Can I trust this website?

Beloved ones, don’t be believing every spirit [everything you hear] but be testing the spirit whether it is of God: because many false prophets have come out in the world. Here’s how you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit [voice] that confesseth  [confesses] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh, having come out of God, is of God: and every spirit [voice] that confesseth [confesses] not that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

 1 John 4:1-3

Hence: "Jesus Christ is come [is here]  in the flesh."

He has always existed as the WORD of God. John 1:1-2

He was born of a virgin 2,021 years ago in Bethlehem,

is alive today, and is coming soon for His bride; the Church

"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:

God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit,

believed on in the world, received up into glory."

1 Timothy 3:16

Its the privilege and duty of every believer to Love and worship God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, in Spirit and in truth.

“Study to show yourself approved unto God, a worker that needs not be ashamed, rightly dividing [sharing] the word of truth.”

2 Timothy 2:15

To this end, Heavenly Father, we pray that You will bless all who visit this web siteom and bring many to faith in Christ Jesus, We ask this in Jesus’ name and for His sake, Amen.

Caution: We do not promote or condone the forsaking of the assembling together as is the manner of some. This website does not replace nor can it substitute for the assembling of ourselves together with others to exhort one another in the WORD and to provoke one another unto love and good works . Hebrews 10:23-27

Rather, we desire this website to encourage believers in personal devotional exercises and worship as we are being conformed to Christ’s image.

"For whom God did foreknow he did also predestinate to be conformed to the image of his son."   Romans 8:29

An in-person assembly of believers, gathered for praising and worshiping the Lord Jesus Christ is essential and can never be supplanted or replaced.  Such group worship may come through the Hearing and heeding of face-to-face Gospel preaching, congregational singing of sacred hymns, the reading of God’s Word, sharing Christian love and fellowship, public prayer, and also a place where assembled believers can consider and exhort one another in the Word, and provoke one another unto love and good works and bear witness with one another in the Holy Spirit.

Virtual digital communication can never replace assembling ourselves together. It requires no personal  interaction, investment, commitment, or personal vulnerability, and cannot deliver a comforting human touch. e.g. Laying on of hands etc.

Personal devotionals encourage us to obey the scripture:

“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman  that needeth [needs] not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:1

Remembering Jon Edward Riley (1971-2021) with joy. Jon would often just bust-out singing some of the following songs; sometimes, on the way to church, sometimes just singing along with Elvis’ Gospel CD that was always in the truck’s CD player or,

the best, was when a spontaneous song from the Lord would pop out from his joyful and loving heart.

…Jon would always say “Later”; [as in see-yah later] instead of “good bye”. It was his only farewell greeting when parting company with a friend; and, everyone was Jon’s friend.

… He would never say “good-bye”.

Now, as we remember the sound of him saying “Later”, it rings true as to its new and deeper meaning and it brings a joy and comfort to the hearts of those whom he loved so well; those who love him still and will always, and forever more.

SACRED LITERATURE:

THE PILGRIM’S PROGRESS by John Bunyan

ORIGINAL PRINT: The Pilgrim’s Progress Part I  Pub. by Logos in 1853 from Bunyan's 1678 Original.

REVISED VERSION PRINT: by Barry E. Horner: The Pilgrim’s Progrefs [sic] ©1999

The Pilgrim Progress is the world’s most widely published and most famous   Allegory, It was commonly found among he scant possessions in the cabins of the early American Pioneers. It was loved and read, second only to the Holy Bible, God’s Word, of guidance, encouragement and comfort. It’s also considered, by some, to be the world’s first English novel and is the most published book of all time. other than the Bible. There were 1,300 editions printed before 1938, 250 years after the author's death. It remains among the world’s most famous literature.

Reference to Pilgrim’s Progress in a printed Spurgeon Sermon:

Christ in you, the hope of glory.”—Colossians 1:27

Excerpt:

"Christ in us is Christ reigning." reminds me [Spurgeon] of Mr. Bunyan’s picture in The Pilgrim’s Progress. of [the town of] Mansoul, …when the Prince Immanuel laid siege to it, and Diabolus from within the city strove to keep him out. It was a, hard time for Mansoul then; but when at last the battering rams [ancient weapons of war] had broken down the gates, and the silver trumpets sounded, and the prince’s captains entered the breach, then on a day the prince himself did ride down the city’s streets, while liberated citizens welcomed him with all their hearts, hung out all their streamers, and made the church towers rock again as the bells rang out merry peals [melodies], for the king himself was come. Up to the castle of the heart [main castle] he rode in triumph, and took his royal throne to be henceforth the sole lord and king of the city.

