Saint Valentine’s Day

The King was clear, “No marriages here!
… Cause single men, they have no fear.”
They have no worry, no debts to pay,
They love to fight, most every day.
No married partner by his side,
No wife, no kids, no gorgeous bride.
But God’s dear Word hath set the tone:
“It’s Not so good, that man’s alone.”
It isn’t right! Don’t stand between us!
“Marry Then!” said Valentinus.
By the scores he helped them wed.
In Holy bliss they often said.
Valentinus was arrested,
By his loved one he was tested.
She was blind and could not hear.
His prayer to God, God did hold dear.
Smitten by her love and charms;
He Saved the Jailer from all harms.
The Jailer heard the Savior’s call;
Forever saved him, all-in-all.
When on the path to martyrdom,
He sent his sweet, “Be mine.”
He wrote his name and stated thus:
“I am forever thine.”

GOD'S people have their trials. It was never de¬signed by God, when He chose His people, that they should be an untried [untested] people. They were chosen in the furnace of affliction; they were never chosen to worldly peace and earthly joy. Freedom from sickness and the pains of mortality was never promised them; but when their Lord drew up the charter of privileges, He included chastisements among the things to which they would inevitably be heirs. Trials are a part of our lot; they were predestined for us in God's solemn decrees and bequeathed us in Christ's last legacy. So [As] surely as the stars are fashioned by his hands, and their orbits fixed by Him, so surely are our trials allotted to us: He has ordained their season [time] and their place, their intensity and the effect they will have on us. Good men must never expect to escape troubles; if they do, they will be disappointed, for none of their predecessors has been without them [troubles].
Mark [note and consider] the patience of Job; remember Abraham, for he had his trials, and by his faith through them he became the "Father of the faithful."
Note well the biographies of all the patriarchs, prophets, apostles, and martyrs, and you will discover none of God's vessels of mercy who were not made to pass through the fire of affliction. It is ordained of old that the cross of trouble should be engraven [engraved] on every vessel [container] of mercy as the royal mark whereby the King's vessels [containers] of honor are distinguished.
But although tribulation [trouble] is thus the path of God's children, they have the comfort of knowing that their Master has traveled it before them. They have His presence and sympathy to cheer them, His grace to support them, and His example to teach them how to endure [keep on going], and
when they reach "the kingdom"
it will more than make amends [make up for] the "much tribulation" through which they passed to enter it.

TO every matter [situation] there is a bright as well as a dark side. Rachel was overwhelmed with the sorrow of her own travail [childbirth] and death; Jacob, though weeping [over] the mother's loss, could see the mercy of the child's birth. It is well for us if, while the flesh mourns over trials, our faith triumphs in divine faithfulness.
Samson's lion [killed with his own bare hands] yielded honey, and
so will our adversities, if rightly considered.
The stormy sea feeds multitudes with its fishes; the wild wood blooms with beauteous [beautiful] flowers; the stormy wind sweeps away the pestilence [pests and insects], and the biting frost loosens the soil. Dark clouds distill bright drops [of rain], and black earth grows gay [colorful] flowers.
A vein of good is to be found in every mine of evil. Sad hearts have peculiar skill in discovering the most disadvantageous point of view from which to look at a trial; if there were only one slough [bog or swamp] in the world, they would soon be up to their necks in it, and if there were only one lion in the desert they would hear it roar. About us all there is a tinge of this wretched folly, and at times we, like Jacob, are apt to cry,
"All these things are [everything is] against me."
Faith's way of walking is to cast all care [burdens] upon the Lord, and then to anticipate good results from the worst calamities.
Like Gideon's men, faith does not fret over the broken pitcher, but she rejoices that the lamp blazes forth [all] the more. Out of the rough oyster shell of difficulty she extracts the rare pearl of honor, and from the deep ocean caves of distress she lifts up the priceless coral of experience.
When her flood of prosperity ebbs, she finds treasures hid in the sands; and when her sun of delight goes down, she turns her telescope of hope to the starry promises of heaven.
When death itself appears, faith points to the light of resurrection beyond the grave,
making our dying Ben-oni [son of sorrow] into a living Benjamin [Son of my right hand] .

A person may come to Jesus by believing and (whole heartedly) praying like this:
“Lord Jesus, I’m a sinner. I’m lost and hopeless without You. I will never be able to save myself by my own merits. Without you and your death on the cross I would deserve and spend forever in Hell.

I come to You right now. Lord Jesus. Please save me. I believe You died on the cross in my place to pay for my sin debt and put to death my sin nature. I know You always keep your word. Please save me. You say and it’s written in the Bible that you won’t reject anyone who comes to You. I'm coming to You now. Thank You for saving me.
I give myself (all of myself) to You, Lord Jesus. I declare that You are my Savior and Lord. I’m sorry for and I turn away from every sin (every bad thought, every bad word I have spoken and every bad thing I have ever done) and look to You free me from the penalty of sin, to keep me free from the power of sin and empower me overcome any temptation from sin’s presence. Thank you for forgiving all of my sins by dying on the cross to pay the punishment that I deserve. (I was a sinner by nature and by behavior). But now I'm washed clean by Your blood that was shed [poured out] for me at Calvary [at the cross].
Thank you Lord Jesus that You loved me and died for me before I was born and that You love me now and will always love me and will never reject or turn your back on me. I know You are the Way, the Truth and the Life and that no one can come to the Father other than by You.
Thank you Father that You have made a way for me to see myself as ungodly. But, because You are good You have made a way and given me the desire to come to You, to turn away from my sin and to trust in the Lord Jesus. You have forgiven me because He took my place and You have provided for me to be born again [born from above, born of the Holy Spirit].
You prompted this desire and faith to believe in Your only begotten Son who,gave up His life and died on the cross to pay my sin debt, not mine alone, but the sins of the whole world.
Thank You, Heavenly Father that you raised Jesus from the dead. He is ALIVE and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave and in Christ Jesus there is no condemnation. After You raised Him from the dead You gave Him a Glorified, [everlasting] physical body and after he was seen by many witnesses on earth You took Him up to reign with You in heaven.
I pray this in the name, of Your only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ with a grateful heart. Thank You for saving me heavenly Father and for sending the Comforter, The Spirit of Truth, for my guidance and solemn instruction into all truth., Amen.”
Thank You Holy Spirit of Truth, The Comforter, The Paraclete [true friend who is by your side and always has your back] for the new life in Jesus and the victory that comes when I recon myself dead indeed unto sin and alive unto God through Christ Jesus our Lord trusting You, Holy Spirit for Your empowerment to see this promise fulfilled. Romans 6:11
Thank you that you, Holy Spirit, always exalt [lift up] the Lord Jesus. John 16:8-11
With all my heart, I thank you Lord Jesus for saving me.
