Devotion for September 3rd A. D. 2025

Note: The New King James Version NKJV and all versions that are NOT translated from the Textus Receptus [Received Text] are inferior to the translations of the 1769 [1611] King James Version, KJV and the Geneva Bible. Only these two translations have remained faithful to the traditional Textus Receptus.
Only the Textus Receptus [Received Text] is sustained by more than 5,321 Majority Greek Text MT Manuscripts and stand in agreement with one another 99% . ALL OTHER readings have as their primary Greek source either Westcott and Hort’s or Nestle and Aland’s, Greek Texts fabricated from only a handful [45] of Majority Text Manuscripts and lack the trustworthiness produced in the inspired 1769 [1611] King James Version, KJV and the Geneva Bibles; the 1only two translated from the reliable, inspired and divinely protected Textus Receptus.

(169 mins.)
The Bridge to Babylon video presents historical evidence to account for the explosion of over 100 different English version translations of the Bible. The continuing attempts to replace, add or take away from the 1769 King James Version of the Holy Bible can not prevail because GOD Himself preserves and protects His inspired Holy Words
from all heresy, blasphemy, confusion , error additions, subtractions and changes.

Defend the Truth. Won’t you? ...More
Is this website trustworthy?
Is it of God?
Beloved ones, don’t be believing every spirit [everyone or everything] you hear but be testing the spirit [voice] whether it is of God: because many false prophets have gone [come] out into the world. Here’s how you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit [voice] that confesses [avows] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh, having come[who came] out of God, is of God: and every spirit that confesses not [doesn’t audibly avow] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
I therefore and hereby confess, out-loud, that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh.
[All translations of the Bible that use a Greek text other than the traditional Textus Receptus translate by ignoring “ictin” (the Greek word for “is”). This omission causes a change in meaning from “is come” [is here] to “has come”.
This error is self-evident due to the fact that non-believers, false prophets and even heretics can, and frequently do, say that He “has come” in the flesh.
While this is true at face value, this meaning does not render a valid test that will discern between the Spirit of God and the spirit of antichrist.
The most well documented fact in all recorded human history is that Jesus. the Christ [Messiah] has come in the flesh. The essential question to be ascertained, however, is not whether the spirit [words or person] being tested confess that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh but, it is of essential importance, to discern whether Jesus Christ, “is here, from God, in the flesh.”
30 for we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32
This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
Compare, here, scripture with scripture: “I speak concerning Christ and the church.” [the fleshly embodiment, here, of the body of Christ].

Jusus The Mesiah [Christ] has always and Forever will exist as the eternal WORD of God. John 1:1-2
He was born of a virgin 2,025 years ago in Bethlehem,
is alive today, and is coming soon for His bride; the Church (the redeemed).
1 Timothy 3:16
Authorized (King James) Version
16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
May the Holy Ghost draw you to the Lord Jesus Christ to receive Him as your Savior and LORD and may you audibly acknowledge Him as such and therefore be acknowledged by Him to His Father in heaven; The God of Abraham. Isaac and Jacob. “I and my Father are one”. You may then follow Him in your own baptism.
Jesus came from Galilee to Jordan to be baptized by John the Baptist. But, John forbad [refused] Him and said, “I have need to be baptized of You and [yet] you are coming to me?” [for baptism] And Jesus answering him said, “Suffer it to be so [Allow this]: for thus it becometh [is fitting and right for] us to fulfil all righteousness.”
Baptism is not essential for salvation. Remember, Jesus said to the thief on the cross, who acknowledged Jesus’ innocence and said to him. “Remember me when you come into your kingdom.” And Jesus said to him, “Verily [Truly] I say to you, Today you shall be with me in paradise.” Luke 23:43
The act of Baptism pictures the Lord’s death and resurrection and by extension through identification with Him, also pictures the believer’s death to self, atonement, and new, born-again life.
Baptism in the preaching of John the Baptist is that the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand and that Repentance from sin and the Baptism of atonement is required for salvation and is to be followed to fulfil all righteousness.
We Worship The Lord Jesus Christ (Messiah) in Spirit and in truth in prayer, Bible readings, scriptural meditation, gospel preaching, singing of sacred hymns and songs.
Daily Spurgeon, is dedicated to this purpose. This website is not intended, to take the place of gathering together in-person for fellowship and worship as a local body of believers and followers of Jesus Christ (The Messiah).
“Study to show yourself approved unto God, a worker that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing [accurately comprehending and declaring ] the word of truth.” [God’s immutable, infallible and inerrant Word.
To Be a fully devoted follower of the Lord Jesus Christ is my fervent desire. I have trusted and do now believe that he forgave all my sin when He died on the Cross. He died to save me eternally from sin to life everlasting.
I will, with His help, follow Him to invite and encouraging non-believers to repent , turn away from sin, look to Him alone and be saved.
We trust that all believers (old and new) will benefit in knowing that He will sustain, guide and build us up as we are being conformed to the image of Christ Jesus by the power of the Holy Ghost.
Daily Spurgeon is a collection of devotional writings, prayers, sacred hymns and literature and encouragement by Charles Haddon Spurgeon, that rightly divides the Gospel [Good News] of JESUS the CHRIST [MESSIAH] to save the lost and encourage all believers [followers of Jesus Christ].