Christ in you is a right royal word. Christ swaying his scepter from the center of your being over every power and faculty, desire and resolve, bringing every thought into captivity to himself, oh, this is glory begun, and the sure pledge of heaven. Oh for more of the imperial sovereignty of Jesus; it is our liberty to be absolutely under his sway.

Spurgeon’s Full Sermon (in print): Christ in You, May 13, 1883 Scripture: Colossians 1:27 From: Metropolitan Tabernacle Pulpit, Volume 29 (cit. II. The Mystery of this is Christ In You, § 5)

It will bless, strengthen, encourage and instruct pilgrims (readers and seekers) of all ages for a life-time.

Index of 533 Scriptures cited in Pilgrim’s Progress by John Bunyan

John Bunyan did not write or set forth any world view of any kind. His masterful allegory, demonstrably displays that his view is not a world view at all but is simply God’s Word, described and forever settled in heaven, The Holy Bible.

Bunyan merely, but ardently trusted in God’s Word; the God-breathed [divinely inspired], Self-authenticating, Providentially-protected immutable, inerrant, infallible, and inextinguishable written Word from GOD Himself. God, the omnipotent, omnipresent, righteous and Holy One, has breathed out His Word and has made His Word flesh in the birth of Jesus Christ. God’s Word is now, has always been and will forever be in perfect accord with Himself and the Spirit of Truth.

God’s infinite Love and Grace to redeem all fallen, hell-bound sinners who will look to Him is revealed by the sacrifice of His only begotten [fathered by God] Son, Jesus Christ.

The story given to Bunyan is in the form of a dream. Never the less, it imparts wisdom and may encourage soul-searching self-reflection to all pilgrims who seek redemption and eternal life. Many scripture references will  be captured and remembered from its reading [listening].

PRAYER 3, Part 1 of 5 January 12th  THE LOVE WITHOUT MEASURE OR END

LORD, we would come to Thee, but do Thou come to us [You come to us]. Draw us and we will run after Thee. Blessed Spirit, help our infirmities, for we know not what we should pray for as we ought.

Come, Holy Spirit, and give right thoughts and right utterance [words] that we may all be able to pray in the common prayer, the whole company feeling that for each one there is a portion [part].

We are grateful as we remember that if the minister in the sanctuary should not be able to pray for any one of us there is One who bears the names of all His redeemed upon His breast, and upon His shoulder, who will take care with the love of His heart and the power of His hand to maintain the cause of all His own.

[In the name of the Lord Jesus, Amen.]

ANECDOTE 163: January 12th  DEATH SETS US FREE.

I am told that persons who in the cruel ages had lain in prison for years suffered much more in the moment of the knocking off of their fetters [ iron shackles] than they had endured for months in wearing the hard iron; and yet I suppose that no man languishing [existing with declining health] in a dungeon would have been unwilling to stretch out his arm or leg, that the heavy chains might be beaten off by the smith. [blacksmith]

We should all be content to endure that little inconvenience to obtain lasting liberty.

Now, such is death the knocking off of the fetters ; yet the iron may never seem to be so truly iron as when that last liberating blow of grace is about to fall. Let us not mind the harsh grating of the key as it turns in the lock; if we understand it aright [correctly] it will be as music to our ears. Imagine that your last hour is come ! The key turns with pain for a moment; but, lo, the bolt is shot! [it flies open] The iron gate is open! The spirit is free!

Glory be unto the Lord for ever and ever!

FAITH’S CHECKBOOK January 12th  LOVE UNTO THE END

By C.H. Spurgeon 1834-1892

-For the Lord will not cast off for ever- Lamentations 3:31

-Porque el Senor no desechará para siempre:- Lamentations 3:31

He may cast away for a season, but not for ever. A woman may leave off her ornaments [jewelry] for a few days, but she will not forget them, nor throw them upon the dunghill [into the garbage can]. It is not like the Lord to cast off those whom He loves: for,

-having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.-

Some talk of our being in grace and out of it, as if we were like rabbits that run in and out of their burrows: but, indeed, it is not so. The Lord’s love is a far more serious and abiding matter than this.

