Chapter 4
1Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3 and every spirit that confesseth not [doesn’t confess] that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
Therefore, I hereby confess that "Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh!"

Chapter 1
Authorized (King James) Version
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God.

Chapter 3
"16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:
God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit,
believed on in the world, received up into glory."
You are invited to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as your savior and your Lord and to publicly acknowledge Him as such. He will acknowledge you then to His Father; The God of Abraham. Isaac and Jacob. You are also invited to follow Him in believer’s baptism.
Jesus came from Galilee to Jordan to be baptized by John the Baptist. But, John forbad [refused] Him and said, “I have need to be baptized of You and [yet] you are coming to me?” [for baptism] And Jesus answering him said, “Suffer it to be so [Allow this]: for thus it becometh [is fitting and right for] us to fulfil all righteousness.” Matthew 3:15
Baptism is not required for salvation. Remember, Jesus said to the thief on the cross, who acknowledged Jesus’ innocence and said to him. “Remember me when you come into your kingdom.” And Jesus said to him, “Verily [Truly] I say to you, Today you shall be with me in paradise.” Luke 23:43
The act of Baptism pictures the Lord’s death and resurrection and by extension through identification with Him, also pictures the believer’s death to self, atonement, and new, born-again life.
The ordinance of Baptism follows the preaching of John the Baptist. He preached the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand and exhorted Repentance from sin and the Baptism of atonement. Therefore, while the ordinance of baptism is not required for salvation it should be followed
to fulfil all righteousness.

Worship The Lord Jesus in Spirit and in truth.
Such worship will manifest itself in fervent Prayer, Bible reading, study and meditation, Hearing and heeding inspired gospel preaching, The singing of inspired, sacred hymns and songs.
We trust the Website: dailypurgeon.com will be encouraging and helpful.
It cannot however, take the place of in-person congregational worship with a local body of believers.
“Study to show yourself approved unto God, a worker that needs not be ashamed, rightly dividing [accurately comprehending and sharing ] the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15
Helping believers to become more fully devoted followers of The Lord Jesus Christ is our sincere desire. We trust Him for our salvation, guidance, strength and our eternal destiny. We will, in His almighty power, win souls through the instrumentalities He may inspire in us. We will invite and encourage non-believers to turn away from sin, look to Him and be saved.
We trust that believers (old and new) will benefit from knowing He will sustain, guide and build us up as we are being conformed to the image of Christ Jesus by the power of the Holy Ghost.
DailySpurgeon.com is an Internet presence of devotional writings, prayers and encouragement from Charles Haddon Spurgeon. He has rightly divided [preached and taught] God’s Word through Sermons from The Metropolitan Tabernacle, with sacred congregational music of worship and praise to encourage and strengthen edification from GOD’S Word and for the elect to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
With a legacy of 140 books and His Sermon Collections of 83 volumes Spurgeon is the most prolific writer in History. [GOAT]

4 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the [Holy] Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth [confesses] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh is of God: 3 and every spirit that confesseth not [doesn’t confess] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
Hence, I confess here that "Jesus Christ is come [is present, here] in the flesh!"

It abbreviates Anno Domini;

BC/AD versus BCE/CE What’s the difference?
Defend the Truth. Won’t you?
[The English translations of the Bible that use a manuscript other than the Textus Receptus translates “is come” as “Has come” and ignore “ictin” (Greek word for is) This error is self-evident because non-believers and false prophets can, and often do, make the confession that Jesus, The Christ [Messiah] “has come” in the flesh. While it is true that He has come, it does not have the same discernment as the confession, “Is HERE”.
The most well documented fact in all of recorded human history is that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. The main question to be ascertained, however, is not whether the spirit [words] being tested say that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh but, whether Jesus Christ, “is here, from God, in the flesh.”
Ephesians 5:30-32
30 for we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
Compare, here, scripture with scripture: “I speak concerning Christ and the church.” [the fleshly embodiment, here, of the body of Christ].

