All Bible versions NOT  translated from the Textus Receptus [The (traditional) Received Text] include variant  readings that diminish the full  glory and the most Holy reverence due to Almighty GOD, that He preserves and protects it immutably  in the 1769 Edition of the 1611 King James Version  KJV Bible. This version is also known as the Authorized King James  Version  AKJV and the  Authorized Version AV. ALL GLORY is due to and must be given to the Omnipotent Lord of ALL.

 

The Geneva Bible was also faithfully translated from the Greek Textus Receptus and included  commentaries from inspired, devoted,  faithful men of GOD; Puritan Believers beyond reproach. This Bible was first brought to Plymouth Massachusetts  in the American Colonies by the Puritan Pilgrims by Captain Christopher Jones’s on the Mayflower in 1620. A 1592 Edition of the Geneva Bible that belonged to Mayflower passenger and Governor of the Plymouth Colony (Later becoming  Massachusetts) William Bradford and is on display at the Pilgrim Hall Museum in Plymouth, Massachusetts, the oldest continuously operating public museum in the United States.

 

 Only the traditional Textus Receptus [Received Greek Text] was produced  from more than 5,321 original Majority Greek Manuscripts MT and agree 99% with one another. All other variant readings are translated from  either Westcott and Hort’s or Nestle and Aland’s, Greek Texts  fabricated from only a handful [45] of Majority Text Manuscripts MT and  lack the  trustworthiness of  the inspired 1769 [1611] King James Version, KJV and the Geneva Bibles. are the only two translations from the traditional, reliable, inspired, [GOD BREATHED] immutable  and providentially and divinely protected Textus Receptus.

Should  DAILYSPURGEON  be trusted? Is it trustworthy?

Is it of God?

Yes! Here’s why.

 

1 John 4:1-3

Beloved ones, don’t be believing every spirit [everyone or !everything] you hear but be testing the spirit [voice] whether it is of God: because many false prophets have gone [come] out into the world. Here’s how you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit [voice] that confesses [avows] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh, having come[who came] out of God, is of God: and every spirit that confesses not [doesn’t audibly avow] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

 I hereby confess, audibly,  that Jesus Christ is come   [is here] in the flesh.

 

[All translations of the Bible that use any Greek text other than the traditional and faithful Textus Receptus ignore the word “ictin” [the Greek word for “is” in English].  This omission causes the meaning of “is here” to  change from “is come” [is here] to “has come”.

 

This error is self-evident because non-believers, false prophets and heretics can, and frequently do, declare that Jesus Christ “has come” [in the flesh].

 

While this is a true statement, taken at face value, the  meaning  “has come” is clearly not the same as “is here” ; which is the valid, test to  discern between the Spirit of God and the spirit of antichrist.  

The most well documented fact in all of human history is that the Lord Jesus Christ [The Messiah]  “has come” in the flesh. However, the question of greater importance,  is not whether the spirit [of a word or from a person] being considered and tested confesses that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh but, whether the confession being made affirms that Jesus Christ, “is come” [is here], from God, in the flesh.

 

Ephesians 5:30-32

30 for we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

32 This is a great mystery: but I [The Apostle Paul]  speak concerning Christ and the church.  [The body of CHRIST]

Compare and consider scripture to scripture:  Precept upon precept, Line upon line.

 

“I speak concerning Christ and the church.” [the fleshly embodiment, here and now ,  of the body of Christ]. Because  followers of Jesus Christ are members of the incarnate Body of Christ [The Church]

Grant this to each one of us. We would each one pray, “Lord, sanctify me; make me obedient; write Thy law upon my heart and upon my mind.” Make our nature so clean that temptation cannot defile it. “Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the Evil One.” May our course be very clean, our path be very straight; may we keep our garments unspotted from the world; and in thought and desire and imagination, in will and in purpose, may we be holy as God is holy.

ANECDOTE 100: The Christian’s Victory. Victory! November 9th  

There is something beautiful in that word. The death of Sir John Moore, in the Peninsular [Iberian Peninsula] war, was very touching: he fell [was mortally wounded] in the arms of triumph; [great victory] and sad as was his fate, I doubt not that his eye was lit up with luster by the shout of victory.

So also, I suppose, that [James] Wolfe   spoke a truth, when he said, “ I die happy ” having just before heard the shout, “ they run, they run.” I know victory, even in that bad sense for I look not upon earthly victories as of any value must have cheered the warrior.

 

But, ah ! how cheered the saint, when he knows that victory is his! I shall fight during all my life, but I shall write “vici” [Latin: I conquered] on my shield. I shall be “ more than conqueror through him that loved me.” Each feeble saint shall win the day; each man upon his crutches; each lame one; each one full of infirmity, sorrow, sickness, and weakness, shall gain the victory.

 

“They shall come with singing into Zion; as well the blind, and lame, and halt, and the woman with child, together.”

 

So saith [says] the Scripture. Not one shall be left out ; but he shall “bring forth judgment unto victory.”

Victory! victory! victory! This is the lot of each Christian: he shall triumph through his dear Redeemer’s [Savior’s] name.