C.H. Spurgeon The Peoples Preacher ( 70 min.) Historically accurate Feature Film of the one called The Prince of Preachers
2,018,939 views May 14, 2020 ―a video into the life and ministry of Charles Haddon Spurgeon, widely known first as the “people’s preacher” who was later known as “The Prince of Preachers”.
This Documentary Video follows the trials and triumphs of Charles Spurgeon with a keen historical accuracy always pointing to Jesus Christ to proclaim,
“Behold the Lamb of God which taketh [takes] away the sin of the world.”
It’s an intimate account of one of the greatest preachers in the history of the church. We follow him from his youth where, as a young preacher he is called Charlie, boy preacher of the Finns. to become the minister to London’s largest Baptist congregation and soon captures the love and respect of Great Britan to become one of its most influential and enduring figures.
Produced by the award-winning Christian Television Association and filmed on location in England, Scotland, France and Germany, this film vividly captures the spirit and message of a man whose eventful life is highly relevant to the present.

Thank You LORD for dailyspurgeon.com a website that proclaims Jesus as the the Christ [Messiah and Anointed King] to all the world .
This website ministry has grown from a simple beginning of sending e-mails of the daily promises from Charles Spurgeon’s Faith’s Checkbook to John Michael’s son, Jon Edward Riley (1971- 2021). When Jon Edward shared them with Others they asked to be added to the mailing list. This mailing list continues to be used to distribute dailyspurgeon.com and we trust it will continue to encourage fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ to greater vigor in their personal devotion of Love, obedience and oneness with Jesus Christ through the empowerment and obedience of GOD’S WORD by the Holy Ghost.
These Multiple Devotional publications by Charles Spurgeon are now brought together day by day at