He chose us from eternity [past] , and He will love us throughout [all] eternity. He loved us so as to die for us, and we may therefore be sure that His love will never die. His honor is so wrapped up in the salvation of the believer, that He can no more cast him off than He can cast off His own robes of office [royal robes] as King of glory.

No, no! The Lord Jesus, as a Head, never casts off His members; as a Husband, He never casts off His bride.

Did you think you were cast off? Why did you think so evil of the Lord who has betrothed you [made a divine engagement marriage with you] to Himself?

Cast off [throw away] such thoughts, and never let them lodge in your soul again. -The Lord hath not cast away his people which he foreknew- (Romans 11:2).

-He hateth [hates] putting away [divorce]- (Malachi 2:16). ________________________________________

… and pray for the saving of souls and strengthening  of believers.

The Lord … is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

2 Peter 3:9

Pray also that believers will be taught by the Holy Spirit to rightly divide God’s eternal Word preserved and protected by God, Himself.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten [supernaturally fathered] Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

John 3:16

The Textus Receptus TR [Received Text] is the faithfully rendered Greek text with an overwhelming agreement in and among the majority of the 5,321 extant New Testament, Greek manuscripts  known as the  MT. [Majority Text]. The Old Testament Hebrew and Aramaic manuscripts were meticulously copied by hand [manuscript] by the Masoretic scribes. These are the manuscripts  from which  the Original King James version  was translated onto English.

In order for Westcott & Hort and Nestle & Aland to create the Modern Greek to create  the many variant reaings brought through highly nuanced readings from the Critical Text theory.  Only Fifty-five 55 manuscripts from the 5,321 Majority Text MT were hand-picked and they were not from the foundational text from which the Textus Receptus was rendered but were selected from  the inferior Sinaiticus and Vaticanus codices. These fifty-five manuscripts  brought  variant readings and were created, ostensibly, to justify the creation of an alternative Greek text to the Textus Receptus which had been under spurious attack by Westcott & Hort and Nestle & Aland for many years.

The Codices known as Sinaiticus and Vaticanus are inferior because they often are in disagreement with the Textus Receptus and incredibly, with one another. They give rise to variant readings and embrace secular doctrine bias not supported by scripture translated from the Majority Text or Textus Receptus.  They have been infused by  invented Greek text where an absence of Greek text from the Fifty-five hand-picked manuscripts was found.

They invented but did not disclose themselves as the source  of the new Greek translation.  They supplied this new Greek translation to all Committee members with the aim to revise the King James Bible. However, They insisted on a code of silence as to the authorship of the Greek Text from which all the Revisions were to be based. All members of the committee were required to agree to this code.

Modern textual criticism is based on the assumption that older manuscripts are, de-facto, more accurate. Actually, the continuous and unsettled changes from their  variant readings reflect error, doctrinal ambiguities and biases not supported by the Majority Text.

Scripture based on The Greek text of Westcott &  Hort and Nestle & Aland of a secular or denominational tradition allow modern textual criticism  to  rob God of His Sovereignty, Omnipotence, Omnipresence, Immutability, Inerrancy and  Infallibility and to diminish Glory from His infinite and everlasting “I AM” that deserves and demands ALL GLORY!

For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in Heaven. Psalm 119:89

God is not the author of confusion. 1 Corinthians 4:33

God, Himself, providentially protects and preserves all of His inspired WORD.  HIS God-breathed, self-authenticating, immutable [unchanging and unchangeable], eternal, everlasting inerrant, infallible, infinite and all-powerful [omnipotent] Word.

MORNING January 12

Ye are Christ's."— 1 Corinthians 3:23

- Vosotros de Cristo¾ 1 Corintios 3:23

“YE [you all] are Christ's.” You are His

by donation, [a gift] for the Father gave you to the Son;

[you are] His

by His bloody purchase,

for He counted down [counted out] the price for your redemption [ransom for your salvation and restoration];

[you all are] His

by dedication,

for you have consecrated [solemnly dedicated] yourself to Him;

[you all are] His

by relation,

for you are named by His name, and made one of His brethren [brothers] and joint heirs. Labor practically to show the world that you are the servant, the friend, the bride of Jesus. When tempted to sin, reply,

"I cannot do this great wickedness, for I am Christ's."

