DAILY SPURGEON  for  April 26th  *A.D. 2024 written and calendared by Charles Haddon Spurgeon.

*A.D. does NOT mean “After Death”, a common mistake.  It is an abbreviation from the Latin  words Anno Domini;  a shortened term, actually meaning:   “Year of our Lord”.

BCE/CE or  BC/AD   What’s the difference? Open this link…   Won’t you?

He was born of a virgin 2,024 years ago, is alive today, and is coming soon

for His  bride; the Church of the born-again redeemed.

FEATURED BIOGRAPHICAL VIDEOS  :

C.H. Spurgeon The Peoples Preacher  ( 70 min.)  Historically accurate Feature Film of the one called The Prince of Preachers

2,018,939 views May 14, 2020       ―a Wonderful video of insight into the heartwarming and inspirational life and ministry of Charles Haddon Spurgeon who is known, world-wide  as the “people’s preacher”.

It follows his trials and triumphs with historical accuracy pointing always to Jesus Christ and proclaiming, “Behold the Lamb of God which taketh [takes] away the sin of the world.”

Here is an intimate account of one of the greatest preachers in the history of the church. We follow him from his youth where, as a young preacher he is called Charlie, boy preacher of the Finns. to become the minister to London’s largest Baptist congregation and soon captures the love and respect of Great Britan and goes on to become one of its most influential figures.

Made by the award-winning Christian Television Association and filmed on location in England, Scotland, France and Germany, this film vividly captures the spirit and message of a man whose eventful  —sometimes controversial—  life is highly relevant to the twenty-first century.

Thank You  LORD for dailyspurgeon.com  that proclaims the Gospel of Jesus Christ [The Messiah], and  the great commission for believers to go into  all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.

This ministry was begun as  e-mails of  Spurgeon’s  Faith’s Checkbook,  were sent to Jon Edward Riley (1971- 2021) by his dad. He shared them with others, and a mailing list of daily recipients began to grow. The mailing list is now used to send dailyspurgeon.com  a website that publishes the Good News of Jesus Christ and supports Local Churches in making followers of the Lord Jesus Christ. To this end devotional content from the writings of  Charles Haddon Spurgeon. (1834 – 1892) known as The Prince of Preachers is presented.

We are grateful to  the Lord for providing dailyspurgeon.com   and trust that it will continue to honor the LORD by encouraging a whole-hearted devotional vigor of Love, and oneness with Jesus Christ through the study and obedience of GOD’S WORD. All content is selected for this ministry has been  written and calendared by Charles Spurgeon. We pray that many will be born-again  and built-up in the Faith of Jesus Christ, by God’s grace and with His help, sustain a ministry that was begun with my beloved son, Jon Edward Riley (1971-2021)  honored here as one to whom honor is due.

Jon would  often  testify that...

“I’m a blood-bought, born-again child of God.”

We add our, “Amen”.

Is dailyspurgeon.com   or any other spoken or written communication to be trusted?

Is it true?     Is it of God?

Apply this Scripture to discern if it is, or is not.

1 John 4:1-3  Beloved ones, don’t be believing every spirit [voice] you hear but be testing the spirits [voices] whether they are of God: because many false prophets have gone out into the world. Here’s how you know the Spirit [voice]  of God: Every spirit [voice] that confesses that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh, having come from God, is of God:  and every spirit that confesses not that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit [voice] of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Therefore, we should [must] test every voice [spirit] whether it is from God, bonified and trustworthy to be believed only if it  confesses [says]  that…

“Jesus Christ is here, from God, in the flesh having come from God .”

[All English translations of the Bible other than King James have  erroneously translated from two alternate Greek texts created by Westcott & Hort or Nestle & Alland as “Has come” rather than“Is come” [Is Here] which is the correct translation following the Greek Majority Text and the Textus Receptus].  The majority of manuscripts MT of the 5,321 individual Greek manuscripts that are preserved, protected, inerrant, infallible and immutable manuscripts and are in overwhelming agreement with one another and are the source from which the Textus Receptus is taken

All Modern Critical  translations ignore the original Greek verb “ictin” [To be] [is] (third person singular) that is in virtually all Majority Texts MT and  subsequently in the Textus Receptus [Received Text] therefore they fail to correctly translate  the Greek verb  as, “Is come” [Is here].  (as does the KJV)

This  error occurs  because the  modern critical Greek text, created by Westcott & Hort and Nestles & Alland DO NOT follow the  MT [Majority Texts] from which  the TR  [Textus Receptus] is rendered and both have omitted the verb “is”, from the Greek text. This error show itself as a  res ipsa loquitur [a point of law meaning the thing speaks for itself].

Therefore, the alternate translations generated from the two alternate Greek fabrications are not correct. Why not? Because non-believers and false prophets can indeed, and often do, affirm that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh. Practically anyone can  make this confession as the  birth of Jesus Christ is considered by virtually all respected historians to be the most well documented fact in history. That He has come is generally acknowledged by nonbelievers and believers alike.   However, here’s the point. There is a huge difference between “Has come” and “Is Here”. “Has come” falls woefully short of the essential and clear meaning of the confession “Is Here”. Just because something “has come” it can not be assumed, inferred or deduced that it also “is here”.

The “has come” assertion is not surprising nor is it, per se, a false statement. Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. However, this  fails to present a  Rubric necessary to discern whether the sprit [voice] being tested [tried] is from God or from false prophets in the spirit of antichrist.

Again, the expression “has come” rather than  “is come” [is here]  is not, per se a false statement. But, it falls short of delivering the promised hypothesis for discernment proffered and inferred. The failure here  to establish a logical and rhetorically sound rubric to judge  the question of whether spirits [words] are from God or from false prophets and the spirit of antichrist is glaring by its absence.

Namely, it does not provide a sound hypothesis to discern whether a spirit [spoken or written words]  are from God or the spirit of Antichrist.

Virtually anyone [or any spirit] may avow that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh. But as you can see, this does not resolve the issue of whether something should or should not be believed as true or followed. Why?  Once again,  because virtually anyone and everyone can and often do confess that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh. This leaves absent a valid and efficacious discernment.

Again, while it is  true that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh, this alone is inadequate to discern truth from error. “Has come” does not mean the same thing as “is come [is here],  from God, in the flesh” and therefore  is a failed attempt to represent itself as efficacious for true spiritual discernment as outlined in 1 John Chapter 4: 1-3.

Further, as we  compare  Scripture with  scripture in 1 John 4:1-3 and  Ephesians 5:30-32

we comprehend God’s message regarding  Jesus Christ  being in the Flesh vis-à-vis His Church Body

Compare  1 John 4:1-3   with Ephesians 5:30-32

1 John 4:1-3
Authorized (King James) Version

4 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3 and every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Ephesians 5:30-32
Authorized (King James) Version

30 for we are members of his [Jesus Christ’s]  body,  of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32 This is a great mystery:

but I speak concerning  Christ and the church.

[So, we are members of His body, flesh and bone, [we are] one flesh with Him,  The Body of Christ is (In the flesh); and is the incarnate Body of believers].

He was born of a virgin 2024 years ago.  He lives today,

and He’s coming soon,  for His bride; the Church [Blood-bought, Born-again members of His body].

