PRAYER 21, Part 6 of 8 June 5th BOLDNESS AT THE THRONE OF GRACE
O Lord! stir up the dwellers in this great, great city. Oh! arouse us to the spiritual destitution of the masses O God, help us all by some means, by any means, by every means to get at the ears of men for [Jesus] Christ’s sake that so we may reach their hearts [their hearts may be reached]. We would [do] send up an exceeding great and bitter cry to Thee on behalf of the millions that: enter no place of worship, but rather violate its sanctity and despise its blessed message.
Lord! wake up London, [all great cities] we beseech [beg] Thee.
Send us another Jonah; send us another John the Baptist. Oh! that the Christ [Jesus] Himself would send forth multitudes of laborers amongst this thick standing [growing] corn, for the harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few.
O God! save this city; save this country; save all countries; and let Thy kingdom come; may every knee bow and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Our most earnest prayers go up to heaven to Thee now for great sinners, for men and women that are polluted and depraved by the filthiest of sins. With sovereign mercy make a raid amongst them. Come and capture some of these that they may become great lovers of Him [You, Lord Jesus] that shall forgive them, and may they become great champions for the cross. [We thank you for the unspeakable gift of salvation and for the high calling to serve You in proclaiming Your gospel under Your banner of love, in Your name, Lord Jesus, Amen.]

ANECDOTE 303: June 5th A SPIRITUAL BIRTHPLACE.
I knew a gray-headed old man, who was in the habit of doing this. He once took a boy to a certain tree, and said, “Now, John, you kneel down at that tree, and I will kneel down with you.” He knelt down and prayed, and asked God to convert him and save his soul. “ Now,” said he, “perhaps you will come to this tree again; and if you are not converted, you will remember that I asked under this tree that God would save your soul.” That young man went away, and forgot the old man’s prayer; but it chanced as God would have it that he walked down that field again, and saw a tree. It seemed as if the old man’s name was cut in the bark. He recollected what he prayed for, and that the prayer was not fulfilled; but, he dare not pass the tree without kneeling down to pray himself; and there was his spiritual birthplace. The simplest observation of the Christian shall be made a blessing, if God help him.
“His leaf also shall not wither” the simplest word he speaks shall be treasured up ;
“and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”

What! Has God power over the tongues of dogs? Can he keep curs [mutts] from barking? Yes, it is even so. He can even prevent an Egyptian dog from worrying one of the lambs of Israel’s flock. Doth [Does] God silence dogs, and doggish ones among men, and the great dog at hell’s gate?
Then let us move on our way without fear. If He lets dogs move their tongues, yet He can stop their teeth. They may make a dreadful noise, and still do us no real harm. Yet, how sweet is quiet! How delightful to move about among enemies, and perceive that God maketh [makes] them to be at peace with us!
Like Daniel in the den of lions, we are unhurt amid destroyers. Oh, that today, this word of the Lord to Israel might be true to me! Does the [barking] dog worry me? I will tell my Lord about him.
Lord, he does not care for my pleadings; do thou speak the word of power, and he must lie down. Give me peace, O my God, and let me see thy hand so distinctly in it that I may most clearly perceive the difference which thy grace has made between me and the ungodly!
Prayer: Oh Lord, we know that as you protected Daniel in the lion’s den you will also protect us [your children]. You control even the barking of dogs. May our walk be courageous, free from the fear of barking enemies, Thank You for the care and protection You give to us in the name of the Lord Jesus, Amen.
Remember, God protects us as his own dear children.

MORNING June 5th "THE LORD SHUT HIM IN."— Genesis 7:16

NOAH was shut in, away from all the world by the hand of divine love.

