Rejoice In The LORD Always  tap to sing along, won’t you?  Philippians 4:4
WE thank the  LORD for the website dailyspurgeon.com   that proclaims Jesus as the promised Messiah and provides scriptural content to support the making of fully devoted disciples who follow the Word of God; The Lord Jesus Christ.
This Internet ministry was begun by  e-mails of  Spurgeon’s  Faith’s Checkbook,  being sent to Jon Edward Riley (1971- 2021). A mailing list began to grow as others learned about it and asked to be included. This mailing list grew and led to the establishment of a website to present the Good News of Jesus Christ, and to deliver Biblical content to support God’s work in Local Churches in making fully devoted followers of the Lord Jesus Christ. To this end and by means of this website, we publish content from Charles Haddon Spurgeon. (1834 – 1892) known as The Prince of Preachers.
This foundational ministry, established  by GOD  through C.H. Spurgeon, continues through  the  Metropolitan Tabernacle today. (Brief History) a church begun in 1650. The church building was constructed by members of the congregation in 1861 and continues to preach God’s Word.

10 Things You Should Know about Charles Spurgeon
February 19, 2018  by: Michael Reeves
1. His ministry began in the year of his conversion as a young man.
Spurgeon was raised in a Christian home, but was converted in 1850 at fifteen years old. Caught in a snowstorm, he took refuge in a small Primitive Methodist chapel in Colchester. After about ten minutes, with only twelve to fifteen people present, the preacher fixed his eyes on Spurgeon and spoke to him directly:
“Young man, you look very miserable.” Then, lifting up his hands, he shouted, “Young man, look to Jesus Christ. Look! Look! Look! You have nothin’ to do but to look and live.”
Spurgeon later wrote, ‘Oh! I looked until I could almost have looked my eyes away.’ 1
The ‘Prince of Preachers’ was tricked into preaching his first sermon that same year. An older man had asked Spurgeon to go to the little village of Teversham the next evening, “for a young man was to preach there who was not much used to services, and very likely would be glad of company.” It was only the next day that he realized the ‘young man’ was himself.2
2. He was a man of hard work and huge influence.
He went on to preach in person up to thirteen times per week, gathered the largest church of his day, and could make himself heard in a crowd of twenty-three thousand people (without amplification). In print he published some eighteen million words, selling over fifty-six million copies of his sermons in nearly forty languages in his own lifetime.
3. He was self-consciously a theological and doctrinal preacher.
While Spurgeon is not known as a theologian as such, he was nevertheless a deeply theological thinker and his sermons were rich in doctrine, and dripping with knowledge of historical theology – especially that of the Puritans.
Some preachers seem to be afraid lest [for fear that] their sermons should be too rich in doctrine, and so injure the spiritual digestion of their hearers. This fear is superfluous. . . This is not a theological age, and therefore it rails at sound doctrinal teaching, on the principle that ignorance despises wisdom. The glorious giants of the Puritan age fed on something better than sermons of whipped creams and pastries which are now so much in vogue.3
4. He was pre-eminently a theologian and preacher of the cross.
Spurgeon’s was a cross-centered and cross-shaped theology, for the cross was “the hour” of Christ’s glorification (John 12:23–24), the place where Christ was and is exalted, the only message able to overturn the hearts of men and women otherwise enslaved to sin. Along with (Isaiah 45:22), one of Spurgeon’s favorite Bible verses was (John 12:32) : “And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.”
He insisted on celebrating the Lord’s Supper every Sunday, and often broke bread during the week as well. He believed his preaching of the crucified Christ was the only reason why such great crowds were drawn to his church for so many years.
Who can resist his charms? One look of his eyes overpowers us. See with your heart those eyes when they are full of tears for perishing sinners, and you are a willing subject. One look at his blessed person subjected to scourging and spitting for our sakes will give us more idea of his crown rights than anything besides. Look into his pierced heart as it pours out its life-flood for us, and all disputes about his sovereignty are ended in our hearts. We own him Lord because we see how he loved.4
Regeneration, he saw, is a work of pure grace—and those the Lord regenerates, he will indwell.
5. He aimed his ministry and preaching at the new birth.
Regeneration was one of the “three Rs” (ruin, redemption, and regeneration) Spurgeon always sought to preach. And regeneration was something he always expected to see as he preached the gospel. A friend of his once came to him, depressed because for three months of ministry he had not seen a single conversion. Spurgeon slyly asked, “Do you expect the Lord to save souls every time you open your mouth?” Embarrassed, the man answered “Oh, no, sir!”