When a believer considers the fact that they are a member of the body of Christ [The Church] , they should acknowledge and readily confess that…

“Jesus Christ is here, from God,  in the flesh,” because  We are the Body of Christ; The Church, in the flesh!  Amen.

As Jon remembered veterans, we remember him: Jon Edward Riley (1971-2021) who would, on occasion, just bust-out singing the following songs; sometimes, on the way to church sometimes just singing along with the Elvis Gospel CD that was always kept in the truck’s CD player or,

even better, a song the Lord would spontaneously put in his joyful and loving heart.

I LOVE You Lord by Jared Reynolds

How Great Thou Art with Elvis

Lead Me & Rock-a My Soul by Elvis and friends

…Jon always said “Later”; as in [see’ya later] instead of “good bye”. It was his unique way to bid farewell … He would never say “good-bye”. Now,  remembering the sound of his voice saying “Later”, it rings true with a  new and deeper meaning and it brings a joyfulness and comfort to the hearts of those he loved so well; those who love him still, and always will.

… we are reminded of the promise of the Hymn:

’Till We Meet Again. Amen.

Christian Dress   1 Corinthians 11:1-24  with Dr. Peter Masters

Paul tells women to wear the veil of their society, which symbolized subjection. Our society has not had this dress code for decades. Hats no longer signify subjection. Is Paul's requirement to be literally obeyed today, or may the principle be observed in a different way?

Long before the Conservative Resurgence, Dr. R.G. Lee was the Southern Baptist champion of biblical infallibility and inerrancy. In his sermon, “The Word of God – Not Broken and Not Bound,” published in 1930, in which Dr. Lee stated the following regarding the HOLY BIBLE: (KJV)

“All [Prophets and Apostles] who wrote are immortalized by their writing of this great Book, supernatural in origin, divine in authorship, human in penmanship, infallible in authority, infinite in scope, universal in interest, personal in application, regenerative in power, inspired [God breathed] in totality.”

Dr. R.G. Lee preached a sermon called Payday Someday over 1,200 times.

Why was it so powerful? Why was it requested and preached so many times?

Come and see, Won’t you?

Five Rules For The Church

1 Peter 4.7

In the light of the approaching end, the apostle gives duties to churches: (1) safe-mindedness; (2) watchfulness for prayer; (3) fervent love in the fellowship; (4) the exercise of all talents; (5) the earnestness and authority of preaching and teaching.

SACRED LITERATURE:

THE PILGRIM’S PROGRESS   by  John Bunyan  is the most famous Allegory, world-wide and the Most widely Published Book of all time and was printed in over 200 Languages. It has NEVER,  since 1698, been  out-of-print.

Only The King James Bible was more widely published than The Pilgrim’s Progress.

BUNYAN’S  ORIGINAL of 1678: The Pilgrim’s Progress  Published in 1853  by Logos

REVISED VERSION:              The Pilgrim’s Progrefs  [sic] 1999 by Barry E. Horner

OLD ENGLISH  PRINT: The Pilgrim’s Progress  Part II   AKA  Christiana
(Christian’s wife, Christiana and children; their dangerous journey, and safe arrival at the desired country.)

Pilgrim Progress is the world’s most famous Allegory, It and the Bible were commonly the only books to be found in the cabin of early American Settlers and were  loved and  read more than any book, second only to the Holy Bible.  It’s  also considered, by some, as being the world’s first English novel. It’s likely the most published book other than the Bible of all time. There were 1,300 editions printed before 1938,  250 years after the Bunyan’s death. Hence, the world’s most famous Allegory.

Comment on Pilgrim’s Progress by Charles H. Spurgeon from the Spurgeon Sermon
“Christ in You”.

Spurgeon:  Christ in us is Christ reigning." reminds me of Mr. Bunyan’s picture of [the town of] Mansoul, …when the Prince Immanuel laid siege to it, and Diabolus from within the city strove to keep him out. It was a, hard time for Mansoul then; but when at last the battering rams had broken down the gates, and the silver trumpets sounded, and the prince’s captains entered the breach, then on a day the prince himself did ride down the city’s streets, while liberated citizens welcomed him with all their hearts, hung out all their streamers, and made the church towers rock again as the bells rang out merry peals [happy melodies] , for the king himself was come. Up to the castle of the heart [main castle]  he rode in triumph, and took his royal throne to be henceforth the sole lord and king of the city.

Christ in you is a right royal word. Christ swaying his scepter from the center of your being over every power and faculty, desire and resolve, bringing every thought into captivity to himself, Oh, this is glory begun, and the sure pledge of heaven. Oh, for more of the imperial sovereignty of Jesus, The Messiah;  our liberty to be absolutely under his sway.

Spurgeon Sermon: Christ in You, Preached May 13, 1883 Scripture: Colossians 1:27  From: Metropolitan Tabernacle Pulpit, Volume 29   (cit. II. THE SWEETNESS OF THIS MYSTERY, WHICH IS CHRIST IN YOU, § 5)

You may choose to read, listen or share Pilgrim’s Progress with your little ones as a bed time story.   It will bless, strengthen, encourage and instruct pilgrims of all ages and will create precious and enduring memories in little ears.

Spurgeon read it for the first time as a precocious five year old reader and would returned to read it over 100 times during the course of his remarkable ministry as a Baptist pastor who is  known as The Prince of Preachers .

A SINNER’S PRAYER

PRAYER 17, Part 1: TO BE LIKE CHRIST.

BLESSED art Thou, O God; teach us Thy statutes! Because Thou art the infinitely blessed One, Thou canst impart [give] blessing, and Thou art [are] infinitely willing to do so, and therefore do we approach Thee with great confidence, through Jesus Christ Thy Son, whom Thou hast [have] made blessed for evermore.  Oh! hear Thou the voice of  Thy servants this day,  [today] and according to Thine infinite love and wisdom answer Thou us [answer us]; according to Thy riches in glory, by Christ Jesus.

[We ask this In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.]

ANECDOTE 264:    Infidelity, a Frail Support.

In the backwoods of Canada there resided a good minister, who one evening went out to meditate, as Isaac [Jacob’s son]  did, in the fields.

He soon found himself on the borders of a forest, which he entered, and walked along a track [trail] which had been trodden before him; musing, musing still,  until at last the shadows of twilight gathered around him, and he began to think how he should spend a night in the forest. He trembled at the idea of remaining there, with the poor shelter of a tree into which he would be compelled [forced] to climb.

On a sudden he saw a light in the distance, among the trees, and imagining that it might be from the window of some cottage where he would find a hospitable retreat, he hastened to it, and to his surprise saw a space cleared, and trees laid down to make a platform, and upon it a speaker addressing a multitude. He thought to himself,  “I have stumbled on a company of people, who in this dark forest have assembled to worship God, and some minister is preaching to them, at this late hour of the evening, concerning the kingdom of God, and his righteousness;”

…but to his surprise and horror, when he came nearer, he found a young man declaiming against God, daring the Almighty to do his worst upon him, speaking terrible things in wrath against the justice of the Most High, and venturing most bold and lawful assertions concerning his own disbelief in a future state [eternity]. It was altogether a singular scene; it was lighted up by pine-knots, [popping in the fire] which cast a glare here and there, while the thick darkness in other places still reigned. The people were intent on listening to the orator, and when he sat down thunders of applause were given to him; each one seeming to emulate the other in his praise.