The door of electing purpose [divine election] interposes [stands] between us and the world which lies in the hands of the wicked one.
We are not of the world even as our Lord Jesus was not of the world.
We cannot enter into the sin, the gaiety, the pursuits of the multitude; we cannot play in the streets of Vanity Fair [worldliness] with the children of darkness, for our heavenly Father has shut us in. Noah, in John Bunyan’s Pilgrim’sProgress, (Click for the World’s most famous allegory] was shut in with his God.
"Come into the ark,"
was the Lord's invitation, by which He clearly showed that He Himself intended to dwell in the ark with His servant [Noah] and his family.
Thus, all the chosen dwell in God and God in them.
Happy people to be enclosed in the same circle that contains God in the Trinity of His persons, Father, Son, and [Holy] Spirit. Let us never be inattentive to that gracious call,
"Come, my people, enter into your chambers [rooms], and shut your doors about you, and hide yourself as it were for a little moment until the indignation [evil affrontery] be over past [be gone]."
Noah was so shut in that no evil could reach him. Floods did but lift [only lifted] him heavenward, and winds did but waft [carry] him on his way. Outside of the ark all was ruin, but inside all was rest and peace.
Without Christ we perish, but in Christ Jesus there is perfect safety. Noah was so shut in that he could not even desire to come out, and those who are in Christ Jesus are in Him forever.
They will go no more out for ever, for eternal faithfulness has shut them in, and infernal [hellish] malice cannot drag them out.
The Prince of the house of David [the Lord Jesus] shuts and no man opens; and when once in the last days as Master of the house He will rise up and shut the door, it will be in vain for Christians, in name only, to knock, and cry Lord, Lord open unto us; for the same door that shuts in the wise virgins will shut out the foolish [ones] forever.
Lord, shut me in by Your grace.

EVENING June 5th "HE THAT LOVETH NOT KNOWETH NOT GOD." —1 John 4:8

THE distinguishing mark of a Christian is his confidence in the love of Christ, and the yielding [giving] of his affections to Christ in return.
First, faith sets her seal on a man by enabling the soul to say with the apostle,
"Christ loved me and gave Himself for me."
Then love gives the countersign, [password] and stamps upon the heart gratitude and love to Jesus in return.
"We love Him because He first loved us."
In those grand old ages, which are the heroic period of the Christian religion, this double mark was clearly seen in all believers in Jesus;
they were men who knew the love of Christ, and rested on it as a man leans on a staff [walking cane] whose trustiness he has tried. The love they felt towards the Lord was not a quiet emotion they hid within themselves in the secret chamber of their souls and only spoke of in their private assemblies, when they met on the first day of the week and sang hymns in honor of Christ Jesus the crucified;
but it was a passion with them of such a vehement [white-hot fire] and all-consuming energy that it was visible in all their actions, spoke in their common talk [daily conversation], and looked [shone] out of their eyes even in their commonest glances.
Love to Jesus was a flame that fed on the core and heart [essence] of their being; and, therefore, from its own force burned its way into the outer man, and shone there.
Zeal for the glory of King Jesus was [is] the seal and mark of all genuine Christians. Because of their dependence on Christ's love, they dared much, and because of their love to Christ they did much, and it is the same now.
The children of God are ruled in their inmost powers by love
—the love of Christ constrains them;
they rejoice that divine love is set on them, they feel it shed abroad in their hearts by the Holy Ghost, which is given to them, and then by force of gratitude they love the Savior with a pure heart, fervently.

do you love Him?
Before you sleep give an honest answer to a weighty [very important] question!

(1 One) His Name is INCOMPREHENSIBLE!

No, I’m Traditional Text only. But if you come to the view and the conviction of being Traditional Text only, you will be Only King James.
The issue is not translational.
Marketing ploys by publishing companies that have little basis in reality would have us to believe that the new versions are:

More modern.

More accurate (Not true)
The most popular. (KJV is still the most popularly read Bible in America)
The issue comes down to the textual issue. By That, I refer to the underlying Greek text. I guess we could say texts, plural but particularly that of the New Testament. On the one hand is the Traditional Text from which the only major English translation is the King James Version of the Bible. The Traditional Text.
On the other hand, is the Critical Text sometimes called the eclectic text from whence all the other translations come. And some will say well there really is no difference between them. The difference you could amount to is just the footnotes in the bottom of a page. (This is Not true) He was not dishonest but just repeating what someone had told him.

It’s also considered, by some, as being the world’s first English novel. It’s likely the most published book other than the Bible of all time. There were 1,300 editions printed before 1938, 250 years after the Bunyan’s death. Hence, the world’s most famous Allegory.

Spurgeon: Christ in us is Christ reigning." reminds me of Mr. Bunyan’s picture of [the town of] Mansoul, …when the Prince Immanuel laid siege to it, and Diabolus from within the city strove to keep him out. It was a, hard time for Mansoul then; but when at last the battering rams had broken down the gates, and the silver trumpets sounded, and the prince’s captains entered the breach, then on a day the prince himself did ride down the city’s streets, while liberated citizens welcomed him with all their hearts, hung out all their streamers, and made the church towers rock again as the bells rang out merry peals [happy melodies] , for the king himself was come. Up to the castle of the heart [main castle] he rode in triumph, and took his royal throne to be henceforth the sole lord and king of the city.
Christ in you is a right royal word. Christ swaying his scepter from the center of your being over every power and faculty, desire and resolve, bringing every thought into captivity to himself, Oh, this is glory begun, and the sure pledge of heaven. Oh, for more of the imperial sovereignty of Jesus, The Messiah; our liberty to be absolutely under his sway.