To be the Lords own people is a choice blessing, but to know that we are such, is a comfortable

[comforting] blessing. It is one thing to hope that God is with us, and another thing to know that He is so.

Faith saves us, but assurance satisfies us. We take God to be our God when we believe in Him; but we get the joy of Him when we know that He is ours, and that we are His.

 

No believer should be content with hoping and trusting, but should ask the Lord to lead him on to full assurance, so that matters of hope may become matters of certainty. It is when we enjoy covenant [Divinely promised] blessings, and see our Lord Jesus raised up for us as a plant of renown [a huge tree] , that we come to a clear knowledge of the favor of God toward us. Not by law, but by grace, do we learn that we are the Lord’s people. Let us always turn our eyes in the direction of free grace.

Assurance of faith can never come by the works of the law. It is an evangelical virtue, and can only reach us in a gospel way [through the good news of Jesus Christ]. Let us not look within [for assurance]. Let us look to the Lord alone. As we see Jesus, we shall see our salvation. Lord, send us such a flood-tide of thy love that we shall be washed beyond the mire [filth] of doubt and fear.

Prayer: Thank You Lord that You make me to KNOW that You are with me and give me full assurance that we [those who trust in You] are Your people. Thank You that by looking to you and by trusting in You we are saved. Please help me to trust and obey You in every circumstance. I pray this in the name of the Lord Jesus, Amen.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten [supernaturally fathered] Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

      vis. The Textus Receptus TR [Traditionally Received Greek Text] was faithfully translated from the overwhelming majority of extant Greek texts of the New Testament with 98% agreement and The Masoretic Hebrew text MT. Text that was meticulously copied by hand [manuscript] of the Old Testament Hebrew. The inferior and erroneous Sinaiticus and Vaticanus codices are often in disagreement with one another.

 

Never-the-less, these compromised codices are set forth as modern textual criticism to fuel the explosion of the plethora of new translations and  new editions.  Modern textual criticism is based on the false assumption that older manuscripts are, de facto, better. Actually, the unsettled debates, reflect doctrinal ambiguities or are used to bolster  unsupported secular or denominational biases that allow blasphemous  translations to spring up from faulty  Greek texts.  From these texts they would, were it possible, diminish God’s Sovereignty, Omnipotence, Omnipresence, Immutability, Inerrancy and Infallibility and rob Glory from the  infinite and everlasting “I AM” that is deserving of ALL GLORY.

MORNING November 9th  

 

"So, walk ye in Him. "—  Colossians 2:6

IF we have received Christ Himself in our inmost hearts, our new life will manifest [reveal] its intimate acquaintance with Him by a walk of faith in Him. Walking implies action. Our religion is not to be confined to our closet; we must carry out what we believe in practical effect. If a man walks in Christ, then he so acts as Christ would act; Christ in him is his hope, his love, his joy, his life; he is the reflex [reflection] of the image of Jesus. Men say of that man, "He is like his Master; he lives like Jesus Christ." Walking signifies progress. "So walk ye in Him." Proceed from grace to grace, run forward until you reach the uttermost degree of knowledge that a man can attain concerning our Beloved. Walking implies continuance. There must be a perpetual abiding in Christ. How many Christians think that in the morning and evening they ought to come into the company of Jesus and may then give their hearts to the world all the day: but this is poor living; we should always be with Him, treading in His steps and doing His will.

Walking also implies habit. When we speak of a man's walk and conversation we mean his habits, the constant tenor of his life. Now, if we sometimes enjoy Christ and then forget Him; sometimes call Him ours and at other times lose our hold, that is not a habit; we do not walk in Him. We must keep to Him, cling to Him, never let Him go, but live and have our being in Him. "As ye have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him." Persevere in the same way in which you have begun, and, as Christ Jesus was the trust of your faith, the source of your life, the principle of your action, and the joy of your spirit at first, so let Him be the same till life's end when you walk through the valley of the shadow of death and enter into the joy and the rest which remain for the people of God. 0 Holy Spirit, enable us to obey this heavenly precept [teaching].

EVENING November 9th  

"His place of defense shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure. "— Isaiah 33:16

Do you doubt, 0 Christian, do you doubt as to whether God will fulfill His promise? Shall the munitions [forts] of rock be carried [moved] by storm? Shall the storehouses of heaven fail? Do you think that your heavenly Father, although He knows that you have need of food and raiment [clothing] , will yet forget you [will forget about you] ?

When not a sparrow falls to the ground without your Father and the very hairs of your head are all numbered, will you mistrust and doubt Him? Perhaps your affliction will continue until you dare to trust your God, and then it shall end. There are many who have been tried and vexed till at last they have been driven in sheer desperation to exercise faith in God, and the moment of their faith has been the instant of their deliverance; they have seen whether God would keep His promise or not.

Oh, I pray you, doubt Him no longer! Please not [Don’t go along with] Satan, and vex not yourself by indulging any more those hard thoughts of God.

