pray Thee, in our daily life, to be as Christ was.
If we are men of sorrows, may there be that luster about our sorrow which there was about His in patience and holy submission to the Divine law.
If we are men of activity, may our activity be like His, for he
“went about doing good.”
May we seek in all ways the good of our fellow-men and the glory of our God. We wish that the zeal of Thine house would eat us up [consume us] ; that we should be full of sacred warmth; that our lips were [would be] touched with the live coal so that there be fire in us perpetually flaming and burning, and ourselves a living sacrifice unto God.

ANECDOTE 267: Whosoever.
I am deeply in love with that word “who-so-ever.” It is a splendid word. A person who kept many animals had some great dogs and some little ones, and in his eagerness to let them enter his house freely he had two holes cut in the door, one for the big dogs and another for the little dogs. You may well laugh, for the little dogs could surely have come in wherever there was room for the larger ones. This “ whosoever” is the great opening, suitable for sinners of every size.

Please help me to be holy. -I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.- Galatians 2:20. In Jesus name, Amen.
I Pray also that all pastors, workers and believers everywhere rightly divide God’s everlasting Word, to declare, preach and share the good news that Jesus suffered and died on the cross so that eternal life is given to all who trust in Him. Pray that all redeemed, born-again blood-bought children of God abide faithful and share the Good News of Jesus Christ with every creature.

THE path of the Christian is not always bright with sunshine; he has his seasons of darkness and of storm. True, it is written in God's Word, "Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace," and it is a great truth, that religion is calculated to give a man happiness below as well as bliss above; but experience tells us that if the course of the just be
"As the shining light that shineth [shines] more and more unto the perfect day,"
then sometimes that light is eclipsed.
At certain periods clouds cover the believer's sun, and he walks in darkness and sees no light. There are many who have rejoiced in the presence of God for a season; they have basked in the sunshine in the earlier stages of their Christian career; they have walked along the "green pastures" by the side of the "still waters," but suddenly they find the glorious sky is clouded.
Instead of the [Promised] Land of Goshen, they have to tread the sandy desert; in the place of sweet waters, they find troubled streams, bitter to the taste, and they say,
"Surely, if I were a child of God, this would not happen."
Oh! say not this [don’t say this], you who are walking in darkness. The best of God's saints must drink the wormwood [bitterness]; the dearest of His children must bear the cross.
No Christian has enjoyed perpetual prosperity; no believer can always keep his harp [happiness] from [hanging on] the willows [trees]. [From going silent]
Perhaps the Lord allotted you at first a smooth and unclouded path because you were weak and timid. He tempered [softened] the wind to the shorn lamb [with no wool for warmth], but now that you are stronger in the spiritual life, you must enter the riper and rougher experience of God's full-grown children. We need winds and tempests to exercise our faith, to tear off the rotten bough of self-dependence, and to root us more firmly in Christ.
The day of evil reveals to us the value of our glorious hope.

HOW comprehensive is the love of Jesus! There is no part of His people's interests that He does not consider, and there is nothing that concerns their welfare that is not important to Him. Not merely does He think of you, believer, as an immortal being, but as a mortal being too. Do not deny it or doubt it:
"The very hairs of your head are all numbered." "The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he [the good man] delighteth in His [The Lord’s] way."
It would be a sad thing for us if this mantle of love did not cover all our concerns, for what mischief might be done to us in that part of our business that did not come under our gracious Lord's inspection! Believer, rest assured that the heart of Jesus cares about your common affairs [every day routines]. The breadth of His tender love is such that you may resort to Him in all matters; for all your afflictions He is afflicted, and
like as a father pities his children, so does He pity you.
The meanest [most insignificant] interests of all His saints are all borne [carried] on the broad bosom [chest] of the Son of God. Oh, what a heart is His, that does not merely comprehend [know] the persons of His people, but comprehends also the diverse and innumerable concerns of all those persons!
Do you think, 0 Christian, that you can measure the love of Christ? Think of what His love has brought you—justification, adoption, sanctification, eternal life!
The riches of His goodness are un-searchable [beyond comprehension]; you will never be able to tell them out [stop talking about them] or even conceive them.
Oh, the breadth of the love of Christ! Shall such a love as this have half our hearts? Shall it have a cold love in return? Shall Jesus' marvelous loving-kindness and tender care meet with but faint response and tardy acknowledgment?
0 my soul, tune your harp to a glad song of thanksgiving! Go to your rest rejoicing, for
you are no desolate wanderer, but
a beloved child, watched over, cared for, supplied, and defended by the Lord.

Call on the name of the Lord Jesus and be saved … pray like this, won’t you?
“Lord Jesus, I’m a lost sinner and without You I am hopeless. I can’t save myself. Without your death on the cross for my sin debt I would be condemned to spend eternity condemned to Hell. I have been self-centered from birth. Please forgive me.
I realize that doing my best, being as good as possible, or being better than other people can never save me. . I’m guilty and sorry for each and every sin I have done and look to You to forgive me of them all.
I look to You, alone Lord Jesus to save me.
I call on You, Lord Jesus, right now to save me. You died on the cross for me, because of my sin and You say, “It shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21.
Right now, just as I am, I call on You, Lord Jesus to save me, I trust You, to be my Lord and Savior from now on.
Thank You, Lord Jesus, that You have forgiven me of all my sins. I ask You to abide in me and give me the desire to always follow You.
You paid the price for all of my sins by dying on the cross. Even the sins of the whole world.
Thank you, Lord Jesus that You loved me and died for me even before I was born and that You still love me now. I love You too.
Thank you, Heavenly Father, that You have called me away from sin and death into the Life everlasting in Your only begotten son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Thank You, Heavenly Father that you raised Jesus from the dead. He is ALIVE and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave. Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. [Holy Ghost, Comforter, Spirit of Truth]
Thank You for saving me heavenly Father. With all my heart, thank you Father for saving me in Jesus’ name, Amen.

In 1870, The Anglican Church of England passed a resolution to revise the English Bible. The New Testament revision committee which finally consisted of 25 scholars (though only about 16 eventually attended the meetings) which included Westcott and Hort. The committee worked for ten years in the Jerusalem chamber, and these two scholars swept the Revision Committee along with them after work commenced. In fact, the “Cambridge trio” (Westcott, Hort and Lightfoot) colluded with others to dominate the meetings with their views of the text and to defeat any who opposed them. Their *letters reveal this conspiracy:

The only voice defending the Textus Receptus was Dr Scrivener, probably the foremost scholar of the day in the manuscripts of the Greek New Testament and the history of the Text. But he was systematically outvoted by the Cambridge trio and outdone by Hort’s powerful debating skill. When the revision was completed, the revision committee had altered the Greek Text in 5,337 places,
thus violating the original rule that had been set for the committee of not altering the Greek Text unless absolutely necessary to do so.

CONCLUSION
In conclusion, let it be said that no matter how good any modern version of the New Testament is in other ways, it is clearly blemished if the work of Westcott and Hort is present in it. The presence of their work means that it is based on a defective text. Those who want to honor the Word of God must not promote the use of any of these versions by the church, not because the content of the version is evil in itself, but because the attitude of being contented to use a blemished version rather than an existing unblemished one, dishonors God. If God has taken the trouble to preserve for His people a good Greek text of the New Testament for 18 centuries, how dishonoring it would be to Him if His people now chose instead to change over to a version that is based on a defective text.

All other versions are translated from Greek text created by either Westcott and Hort or the Nestle-Aland that was rendered by “Chery-picking” only 55 Greek manuscripts or fragments. These do not even agree with themselves and far less with the preserved and protected Textus Receptus.