BOLDNESS AT THE THRONE OF GRACE
Move men who have gifts and ability also to preach the Gospel. There are many that live in villages, and there is no gospel preaching near them. Lord! set them preaching themselves.
Wilt Thou [Won’t You] move some hearts so powerfully that their tongues cannot be quiet any longer, and may they attempt in some way, either personally or by supporting someone, to bring the gospel into dark benighted hamlets [neighborhoods] that the people may know the truth. [We praise You and thank you for the unspeakable gift of salvation and for the high calling to serve You by proclaiming the gospel, Lord Jesus, Amen.]

ANECDOTE 302: A Poor Woman’s Throne.
I had an engraving [picture] sent to me the other day which pleased me beyond measure. It was an engraving [picture] simply but exquisitely executed. It represented a poor girl in an upper room, with a lean-to roof. There was a post driven in the ground, on which was a piece of wood, standing on which were a candle and a Bible. She was on her knees at a chair, praying, wrestling with God. Everything in the room had on it the stamp of poverty. There was the mean [plain and rough] coverlet [bed spread] to the old stump bedstead; [bed frame] there were the walls that had never been papered, and perhaps scarcely whitewashed. It was an upper story to which she had climbed with aching knees, and where, perhaps, she had worked away till her fingers were worn to the bone, to earn her bread at needle-work. There it was that she was wrestling with God. Some would turn away and laugh at it; but it appeals to the best feelings of man, and moves the heart far more than does the fine engraving [picture] of the monarch [royals] on their knees in the grand assembly.

In the days of Malachi, the chosen of the Lord were accustomed so to converse with each other that their God Himself listened to their talk. Pleased with their conversation, He was also pleased with them. Pause, my soul, [listen, my heart] and ask thyself: If Jesus were to listen to thy talk would He be pleased with it? Is it to His glory and to the edification of the brotherhood? Say, my soul, and be sure thou sayest [tell] the truth. But what will the honor be for us poor creatures to be reckoned by the Lord to be His crown jewels!
This honor have all the saints. Jesus not only says,
-They are mine- but, -They shall be mine-
He bought us, sought us, brought us in, and has so far wrought us to [made us into] His image, that we shall be fought for by Him with all His might.
Prayer: Lord, we find joy in realizing how precious Your redeemed are to You. May our conversation always please you, as well. Lord. I pray this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

"The kindness and love of God our Savior." —Titus 3:4

HOW sweet it is to behold the Savior communing with His own beloved people! There can be nothing more delightful than to be led by the Divine Spirit into this fertile field of delight.
Let the mind consider for an instant the history of the Redeemer's love, and a thousand enchanting acts of affection will suggest themselves, all of which have had for their purpose
the weaving of the heart into Christ, and the inter-twisting [intertwining] of the thoughts and emotions of the renewed soul with the mind of Jesus.
When we meditate on this amazing love, and behold the all-glorious Kinsman of the Church endowing her with all His ancient wealth, our souls may well faint for joy.
Who is he, that can endure such a weight of love?
That partial sense of it which the Holy Spirit is sometimes pleased to give, is more than the soul can contain; how transporting must be a complete view of it!
When the soul has understanding to discern all the Savior's gifts, wisdom wherewith to estimate them, and time in which to meditate on them, such as the world to come will give us, then we will commune with Jesus in a nearer manner than at present.
But who can imagine the sweetness of such fellowship? It must be one of the things that have not entered into the heart of man, but that
God has prepared for them that love Him.
Oh, to burst open the door of our Joseph's granaries [storehouses], and see the plenty he has stored up for us!
This will overwhelm us with love.
By faith we see, as in a glass darkly, the reflected image of his unbounded treasures, but
when we actually see the heavenly things themselves with our own eyes, how deep will be the stream of fellowship in which our soul will bathe itself!
Until then our loudest sonnets [poems] will be reserved for our loving benefactor, Jesus Christ our Lord,
whose love to us is wonderful, passing the love of mere humans.