A SINNER'S PRAYER July 16th
________________________________________
PRAYER 25, July 16th Part 10 of 10 THE WASHING OF WATER BY THE WORD.
Now, we pray Thee to grant us the blessing which we have already sought, and let it come upon all the churches of our beloved country. May the Lord revive true and undefiled religion [Faith in Jesus Christ alone] here and in all the other lands where [Jesus] Christ is known and preached, and let the day come when heathendom shall become converted, when the crescent of Mohammed shall wane into eternal night, and when she that sitteth [sits] on the Seven Hills and exalts [pridefully places] herself in the place of God shall be cast down to sink like a millstone in the flood. Let the blessed Gospel of the eternal God prevail, let the whole earth be filled with His glory. Oh! that we may live to see that day.
[In your name, Lord Jesus we pray, Amen.]

ANECDOTE 343: July 16th FISHING BUT NEVER CATCHING.
If a minister can be content to go on preaching without converts or baptisms, the Lord have mercy upon his miserable soul! Can he be a minister of Christ who does not win souls? A man might as well be a huntsman and never take any prey [edible food] , a fisherman and always come home with empty nets, a husbandman and never reap a harvest! I wonder at some people’s complacency. When God never blesses them, they never fail to bless themselves.
“Divine sovereignty withholds the increase,” they say. But it really is their idleness that tends to poverty. The promise of God is to the diligent, not the indolent [lazy]. Let Paul plant, and let Apollos water, God will give the increase. It may not come to-day, nor to-morrow, nor the next day,
but come it must. The word cannot return unto God void.

FAITH’S CHECKBOOK July 16th THE MOURNER COMFORTED
by C.H. Spurgeon
-Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted- Matthew 5:4
-Bienaventurados los que lloran: porque ellos recibirán consolación- Mateo 5:4
By the valley of weeping, we come to Zion. One would have thought mourning and being blessed were in opposition, but the infinitely wise Savior puts them together, in this beatitude [blessing]. What He has joined together let no man put asunder [apart].
Mourning for sin -our own sins, and the sins of others-
is the Lord’s seal set upon His faithful ones.
When the Spirit of grace is poured upon the house of David, or any other house,
they shall mourn.
By [through] holy mourning we receive the best of our blessings, even as the rarest commodities come to us by water. Not only shall the mourner be blessed at some future day, but
Christ pronounces him blessed even now.
The Holy Spirit will surely comfort those hearts which mourn for sin.
They shall be comforted by the application of the blood of Jesus, and by the cleansing power of the Holy Ghost. They shall be comforted as to the abounding sin of their city and of their age by the assurance that
God will glorify Himself, however much men may rebel against Him.
They shall be comforted with the expectation that they shall be wholly freed from sin before long, and shall soon be taken up to dwell forever in the glorious presence of their Lord.
Prayer: Thank You Father, that You comfort our mourning. Thank You also for giving us Your word of encouragement. Help us to embrace sorrow knowing that you will bring blessing to us, from it in your name, Lord Jesus, I pray, Amen.

MORNING July 16th
"The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out. " —Leviticus 6:13
-El fuego ha de arder continuamente en el altar ; no se apagará-—Levítico 6:13
KEEP the altar of private prayer burning. This is the very life of all godliness. The sanctuary [church worship] and family altars [personal devotions] borrow their fires here [start new fires from lively, burning ones], therefore let this one burn well.
Secret devotion is the very essence, evidence, and barometer of vital and experiential [practical] religion [vibrant, lively faith in the Lord Jesus].
Burn here the fat of your sacrifices. Let your closet [private prayer] seasons be, if possible, regular, frequent, and undisturbed.
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much James 5:16. [is very fruitful].
Have you nothing to pray for? Let us suggest
the church,
the ministry [and ministers],
your own soul,
your children,
your relations,
your neighbors,
your country, and
the cause of God and truth throughout the world.
Let us examine ourselves on this important matter. Do we engage with luke-warmness [half-heartedness] in private devotion? Is the fire of devotion [to the Lord Jesus] burning dimly in our hearts? Do the chariot wheels drag heavily [barely turn]?
If so, let us be alarmed at this sign of decay. Let us go with weeping and ask for the Spirit of grace and of supplications [effectual prayer].
Let us set apart special seasons for extraordinary prayer.
For if this fire should be smothered beneath the ashes of worldly conformity, it will dim the fire on family devotions, and lessen our influence both in the church and in the world.
The text will also apply to the altar of the heart. This is a golden altar indeed.
God loves to see the hearts of His people glowing towards Himself.
Let us give our hearts to God, all blazing with love, and seek His grace, that the fire may never be quenched [put out]; for it will not burn if the Lord does not keep it burning.
Many foes will attempt to extinguish it; but if the unseen hand behind the wall pour thereon the sacred oil, it will blaze higher and higher.
Let us use texts of Scripture as fuel for our heart's fire, they are live coals; let us attend sermons, but above all,
let us be much alone with Jesus.