Thought the minister, “I must not let this pass; I must rise and speak ; the honor of my God and his cause demands it.” But he feared to speak, for he knew not what to say, having come there suddenly; but, he would have ventured, had not something else occurred.

A man of middle age, hale and strong, rose, and leaning on his staff, he said : “My friends, I have a word to speak to you to-night. I am not about to refute any of the arguments of the orator; I shall not *criticize his style; I shall say nothing concerning what I believe to be the blasphemies he has uttered; but I shall simply relate to you a fact, and after I have done that,  you shall draw your own conclusions.

Yesterday I walked by the side of yonder river; I saw on its floods a young man in a boat. The boat was unmanageable; it was going fast toward the rapids; he could not use the oars, and I saw that he was not capable of bringing the boat to the shore. I saw that young man wring his hands in agony; by-and-by [finally] he gave up the attempt to save his life, kneeled down and cried with desperate earnestness,

“0, God ! save my soul!  If my body can not be saved, save my soul.”

I heard him confess that he had been a blasphemer; I heard him vow that if his life were spared, he would never be such again; I heard him implore the mercy of heaven for Jesus Christ’s sake, and earnestly plead that he might be washed in his blood.

These arms saved that young man from the flood; I plunged in, brought the boat to shore, and saved his life.  That same young man has just now addressed you, and cursed his Maker. What say you to this, sirs ?”

The speaker sat down. You may guess what a shudder ran through the young man himself, and how the audience in one moment changed their notes, and saw that after all, while it was a fine thing to brag and [express] bravado against Almighty God on dry land, and when danger was distant, it was not quite so grand, to think ill  of him [Almighty God] when near the verge of the grave.

We believe there is enough conscience in every man to convince him that God must punish him for his sin; therefore,  we think that our text Psalms 7:12  will wake an echo in every heart.

“If he [the wicked] turn not, he [God] will whet [sharpen] his sword.”    Psalms 7:12

FAITH’S CHECKBOOK:  April 26  WHAT [a Legacy Of Blessing] TO HAVE CHILDREN -The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him-   Proverbs 20:7

-El justo que camina en su integridad, Bienaventurados serán sus hijos despues de el-  Proverbios 20:7
Anxiety [worry] about our family is natural, but we shall be wise if we turn it into care about our own character. If we walk before the Lord in integrity, we shall do more to bless our descendants than if we bequeathed them large estates. A father’s holy life is a rich legacy for his sons.  The upright man leaves his heirs his example, and this in itself will be a mine of true wealth.

How many men may trace their success in life to the example of their parents!  He leaves them also his repute.[reputation] Men think all the better of us as the sons of a man who could be trusted, the successors of a tradesman of excellent repute. Oh, that all young men were anxious [eager] to keep up the family name!

Above all, he leaves his children his prayers and the blessing of a prayer-hearing God, and these make our offspring to be favored among the sons of men. God will save them even after we are dead. Oh, that they might be saved at once!

Our integrity may be God’s means of saving our sons and daughters. If they see the truth of our religion proved by our lives, it may be that they will believe in Jesus for themselves.  Lord, fulfill this word to my household!

Prayer: Thank you Lord that the children of a just man walk after him in his simple, holy integrity.  Open my ears, Lord Jesus and let me walk in integrity knowing that Your promises are sure.  I believe that You died for my sins and that God raised You from the dead. Thank You that I am kept by Your faith. Galatians 2:20

Pray also that all pastors, workers and believers everywhere rightly divide God’s everlasting Word,   to declare, preach and share the good news that Jesus suffered and died on the cross so that eternal life is given to  all who trust in Him. Pray that all redeemed, born-again blood-bought children of God abide faithful to declare the  Good News of Jesus Christ with every creature in the name of the Lord Jesus. Amen.

I am joyful together with the  joy that shall be in heaven over one sinner that repents, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no [further] repentance. Luke 15:7  in Jesus name, Amen.

MORNING  April 26

"Rise up my love, my fair one, and come away." —Song of Solomon 2:10
--Levántate, mi amor, hermosa mía, y vente.-- Cantares 2:10

LO [Listen], I hear the voice of my Beloved! He speaks to me! Fair weather is smiling on the face of the earth, and He would not have me spiritually asleep while nature is all around me awaking from her winter's rest.

He bids me "Rise up," and well He may, for I have long enough been lying among the pots [temptations] of worldliness.

He is risen; I am risen in Him; why then should I cleave to the dust ?    From lower loves, desires, pursuits, and aspirations, I would rise toward Him. He calls me by the sweet title of "My love," and counts me fair; this is a good argument for my rising. If He has exalted [lifted] me, and thinks I am beautiful, how can I linger [hang out] in the tents of  Kedar and find congenial associates [polite friends] among the sons of men? He bids [call] me,

"Come away."

Further and further from everything selfish, low, worldly, or sinful, He calls me; from the outwardly religious [hypocritical] world which knows Him not, and has no sympathy with the mystery of the higher life. He calls me.

"Come away" has no harsh sound in it to my ear, for what is there to hold me in this wilderness of vanity [self-centeredness] and sin?

O my Lord, would that I could come away, but I am trapped among the thorns, and cannot escape from them as I would. I would, if it were possible, have neither eyes, nor ears, nor heart for sin. You call me to Yourself by saying "Come away," and this is a melodious call indeed.

To come to You is to come home from exile [banishment], to come to land out of the [sea’s] raging storm, to come to rest after long labor, to come to the goal of my desires and the summit of my wishes. But Lord, how can a stone rise, how can a lump of clay come away from the horrible pit?

O raise me; draw me. Your grace can do it.

Send Your Holy Spirit to kindle sacred flames of love in my heart, and I will continue to rise until I leave life and time behind me, and indeed come away in Your name,  Lord Jesus, Amen.

EVENING        April 26

“IF any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him.” —Revelation 3:20
-Si alguno oyere mi voz y abriere la puerta, entraré á él — Apocalipsis 3:20

WHAT is your desire this evening? Is it set on heavenly things? Do you long to enjoy the high doctrine of eternal love? Do you desire liberty [peace of mind and freedom] in very close communion with God? Do you aspire to know the heights, and depths, and lengths, and breadths [of the Lord]?

Then you must draw near to Jesus. You must get a clear sight of Him in His preciousness and completeness: you must view Him in His work, in His offices, in His person. He who understands Christ, receives an anointing [Holy presence] from the Holy One, by which He knows all things. Christ is the great master key of all the chambers [rooms] of God: there is no treasure house of God which will not open and yield up all its wealth to the soul that lives near to Jesus. Are you saying,

"0 that He would dwell in my bosom [heart]"? "Would that He would make my heart His dwelling-place for ever"?

Open the door, beloved, and He will come into your soul. He has long been knocking, and all with this object, that he may commune [have fellowship] with you, and you with Him. He sups [has supper, dinner] with you because you find the house or the heart [desire] , and you with Him because He brings the provision.

He could not sup with you if it were not in your heart, you finding the house; nor could you sup with Him, for you have a bare cupboard [pantry], if He did not bring the provision [meal] with Him.

