DEVOTION for November 5th *B.C. 2025

________________________________________________

All Bible versions NOT  translated from the Textus Receptus [The (traditional) Received Text] include variant  readings that diminish the full  glory and the most Holy reverence due to Almighty GOD, that He preserves and protects it immutable in the 1769 Edition of the 1611 King James Version  KJV Bible. This version is also known as the Authorized King James  Version  AKJV and the  Authorized Version AV. ALL GLORY is due to and must be given to the Omnipotent Lord of ALL.

The Geneva Bible was also faithfully translated from the Greek Textus Receptus and includes  commentaries from inspired, devoted,  faithful men of GOD; Believers beyond reproach.

Only the traditional Textus Receptus [Received GreekText] was produced  from more than 5,321 original Majority Greek Manuscripts MT and agree 99% with one another. All other variant readings are translated from  either Westcott and Hort’s or Nestle and Aland’s, Greek Texts  fabricated from only a handful [45] of Majority Text Manuscripts MT and  lack the  trustworthiness of  the inspired 1769 [1611] King James Version, KJV and the Geneva Bibles. are the only two translations from the traditional, reliable, inspired, [GOD BREATHED] immutable  and providentially and divinely protected Textus Receptus.

The Bridge to Babylon video presents evidence that tracks the explosion of over 100 new version English translations  of the Bible. The continuing attempts to replace, add or take away from the 1769 King James Version of the Holy Bible does not  prevail because GOD Himself preserves and protects The  inspired Holy Word of GOD

from all heresy, blasphemy, confusion , errors, additions, subtractions or changes.

* BCE/CE  vs.  BC/AD     What’s the difference?
defend the Truth.   Won’t you?

A.D. does NOT mean “After Death” as many mistakenly believe. It is Latin for Anno Domini,  a  phrase adopted into English usage that means  “Year of [the/our] Lord”.  The complete  original phrase "anno Domini nostri Jesu Christi" means "in the year of our Lord Jesus Christ”. A.D. is used with B.C. Before Christ  to divide all history before and after the birth of Jesus Christ.   ...More

Should  DAILYSPURGEON  be trusted? Is it trustworthy?

Is it of God?

Yes! Here’s why.

1 John 4:1-3

Beloved ones, don’t be believing every spirit [everyone or !everything] you hear but be testing the spirit [voice] whether it is of God: because many false prophets have gone [come] out into the world. Here’s how you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit [voice] that confesses [avows] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh, having come[who came] out of God, is of God: and every spirit that confesses not [doesn’t audibly avow] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

I hereby confess, audibly,  that Jesus Christ is come   [is here] in the flesh.

[All translations of the Bible that use any Greek text other than the traditional and faithful Textus Receptus ignore the word “ictin” [the Greek word for “is” in English].  This omission causes the meaning of “is here” to  change from “is come” [is here] to “has come”.

This error is self-evident as non-believers, false prophets and heretics can, and frequently do, declare that He “has come” [in the flesh].

While this is a true statement, taken at face value, the  meaning  “has come” is clearly not the same as “is here” ; which is the valid, test of  discernment between the Spirit of God and the spirit of antichrist.

The most well documented fact in all of human history is that Jesus Christ [The Messiah]  “has come” in the flesh. However, the question of far greater importance,  is not whether the spirit [of a word or from a person] being considered and tested confesses that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh but, whether the confession being made affirms that Jesus Christ, “is come” [is here], from God, in the flesh.

Ephesians 5:30-32

30 for we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32

This is a great mystery: but I [Apostle Paul]  speak concerning Christ and the church.  [The body of CHRIST]

Consider scripture with scripture:  Precept upon precept, Line upon line.

“I speak concerning Christ and the church.” [the fleshly embodiment, here and now ,  of the body of Christ]. Because  followers of Jesus Christ are members of the incarnate Body of Christ [The Church]

God's thoughts are so much higher than ours. He knows everything that happens - past, present and future - all the time, and His plans and intents are holy, perfect, just and fair. Ours are so different. Only God could conceive of a plan of free salvation for us, described here.

SERMON: from Spurgeon’s Metropolitan Tabernacle  (London)

Our Thoughts Compared with God’s    Isaiah 55:8    with Dr. Peter Masters

PRAISE: November 5th I Know Whom I Have Believed  by Marshall Hall…be filled with the Spirit; speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody [music] in your heart to the Lord; Ephesians 5:18-19

PRAYER 14, Part 6 of 8: November 5th

BLESS THE LORD, O MY SOUL!

Part 6 Once more we pray Thee [to You] bless Thy [Your] Church. Lord quicken [liven, breathe abundant life and enthusiasm to] believers. Thou hast[You have] given to Thy Church great activities, for which we thank Thee [You]. May these activities be supported by a corresponding inner-life [inspired spiritual life].  Let us not get to be busy here and there with Martha, [the “too busy” sister of Lazarus} and forget to sit at Thy [Your] feet with Mary.