We have seen our well-beloved Lord in the days of His flesh, humiliated and sore vexed [very annoyed]; for He was
"despised and rejected of men, a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief."
He whose brightness is as the morning, wore the sackcloth of sorrow as His daily dress:
shame was His mantle, [cloak] and reproach was His vesture [clothing]. Yet now, inasmuch as He has triumphed over all the powers of darkness upon the bloody tree,
our faith beholds our King returning with dyed garments from Edom, robed in the *splendor of victory.
How glorious must He have been in the eyes of seraphs [angels], when a cloud received Him out of mortal sight, and He ascended up to heaven!
Now He wears the glory which He had with God or ever the earth was [since the beginning], and yet another glory above all--that which He has well earned in the fight against sin, death, and hell.
As victor He wears the illustrious [shinning] crown. Hark [listen closely] how the song swells high [becomes a loud crescendo]! It is a new and sweeter song:
"Worthy is the Lamb that was slain, for He hath redeemed us unto God by His blood!"
He wears the glory of an Intercessor [one who pleads for another] who can never fail, of a Prince who can never be defeated, of a Conqueror who has vanquished [conquered] every foe, of a Lord who has the heart's allegiance [fervent loyalty] of every subject. Jesus wears all the glory which the pomp of heaven can bestow upon [give] Him, which ten thousand times ten thousand angels can minister to Him.
You cannot with your utmost stretch of imagination conceive His exceeding greatness; yet there will be a further revelation of it when He shall descend from heaven in great power, with all the holy angels—
"Then shall He sit upon the throne of His glory."
Oh, the *splendor of that glory! It will ravish [enthusiastically excite] His people's hearts.
Nor is this the close [end], for eternity shall sound His praise,
"Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever!"
Reader, if you would joy in Christ's glory hereafter, He must be glorious in your sight now.

“Lord Jesus, I’m a lost sinner and without You I am hopeless. I can’t save myself. Without your death on the cross for my sin debt I would be condemned to spend eternity condemned to Hell. I have been self-centered from birth. Please forgive me.
I realize that doing my best, being as good as possible, or being better than other people can never save me. . I’m guilty and sorry for each and every sin I have done and look to You to forgive me of them all.
I look to You, alone Lord Jesus to save me.

Thank You, Lord Jesus, that You have forgiven me of all my sins. I ask You to abide in me and give me the desire to always follow You.
You paid the price for all of my sins by dying on the cross. Even the sins of the whole world.
Thank you, Lord Jesus that You loved me and died for me even before I was born and that You still love me now. I love You too.
Thank you, Heavenly Father, that You have called me away from sin and death into the Life everlasting in Your only begotten son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Thank You, Heavenly Father that you raised Jesus from the dead. He is ALIVE and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave. Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. [Holy Ghost, Comforter, Spirit of Truth]
Thank You for saving me heavenly Father. With all my heart, thank you Father for saving me in Jesus’ name, Amen.

In 1870, The Anglican Church of England passed a resolution to revise the English Bible. The New Testament revision committee which finally consisted of 25 scholars (though only about 16 eventually attended the meetings) which included Westcott and Hort. The committee worked for ten years in the Jerusalem chamber, and these two scholars swept the Revision Committee along with them after work commenced. In fact, the “Cambridge trio” (Westcott, Hort and Lightfoot) colluded with others to dominate the meetings with their views of the text and to defeat any who opposed them. Their *letters reveal this conspiracy:

The only voice defending the Textus Receptus was Dr Scrivener, probably the foremost scholar of the day in the manuscripts of the Greek New Testament and the history of the Text. But he was systematically outvoted by the Cambridge trio and outdone by Hort’s powerful debating skill. When the revision was completed, the revision committee had altered the Greek Text in 5,337 places,
thus violating the original rule that had been set for the committee of not altering the Greek Text unless absolutely necessary to do so.

CONCLUSION
In conclusion, let it be said that no matter how good any modern version of the New Testament is in other ways, it is clearly blemished if the work of Westcott and Hort is present in it. The presence of their work means that it is based on a defective text. Those who want to honor the Word of God must not promote the use of any of these versions by the church, not because the content of the version is entirely evil in itself, but because being contented to use a weakened version rather than the existing, preserved, without error unblemished one, dishonors God. If God has preserved for His people a good Greek text of the New Testament for 18 centuries, how dishonoring it would be to Him if His people now chose instead to use versions that are based on defective Greek manuscript created by Westcott & Hort or Nestle & Aland.

All other versions are translated from Greek text created by either Westcott and Hort or the Nestle-Aland that was rendered by “Chery-picking” only 55 Greek manuscripts or fragments. These do not even agree with themselves and far less with the preserved and protected Textus Receptus.