Fling [throw open] wide, then, the doors of your soul. He will come with that love you long to feel; He will come with that joy you cannot work up in your poor depressed spirit; He will bring the peace you lack; He will come with His flagons [bottles] of wine and sweet apples of love, and cheer you till you have no other sickness but that of "love o'er-powering, love divine."

Only open the door to Him, drive out His enemies, give Him the keys of your heart, and

He will dwell there forever.

Oh, wondrous love, that brings such a guest to dwell in such a heart! [as mine]

Note:  JM witnessed the last moments of his *Daddy’s life on earth and heard him say “Amen” repeatedly and continuously affirming his own life and testimony of God’s goodness to him and his agreement for his imminent departure and to be present with his Lord Jesus.   Amen...  Amen…   Amen!

*Charles Dumah Riley, Sr.    1897 – 1987

My Daddy’s never changing prayer before every meal where he was present and always at every family meal and was always offered with all gravity and reverence in the unique inflection of his deep Bass prayer voice:

“Accept our thanks for these and all other blessings, we Humbly ask in Thy name, Amen.”

2.      Trust Him. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass ... Psalm 37:5

3.     Come to Him. Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest..  Matthew 11:28

4.     Give Him the burden.  Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. Psalm 55:22]

vis. Textus Receptus [The Received Greek Text] (From the overwhelming majority of extant New Testament Greek manuscripts)

The Incomplete and unsealed codices of Sinaiticus and Vaticanus are not majority texts, [Original Masoretic Hebrew and the Greek Textus Receptus]. Sinaiticus and Vaticanus present variant, ambiguous and erroneous readings rather than that of  the well-established and settled  texts.  They disagree often with one another as well as with the settled majority texts. Thus, an attempt to create a pretext that will continue to justify a never-ending demand  for additional editions and interpretations.  These unsettled differences and bias in certain sectarian doctrine [dogma] have led to the production of multiple “modern” editions with ambiguities, many variant readings and confusion from the explosion of unending, new editions.

Profit-driven publishers have embraced such an economic windfall to sell a continual flow of “new and better” English edition of The Bible. They give too little attention to the fidelity and accuracy already settled [in heaven] in the majority manuscripts of the Masoretic Hebrew and the Textus Receptus Greek.

Psalm 119:89-90

ל  Lamed

89 For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven.
90 Thy faithfulness is unto all generations:
thou hast established the earth, and it abideth. [abides]

God, Himself, providentially protects and preserves every letter of His Word.

His Word is

Inspired [God-breathed], self-authenticating [proves authenticity by intrinsic evidence alone],  immutable [unchanging and unchangeable], eternal [has always existed], inerrant [without error], infallible [unmistakable and unfailing], infinite [inexhaustible] and omnipotent [all-powerful], forever settled in heaven.   God is not the author of confusion.

 1 Corinthians 14:33

MISSION PURPOSE:         [JR1]

Our aim is to faithfully follow the Lord Jesus Christ. We trust the Holy Spirit to impart God’s  divine revelation to us from His Word, the Holy Bible.  We trust that many who are lost will be saved, that believers will be comforted, strengthened and encouraged as we are being conformed to the image of the Lord Jesus Christ; all, to God’s glory.

Divine Scripture is God’s infinite, eternal, inerrant, infallible, immutable revelation to all mankind.  Herein, all revealed truth is given to the world. It is God-breathed [inspired] , self-authenticating [compare scripture to scripture]  and providentially protected and will endure, immutable, forever.  We purpose, therefore, with God enabling, to rightly divide and follow The Holy Bible in all things.  Personal guidance in Holiness and all divine revelation to His Church body are through God’s Holy Word, the Bible.

Hence, we resolve, God helping us, to pray, read, study, meditate-on, trust-in  and obey God’s revealed and divinely preserved Word,  holding it to be the final authority and legal precedent in all things as the divinely established Stare Decisis [Latin: to stand by that which is decided].

Therefore, the purpose of The John Mark Publishing Company is to publish and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every creature, ministering God’s love to all, especially those in the household of faith.  The Bible is God’s everlasting, inspired, (God breathed) inerrant, infallible, unchangeable, divinely protected and preserved Word of love and salvation to the entire world forever settled in heaven ...

It is also the essence and  foundation of this ministry as we aim to encourage a growing discipleship and devotional vigor.

History: The preaching, teaching and writing  of Charles Haddon Spurgeon is inspired and consistently, continues to reveal God’s love through His Word, rightly divided and conforming to all doctrines of Biblical Christianity.  His work continues to benefit, bless and challenge readers through authentic Gospel preaching and its sound biblical teaching. The Lord’s ministry through Charles Spurgeon  continues to flourish from  (Spurgeon’s)  Metropolitan Tabernacle,   (Brief History)

Spurgeon's printed  materials are shared with the hope that growth in personal devotion and the edification of the church as well as for the benefit, blessing and loving challenge to all readers will occur.  We desire that the written Word of God will become the Living  Word in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ to each and every reader.

To this end,  DailySpurgeon.com is offered as an opportunity to hear Gospel preaching, engage in daily devotional exercises,  Bible study and meditation, prayer, sing praises and Worship in Spirit and in Truth.

Adherence to Spurgeon’s calendared dates and original, unabridged text is carefully followed.

Prayer: Dear Lord, empower your ministry here to win many souls, and serve those in need, especially those in the household of faith, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

Disclaimer: The John Mark Publishing Company does not solicit praise of  Charles H. Spurgeon or his writing or preaching.  He didn’t need or want it then and wouldn’t desire it now.  Our aim is to lift up and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and to preach Him only, and him crucified.
Precaution: These Messages, prayers or any other electronic media  will not substitute for continual fellowship with the Lord Jesus or for the gathering in in-person worship. Neither will they replace personal reading, meditation, prayer and fasting over God's divinely preserved and eternal Word imparted by the Holy Spirit.

The Authorized King James Version (AKJV), also known as the Authorized Version (AV), is the preferred English Bible because it is rendered [translated into English] accurately and  faithfully from the established majority of the Greek Textus Receptus [received text]  manuscripts and the Hebrew Masoretic Text.  These manuscripts have been and will always be providentially protected by God, and always give greater glory to God when compared to any variant, alternate, ambiguous or erroneous reading or interpretation.  The established majority manuscripts avoid doctrinal error, inaccuracies in translation, uninspired editorial notations, variant or ambiguous readings taken from the incomplete and unsealed Codices Vaticanus, and  Sinaiticus.

The Authorized King James version is distinguished further by the requirement of The Crown in Great Brittan that all King James bibles be printed only by the Cambridge University Press, the Crown’s authorized printer. No other [person or publisher] may print, copy or import the King James Bible into Great Brittan by order of the Crown.

Printed Prayer: Printed prayers must not be read or offered as a substitute for personal, fervent, effectual, heart-felt, prayer. They are offered, rather, to warm the hearts of those who will presently seek a season of fervent, authentic two-way, heart-to-heart  fellowship and prayer with the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. Authentic revelations from God during  prayer are always consistent with His revealed Word, the Bible.