Lord, restore to Thy [Your] Church the love of strong doctrine. May Thy [Your] truth yet prevail. Purge out [remove] from among Thy [Your] Church those who would lead others away from the truth as it is in Jesus, and give back the old power and something more. Give us Pentecost. [Supernatural Holy Spirit power as a mighty rushing wind]  [We pray this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ [Messiah, The Anointed King, Amen.]

ANECDOTE 96: November 5th  Sham Religion.

It was but a little while ago that I had in my house a gentleman, an excellent man, and I believed a true child of God, who told me he had been brought seriously under impression, [not conviction] on account of sin, through hearing a sermon of late [a recent sermon].  “But,” said he, “I was baptized in my childhood. When I was but young, there was a revival in our village, in New England. Mine was the hardest heart in our village; but I was found out at last.  There was scarcely a girl or boy that did not join the church, and I was at last brought under deep impression.  I used to weep before God, and pray to him. I went to the minister and told him I was converted, deceived him, and was baptized.” And then he went on to tell me that he had dived into the blackest crimes, and gone far away, even from the profession of religion; that after going to college he had been struck-off the church-roll on account of wickedness, and that up to this time he had been an infidel [non-believer], and had not so much as thought of the things of the kingdom.

Take heed, many of you, that you do not get a sham religion. Many jump into godliness as they would into a bath; but they are very glad to jump out of it again, when they find the world pays them better.

FAITH’S CHECKBOOK November 5th C.H. Spurgeon 1834-1892

WHAT IS PAINFUL WILL END

-I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth [angry]:  for the spirit should fail before me, and the souls which I have made-     Isaiah 57:16
-Porque no tengo de contender para siempre, ni para siempre me he de enojar: pues decaería ante mi el espíritu, y las almas que yo he criado-  Isaias 57:16

Our heavenly Father seeks our instruction, not our destruction.  His contention with us has a kind intention toward us. He will not be always in arms [weaponized]  against us. We think the Lord is long in His chastisements, but that is because we are short in our patience. His compassion endureth [endures] forever, but not His contention.

The night may drag its weary length along, but it must in the end give place to cheerful day. As contention is only for a season, so the wrath which leads to it is only for a small moment. The Lord loves His chosen too well to be always angry with them.  If He were to deal with us always as He does sometimes we should faint outright, and go down hopelessly to the gates of death.

[Take] Courage, dear heart! the Lord will soon end His chiding [scolding].  Bear up, [take hope] for the Lord will bear [pick]  you up, and bear [carry] you  through.  He who made you knows how frail [weak] you are, and how little you can bear [take]. He will handle tenderly that which He has fashioned so delicately.

Therefore, be not [don’t be] afraid because of the painful present, for it hastens to                  [become] a happy future. He that smote [struck] you will heal you; His little wrath shall be followed by great mercies.

MORNING   November 5th

"No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper. —Isaiah 54:17
—Toda herramienta que fuere fabricada contra ti, no prosperará— Isaías 54:17

THIS day is notable in English history for two great deliverances wrought by God for us.

On this day in1605 the plot of the Papists to destroy our Houses of Parliament was discovered.

While for our princes they prepare
In caverns deep a burning snare,
He shot from heaven a piercing ray,
And the dark treachery brought to day.

And secondly, today is the anniversary of the landing of King William III at Torbay in 1688 by which the hope of Popish ascendancy was squashed and religious liberty was secured.

This day ought to be celebrated, not by the saturnalia  [festival of Saturn]
of striplings [teenagers], but by the songs of saints. Our Puritan forefathers most devoutly made it a special time of thanksgiving.

There is extant [existing] a record of the annual sermons preached by Matthew Henry on this day. Our Protestant feeling, and our love of liberty, should make us regard its anniversary with holy gratitude. Let our hearts and lips exclaim, “We have heard with our ears, and our fathers have told us the wondrous things which Thou [You] didst in their day, and in the old time before them.” You have made this nation the home of the gospel; and when the foe has risen against her, You have shielded her.

Help us to offer repeated songs for repeated deliverances. Grant us more and more hatred of Antichrist, and hasten-on the day of his entire extinction. Until then and ever, we believe the promise,

“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper.”

Should it not be laid on the heart of every lover of the gospel of Jesus on this day to plead for the

overturning of false doctrines and the

extension of divine truth?

Would it not be well to search our own hearts and turn out [banish] any of the Popish lumber [pride] of self-righteousness which may lie concealed therein?

EVENING    November 5th

"Be thankful unto Him, and bless His name. "— Psalm 100:4
— Por sus atrios con alabanza: Alabadle, bendecid su nombre— Salmos 100:4

OUR Lord would have all His people rich in high and happy thoughts concerning His blessed person. Jesus is not content that His brethren should think meanly [badly] of Him; it is His pleasure that His espoused ones [believers] should be delighted with His beauty. We are not to regard Him as a bare necessity, like to bread and water, but as a luxurious delicacy, as a rare and ravishing delight.

To this end He has revealed Himself as the "pearl of great price" in its peerless beauty, as the "bundle of myrrh" in its refreshing fragrance, as the "rose of Sharon" in its lasting perfume, as the "lily" in its spotless purity.