“Then,” Spurgeon replied, “that is just the reason why you have not had conversions:
‘According to your faith be it unto you.’ ” 5  Matthew 9:29
Regeneration, he saw, is a work of pure grace—and those the Lord regenerates, he will indwell. And “with such an indweller we need not fear, but that this poor heart of ours will yet become perfect as God is perfect; and our nature through his indwelling shall rise into complete meetness for the inheritance of the saints in light.”6
6. He knew how to enjoy life.
Spurgeon loved life and saw the creation as a blessing from God to be enjoyed. For tired ministers, he recommended:
A day’s breathing of fresh air upon the hills, or a few hours’ ramble in the beech woods’ umbrageous calm,’ which ‘would sweep the cobwebs out of the brain of scores of our toiling ministers who are now but half alive. A mouthful of sea air, or a stiff walk in the wind’s face, would not give grace to the soul, but it would yield oxygen to the body, which is next best.’7
He couldn’t resist walking outside in thunderstorms (‘I like to hear my Heavenly Father’s voice in the thunder’), he is known for his cigar smoking, and he had a keen interest in botany. Like us all, Spurgeon was uniquely himself. Yet his big-heartedness and joy as he walked through his Father’s creation displays exactly the sort of life that will always grow from sound theology.
This introduction to Spurgeon’s life and ministry—organized around themes such as the centrality of Christ and the empowerment of the Spirit—will encourage readers to live for God's glory.
7. He was a mischievous, funny man.
'What a bubbling fountain of humor  Mr. Spurgeon had!’ wrote his friend William Williams. ‘I have laughed more, I verily believe, when in his company than during all the rest of my life besides.’8A whole chapter of Spurgeon’s ‘autobiography’ is entitled ‘Pure Fun,’ and he regularly surprised people who expected the zealous pastor to be dour and intense. Grandiosity, religiosity, and humbug could all expect to be pricked by his wit.
8. He was serious about joy.
Spurgeon’s humor and jollity [joviality] were not trivial or frivolous. For him, joy was a theological matter and a manifestation of that happiness and cheer which is found in Christ alone. He refused to take himself—or any other sinner—too seriously, believing that to be alive in Christ means to fight not only the habits and acts of sin but also sin’s temperamental sullenness, ingratitude, bitterness, and despair.
Christ wishes his people to be happy. When they are perfect, as he will make them in due time, they shall also be perfectly happy. As heaven is the place of pure holiness, so is it the place of unalloyed happiness; and in proportion as we get ready for heaven, we shall have some of the joy which belongs to heaven, and it is our Saviour’s will that even now his joy should remain in us, and that our joy should be full.9
9. He suffered with depression.
Spurgeon was full of life and joy, but also suffered deeply with depression as a result of personal tragedies, illness, and stress. Today he would almost certainly be diagnosed as clinically depressed and treated with medication and therapy. His wife, Susannah, wrote, “My beloved’s anguish was so deep and violent, that reason seemed to totter in her throne, and we sometimes feared that he would never preach again.”10
Spurgeon believed that Christian ministers should expect a special degree of suffering to be given  them as a way of forming them for Christlike, compassionate ministry. Christ himself was tempted in all points like as we are yet without sin. (Heb. 4:15)  (Heb. 2:16–18). It is weak and suffering people that God sometimes uses to minister to the weak and suffering.
10. He was emphatically Christ-centered.
Spurgeon saw theology much like astronomy: as the solar system makes sense only when the sun is central, so systems of theological thought are coherent only when Christ is central. Every doctrine must find its place and meaning in its proper relation to Christ. “Be assured that we cannot be right in the rest, unless we think rightly of HIM. . . . Where is Christ in your theological system?”11
Spurgeon’s view of the Bible, his Calvinism, and his view of the Christian life are all deeply Christocentric–and even that astronomical analogy may be too weak to capture quite how Christ-centered Spurgeon was in his thinking.
For him, Christ is not merely one component—however pivotal—in the bigger machinery of the gospel. Christ himself is the truth we know, the object and reward of our faith, and the light that illumines every part of a true theological system. He wrote, ‘He himself is Doctor and Doctrine, Revealer and Revelation, the Illuminator and the Light of Men. He is exalted in every word of truth, because he is its sum and substance. He sits above the gospel, like a prince on his own throne. Doctrine is most precious when we see it distilling from his lips and embodied in his person. Sermons are valuable in proportion as they speak of him and point to him.’12