"For even in  [the]  Thessaloni'ca [jail] ye sent once and again unto my necessity.  Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.  Philippians 4:17. But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received the things which were sent from you, an odor of a sweet smell, Exodus. 29.18 a sacrifice acceptable, well-pleasing to God. …But I know that my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:17-19.  Now unto God and our Father  be  glory  for ever and ever. Amen. Salute [Greet]  every saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren which are with me greet you All the saints salute [Greet]  you, chiefly they that are of  *Caesar’s household. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.  Amen”

* Not only were new converts won to the truth in Caesar's household, but after their conversion they remained in that household. They did not feel at liberty to abandon their post of duty because their surroundings were no longer congenial. [They were out of their comfort zone but obliged to steadfastly remain and serve there] The Gospel had been received by them there, and there they remained, and through their changed life and character testified to the transforming power of their newly found faith in Jesus Christ.  .

Invitation:
A person may come to Jesus by (whole heartedly) praying a prayer like this:

 A SINNER’S PRAYER:

“Lord Jesus, I’m a sinner. I’m lost and it’s hopeless for me to save myself. Without you and your death on the cross I would spend eternity in Hell.

I know that me doing my best or being good (in my own opinion)  and justifying my own behavior as "good"  or "OK"  can never be enough to save me.
I look to You, alone  Lord Jesus to save me.
I come to You   right now.  Lord Jesus. Will You  please save me.  I believe You died on the cross in my place to pay for my sin debt and put to death my sin nature. I know  You always keep your word.  Please save me. You have said and  it’s written in the Bible that you won’t reject anyone who comes to you. Thank You.

I  give myself (all of myself) to You, Lord Jesus. I declare that You are my Savior and Lord. I’m sorry for and I turn away from  every sin (every bad thought, every bad word I have spoken and every bad thing I have ever done)  and look to You free me from the penalty of sin, to keep me free from the power of sin and empower me overcome any temptation from sin’s  presence.  Thank you for forgiving  all of  my sins by dying on the cross to pay the punishment that I deserve.  (I was a sinner by nature and by behavior). But now I'm washed clean by Your blood that was shed [poured out] for me at Calvary [at the cross].

Thank you Lord Jesus that You loved me and died for me before I was bor n and that You love me now and will always love me and will never reject or turn your back on me. I know You are the Way, the Truth and the Life and that no one can come to the Father other than by You.

Thank you Father that You have made a way for me to see myself as ungodly.  But,  because You are good You have made a way and given me the desire to come to You, to turn away from my sin and to trust in the Lord Jesus.  You have forgiven me because He took my place and You have provided for  me to be born again [born from above, born of the Holy Spirit].
You prompted this desire and faith to believe in Your only begotten Son who, gave up  His life and died on the cross to pay my sin debt, not mine alone, but the sins of the whole world.

Thank You, Heavenly Father that you raised Jesus from the dead. He is ALIVE and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave and in Christ Jesus there is no condemnation. After You raised Him from the dead You gave Him a Glorified, [everlasting] physical body and  after he was seen by many witnesses on earth You took Him up to reign with  You  in heaven. Thank you for saving me.  I pray this in the name, of Your only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ with a grateful heart.   Thank You for saving me heavenly Father and for sending the Comforter, The Spirit of Truth, for my guidance and solemn instruction into all truth.,  Amen.”

Thank You Holy Spirit of Truth, Comforter, Paraclete [one who is by your side]  for the new life in Jesus and the  victory that comes when I recon myself dead indeed unto sin and alive unto God through Christ Jesus our Lord trusting You, Holy Spirit for the  empowerment  to see  this promise fulfilled. Romans 6:11

Thank you that you, Holy Spirit,  always exalt the Lord Jesus.  John 16:8-11

With all my heart, I thank you Lord for saving me.
Help me to live for You in Jesus name, Amen.

Please allow us to celebrate with you and with the angels in heaven your new birth. Write to:

All Bible versions NOT  translated from the Textus Receptus [The (traditional) Received Text] include variant  readings that diminish the full  glory and the most Holy reverence due to Almighty GOD, that He preserves and protects it immutable in the 1769 Edition of the 1611 King James Version  KJV Bible. This version is also known as the Authorized King James  Version  AKJV and the  Authorized Version AV. ALL GLORY is due to and must be given to the Omnipotent Lord of ALL.

The Geneva Bible was also faithfully translated from the Greek Textus Receptus and includes  commentaries from inspired, devoted,  faithful men of GOD; Believers beyond reproach.

Only the traditional Textus Receptus [Received GreekText] was produced  from more than 5,321 original Majority Greek Manuscripts MT and agree 99% with one another. All other variant readings are translated from  either Westcott and Hort’s or Nestle and Aland’s, Greek Texts  fabricated from only a handful [45] of Majority Text Manuscripts MT and  lack the  trustworthiness of  the inspired 1769 [1611] King James Version, KJV and the Geneva Bibles. are the only two translations from the traditional, reliable, inspired, [GOD BREATHED] immutable  and providentially and divinely protected Textus Receptus.

The Bridge to Babylon video presents evidence that tracks the explosion of over 100 new version English translations  of the Bible. The continuing attempts to replace, add or take away from the 1769 King James Version of the Holy Bible does not  prevail because GOD Himself preserves and protects The  inspired Holy Word of GOD

from all heresy, blasphemy, confusion , errors, additions, subtractions or changes.

defend the Truth.   Won’t you?

*A.D. does NOT mean “After Death” as many mistakenly believe. It is Latin for Anno Domini,  a  phrase adopted into English usage that means  “Year of [the/our] Lord”.  The complete  original phrase "anno Domini nostri Jesu Christi" means "in the year of our Lord Jesus Christ”. A.D. is used with B.C. Before Christ  to divide all history before and after the birth of Jesus Christ.   ...More

Should  DAILYSPURGEON  be trusted? Is it trustworthy?

Is it of God?

Yes! Here’s why.

1 John 4:1-3

Beloved ones, don’t be believing every spirit [everyone or !everything] you hear but be testing the spirit [voice] whether it is of God: because many false prophets have gone [come] out into the world. Here’s how you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit [voice] that confesses [avows] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh, having come[who came] out of God, is of God: and every spirit that confesses not [doesn’t audibly avow] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

I hereby confess, audibly,  that Jesus Christ is come   [is here] in the flesh.

[All translations of the Bible that use any Greek text other than the traditional and faithful Textus Receptus ignore the word “ictin” [the Greek word for “is” in English].  This omission causes the meaning of “is here” to  change from “is come” [is here] to “has come”.

This error is self-evident because non-believers, false prophets and heretics can, and frequently do, declare that Jesus Christ “has come” [in the flesh].

While this is a true statement, taken at face value, the  meaning  “has come” is clearly not the same as “is here” ; which is the valid, test to  discern between the Spirit of God and the spirit of antichrist.

The most well documented fact in all of human history is that the Lord Jesus Christ [The Messiah]  “has come” in the flesh. However, the question of greater importance,  is not whether the spirit [of a word or from a person] being considered and tested confesses that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh but, whether the confession being made affirms that Jesus Christ, “is come” [is here], from God, in the flesh.