Immortal [everlasting] principles forbid the friend of Christ to sin. When wealth is before you to be won by sin, say that you are Christ's, and touch it not [don’t touch it] . Are you exposed to difficulties and dangers? Stand fast [firm] in the evil day [of temptation], remembering that you are Christ's.

Are you placed where others are sitting down idly, doing nothing? Rise to the work with all your powers [strength] ; and when the sweat stands on your brow [forehead], and you are tempted to loiter, [goof-off or loaf] cry,

"No, I cannot stop [waste time], for I am Christ's.

If I were not purchased by blood, I might be like Issachar [Son of Jacob (Israel) and Leah one of the 12 tribes of Israel] , crouching between two burdens [hiding to avoid making a decision] ; but I am Christ's, and cannot loiter [waste time]." When the siren song of pleasure would tempt you from the path of right, reply,

"Your music cannot charm [entice] me; I am Christ's."

When the cause of God invites you, give yourself to it; when the poor ask of you, give your goods and yourself away, for you are Christ's.

Never belie [deny or disguise] your [Christian] profession.

Be ever one of those whose manners are Christian, whose speech is like [Jesus] the Nazarene, whose conduct and conversation are so redolent [permeated with the fragrance] of heaven that all who see you may know that you are the Savior's, recognizing in you His features of love and His countenance [facial expression] of holiness.

"I am a Roman!" was a reason for integrity in the past; far more, then, let your argument for holiness be

"I am Christ's!" [I am Christ-ian]

EVENING January 12

"I have yet to speak on God's behalf. Job 36:2

- Todivia tengo rezones en orden á Dios- Job 36:2

WE ought not to court publicity [seek fame] for our virtue, or notoriety for our zeal [enthusiasm]; but, at the same time, it is a sin to be always seeking to hide that which God has bestowed on us for the good of others.

A Christian is not to be a village in a valley, but

"a city set upon a hill."

He is not to be a candle under a bushel, but a candle in a candlestick, giving light to all.

Retirement may be lovely in its season, and to hide oneself is modest, but the hiding of Christ in us can never be justified, and the keeping back of truth that is precious to us is a sin against others and an offence against God.

If you are of a nervous temperament and of a reserved disposition, take care that you do not indulge too much in this trembling propensity [inclination], lest you become useless to the church.

In the name of Him [Jesus Christ] who was not ashamed of you, seek to overcome your feelings, and tell to others what Christ has told to you. If you cannot speak with trumpet tongue, use the still small voice. If the pulpit cannot be your tribune, if the [printing] press may not carry your words on its wings, yet say with Peter and John,

“Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee.”

If you cannot preach a sermon on the mountain, talk to the Samaritan woman by Sychar's well. Utter the praises of Jesus in the house, if not in the temple; in the field, if not upon the exchange; in the midst of your own household [in your world], if you cannot in the midst of the great family of man. From the hidden springs within let sweetly flowing rivulets of testimony flow forth, giving drink to every passer-by.

Do not hide your talent; trade with it; and you will bring in good interest for your Lord and Master. To speak for God will be refreshing to us, cheering to saints, useful to sinners, and honoring to the Savior. Dumb children are an affliction to their parents.

Lord, unloose all Your children's tongues.

A SINNER’S PRAYER: … FOR WHOSOEVER:

Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21

Call on the name of the Lord Jesus and be saved … pray like this, won’t you?

“Lord Jesus, I’m a lost sinner and without You I am lost. I can’t save myself. Without your death on the cross to pay my sin debt I would be condemned to spend eternity in Hell. My nature and behavior has been sinful from birth. Please forgive me.

I realize that doing my best, being as good as possible, or being better than other people can never save me. . I’m sorry for each and every sin I have ever done and look to You to forgive them all.

I look to You, alone Lord Jesus to save me.

I call on You, Lord Jesus, right now to save me. You died on the cross for me, as God’s sacrifice for my sin.