Is the dailyspurgeon.com  website trustworthy ?
Is it true?     Is it of God?
Here’s how it must be verified:
1 John 4:1-3  Beloved ones, don’t be believing every spirit [voice] you hear but be testing the spirits [voices] whether they are of God: because many false prophets have gone out into the world. Here’s how you know the Spirit [voice]  of God: Every spirit [voice] that confesses that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh, having come from God, is of God:  and every spirit that confesses not that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit [voice] of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
Therefore, we should [must] test every voice [spirit] whether it is from God, bonified and trustworthy to be believed only if it i confesses [says]  that…
“Jesus Christ is here, from God, in the flesh.”
[All English translations of the Bible except the King James Version  erroneously translate various Greek texts into English as  “Has come” .
Such translations ignore the original Greek word “ictin”  [is] that is present in the Majority Texts MT and  subsequently in the Textus Recptus [Received Text] therefore failing to correctly translate  the verb  as, “Is come” [Is here].  (KJV)
This  error is made  because no modern Greek text follows the  MT [Majority Texts] or the TR  [Textus Receptus] and have ignored the Greek verb “is”, (3rd person, present tense.) The error of this omission show itself in legal jargon as res ipsa loquitur [It speaks for itself]  because non-believers and false prophets can, and sometimes do,  affirm that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh.
This is not surprising nor is it, per se, a false statement. This, because the  birth of Jesus Christ is the most well documented fact in history.  Indeed, Jesus Christ has indeed come in the flesh.
Translating this as ‘has come’ rather than  “is”,  is not, on the surface a false statement. Nor is it the salient issue. However, the failure to establish a logical and rhetorically sound rubric to addresses the question as to whether the words are from God or antichrist is glaring. Namely, it does not provide the  method for actual discernment of whether a spirit [spoken or written words]  can be concluded as to whether they are from God or from the antichrist. Virtually anyone may avow that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh. A desired, efficacious method of discernment could  not therefore with this faulty translation be made .
Again, while it is  true that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh, this alone is inadequate to discern truth from error. “Has come” may not be made in lieu of  “is come [is here],  from God, in the flesh”.
Furthermore, by comparing  scripture with scripture we can more fully comprehend  God’s message of discernment:
1 John 4:1-3 with Ephesians 5:30-32
30 for we are members of his [Jesus Christ’s]  body,  of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32 This is a great mystery:
but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
[So, we are members of His body, flesh and bone, [we are] one flesh with Him,  The Body of Christ (In the flesh), the Church].________________________________________

"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:
God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit,
believed on in the world, received up into glory."

INVITATION
You are invited to repent, trust in  and confess publicly the Lord Jesus Christ as your savior and Lord.
This website can not replace the in-person gatherings with other believers to worship, hear face-to-face Gospel preaching, enjoy fellowship, and join together in prayer, study of God’s Word in the  presence and fellowship in the Lord Jesus.
Rather, it is a resource to develop a deeper relationship with the Lord Jesus through personal devotion, praise and worship and to be built-up and strengthened in the Lord through God’s Holy Word.

“Study to show yourself approved unto God, a worker that needs not be ashamed, rightly dividing [analyzing  and sharing] the word of truth.”
   2 Timothy 2:15

We are grateful to  the Lord for providing dailyspurgeon.com  a website to support devotional vigor and  to expand, with God’s help, the e-mail ministry that was begun with my beloved son, Jon Edward Riley 1971-2021.  He is honored here as we honor those to whom honor is due; Jon often testified to anyone who would listen. Sometimes to ones who may not have wanted to.
“ I’m a blood bought, born-again child of God.”
We Desire to Worship God in Spirit and in truth:
• Pray with our heavenly Father, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; 1 Thessalonians 5:17
• Hear and obey the eternal, inspired, immutable, inerrant, infallible, revealed and protected Word of God, revealed through Jesus Christ, the living Word; 1 Peter 1:23
• Be [Be being] filled with the Spirit; speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Ephesians 5:18-19
•Gathering in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

As Jon remembered veterans, we remember him: Jon Edward Riley (1971-2021) who would, on occasion, just bust-out singing the following songs; sometimes, on the way to church sometimes just singing along with the Elvis Gospel CD that was always kept in the truck’s CD player or,
even better, a song the Lord would spontaneously put in his joyful and loving heart.