Ephesians 5:30-32

30 for we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

32 This is a great mystery: but I [The Apostle Paul]  speak concerning Christ and the church.  [The body of CHRIST]

25

Compare and consider scripture to scripture:  Precept upon precept, Line upon line.

“I speak concerning Christ and the church.” [the fleshly embodiment, here and now ,  of the body of Christ]. Because  followers of Jesus Christ are members of the incarnate Body of Christ [The Church]

PRAYER 14, Part 8 of 8  November 7th BLESS THE LORD, O MY SOUL!
[Prayer for America]

O God of the Judges, Thou [You] who didst [did] raise up first one and then another when the people went astray from God; raise up for us still our Deborahs, our Baraks, our Gideons and Jephthahs, and Samuels, that shall maintain for God His truth, and worst [defeat] the enemies of Israel.

Lord look upon Thy [Your] Church in these days.  Lord revive us. Lord restore us. Lord give power to Thy [Your] Word again that Thy [Your] name may be glorified.  Remember the Church of God in this land in all its various phases and portions, and pour out Thy [Your] Spirit upon it.

Remember the multitude of Thy [Your] people across the sea in America, prosper them, bless them with the increase of God.

And wherever Thou hast [You have] a people may Jesus dwell with them and reveal Himself to His own, for Christ’s sake, to whom be glory with the Father and with the Holy Ghost, for ever and ever.. [in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ,] .. Amen.

Note: This prayer was prayed by Charles Spurgeon in the 1800’s and was republished in 1909 by Dinsdale T. Young.

It was published again on November 7, 2012  by the John Mark Publishing Co. publisher of  DailySpurgeon.com   a website ministering the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the use of content preached and written by Charles Spurgeon…  At the time it was published. no thought had been given to the date or the corresponding Presidential election in the U. S. on the previous day.

The 2012 publication actually fell one day after President Barak Obama was  elected on November 6th.. It was truly amazing to realize the connection with the providential significance in Spurgeon’s  prayer for America and the mention of the name, “Barak”.  Remarkable in the fact that the name Barak of the old testament appeared in the prayer; providential in its timeliness (the very next day after the election) and miraculous with  the specific blessing to prosper and bless America with the increase of Godliness, by a Pastor, in London, delivered over 150 years ago and miraculous in its timeliness, and relevance, still bringing a blessing to us today. Please agree in prayer for a return to God more today. Won’t you?

P.S. November 7, 2021

The legacy of Barak Obama’s presidency paved the way for the 2016 election of Donald John Trump, and his reelection in 2024. Trump,  a businessman and political outsider, has  awakened America’s patriots and leads the movement to stand against corruption in government, and ungodly public policies in favor of a return to greatness by the United States and to be found truly “Under God” once again.

ANECDOTE 98: November 7th  A Christian Home.
A religious house is the best proof of true piety. It is not my  chapel,  it is my house  it is not my minister, it is my home companion who can  best judge me; it is the servant, the child, the wife, the friend, that can discern most  of my real character. A good man will  improve his household.
Rowland Hill once said, he would  not believe a man to be a true Christian if  his wife, his children, the servants, and even the dog and cat, were not the better for it. That is being religious [a true believer].

If your household is not the better  for your Christianity if men cannot say, “This is a better house than others,” then be not deceived ye have nothing of the grace of God.

Let not your servant [house-keeper, maintenance or landscaper], on leaving your employ, say, “Well, this is a queer sort of a  religious family; there was no prayer in the morning, I began the day with my drudgery; there was no prayer at night, I was kept  at home all the Sabbath-day. Once a fortnight, [14 days] perhaps,  I was allowed  to go out in the afternoon, when there was  nowhere to  go where I could hear a gospel sermon. My master and mistress went to a place  where of course they heard the blessed gospel of God that was all for them; as for me, I might have the dregs and leavings of some overworked curate in the afternoon.”  Surely, Christian men will not act in that way. No! Carry out your godliness in the heart of your own family [neighbors, coworkers, friends, and those you come in contact with].

FAITH’S CHECKBOOK November 7th     C.H. Spurgeon 1834-1892
NOVEMBER 7  TRUE HUMILITY REWARDED

-He that humbleth himself shall be exalted-   Luke 18:14

-El que se humilla, sera ensalzado- Lucas 18:14

It ought not to be difficult for us to humble ourselves, for what have we to be proud of? [What do we have that God has not given us] We ought to take the lowest place without being told to do so. If we are sensible and honest, we shall be little in our own eyes. Especially before the Lord in prayer we shall shrink to nothing.

There we cannot speak of merit [our own goodness] , for we have none: our one and only appeal must be to mercy: -God be merciful to me a sinner.- Here is a cheering word from the throne. We shall be exalted by the Lord if we humble ourselves.

For us the way upward is downhill [downward] . When we are stripped of self [selfishness and pride] we are clothed with humility, and this is the best of [clothing to] wear. The Lord will exalt us [lift us up] in peace and happiness of mind; He will exalt us into knowledge of His Word and fellowship with Himself;  He will exalt us [lift us up] in the enjoyment of sure pardon and justification.

The Lord puts His honors upon those who can wear them to the honor of the Giver. He gives usefulness, acceptance, and influence to those who will not be puffed up by them, but will be abased by a sense of greater responsibility. Neither God nor man will care to lift up a man who lifts up himself; but both God and good men unite to honor modest  [unassuming, unassertive, authentic] worth.

O Lord, sink me in self that I may rise in thee.

Prayer: Thank You Lord that  you lift us up when we humble ourselves before You.  Thank You that You hear and answer all our prayers. Help me to humble myself and trust in You.  I pray this in the name of the Lord Jesus, Amen.

MORNING   November 7th

"Behold, I have graven [engraved] thee upon the palms of my hands." —  Isaiah 49:16

—He aquí que en las palmas te tengo esculpida Isaías 49:16

N0 doubt a part of God's wonder which is concentrated in the word "Behold," is excited by the unbelieving lamentation [sorrow] of the preceding sentence. [verse 14:] “But Zion said, The LORD hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me.”  How amazed the divine mind seems to be at this wicked unbelief! What can be more astounding than the unfounded doubts and fears of God's favored people?

The Lord's loving word of rebuke should make us blush; He cries, "How can I have forgotten you, when I have engraved you on the palms of my hands? How dare you doubt my constant remembrance, when the memorial is set on my very flesh?" 0 unbelief, how strange a marvel you are! We know not which to wonder at most, the faithfulness of God or the unbelief of His people. He keeps His promise a thousand times, and yet the next trial makes us doubt Him. He never fails;

He is never a dry well; He is never as a setting sun, a passing meteor, or a melting vapor; and yet we are continually vexed with anxieties, molested with suspicions, and disturbed with fears, as if our God were the mirage of the desert.

"Behold," is a word intended to excite admiration. Here, indeed, we have a theme for marveling [being amazed]. Heaven and earth may well be astonished that rebels should obtain so great a nearness to the heart of infinite love as to be written on the palms of His hands. "I have graven thee  [you].”   It does not say, [I have written] "Your name." The name is there, but that is not all: "I have graven [etched, engraved] thee  [you]."  See the fullness of this! I have graven your person, your image, your case, your circumstances, your sins, your temptations, your weaknesses, your wants, your works;

I have “graven  thee,” [you] everything about you, all that concerns you; I have put you altogether there. Will you ever say again that God has forsaken you when He has "graven  [tattooed] thee  [you] " on His own palms?