Is dailyspurgeon.com trustworthy?
There are three primary Greek texts from which translations are made.
Westcott & Hort and Nestle & Aland created their own Greek text rather than using the traditional Textus Receptus, rendered from the 5,321 extant Greek manuscripts, known as the Majority Text.
Instead, they used their own Greek translations that they created with the use of only a handful [45] Greek manuscripts hand picked from the 5,321 Majority Texts.
Their Greek translation has allowed variant and misguided readings and diminishes honor and glory due only to GOD and is therefore faulty.
Translations other than King James overlook the original Greek verb “ictin” [To be] [is] (third person singular) that is translated in virtually all Majority Texts MT and subsequently in the Textus Receptus [Received Text] therefore they fail to correctly translate the Greek verb as, “Is come” [Is here]. (When it’s ranslated aright from the Received Text (TR) in the King James Version only)
This error occurs because the modern critical Greek text, created by Westcott & Hort and Nestles & Alland DO NOT follow the MT [Majority Texts] of 5,321 Greek manuscripts that affirm substantial majorityagreement with one another. The TR [Textus Receptus] is rendered from this overwhelming body of agreement from Majority Text of primary manuscript sources.
Both Westcott & Hort and Nestles & Aland have omitted the verb “is”, from the Greek text. This error may be described as res ipsa loquitur meaning the thing speaks for itself.
Therefore, the alternate Greek fabrications generated by these two sources are not actually translations at all but their own creations.
How do we know?
Because non-believers and false prophets can indeed, and often do, affirm that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh. Practically anyone can make this confession as the birth of Jesus Christ is considered by virtually all respected historians to be the most well documented fact in history. That He has come is generally acknowledged by nonbelievers and believers alike. However, here’s the point. There is a huge difference between “Has come” and “Is Here”. “Has come” falls woefully short of the essential and clear meaning of the confession “Is Here”. Just because something “has come” it can not be assumed, inferred or deduced that it also “is here”.
The “has come” assertion is not surprising nor is it, per se, a false statement. Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. However, this fails to present a Rubric necessary to discern whether the sprit [voice] being tested [tried] is from God or from false prophets in the spirit of antichrist.
Again, the expression “has come” rather than “is come” [is here] is not, per se a false statement.
However, it fails to deliver a valid hypothesis, proffered and inferred in the contextfor scriptural discernment. The failure here to establish a logical and rhetorically sound rubric to judge the question of whether spirits [words] are from God or from false prophets and the spirit of antichrist is absent.
Namely, “has come” is such a wide-spread belief held to be historically true by all, it does not provide a sound standard to discern whether a spirit [spoken or written words] are from God or the spirit of Antichrist.
Almost anyone [or any spirit] can declare that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh. But as you can see, this does not resolve the issue of whether something should or should not be believed or followed. Why? Once again, because almost anyone can and often does confess that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh. This is an insufficient standard. The standard must be whether the confession that Jesus is here alone, gives an efficacious standard to discern truth from error.
Again, while it is true that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh, this alone is inadequate to discern truth from error. “Has come” does not mean the same thing as “is come [is here], from God, in the flesh” and therefore fails to be efficacious for true spiritual discernment as outlined in 1 John Chapter 4: 1-3.
Furthermore, as we compare Scripture with scripture in 1 John 4:1-3 and Ephesians 5:30-32
we comprehend God’s message regarding the body of Jesus Christ being in the Flesh vis-à-vis The Body of Christ, The Corporate Church.
Compare 1 John 4:1-3 with Ephesians 5:30-32
1 John 4:1-3 Authorized (King James) Version
4 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3 and every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
Ephesians 5:30-32
Authorized (King James) Version
30 for we are members of his [Jesus Christ’s] body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32 This is a great mystery:
but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
[So, we are members of His body, flesh and bone, [we are] one flesh with Him, The Body of Christ is (In the flesh); and is the incarnate Body of believers].
He was born of a virgin 2024 years ago and He lives today.
He’s coming again, for His bride; the Church [Blood-bought, Born-again members of His body].
When a believer considers that they are members of the body of Christ [The Church] , they should acknowledge and readily confess that…
“Jesus Christ is here, from God, in the flesh,” because We are the Body of Christ; The Church, in the flesh! Amen.

SPECIAL SPURGEON SERMON: “Why Men Cannot Believe in Christ” [Christ Jesus]
Note: This Sermon was referenced in the Men’s Bible Study on Wednesday, August 14th 2024 at South Shores Church and is featured here as an unabridged Audio recording of Sermon
# 1245 preached originally by Charles Spurgeon in 1875 from his home church, The Metropolitan Tabernacle, London.
FEATURED SERMON from Spurgeon’s Metropolitan Tabernacle (London)
How [Jesus] Christ Builds Our Faith John 14:1-14 with Dr. Peter Masters, Pastor
The day before Calvary, with the disciples, Christ gives a fourfold remedy for their deficiencies. They must grasp the necessity of faith, the heavenly objective, His pivotal atonement, and His equality with the Father. Only then can they fulfil their commission.