…Jon always said “Later”; [see-ya-later] instead of “good bye”. It was his unique way to bid farewell … He would never say “good-bye”. Now,  remembering the sound of his voice saying “Later”, it rings true with a  new and deeper meaning and it brings a joyfulness and comfort to the hearts of those he loved so well; those who love him still, and always will.
… we are reminded of the promise of the Hymn:

Long before the Conservative Resurgence, Dr. R.G. Lee was the Southern Baptist champion of biblical infallibility and inerrancy. In his sermon, “The Word of God – Not Broken and Not Bound,” published in 1930, in which Dr. Lee proclaimed the following regarding the HOLY BIBLE: (KJV)
“All [Prophets and Apostles] who wrote are immortalized by their writing of this great Book, supernatural in origin, divine in authorship, human in penmanship, infallible in authority, infinite in scope, universal in interest, personal in application, regenerative in power, inspired [God breathed] in totality.”
Dr. R.G. Lee preached the inspired Gospel sermon,   Payday Someday over 1,200 times.

Why Resist Almighty God?
Job 21.14
Human life is viewed here as a message sent to God, demanding that He gets out of our way, because we have no interest in Him. Here is what lies behind our hostility, what we lose by it, and the way to acceptance by Him.

Attacks On The Soul
1 Peter 2.11
With words only meaningful to believers, the apostle warns of the deniers of the 'lower', fallen nature residual in them. Here are the core fleshly lusts and how they may be launched at believers, the need of vigilance and the remedies for their defeat.

(Christian’s wife, Christiana and children; their dangerous journey, and safe arrival at the desired country.)

Pilgrim Progress is the world’s most famous Allegory, It was commonly the only book found in the cabin of early American Settlers and was  loved and  read more than any book, second only to the Holy Bible.  It’s  also considered, by some, as being the world’s first English novel. It’s likely the most published book other than the Bible of all time. There were 1,300 editions printed before 1938, 250 years after the Bunyan’s death. Hence, the world’s most famous Allegory.

Comment on Pilgrim’s Progress by Charles H. Spurgeon from the Spurgeon Sermon
“Christ in You”.
Spurgeon:  Christ in us is Christ reigning." reminds me of Mr. Bunyan’s picture of [the town of] Mansoul, …when the Prince Immanuel laid siege to it, and Diabolus from within the city strove to keep him out. It was a, hard time for Mansoul then; but when at last the battering rams had broken down the gates, and the silver trumpets sounded, and the prince’s captains entered the breach, then on a day the prince himself did ride down the city’s streets, while liberated citizens welcomed him with all their hearts, hung out all their streamers, and made the church towers rock again as the bells rang out merry peals [melodies] , for the king himself was come. Up to the castle of the heart [main castle]  he rode in triumph, and took his royal throne to be henceforth the sole lord and king of the city.
Christ in you is a right royal word. Christ swaying his scepter from the center of your being over every power and faculty, desire and resolve, bringing every thought into captivity to himself, oh, this is glory begun, and the sure pledge of heaven. Oh, for more of the imperial sovereignty of Jesus, The Messiah;  our liberty to be absolutely under his sway.
Spurgeon Sermon: Christ in You, Preached May 13, 1883 Scripture: Colossians 1:27  From: Metropolitan Tabernacle Pulpit, Volume 29   (cit. II. THE SWEETNESS OF THIS MYSTERY, WHICH IS CHRIST IN YOU, § 5)
You may choose to read, listen or share Pilgrim’s Progress as a bed time story with your little ones.   It will bless, strengthen, encourage and instruct pilgrims of all ages and will create precious and enduring memories in little ears.
Spurgeon read it for the first time as a five year old boy and would returned to read it over 100 times during his remarkable ministry as a Baptist minister who is known as The Prince of Preachers .

The author, John Bunyan, holds to God’s View from  the God inspired [God breathed] Holy Bible from God Himself; not diminished or added to by any human  effort to create, define or describe in any way a better or alternative  “World View”.

