DEVOTION for November 3rd *B.C. 2025
ALL SAINTS DAY, October 31st, has been a tradition celebration date for remembering and honoring departed Christian Saints.
It is also the date that Martin Luther nailed “ A Disputation on the Power and Efficacy of Indulgences”, this is the actual title of what became known as Martin Luther’s “95 Theses” nailed to the Castle Church AKA All Saints Church in Wittenberg, Germany that brought charges against the Church’s practice of selling indulgencies. These 95 Theses are considered the beginning of and the catalyst for the Protestant Reformation.
It is also the date on which my Daddy was born in 1897. I give honor to Charles Dumah Riley; my Daddy to whom honor is due. I am so blessed to have been given to him and to my mother, Martha Eldora Bozeman born on April 27th 1900, both of whom loved me and trained me up in the way I should go. Proverbs 22:6
The Pilgrim’s Progress is presented here as a daily Audio episode. Scroll to SACEED LITERATURE to hear your selection. Charles Spurgeon read this over 100 times and would often make references to the Characters inspired and presented by its author, John Bunyan. It was written in 1678 and is the most popular English Literature title EVER (other than the Bible) and has NEVER been out of print.

Note: The New King James Version NKJV and all Bible versions that are NOT translated from the Textus Receptus [The Received Text] contain variant and inferior readings that diminish the full glory and Holy reverence contained in the 1769 Edition of the 1611 King James Version KJV Bible. The King James Version KJV also known as the Authorized King James Version AKJV or the Authorized Version AV. ALL GLORY is due to and divinely belongs to the Omnipotent Lord of ALL.
The Geneva Bible was faithfully translated from the Greek Textus Receptus also and includes the commentaries of devout and faithful men of GOD.
Only the Textus Receptus [Received Text] is produced from more than 5,321 original Majority Greek Manuscripts MT and agree 99% with one another. All other variant readings are translated from either Westcott and Hort’s or Nestle and Aland’s, Greek Texts fabricated from only a handful [45] of Majority Text Manuscripts MT and lack the trustworthiness of the inspired 1769 [1611] King James Version, KJV and the Geneva Bibles. are the only two translations from the traditional, reliable, inspired, [GOD BREATHED] immutable and providentially and divinely protected Textus Receptus.

The Bridge to Babylon video presents evidence that tracks the explosion of over 100 new version English translations of the Bible. The continuing attempts to replace, add or take away from the 1769 King James Version of the Holy Bible does not prevail because GOD Himself preserves and protects The inspired Holy Word of GOD
from all heresy, blasphemy, confusion , errors, additions, subtractions or changes.

* BCE/CE vs. BC/AD What’s the difference?
defend the Truth. Won’t you?
A.D. does NOT mean “After Death” as many mistakenly believe. It is Latin for Anno Domini, a phrase adopted into English usage that means “Year of [the/our] Lord”. The complete original phrase "anno Domini nostri Jesu Christi" means "in the year of our Lord Jesus Christ”. A.D. is used with B.C. Before Christ to divide all history before and after the birth of Jesus Christ. ...More

Should DAILYSPURGEON be trusted? Is it trustworthy?
Is it of God?
Yes! Here’s why.
Beloved ones, don’t be believing every spirit [everyone or !everything] you hear but be testing the spirit [voice] whether it is of God: because many false prophets have gone [come] out into the world. Here’s how you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit [voice] that confesses [avows] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh, having come[who came] out of God, is of God: and every spirit that confesses not [doesn’t audibly avow] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
I hereby confess, audibly, that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh.
[All translations of the Bible that use any Greek text other than the traditional and faithful Textus Receptus ignore the word “ictin” [the Greek word for “is” in English]. This omission causes the meaning of “is here” to change from “is come” [is here] to “has come”.
This error is self-evident as non-believers, false prophets and heretics can, and frequently do, declare that He “has come” [in the flesh].
While this is a true statement, taken at face value, the meaning “has come” is clearly not the same as “is here” ; which is the valid, test of discernment between the Spirit of God and the spirit of antichrist.
The most well documented fact in all of human history is that Jesus Christ [The Messiah] “has come” in the flesh. However, the question of far greater importance, is not whether the spirit [of a word or from a person] being considered and tested confesses that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh but, whether the confession being made affirms that Jesus Christ, “is come” [is here], from God, in the flesh.
30 for we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32
This is a great mystery: but I [Apostle Paul] speak concerning Christ and the church. [The body of CHRIST]
Consider scripture with scripture: Precept upon precept, Line upon line.
“I speak concerning Christ and the church.” [the fleshly embodiment, here and now , of the body of Christ]. Because followers of Jesus Christ are members of the incarnate Body of Christ [The Church]