EVENING      November 7th

"And ye shall be witnesses unto Me. "— Acts 1:8

 —Me sereís testigos— Hechos 1:8

IN order to learn how to perform your duty as a witness for Christ, look at His example. He is always witnessing:

by the well of Samaria or

in the Temple of Jerusalem,

by the lake of Gennesaret or

on the mountain's brow.

He is witnessing night and day;

His mighty prayers are as vocal to God as His daily services. He witnesses under all circumstances. Scribes and Pharisees cannot shut His mouth; even before Pilate He witnesses a good confession. He witnesses so clearly and distinctly that there is no mistake in Him.

Christian, make your life a clear testimony. Be as the brook wherein you may see every stone at the bottom, not as the muddy creek of which you only see the surface, but clear and transparent, so that your heart's love to God and man may be visible to all.

You need not say, "I am true": be true. Boast not of integrity, but be upright. So shall your testimony be such that men cannot help seeing it. Never, for fear of feeble man, restrain your witness. Your lips have been warmed with a coal from off the altar; let them speak like heaven-touched lips should. "In the morning sow [plant] thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand [don’t hold back] ."

Watch not the clouds, consult not the wind [don’t look for excuses] —in season and out of season witness for the Savior, and if it comes to pass that for Christ's sake you endure suffering in any shape, shrink not, but rejoice in the honor thus conferred on you that you are counted worthy to suffer with your Lord. And joy also in this—that your sufferings, your losses, and persecutions will make you a platform from which the more vigorously and with greater power you will witness for Christ Jesus. Study your great Exemplar [Example, the Lord Jesus], and be filled with His Spirit.

Remember that you [we]  need much teaching, much upholding [support], much grace, and much humility if your witnessing is to be to your Master's glory.

A  SINNER’S   PRAYER:

Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21

Pray and call on the name of the Lord Jesus.

Pray like this, won’t you? :

“Lord Jesus, I’m a lost sinner hopeless without You.  I will never be able to save myself. Without your death on the cross to pay my sin debt I would be condemned to spend eternity condemned in Hell. By nature  and  practice I am a sinner. I’m  totally depraved and  I sin because I am a sinner. Please forgive me.

I realize that doing my best or being as good as possible, or being better than other people or having good excuses can never save me.
I look to You, alone  Lord Jesus to save me.
I call on You,  by name,  Lord Jesus, right now to save me.  You died on the cross in my place to pay  for my sin. Your Word says,  “It shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21. Thank You, Lord.

Right now, I surrender my sinful self  to You,  just as I am, Lord Jesus. I trust You to forgive me and save me and be my Lord and Savior.
Please forgive me for all my sins. I’m sorry for every sin (bad thoughts, words and things I have done) and look to You to forgive me of them all.  I need your strength to overcome sin’s temptations. Thank you for forgiving me.
You paid the price for all of my sins by dying on the cross.

Thank you Lord Jesus that You loved me and died for me before I was born and that You love me still.

Thank you Heavenly Father that You have made the way  of  redemption, forgiveness and  atonement for me  and have drawn me away from sin and death into Life  in Your only begotten son.  He took  my place and suffered my punishment.

Thank You, Heavenly Father that you raised Jesus from the dead. He is ALIVE and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave. In Christ Jesus there is therefore now no condemnation.

Thank You for saving me heavenly Father and for sending the Holy Spirit for my guidance, comfort  and solemn instruction into all truth,  Amen.”

With all my heart, I thank you Lord Jesus for saving me. In your name, Lord Jesus I pray, Amen.

SACRED LITERATURE:

ORIGINAL: The Pilgrim’s Progress  Pub. by Logos,1853 from 1678 Original by John Bunyan

REVISED TEXT by Barry E. Horner: The Pilgrim’s Progrefs [sic]...

in Pilgrim’s Progress. (The World’s most widely circulated Allegory by John Bunyan, also credited, by some, as being the world’s first English novel.

IT’S FREE. No subscription required. You may choose to read at your own pace, or you may want to view DailySpugeon.com for daily encounters with Pilgrim.)

"Christ in us is Christ reigning." reminds me [Spurgeon's comment] of Mr. Bunyan’s picture of [the town of] Mansoul, …when the Prince Immanuel laid siege to it, and Diabolus from within the city strove to keep him out. It was a, hard time for Mansoul then; but when at last the battering rams had broken down the gates, and the silver trumpets sounded, and the prince’s captains entered the breach, then on a day the prince himself did ride down the city’s streets, while liberated citizens welcomed him with all their hearts, hung out all their streamers, and made the church towers rock again as the bells rang out merry peals [melody] , for the king himself was come. Up to the castle of the heart he rode in triumph, and took his royal throne to be henceforth the sole lord and king of the city.

Christ in you is a right royal word. Christ swaying his scepter from the center of your being over every power and faculty, desire and resolve, bringing every thought into captivity to himself, oh, this is glory begun, and the sure pledge of heaven. Oh for more of the imperial sovereignty of Jesus; it is our liberty to be absolutely under his sway.

ADULT AUDIO Episodes and CHILDREN’S VIDEO Story Parts:

You may choose to read or listen to Pilgrim’s Progress as a bed time story.

It’s the world’s most famous allegory and is the all-time, world-wide best seller second only to the Bible. Some believe it to be the world’s first novel written in English.

It will bless, encourage and instruct pilgrims (readers and seekers) of all ages for a life-time.

  A SINNER’S   PRAYER

Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21

Pray and call on the name of the Lord Jesus.

Pray like this, won’t you? :

“Lord Jesus, I’m a lost sinner hopeless without You.  I would never be able to save myself. Without your death on the cross to pay my sin debt I would be condemned to spend eternity condemned in Hell. By nature  and  practice I am a natural-born sinner. I’m  totally depraved and  I sin because I am a sinner. Please forgive me.

I realize that doing my best or being as good as possible, or being better than other people or having good excuses can never save me.

I look to You, alone  Lord Jesus to save me.
I call on You,  by name  right now Lord Jesus to save me.  You died on the cross in my place to pay  for my sin. Your Word says,  “It shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21. Thank You, Lord.

Right now, I surrender my sinful self  to You,  just as I am, Lord Jesus and I trust You to forgive and save me and be my Lord and Master.

Please allow us to celebrate your new birth with the angels in heaven who are celebrating right now.   Please e-mail or   write to: The John Mark Publishing Company,  PO BOX 21, San Juan Capistrano, CA  92693, U.S.A.  or  e-mail: michaelriley1008@gmail.com

MISSION STATEMENT:
Our aim is to encourage  God’s purpose in one another, to save souls, strengthen and encourage believers in the Word, and proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ.