TODAY’S DEVOTION: written and calendared by Charles Haddon Spurgeon
SING: Revive Us Again with The Gaithers
All our help must come from Thee. Give back to the church its love, its confidence, its holy daring, its consecration, its liberality [generosity], its holiness. Give back all it ever had and give it much more. Take every member and wash his feet, Sweet Lord, most tenderly, and set us with clean feet in a clean road, with a clean heart to guide them [us], and do Thou [Lord] bless us as Thou art wont to do [in the custom of doing] after a divine fashion. Bless us, our Father, and let all the churches of Jesus Christ partake of [share in] like cause and tenderness. Walking among the golden candlesticks [present day churches] trim [adjust] every lamp and make every light, even though it burneth [burns] but feebly now, to shine out gloriously through Thy care.
Now bless the sinners. Lord, convert them. O God, save men, save this great city, this wicked city, this slumbering dead city. Lord, arouse it, arouse it by any means, that it may turn unto its God. Lord, save sinners all the world over, and let Thy precious Word be fulfilled. “Behold He cometh with clouds.” Why dost Thou tarry? Make no tarrying, O, our Lord. And now unto Father, Son, and Holy Ghost be glory for ever and ever. [In the name of the Lord Jesus] Amen. (Attachment: PRAYER 6.doc)
PRAYER 7, Part 1 of 7 September 3rd
LET ALL THE PEOPLE PRAISE THEE.
OUR Father, when we read Thy description of human nature we are sure it is true, for Thou has [have] seen man ever since his fall [Adam’s original sin], and Thou hast [You have] been grieved at heart concerning him. Moreover, Thou hast [You have] such a love towards him that Thou didst not [You did not] judge him harshly; and every word that Thou hast [You have] spoken must be according to truth. Thou hast [have] measured and computed the iniquity of man, for Thou hast laid it on the Well-Beloved [Lord Jesus] ; and we know Thou hast not [You have not] laid upon Him more than is meet [more than justice required]. [In the name of the Lord Jesus] Amen.
PRAYER 7, Part 2 of 7 September 3rd
LET ALL THE PEOPLE PRAISE THEE.
O God, we are distressed, we are bowed down greatly when we see what is the condition to which we and all our race [humanity] have fallen. “Where is boasting then?” And yet we grieve [are sad] to say that we do boast, and have boasted; and that our fellow-men are great at boasting; whereas they ought rather to lay their hands upon their mouths before Thee.
It has become a wonder to us that Thou shouldst [should] look upon man at all; the most hateful object in creation must be a man, because he slew [killed] Thy Son, because he has multiplied rebellions against a just and holy law. And yet truly there is no sight that gives Thee [You] more pleasure than man, for Jesus was a man; and the brightness of His glory covers all our shame; and the pureness and perfectness [perfection] of His obedience shines like the sun in the midst of the thick darkness. For His sake Thou art [are] well pleased, and Thou dost dwell [You do live] with us.
Lord, we once thought that those descriptions of our heart were somewhat strained [exaggerated] but we don’t think so now, for verily we perceive that had it not been for restraint which held us like fetters [leg-irons] we, in our unregenerate state, were capable of anything; for, even now, when we are regenerate, the old sin that abideth [abides] in us is capable of reaching to a high degree of infamy; and did not the new life restrain [if the new life didn’t restrain us from] the old death, we know not [we don’t know]what we might yet become [of us]. We thought once we were humble; but we soon found that our pride will feed on any current [contemporary] flattery that is laid at our door.
We thought we were believers, but sometimes we are so doubting, so unbelieving, so vexed with skepticism that we should not certainly choose to follow what is Thy work in us.
By nature we are such liars that we think Thee a liar too; the surest token of our untruthfulness, [is] that we think that Thou canst [can] be untrue.
[I pray in the name of the Lord Jesus that You will enliven a righteous heart in me, O Lord, Amen.]

Anecdote 34: September 3rd Christ in the Dying Hour.
There is a young girl in heaven now, once a member of this church. I went with one of my beloved deacons to see her when she was very near her departure. She was in the last stage of consumption [Tuberculosis] . Fair and sweetly beautiful she looked, and I think I never heard such syllables as those which fell from that girl’s lips. She had had disappointments, and trials, and troubles, but all these [afflictions] she had not a word to say about, except that she blessed God for them; they had brought her nearer to the Savior. And when we asked her whether she was not afraid of dying,
“No,” she said, “the only thing I fear is this, I am afraid of living, lest [for fear that] my patience should [might] wear out. I have not said an impatient word yet, sir; I hope I shall not. It is sad to be so very weak, but I think if I had my choice, I would rather be here than be in health, for it is very precious to me;
I know that my Redeemer liveth, [Solo from Handel’s Messiah] and I am waiting for the moment when he shall send his chariot of fire to take me up to him.” I put [asked] the question,
“Have you not any doubts ?”
“No, none, sir; why should I? I clasp my arms around the neck of Christ.”
“And have not you any fear about your sins?” “No, sir, they are all forgiven; I trust the Savior’s precious blood.”
“And do you think that you will be as brave as this when you come actually to die?”
“Not unless he leaves me, sir, but he will never leave me, for he has said,
‘I will never leave thee nor forsake thee’ ”.

FAITH’S CHECKBOOK September 3rd C.H. Spurgeon 1834—1892
OUT OF SPIRITUAL DEATH
“And ye shall know that I am the Lord, when I have opened your graves,
O my people, and brought you up out of your graves” —Ezekiel 37:13
“Y sabréis que yo soy Jehová, cuando abriere vuestros sepulcros, y os sacaré de vuestras sepulturas, pueblo mío.” Ezequiel 37:13
Indeed it must be so: those who receive life from the dead are sure to recognize the hand of the Lord in such a resurrection. This is the greatest and most remarkable of all changes that a man can undergo —to be brought out of the grave of spiritual death, and [be] made to rejoice in the light and liberty of spiritual life. None could work this but the living God, the Lord and giver of life.
Ah me! how well do I remember when I was lying in the valley full of dry bones, as dry as any of them! Blessed was the day when free and sovereign grace sent the man of God to prophesy upon me!
[“Dry bones, Live!”]
Glory be to God for the stirring which that word of faith caused among the dry bones. More blessed still was that heavenly breath from the four winds which made me live!
Now know I the quickening Spirit of the ever-living Jehovah. Truly Jehovah is the living God, for He made me live.
My new life even in its pining [longing] and sorrowing is clear proof to me that the Lord can kill and make alive. He is the only God. He is all that is great, gracious, and glorious, and my quickened [enlivened] soul adores Him as the great I AM. All glory be unto His sacred name!
As long as I live I will praise Him.
Prayer: Thank You Father, that we shall know that You are the Lord, when You have opened and brought us up out of our graves.
- Help me to always to be assured and comforted in You Lord Jesus in Your name I pray, Amen.