DAILY SPURGEON and DEVOTION for November 3rd.
TODAY’S DEVOTION Written and calendared for November 3rd by Charles Spurgeon
SERMON: from Spurgeon’s Metropolitan Tabernacle (London)
Four Pillars on Faithfulness Jude 1:20-25 with Dr. Peter Masters
PRAISE: November 3rd The Lord’s Prayer by Andrea Bocelli…be filled with the Spirit; speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody [music] in your heart to the Lord; Ephesians 5:18-19
PRAYER 14, Part 4 of 8 November 3rd
BLESS THE LORD, O MY SOUL!
[Heavenly Father] May every child of Thine [Yours] have his conscience purged [emptied] from dead works to serve the true and living God. May there be no cloud between us and [You] our Heavenly Father; nay, not even a mist, not even the morning mist that soon is gone. May we walk in the light as God is in the light. May our fellowship with the Father [You, Father] and with His [Your] Son, Jesus Christ, be unquestionable; may it be fuel; may it fill us with joy; may it be a most real fact this day; may we enjoy it to the full, knowing whom we have believed, knowing [You] who is our Father, knowing who it is that dwells in us, even the Holy Spirit. [I pray this In the name of the Lord Jesus, Amen.]

ANECDOTE 94: November 3rd Vagrant Thoughts.
I remember a certain narrow and crooked lane in a certain country town, along which I was walking one day, while I was seeking the Savior [the Lord Jesus]. On a sudden the most fearful oaths [profanity] that any of you can conceive rushed through my mind. I put my hand to my mouth to prevent the utterance. I had not, that I know of, ever heard these words; and I am certain that I had never used in my life, from my youth up, so much as one of them, for I had never been profane. But these things sorely beset [really bothered] me; for half an hour together the most fearful imprecations [curses] would dash through my brain. Oh, how I groaned and cried before God.
That temptation passed away; but ere [before] many days it was renewed again; and when I was in prayer, or when I was reading the Bible, these blasphemous thoughts would pour in upon me more than at any other time. I consulted with an aged godly man about it. He said to me, “Oh, all this [unclean thoughts] many of the people of God have proved [been tested by this] before you. “But,” said he, “do you hate these thoughts ?” “I do,” I truly said. “Then,” said he, “they are not yours; serve them as the old parishes used to do with vagrants. Whip them and send them on to their own parish. Groan over them, repent of them, and send them on to the devil, the father, [of them] to whom they belong for they are not yours.”
Do you not recollect how John Bunyan [Author of the World’s best selling and most famous allegory, Pilgrim’s Progress ] hits off the picture? [deals with the issue of unclean thoughts] He says, when Christian [the Pilgrim] was going through the valley of the shadow of death, “There stepped up one to him, and whispered blasphemous thoughts into his ear, so that poor Christian thought they were his own thoughts; but they were not his thoughts at all, but the injections of a blasphemous spirit.” So when you are about to lay hold on Christ, Satan will ply [use] all his engines [lies] and try to destroy you. He cannot bear to lose one of his slaves; he will invent a fresh temptation for each believer, so that he may not put his trust in Christ.”
[Praise the Lord, Jesus came and destroyed, once and for all, the works of the devil.
He is forevermore a defeated foe. AMEN!]
FAITH’S CHECKBOOK November 3rd C.H. Spurgeon 1834-1892
IN GOD’S TIME
-For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: [even] though it tarry [doesn’t come right now], wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry [be late] - Habakkuk 2:3
-Aunque la vision tardara aun por tiempo, mas al fin hablara, y no mentira: aunque se tardare, esperalo, que sin duda vendra; no tardara - Habacuc 2:3
Mercy may seem slow, but it is sure. The Lord in unfailing wisdom has appointed a time for the outgoings of His gracious power, and God’s time is the best time.
We are in a hurry; the vision of the blessing excites our desire, and hastens our longings; but the Lord will keep His appointments. He never is before His time; He never is behind. God’s word is here spoken of as a living thing which will speak, and will come. It is never a dead [lost] letter, as we are tempted to fear when we have long watched for its fulfillment.
The living word is on the way from the living God, and though it may seem to linger, it is not in reality doing so. God’s train is not behind time [late]. It is only a matter of patience, and we shall soon see for ourselves the faithfulness of the Lord. No promise of His shall fail; -it will not lie.- No promise of His will be lost in silence; -it shall speak.- What comfort, it will speak to the believing ear!
No promise of His shall need to be renewed like a bill which could not be paid on the day in which it fell due -it will not tarry-.
Come, my soul, [Come-on now] canst thou not [can’t you] wait for thy [your] God? Rest in Him and be still [at peace] in unutterable peacefulness.
Prayer: Thank You Lord that Your blessings will never be late nor fail. Thank You that Your timing is always perfect. Help me, dear Lord, to be patient and at peace as I wait.
I pray this in Your name Lord Jesus, Amen.