Think it not a light matter to doubt Jehovah. Remember, it is a sin; and not a little sin either, but criminal in the highest degree. The angels never doubt Him, nor the devils either: we alone, out of all the beings that God has fashioned, dishonor Him by unbelief, and tarnish His honor by mistrust.

Shame on us for this! Our God does not deserve to be so basely suspected; in our past life [days past] we have proved Him to 'be true and faithful to His word, and with as many instances of His love and of His kindness as we have received and are daily receiving at His hands, it is base and inexcusable that we suffer a doubt to sojourn [remain, even temporarily] within our heart.

May we henceforth wage constant war against doubts of our God—enemies to our peace and to His honor; and with an unstaggering [unwavering] faith believe that what He has promised He will also perform.

 

"Lord, I believe, help Thou mine unbelief." 

 

A SINNER’S PRAYER: November 9th    … FOR WHOSOEVER:
   Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21

 

Call on the name of the Lord Jesus and be saved     … pray like this, won’t you?   

“Lord Jesus, I’m a lost sinner and without You I am hopeless.  I can’t save myself. Without your death on the cross to pay my sin debt I would be condemned to spend eternity condemned in Hell. My nature has been  self centeredness from birth.  Please forgive me.

I realize that doing my best, being as good as possible, or being better than other people can never save me. . I’m sorry for each and every sin I have done and look to You to forgive me of them all.
I look to You, alone  Lord Jesus to save me.
I call on You,  Lord Jesus, right now to save me.  You died on the cross for me, and because of my sin.

Yet You say,  “It shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21.

 

Right now, just as I am, I call on You, Lord Jesus to save me,  I trust that You, will be my Lord and Savior from now on.

Thank You, Lord Jesus, that You have forgiven me of all my sins.  I ask You to keep in me always the desire to follow You.

You paid the price for all of my sins by dying on the cross.  Even the sins of the whole world.

Thank you,  Lord Jesus that You loved me and died for me even before I was born and that You still love me now. I love You too.
 

Thank you, Heavenly Father, that You called me away from sin and death into the Life everlasting  in Your only begotten son, the Lord Jesus.

 

Thank You, Heavenly Father that you raised Jesus from the dead. He is ALIVE and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave. And, there is therefore now no condemnation in Christ Jesus.
 

Thank You for saving me heavenly Father and Holy Spirit for comfort and guidance revealing  all truth,

 

With all my heart, thank you Lord Jesus for saving me. In your name, I pray, Amen.

 

Please allow us to share the joy of your new birth with heaven. Heaven rejoices over each redeemed sinner. Luke 15:7

I call on You,  by name,  Lord Jesus, right now to save me.  You died on the cross in my place to pay  for my sin. Your Word says,  “It shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21. Thank You, Lord.

 

     Right now, I surrender my sinful self  to You,  just as I am, Lord Jesus. I trust You to forgive me and save me and be my Lord and Savior.
Please forgive me for all my sins. I’m sorry for every sin (bad thoughts, words and things I have done) and look to You to forgive me of them all.  I need your strength to overcome sin’s temptations. Thank you for forgiving me.

    Thank you Lord Jesus that You loved me and died for me before I was born and that You love me still.

"Christ in us is Christ reigning." reminds me [Spurgeon's comment] of Mr. Bunyan’s picture of [the town of] Mansoul, …when the Prince Immanuel laid siege to it, and Diabolus from within the city strove to keep him out. It was a, hard time for Mansoul then; but when at last the battering rams had broken down the gates, and the silver trumpets sounded, and the prince’s captains entered the breach, then on a day the prince himself did ride down the city’s streets, while liberated citizens welcomed him with all their hearts, hung out all their streamers, and made the church towers rock again as the bells rang out merry peals [melody] , for the king himself was come. Up to the castle of the heart he rode in triumph, and took his royal throne to be henceforth the sole lord and king of the city.

Christ in you is a right royal word. Christ swaying his scepter from the center of your being over every power and faculty, desire and resolve, bringing every thought into captivity to himself, oh, this is glory begun, and the sure pledge of heaven. Oh for more of the imperial sovereignty of Jesus; it is our liberty to be absolutely under his sway.

The purpose of The John Mark Publishing Company is to make known the Gospel of The Lord Jesus Christ to everyone. We desire to show the love of Jesus  to all, especially those in need and those in the household of faith. The Bible is God’s everlasting, inspired, (God breathed) inerrant, (error free) immutable (unchangeable), and infallible (incapable of being wrong) divinely protected and preserved  message of salvation to the whole world.  It is the essence of  the ministry  inspired here.
The  inspirational source of  preaching, teaching and writing  by Charles Haddon Spurgeon is from this same essence.  His writings continue to be  much read and much used today in the  support of Gospel preaching. Such ministry is still flourishing  in London at  the Metropolitan Tabernacle,  the church constructed for the 6,000 member congregation in the 1800's. Our effort here is to increase  the publication, circulation and use of Spurgeon's materials for the benefit of the church body as well as all other readers.  To this end we have arranged a daily Table of Contents and have added brief annotations [shown in brackets]  while maintaining a strict fidelity to Spurgeon’s original and unabridged text.