SELECTIONS:
PRAYER 6. Part 5 of 5   THE WONDERS CALVARY [THE CRUCIFIXION]
Lord, visit our church. We have heard Thy message to the churches at Ephesus; it is a message to us also. Oh! do not let any of us lose our first love. Let not our church grow cold and dead. We are not, we fear, what once we were. Lord, revive us!
All our help must come from Thee.
Give back to the church its love, its confidence, its holy daring, its consecration, its liberality [generosity], its holiness. Give back all it ever had and give it much more. Take every member and wash his feet, Sweet Lord, most tenderly, and set us with clean feet in a clean road, with a clean heart to guide them, and do [Lord] bless us as Thou art wont [accustomed] to do after a divine fashion.
Bless us, our Father, and let all the churches of Jesus Christ partake [share] of like cause and tenderness. Walking among the golden candlesticks [today’s churches] [fine-tune] every lamp and make every light, even though it burneth [burns] but feebly now, to shine out gloriously  through Thy care.
Now, bless the sinners. Lord, convert [save] them. O God, save men, save this great city, this wicked city, this slumbering dead city. Lord, arouse it, arouse it by any means, that it may turn unto its God. Lord, save sinners all the world over, and let Thy precious Word be fulfilled.
“Behold He cometh with clouds.”
Why dost Thou [do You] tarry? Make no tarrying, O, our Lord. And now unto Father, Son, and Holy Ghost be glory for ever and ever. [In the name of the Lord Jesus] Amen.

ANECDOTE 183: Faith and Joy.
“Is it not surprising,” said one, “that God should have heard my prayers, and have been so gracious to me in providence ?”
“No,” said an old saint, whose long experience had taught her more of the Lord,
“It does not surprise me, it is just like him, it is his way with his people.”
Oh, to feel that great mercy is [just] like him; that it is what we should expect of God, that he should give great deliverances, should walk the waters of our griefs, and bid them cease their raging!
It is a blessed faith which enables us to recognize Jesus on the waters, and to say,
“I know it is Jesus, nobody but Jesus could act so wondrously; I might not have known him if I had seen him working in an ordinary way, or traveling like a common wayfarer, but here amidst extra-ordinary seasons I expected his help; if I never had seen him before, I expected to see him now; and now [that] I do see him I am not amazed,
though I am delighted.
I looked for him, and I knew that when the need of him was greatest, his coming would be sure.”
When faith brightens the eye of hope with the flash of expectation, joy is not far away.

FAITH’S CHECKBOOK FEBRUARY 1 NEVER DESPAIR  by C.H. Spurgeon 1834—1892
-But unto you that fear my name, shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings —Malachi 4:2
Mas a vosotros los que temeis mi nombre, nacerá el Sol de justicia, y en sus alas traerá salud- Malaquias 4:2
Fulfilled once in the first advent [the first coming] of our glorious Lord [Jesus], and yet to have a fuller accomplishment in His second advent [second coming], this gracious word is also for daily use.
Is it dark with the reader? Does the night deepen into a denser blackness? Still let us not despair: the sun will yet [surely] rise. When the night is darkest, dawn is nearest.
The sun which will arise is of no common sort. It is THE sun —
the Sun of Righteousness, whose every ray is holiness.
He who comes to cheer us, comes in the way of justice as well as of mercy, comes to violate no law even to save us.
Jesus displays the holiness of God just as much as His love.
Our deliverance, when it comes, will be safe because [it is] righteous.
Our one point of inquiry should be
-Do we fear the name of the Lord?
Do we reverence the living God, and walk in His ways?-
Then for us the night must be short; and when the morning cometh [comes], all the sickness and sorrow of our soul will be over forever.
Light, warmth, joy, and clearness of vision will come, and healing of every disease and distress will follow after. Has Jesus risen [as the sunrise] upon us? Let us sit in the sun. Has He hidden His face?
Let us wait for His rising. He will shine forth as surely as the sun.
Prayer: Thank you, Lord Jesus, that You continuously arise with healing in Your wings to those that fear Your name. You are the *only, truly authentic and AWESOME One, Lord Jesus, Amen.
*[In whom dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead (Trinity, three-in-one) bodily.]
Colossians 2:9