… and pray for the saving of souls and strengthening of believers.
The Lord … is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Pray also that believers will be taught by the Holy Spirit to rightly divide God’s eternal Word preserved by God, Himself.
God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten [supernaturally fathered] Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but may be having eternal life.
John 3:16 vis. Textus Receptus [The Received Greek Text] (The overwhelming majority of extant New Testament Greek texts.)
Incomplete codices Sinaiticus and Vaticanus are not considered to be majority texts [Masoretic and Textus Receptus]. They predate majority texts and bring variant readings from those established, overwhelmingly, in majority texts. They often disagree with one another and with the settled majority texts thus, apparently justifying, the need for additional editions. These unsettled differences and bolstering of certain sectarian doctrine [dogma] have produced many ambiguous readings; translations not supported by majority Greek and Hebrew texts and confusion in the explosion of so many new Bible translations.
Publishers are cashing-in by marketing “new and better” English translations of The Bible, the world’s best seller of all time, with little concern about maintaining the fidelity and accuracy already settled from the majority manuscripts of the Masoretic Hebrew and the Textus Receptus Greek.
God, Himself, has and will always preserve His immutable [unchanging and unchangeable], eternal, inerrant, infallible, infinite and all-powerful Word to the whole world.
MORNING November 3rd
"Behold, he prayeth [He prays]. "— Acts 9:11
—He aquí, él ora Hechos 9:11
PRAYERS are instantly noticed in heaven. The moment Saul began to pray the Lord heard him. Here is comfort for the distressed but praying soul. Oftentimes a poor broken-hearted one bends his knee, but can only utter [make audible] his wailing in the language of signs and tears; yet that groan has made all the harps of heaven thrill with music; that tear has been caught by God and treasured in the lachrymatory [tear-bottle] of heaven. “Thou puttest [You put] my tears into Thy [your] bottle,” implies that they are caught [and kept] as they flow.
The suppliant [the one praying], whose fears prevent his words, will be well understood by the Most High. He may only look up with misty eye; but "prayer is the falling of a tear." Tears are the diamonds of heaven; sighs are a part of the music of Jehovah's court and are numbered with "the sublimest [most heavenly] strains that reach the majesty on high." Think not that your prayer, however weak or trembling, will be un-regarded. Jacob's ladder is lofty [very tall], but our prayers shall lean on the Angel of the covenant and so climb its starry rungs [steps]. Our God not only hears prayer but also loves to hear it.
"He forgetteth [forgets] not the cry of the humble." True, He regards not high looks and lofty words; He cares not for the pomp and pageantry of kings; He listens not to the swell of martial [parade] music; He regards not the triumph and pride of man. But wherever there is a heart big with sorrow, or a lip quivering with agony, or a deep groan, or a penitential sigh, the heart of Jehovah is open.
He marks it down in the registry of His memory; He puts our prayers, like rose leaves, between the pages of His book of remembrance, and when the volume is opened at last, there shall be a precious fragrance springing up therefrom.
Faith asks no signal from the skies,
To show that prayers accepted rise,
Our Priest is in His holy place,
And answers from the throne of grace.
EVENING November 3rd
"Their prayer came up to His holy dwelling place, even unto heaven. "
— 2 Chronicles 30:27
—Su oración llegó á la habitación de su santuario, al cielo— 2 Crónicas 30:27
PRAYER is the never-failing resort of the Christian in any case, in every plight [difficulty]. When you cannot use your sword, you may take to the weapon of prayer. Your [gun] powder may be damp, your bow-string may be relaxed, but the weapon of prayer need never be out of order.
Leviathan [the whale] laughs at the javelin, but he trembles at prayer. Sword and spear need furbishing [sharpening and maintenance], but prayer never rusts, and when we think it most blunt [the dullest] it cuts the best. Prayer is an open door which none can shut. Devils may surround you on all sides, but the way upward is always open, and as long as that road is un obstructed, you will not fall into the enemy's hand. We can never be taken by blockade, escalade [climbing the walls of a fort by ladders], mine [explosives], or storm, so long as heavenly succors [helps] can come down to us by Jacob's ladder to relieve us in the time of our necessities.
Prayer is never out of season; [at the wrong time] in summer and in winter its merchandise is precious. Prayer gains audience with heaven in the dead of night, in the midst of business, in the heat of noonday, in the shades of evening. In every condition, whether of poverty, or sick ness, or obscurity, or slander, or doubt, your covenant God will welcome your prayer and answer it from His holy place.
Nor is prayer ever futile. [never useless] True prayer is evermore true power. You may not always get what you ask, but you will always have your real wants supplied. When God does not answer His children according to the letter, He does so according to the spirit. If you ask for coarse meal, will you be angered because He gives you the finest flour?
If you seek bodily health, should you complain if instead He makes your sickness turn to the healing of spiritual maladies? Is it not better to have the cross sanctified than removed? This evening, my soul, forget not to offer your petition and request, for the Lord is ready to grant you your desires.
A SINNER’S PRAYER:
Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21
Pray and call on the name of the Lord Jesus.
Pray like this, won’t you? :
“Lord Jesus, I’m a lost sinner hopeless without You. I would never be able to save myself. Without your death on the cross to pay my sin debt I would be condemned to spend eternity condemned in Hell. By nature and practice I am a natural-born sinner. I’m totally depraved and I sin because I am a sinner. Please forgive me.
I realize that doing my best or being as good as possible, or being better than other people or having good excuses can never save me.
I look to You, alone Lord Jesus to save me.
I call on You, by name, Lord Jesus, right now to save me. You died on the cross in my place to pay for my sin. Your Word says, “It shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21. Thank You, Lord.
Right now, I surrender my sinful self to You, just as I am, Lord Jesus. I trust You to forgive me and save me and be my Lord and Savior.
Please forgive me for all my sins. I’m sorry for every sin (bad thoughts, words and things I have done) and look to You to forgive me of them all. I need your strength to overcome sin’s temptations. Thank you for forgiving me.
You paid the price for all of my sins by dying on the cross.
Thank you Lord Jesus that You loved me and died for me before I was born and that You love me still.
Thank you Heavenly Father that You have made the way of redemption, forgiveness and atonement for me and have drawn me away from sin and death into Life in Your only begotten son. He took my place and suffered my punishment.
Thank You, Heavenly Father that you raised Jesus from the dead. He is ALIVE and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave. In Christ Jesus there is therefore now no condemnation.
Thank You for saving me heavenly Father and for sending the Holy Spirit for my guidance, comfort and solemn instruction into all truth, Amen.”
With all my heart, I thank you Lord Jesus for saving me. In your name, Lord Jesus I pray, Amen.
Please allow us to rejoice over your new birth in the presence of angels in heaven who rejoice over one sinner that repents. Luke 15:10