As a help to high thoughts of Christ, remember that beyond the skies, where things are measured by the right standard, Christ is held in the highest estimation.

Think how God esteems [treasures] the Only Begotten, His unspeakable gift to us.

Consider what the angels think of Him, as they count it their highest honor to veil their faces at His feet.

Consider what the blood-washed think of Him, as day without night they sing His well-deserved praises. High thoughts of [Jesus] Christ will enable us to act consistently [faithfully] in our relations towards Him. The more loftily we see Christ enthroned and the more lowly we are when bowing before the foot of the throne, the more truly shall we be prepared to act [to do] our part towards Him.

Our Lord Jesus desires us to think well of Him, that we may submit cheerfully to His authority. High thoughts of Him increase our love. Love and esteem go together. Therefore, believer, think much of your Master's excellencies. Study Him in His primeval [original] glory, before He took your nature on Himself!

Think of the mighty love which drew Him from His throne to die on the cross! Admire Him as He conquers all the power of hell! See Him risen, crowned, glorified!

Bow before Him as the Wonderful, the Counselor, the mighty God; for only thus your love to Him be what it should.

A  SINNER’S   PRAYER:

Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21

Pray and call on the name of the Lord Jesus.

Pray like this, won’t you? :

“Lord Jesus, I’m a lost sinner hopeless without You.  I will never be able to save myself. Without your death on the cross to pay my sin debt I would be condemned to spend eternity condemned in Hell. By nature  and  practice I am a sinner. I’m  totally depraved and  I sin because I am a sinner. Please forgive me.

I realize that doing my best or being as good as possible, or being better than other people or having good excuses can never save me.
I look to You, alone  Lord Jesus to save me.
I call on You,  by name,  Lord Jesus, right now to save me.  You died on the cross in my place to pay  for my sin. Your Word says,  “It shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21. Thank You, Lord.

Right now, I surrender my sinful self  to You,  just as I am, Lord Jesus. I trust You to forgive me and save me and be my Lord and Savior.
Please forgive me for all my sins. I’m sorry for every sin (bad thoughts, words and things I have done) and look to You to forgive me of them all.  I need your strength to overcome sin’s temptations. Thank you for forgiving me.
You paid the price for all of my sins by dying on the cross.

Thank you Lord Jesus that You loved me and died for me before I was born and that You love me still.

Thank you Heavenly Father that You have made the way  of  redemption, forgiveness and  atonement for me  and have drawn me away from sin and death into Life  in Your only begotten son.  He took  my place and suffered my punishment.

Thank You, Heavenly Father that you raised Jesus from the dead. He is ALIVE and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave. In Christ Jesus there is therefore now no condemnation.

Thank You for saving me heavenly Father and for sending the Holy Spirit for my guidance, comfort  and solemn instruction into all truth,  Amen.”

With all my heart, I thank you Lord Jesus for saving me. In your name, Lord Jesus I pray, Amen.

Please allow us to rejoice over your new birth in the presence of angels in heaven who rejoice over one sinner that repents. Luke 15:10

SACRED LITERATURE:

ORIGINAL: The Pilgrim’s Progress  Pub. by Logos,1853 from 1678 Original by John Bunyan

REVISED TEXT by Barry E. Horner: The Pilgrim’s Progrefs [sic]...

in Pilgrim’s Progress. (The World’s most widely circulated Allegory by John Bunyan, also credited, by some, as being the world’s first English novel.

IT’S FREE. No subscription required. You may choose to read at your own pace, or you may want to view DailySpugeon.com for daily encounters with Pilgrim.)

"Christ in us is Christ reigning." reminds me [Spurgeon's comment] of Mr. Bunyan’s picture of [the town of] Mansoul, …when the Prince Immanuel laid siege to it, and Diabolus from within the city strove to keep him out. It was a, hard time for Mansoul then; but when at last the battering rams had broken down the gates, and the silver trumpets sounded, and the prince’s captains entered the breach, then on a day the prince himself did ride down the city’s streets, while liberated citizens welcomed him with all their hearts, hung out all their streamers, and made the church towers rock again as the bells rang out merry peals [melody] , for the king himself was come. Up to the castle of the heart he rode in triumph, and took his royal throne to be henceforth the sole lord and king of the city.

Christ in you is a right royal word. Christ swaying his scepter from the center of your being over every power and faculty, desire and resolve, bringing every thought into captivity to himself, oh, this is glory begun, and the sure pledge of heaven. Oh for more of the imperial sovereignty of Jesus; it is our liberty to be absolutely under his sway.

ADULT AUDIO Episodes and CHILDREN’S VIDEO Story Parts:

You may choose to read or listen to Pilgrim’s Progress as a bed time story.

It’s the world’s most famous allegory and is the all-time, world-wide best seller second only to the Bible. Some believe it to be the world’s first novel written in English.

It will bless, encourage and instruct pilgrims (readers and seekers) of all ages for a life-time.