… and pray for the saving of souls and strengthening of believers.
The Lord … is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
2 Peter 3:9
Pray also that believers will be taught God’s eternal Word by the Holy Spirit. His WORD is protected and preserved by God, Himself.
MORNING September 3rd "Thou whom my soul loveth. "—Song of Solomon 1:7
— Tú, á quien ama mi alma— Cantar de los Cantares de Cantares 1:7
IT is well to be able, without any "if" or "but," to say of the Lord Jesus—
"Thou whom my soul loveth."
Many can only say of Jesus that they hope they love Him; they trust they love Him; but only a poor and shallow experience will be content to stay there.
No one ought to give any rest to his spirit till he feels quite sure about a matter of such vital importance. We ought not to be satisfied with a superficial hope that Jesus loves us, and with a bare trust that we love Him.
The old saints did not generally speak with "buts," and "ifs," and "hopes”, [“hope-sos”] and "trusts," but they spoke positively and plainly.
"I know whom I have believed," says Paul.
"I know that my Redeemer liveth," says Job.
Get positive knowledge of your love of Jesus, and do not be satisfied until you can speak of your interest in Him as a reality that you have made sure by having received the witness of the Holy Spirit and His seal on your soul by faith.
True love to [Jesus] Christ is in every case the Holy Spirit's work, and must be wrought [done] in the heart by Him. He is the efficient cause of it; but
the logical reason why we love Jesus lies in Himself.
Why do we love Jesus? Because He first loved us.
Why do we love Jesus? Because He “gave Himself for us.”
We have life through His death; we have peace through His blood.
Though He was rich, yet for our sakes He became poor.
Why do we love Jesus? Because of the excellency of His person. We are filled with a sense of His beauty, an admiration of His charms, and a consciousness of His infinite perfection! His greatness, goodness, and loveliness, in one resplendent ray, combine to enchant the soul till it is so ravished that it exclaims,
"Yea [Yes], He is altogether lovely."
Blessed love this—a love which binds the heart with chains more soft [softer] than silk, and yet more firm than diamond!

EVENING September 3rd
"The Lord trieth the righteous. " —Psalm 11:5
—Jehová prueba al justo —Salmos 11:5
ALL events are under the control of Providence; consequently, all the trials of our outward life are traceable at once to the great First Cause [Almighty God].
Out of the golden gate of God's ordinance the armies of trial march forth in array [military formation], clad in their iron armor and armed with weapons of war.
All providences are doors to trial. Even our mercies, like roses, have their thorns. Men may be drowned in seas of prosperity as well as in rivers of affliction. Our mountains are not too high, and our valleys are not too low for temptations: trials lurk on all roads.
Everywhere, above and beneath, we are beset and surrounded with dangers.
Yet no shower falls unpermitted from the threatening cloud; every drop has its order before it hastens to the earth. The trials that come from God are sent to prove and strengthen our graces, and so at once to illustrate the power of divine grace, to test the genuineness of our virtues, and to add to their energy.
Our Lord in His infinite wisdom and superabundant love, sets so high a value on His people's faith that He will not screen them from those trials by which faith is strengthened.
You would never have possessed the precious faith that now supports you without the fiery trial of your faith.
You are a tree that never would have rooted so well if the wind had not rocked you to and fro, and made you take firm hold on the precious truths of the covenant of grace.
Worldly ease is a great foe [enemy] to faith; it loosens the joints of holy valor [bravery] and snaps the sinews of sacred courage. The balloon never rises until the cords [that hold it] are cut;
affliction does this sharp service for believing souls.
While the wheat sleeps comfortably in the husk it is useless to man; it must be threshed [separated] out of its resting place before its value can be known.
Thus, it is well that Jehovah tries the righteous, for it causes them to grow rich toward God.