This Translation is from  the Textus Receptus (TR)  [Received Text] and is an example of the overwhelming majority of extant Greek texts MT that is in substantial agreement in their text itself and avoids inferior, ambiguous and missing primary source texts of the variant  codices Alexandrinus, Sinaiticus and Vaticanus. There is substantial disagreement and missing texts among these codices which do not agree with one another,  are created from incomplete codices and introduce modern biblical criticism theory that embraces ambiguities, uncertainties and variant readings [interpretations]. These are found in a multitude of new English translations and contain doctrinal compromises that nuance-away or otherwise diminish  the highest glory due to God Almighty.  The TR is the original primary New Testament Greek source of the Authorized King James Translation. It’s the ONLY ENGLISH translation that comes directly from the time tested and superior Textus Receptus.

MORNING February 1
"They shall sing in the ways of the Lord”— Psalm 138:5
─Y cantarán de los caminos de Jehová─ Salmos 138:5
THE time when Christians begin to sing in the ways of the Lord is when they first lose their burden at the foot of the Cross. Not even the songs of the angels seem so sweet as the first song of rapture [unspeakable joy] that gushes from the inmost soul of the forgiven child of God.
You know how John Bunyan [Author of Pilgrim’s Progress, written in a Bedford, England jail– [that became the world’s most famous allegory] describes it.
When poor Pilgrim lost his burden at the Cross, he gave three great leaps, and went on his way singing:
Blest [blessed] Cross! blest [blessed] Sepulchre [grave]!
Blest [blessed] rather be,
The Man that there was put to shame for me!
Believer, do you recollect [recall]  the day when your fetters [shackles] fell off? Do you remember the place when Jesus met you and said,
"I have loved thee with an everlasting love; I have blotted out as a cloud thy transgressions, and as a thick cloud thy [your] sins; they shall not be mentioned against thee [you] any more forever."
Oh, what a sweet season that is when Jesus takes away the pain of sin. When the Lord first pardoned my sin, I was so joyous that I could scarcely refrain [keep] from dancing. On my road home from the house where I had been set at liberty [saved], I thought that I must tell the stones in the street the story of my deliverance. My soul was so full of joy, that I wanted to tell every snow-flake that was falling from heaven of the wondrous love of Jesus, who had blotted out the sins of one of the chief [ring leaders] of rebels. But it is not only at the commencement [beginning] of the Christian life that believers have reason for song; as long as they live, they discover cause to sing in the ways of the Lord, and their experience of his constant loving-kindness leads them to say,
"I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth."
See to it, brother [bretheren], that you magnify the Lord this day.
Long as we tread this desert land,
New mercies shall new songs demand.

EVENING February 1
“Thy love to me was wonderful.”— 2 Samuel 1:26
─Más maravilloso me fué tu amor ─ 2 Samuel 1:26
COME, dear readers, let each one of us speak for himself of the wonderful love, not of Jonathan, [David’s close friend] but of Jesus. We will not relate what we have been told, but the things which we have tasted and handled of the love of Christ. Thy love to me, O Jesus, was wonderful when I was a stranger wandering far from Thee, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind.
Thy love restrained me from committing the sin which is unto death, and withheld me from self-destruction. Thy love held back the axe when Justice said, “Cut it down! why cumbereth it [why should it clutter] the ground?” Thy love drew me into the wilderness, stripped me there, and made me feel the guilt of my sin, and the burden of mine iniquity [my sin].
Thy love spake [Your love spoke] thus comfortably [words of comfort] to me when I was sore [utterly] dismayed—
“Come unto me, and I will give thee [you] rest.”
Oh, how matchless Thy [Your] love when in a moment, Thou didst [You did] wash my sins away, and make my polluted soul, which was crimson [scarlet red] with the blood of my nativity [birth], and black with the grime of my transgressions [sins], to be white as the [wind] driven snow, and pure as the finest wool. [And Oh,] How Thou didst [You did] commend Thy [Your] love when Thou didst [You did] whisper in my ears,
“I am Thine [Yours] and Thou art [You are] mine.”
Kind [loving] were those accents [spoken words] when Thou sadist [You said],
“The Father Himself loveth [loves] you.”
And sweet the moments, passing [beyond] sweet, when thou declaredst [you declared] to me
“the love of the Spirit.”
Never shall my soul forget those chambers [places] of fellowship where Thou has [You have] unveiled [warmly revealed] Thyself to me.
Had Moses [Did Moses have] his cleft [crack] in the rock, where he saw the train [robe’s trailing part], the back parts of his God? We, too, have had our clefts in the rock, where we have seen the full splendors of the Godhead in the person of [Jesus] Christ.
Did David remember the tracks of the wild goat, the land of Jordan and the Hermonites?
We, too, can remember spots [moments in time] to memory dear [precious memories] , equal to these in blessedness.
Precious Lord Jesus, give us a fresh draught [drink] of Thy wondrous love to begin the month with. Amen.