We believe the Bible is God’s revealed Word and that through His Word He guides us as individuals and as a local body of believers. We are resolved, God helping us, to study, meditate and pray to rightly divide God’s revealed and preserved Word holding it as the final authority in all things.
The purpose of The John Mark Publishing Company is to make known the Gospel of The Lord Jesus Christ to everyone. We desire to show the love of Jesus  to all, especially those in need and those in the household of faith. The Bible is God’s everlasting, inspired, (God breathed) inerrant, (error free) immutable (unchangeable), and infallible (incapable of being wrong) divinely protected and preserved  message of salvation to the whole world.  It is the essence of  the ministry  inspired here.
The  inspirational source of  preaching, teaching and writing  by Charles Haddon Spurgeon is from this same essence.  His writings continue to be  much read and much used today in the  support of Gospel preaching. Such ministry is still flourishing  in London at  the Metropolitan Tabernacle,  the church constructed for the 6,000 member congregation in the 1800's. Our effort here is to increase  the publication, circulation and use of Spurgeon's materials for the benefit of the church body as well as all other readers.  To this end we have arranged a daily Table of Contents and have added brief annotations [shown in brackets]  while maintaining a strict fidelity to Spurgeon’s original and unabridged text.

Published Titles from Spurgeon’s written work are used exclusively as the resource from which
selections are made for inclusion into the Devotion each day from Daily Spurgeon:

·       C.H. Spurgeon Prayers

·       Spurgeon’s  Illustrative Anecdotes

·       Faith’s Checkbook

·       Morning &  Evening

These titles of devotional support  are from the body of inspired work from the gospel preaching and writings of Charles Haddon Spurgeon 1834-1892.

No servant of God has given a greater legacy of gospel exposition to the world in the English language.  Spurgeon has been and is today widely read with great benefit from the 1800’s to this present time. He was the beloved venerable pastor of

Prayer: Dear Lord, please empower this, Your ministry to thrive in winning souls, and helping us to be loving and compassionate toward all who are in need, especially those in the household of faith, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
Disclaimer: The John Mark Publishing Company is not intended to praise or exalt  Charles H. Spurgeon. He didn’t need or want it then and wouldn’t desire it now. Our intention is to lift up and glorify the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and to preach HIM and .
Precaution: These Messages and prayers alone will not substitute for continual fellowship with the Lord Jesus. Neither do they replace personal reading, meditation, prayer and fasting over God's divinely protected, preserved and eternally immutable Word. (The King James version (KJV), known also as the Authorized Version (AV), is the preferred English Bible because its accuracy and fidelity to the Greek Textus Receptus [received text] and the Hebrew Masoretic Text) are inerrant and infallible and avoid doctrinal and editorial weaknesses  found in all contemporary versions that all follow the inferior Greek text of the Critical text theory advanced by Westcott and Hort.
The Printed Prayer Selection must not be read or offered as a substitute for personal, fervent, effectual, heart-felt, prayer. It  is intended rather, to bless and warm the hearts of those who presently seek a season of fervent, authentic two-way, heart-to-heart  fellowship and prayer with the Father, His Son and the Holy Spirit.

Preaching  Preparation:  If you are studying or preparing to preach from a specific, scripture text, Please inform us so that we may  send you a Sermon from Mr. Spurgeon on the message, precept and application most closely aligned to your selected text.

My Prayer,  Dear Father,  is that You bless, lift up, encourage and teach all readers that You guide here.  Bless all those who minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ and may Your holy anointing fall fresh, continually upon each one who rightly divides and faithfully proclaims Your Word. Save many souls and make disciples of all who love and follow You. Be glorified in everything that is done in Your name, Lord Jesus.  Amen.

… and pray for souls to be saved.

The Lord … is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.  2 Peter 3:9

Pray also that believers will rightly divide God’s inerrant eternal Word forever settled in heaven.  Psalm 119:89

 MISSION PURPOSE:
Our aim is to trust and obey the Lord Jesus Christ in everything. We rely wholly upon the Holy Spirit to impart God’s  divine revelation to us from His Word, the Holy Bible.  With God’s help, we will follow Jesus.  We expect  that lost souls will be saved, believers, comforted, strengthened and encouraged. To  God be all the glory.

The Bible is God’s divinely inspired [God breathed] revealed, infinite, eternal, inerrant, infallible, immutable Word to all mankind.  This divine, supernatural Word brings all revealed truth to the world. We purpose, therefore, to follow  God’s Holy Word, Personal guidance and guidance to the local church comes by His Word.

Hence, we resolve, God helping us, to read, study, meditate-on, trust-in  and obey God’s revealed and divinely preserved Word,  holding it to be the supreme authority and the only divinely established Stare Decisis [Latin: to stand by that which is decided] in all things.

Therefore, the purpose of The John Mark Publishing Company is to publish and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every creature, ministering God’s love to all, especially those in the household of faith.  The Bible is God’s everlasting, inspired, (God breathed) inerrant, infallible, unchangeable, divinely protected and preserved Word of love and salvation to the entire world.  It is also the essential foundation of this ministry.
History: The  inspired preaching, teaching and writing  of Charles Haddon Spurgeon is all empowered by God’s revealed Word the Bible.  His written publications continue to benefit readers through authentic Gospel preaching and sound biblical teaching. This ministry continues to flourish from  (Spurgeon’s)  Metropolitan Tabernacle, (Brief History) a church fellowship that was begun in 1650. The building was constructed by members of the congregation in 1861.

We present Spurgeon's printed  materials for the edification of the church body as well as for the benefit, blessing and gospel challenge to all readers. Our desire is that the written Word of God will become the Living  Word in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ to each and every reader.

Dailyspurgeon.com is offered to encourage and provide opportunity to hear Gospel preaching, and to engage in daily devotional meditation, Bible study and prayer. Careful adherence to Spurgeon’s calendar and  original, unabridged text is given herein.

No servant of God has left a greater legacy of presenting the Gospel to the world in the English language. (Now translated into many other languages)  Spurgeon is widely read with great benefit. He is a beloved pastor and founder of the Metropolitan Tabernacle in London, England, still thriving TODAY.  You’re invited to Live-stream worship services from London with Dr. Peter Masters, current  pastor since 1960.
Prayer: Dear Lord, empower your ministry to win many souls, and serve those in need, especially those in the household of faith, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

Disclaimer: The John Mark Publishing Company does not solicit praise of  Charles H. Spurgeon or his writing or preaching.  He didn’t need or want it then and wouldn’t desire it now.  Our aim is to lift up and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and to preach HIM only and him crucified.

Precaution: These Messages and prayers will not substitute for continual fellowship with the Lord Jesus nor gathering for corporate worship. Neither do they replace personal reading, meditation, prayer and fasting over God's divinely preserved and eternal Word.

The Authorized King James version (AKJV), also known as the Authorized Version (AV), is the preferred English Bible because it is translated into English accurately and faithfully from the Greek Textus Receptus [received text] and the Hebrew Masoretic Text  that bring the greatest glory to God and avoids doctrinal error, inaccuracies in translation, editorial changes or ambiguous readings found in other translations. It is distinguished further by the requirement of Great Brittan that all King James bibles be printed only by the Cambridge University Press, the Crown’s authorized printer.

My Prayer: Dear Father,  is that You would touch, lift up, encourage and teach all who faithfully minister your Word.  Bless all who minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ. May Your blessing and holy anointing fall fresh upon each dear reader and abide with each one who rightly divides and faithfully proclaims Your Word  [The Bible]. Please save many souls; and may all be glory be yours alone. I pray this in the name of our Redeemer, The Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