Right now, just as I am, I call on You, Lord Jesus to save me, I trust You to be my Savior and Lord.

Thank You, Lord Jesus, that You have forgiven me of all my sins. I want to follow You from now on.

You paid the price for all of my sins by dying on the cross.

Thank you, Lord Jesus that You loved me and died for me before I was born and that You love me still

Thank you, Heavenly Father, that You called me away from sin and death into the Life everlasting in Your only begotten son, the Lord Jesus.

Thank You, Heavenly Father that you raised Jesus from the dead. He is alive and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave.

Thank You for saving me heavenly Father and Holy Spirit for Your comfort and guidance in all things.

With all my heart, thank you Lord Jesus for saving me. In your name, I pray, Amen.

MISSION PURPOSE:

Our aim is to trust and obey the Lord Jesus Christ in everything. We rely wholly upon the Holy Spirit to impart God’s divine revelation to us from His Word, the Holy Bible. With God’s help, we will follow Jesus. We expect that lost souls will be saved, believers, comforted, strengthened and encouraged. To God be all the glory.

The Bible is God’s divinely inspired [God breathed] revealed, infinite, eternal, inerrant, infallible, immutable Word to all mankind. This divine, supernatural Word brings all revealed truth to the world. We purpose, therefore, to follow God’s Holy Word, Personal guidance and guidance to the local church comes by His Word.

Hence, we resolve, God helping us, to read, study, meditate-on, trust-in and obey God’s revealed and divinely preserved Word, holding it to be the supreme authority and the only divinely established Stare Decisis [Latin: to stand by that which is decided] in all things.

Therefore, the purpose of The John Mark Publishing Company is to publish and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every creature, ministering God’s love to all, especially those in the household of faith. The Bible is God’s everlasting, inspired, (God breathed) inerrant, infallible, unchangeable, divinely protected and preserved Word of love and salvation to the entire world. It is also the essential foundation of this ministry.

History: The inspired preaching, teaching and writing of Charles Haddon Spurgeon is all empowered by God’s revealed Word the Bible. His written publications continue to benefit readers through authentic Gospel preaching and sound biblical teaching. This ministry continues to flourish through The Metropolitan Tabernacle in London

We present Spurgeon's printed materials for the edification of the church as well as for the benefit, blessing and gospel challenge to all readers. Our desire is that the written Word of God will become the Living Word in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ to each and every reader.

To this end, this website is offered to encourage and provide opportunity to hear Gospel preaching, and to engage in daily devotional meditation, Bible study and prayer. Careful adherence to Spurgeon’s calendar and original, unabridged text is given herein.

Published Titles from Spurgeon’s written work are solely used as the resource from which

(1834-1892). No known servant of God has left a greater legacy of gospel exposition and preaching than Charles Haddon Spurgeon. He has been widely read with great benefit from the 1800’s to the present time.

He was the venerable previous pastor of The Metropolitan Tabernacle in London, England.  The church is thriving TODAY.  It has been faithful and has continued to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ without compromise.

Prayer: Dear Lord, empower your ministry to win many souls, and serve those in need, especially those in the household of faith, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

Disclaimer: The John Mark Publishing Company does not solicit praise of Charles H. Spurgeon or his writing or preaching. He didn’t need or want it then and wouldn’t desire it now. Our aim is to lift up and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and to preach Christ Jesus only and him crucified.

Precaution: These Messages and prayers will not substitute for continual fellowship with the Lord Jesus or for gathering in in-person worship. Neither will they replace personal reading, meditation, prayer and fasting over God's divinely preserved and eternal Word imparted by the Holy Spirit.

The Authorized King James Version (AKJV), also known as the Authorized Version (AV), is the authentic English Bible because it is rendered [translated into English] accurately and faithfully from the established majority of the Greek Textus Receptus [received text] manuscripts of the New Testament and the Hebrew Masoretic Text of the Old Testament (The Jewish Tanakh)  These manuscripts are providentially protected of God, and always give a greater glory to God when compared to variant readings. The established majority manuscripts avoid doctrinal error, inaccuracies in translation, uninspired editorial notations, variant or ambiguous readings taken from Codices Vaticanus, or Sinaiticus.