SACRED LITERATURE:
ORIGINAL: The Pilgrim’s Progress Pub. by Logos,1853 from 1678 Original by John Bunyan
REVISED TEXT by Barry E. Horner: The Pilgrim’s Progrefs [sic]...
in Pilgrim’s Progress. (The World’s most widely circulated Allegory by John Bunyan, also credited, by some, as being the world’s first English novel.
IT’S FREE. No subscription required. You may choose to read at your own pace, or you may want to view DailySpugeon.com for daily encounters with Pilgrim.)
"Christ in us is Christ reigning." reminds me [Spurgeon's comment] of Mr. Bunyan’s picture of [the town of] Mansoul, …when the Prince Immanuel laid siege to it, and Diabolus from within the city strove to keep him out. It was a, hard time for Mansoul then; but when at last the battering rams had broken down the gates, and the silver trumpets sounded, and the prince’s captains entered the breach, then on a day the prince himself did ride down the city’s streets, while liberated citizens welcomed him with all their hearts, hung out all their streamers, and made the church towers rock again as the bells rang out merry peals [melody] , for the king himself was come. Up to the castle of the heart he rode in triumph, and took his royal throne to be henceforth the sole lord and king of the city.
Christ in you is a right royal word. Christ swaying his scepter from the center of your being over every power and faculty, desire and resolve, bringing every thought into captivity to himself, oh, this is glory begun, and the sure pledge of heaven. Oh for more of the imperial sovereignty of Jesus; it is our liberty to be absolutely under his sway.