A SINNER’S PRAYER:   … FOR WHOSOEVER: [One and all]
Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21
Call on the name of the Lord Jesus and be saved     … pray like this, won’t you?
“Lord Jesus, I’m a lost sinner and without You I am hopeless.  I can’t save myself. Without your death on the cross for my sin debt I would be condemned to spend eternity condemned to Hell. I have been  self-centered from birth.  Please forgive me.
I realize that doing my best, being as good as possible, or being better than other people can never save me. . I’m guilty and sorry for each and every sin I have done and look to You to forgive me of them all.
I look to You, alone  Lord Jesus to save me.
I call on You,  Lord Jesus, right now to save me.  You died on the cross for me, because of my sin  and You say,  “It shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21.
Right now, just as I am, I call on You, Lord Jesus to save me,  I trust You, to  be my Lord and Savior from now on.
Thank You, Lord Jesus, that You have forgiven me of all my sins.  I ask You to abide in me and give me the desire to always follow You.
You paid the price for all of my sins by dying on the cross.  Even the sins of the whole world.
Thank you,  Lord Jesus that You loved me and died for me even before I was born and that You still love me now. I love You too.
Thank you, Heavenly Father, that You have called me away from sin and death into the Life everlasting  in Your only begotten son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Thank You, Heavenly Father that you raised Jesus from the dead. He is ALIVE and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave. Romans  8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. [Holy Ghost, The Comforter, The Spirit of Truth]

Thank You for saving me heavenly Father. With all my heart, thank you Father for saving me in Jesus’ name,  Amen.

Allow us to share the joy of your new birth with heaven. Won’t you? Heaven rejoices over each redeemed sinner. Luke 15:7

MISSION STATEMENT:
Our aim is to fulfill God’s purpose in us to save souls, strengthen and encourage believers in the Word, proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ as we serve those in need. We believe the Bible is God’s revealed Word and that through His Word He guides us as individuals and as a local body of believers. We are resolved, God helping us, to study, meditate and pray to rightly divide God’s revealed and preserved Word holding it as the final authority in all things.
The purpose of The John Mark Publishing Company is to make known the Gospel of The Lord Jesus Christ to everyone. We desire to show the love of Jesus  to those in need, especially those in the household of faith. The Bible is God’s everlasting, inspired, (God breathed) inerrant, unchangeable, divinely protected and preserved  message of salvation to the whole world.  It is the essence of  the ministry  inspired here.
The  inspirational source of  preaching, teaching and writing  by Charles Haddon Spurgeon is from this same essence.  His writings continue to be  much read and much used today in the  support of Gospel preaching. Such ministry is still flourishing  in London at  the Metropolitan Tabernacle,  the church constructed for the 6,000 member congregation in the 1800's. Our effort here is to increase  the publication, circulation and use of Spurgeon's materials for the benefit of the church body as well as all other readers.  To this end we have arranged a daily Table of Contents and have added brief annotations [shown in brackets]  while maintaining a strict fidelity to the  original and unabridged text.

The Published Titles from Spurgeon that are included exclusively each day in the Devotion are:
·       C.H. Spurgeon Prayers
·       Spurgeon’s  Illustrative Anecdotes
·       Faith’s Checkbook
·       Morning & Evening
These titles are selected from the inspired body of work created from the preaching and writing of Charles Haddon Spurgeon 1834-1892. He created an excellent  legacy of gospel preaching and exposition and is known as the “Prince of Preachers”.  Spurgeon has been and is today widely read with great benefit from the 1800’s to this present time. He is the beloved founder of the Metropolitan Tabernacle in London, England (Still thriving TODAY through the faithful preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.)  [Click to live-stream current gospel preaching in real time each Sunday from London by Dr. Peter Masters, Metropolitan Tabernacle pastor since 1970.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, please bless Your disciples toward the winning of many souls, and help us to be loving and compassionate toward all who are in need, especially those in the household of faith. I pray this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and for His sake, Amen.
Disclaimer: The John Mark Publishing Company does not praise or exalt  Charles H. Spurgeon beyond the honor due him. He didn’t need or want it when he was on earth and would have no need or desire for it now. Our aim is to lift up and glorify the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and to preach HIM and Him crucified.
Precaution: These Messages and prayers alone will not substitute for continual fellowship with the Lord Jesus. Neither do they replace personal reading, meditation, prayer and fasting over God's divinely preserved and eternal Word. (The King James version (KJV), known also as the Authorized Version (AV), is the preferred English Bible because its accuracy and fidelity to the Greek Textus Receptus [received text] and the Hebrew Masoretic Text) avoid doctrinal and editorial weaknesses found in many contemporary editions.
Prayer Selection by Spurgeon must not be offered as a substitute for personal, intimate fervent, heart-felt, prayer. It  is intended rather, to warm the hearts of those who are in prayer seeking a season of authentic two-way, heart-to-heart  fellowship and prayer with the Father, His Son and the Holy Spirit. Read from the NT Book of Romans Chapter 8.

The above link is to search for specific words or Scripture references in the King James Bible  (KJV)  inerrant and infallible  English Bible because it is providentially protected and preserved by GOD Himself through the only translation into English by faithful brethren from the established majority text MT from which the Greek Textus Receptus [received text] manuscripts of the New Testament was taken  and the Hebrew Masoretic Text of the Old Testament (Jewish Tanakh).  These manuscripts are providentially protected, and frequently give greater glory to God when compared to variant readings of all modern translations from Modern Critical Texts based on inferior Greek manuscripts.
The established majority manuscripts avoid doctrinal error, inaccuracies in translation, uninspired editorial notations, variant or ambiguous readings taken from Codices Vaticanus, or Sinaiticus.
Copyright: The King James Version is also distinguished by the requirement of Great Brittan that all King James bibles be printed only by the Cambridge University Press, the Crown’s authorized printer. No one other than the Crown’s printer, is allowed print, copy or import the King James Bible into Great Brittan by order of the Crown.
In the United States there is no Copyright protection and it is deemed Public Domain. If a new publication changes at least a 10% of an existing  publication a lucrative Copyright can be granted.

In 1870, The Anglican Church of England passed a resolution to revise the English Bible. The New Testament revision committee which finally consisted of 25 scholars (though only about 16 eventually attended the meetings) which included Westcott and Hort. The committee worked for ten years in the Jerusalem chamber, and these two scholars swept the Revision Committee along with them after work commenced. In fact, the “Cambridge trio” (Westcott, Hort and Lightfoot) colluded with others to dominate the meetings with their views of the text and to defeat any who opposed them. Their *letters reveal this conspiracy:
* Letters from close relatives are quoted in the Inside Story above
The only voice defending the Textus Receptus was Dr Scrivener, probably the foremost scholar of the day in the manuscripts of the Greek New Testament and the history of the Text. But he was systematically outvoted by the Cambridge trio and outdone by Hort’s powerful debating skill. When the revision was completed, the revision committee had altered the Greek Text in 5,337 places,
thus violating the original rule that had been set for the committee of not altering the Greek Text unless absolutely necessary to do so.

CONCLUSION
In conclusion, let it be said that no matter how good any modern version of the New Testament is in other ways, it is clearly blemished if the work of Westcott and Hort is present in it. The presence of their work means that it is based on a defective text. Those who want to honor the Word of God must not promote the use of any of these versions by the church, not because the content of the version is evil in itself, but because the attitude of being contented to use a blemished version rather than an existing unblemished one, dishonors God. If God has taken the trouble to preserve for His people a good Greek text of the New Testament for 18 centuries, how dishonoring it would be to Him if His people now chose instead to change over to a version that is based on a defective text.
Let the biblical story of Nadab and Abihu be a lesson to all:
And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not. And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD. Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the LORD spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace. And Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said unto them, Come near, carry your brethren from before the sanctuary out of the camp. So they went near, and carried them in their coats out of the camp; as Moses had said. And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not your heads, neither rend your clothes; lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the people: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the LORD hath kindled” (Lev 10:1–6).