EVENING July 16th
"He appeared first to Mary Magdalene. " —Mark 16:9
— Apareció Jesús primeramente á María Magdalena—Marcos 16:9
JESUS "appeared first to Mary Magdalene,"
probably not only on account of her great love and persevering [relentless] seeking, but because, as the context intimates, [shows] she had been a special trophy of Christ's delivering power.
Learn from this, that the greatness of our sin before conversion should not make us imagine that we may not be specially favored with the very highest grade of fellowship.
She was one who had left all to become a constant attendant on the Savior. He was her first, her chief object. Many who were on Christ's side did not take up Christ's cross;
she did.
She spent her substance in relieving His wants. If we would see much of Christ, let us
serve Him.
Tell me who they are that sit oftenest [the most frequently] under the banner of His love and drink deepest from the cup of communion [the Lord’s supper], and I am sure they will be those who give most, who serve best, and who abide closest to the bleeding heart of their dear Lord [Jesus].
But notice how Christ revealed Himself to this sorrowing one—by the word,
"Mary."
With only one word in His voice, she knew Him at once, and her heart owned allegiance by another word; her heart was too full to say more.
That one word would naturally be the most fitting for the occasion. It implies obedience.
She said, "Master."
There is no state of mind in which this confession of allegiance will be too cold. No, when your spirit glows most with the heavenly fire, then you will say,
"I am Your servant, You have loosed my bonds [You have set me free]."
If you can say, "Master," if you feel that His will is your will, then you stand in a happy, holy place.
He must have said your name or else you could not have said, "Rabboni" [Master].
See, then, from all this, how Christ honors those who honor Him, how love draws [attracts] our Beloved, [and] how but one word of His,
turns our weeping to rejoicing, how
His presence makes the heart's sunshine [sunshine in our hearts].
Sing: There is Sunshine in my Soul today

A SINNER’S PRAYER July 16th
Whosoever shall call on the name of the lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21
Pray and call on the name of the Lord Jesus, like this. Won’t you?
“Lord Jesus, I’m a sinner. I’m lost and hopeless to save myself. Without you and your blood that was shed for me and Your death on the cross I would spend eternity in Hell’s fire.
Thank you Lord Jesus that You love me and died for me before I was born and that You have always loved me and will never reject or turn your back on me. I know You are the Way, the Truth and the Life and that no one can come to the Father but by You.
Thank you, Father that You have caused for me to see myself as I am; a lost sinner. But, because of Your love and goodness, You have made a way and given me the desire to come to You, to turn away from my sin and to trust in You, Lord Jesus. You took my place on the cross and provided the way for me to be forgiven. Thank You.
Thank You that You prompted a desire in me to believe in You, the only begotten Son of God who died on the cross to be the sacrifice that would atone for my sins.
Thank You, Father for Your love that allowed Jesus to suffer and die in my place. Thank You that You raised Jesus from the dead. He is RISEN and is ALIVE and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave and in Christ Jesus I am free.
You raised Jesus from the dead, gave Him a Glorified body and after he was seen by many witnesses on earth You took Him up to reign with You in heaven.
Thank you, Father, for saving me in the name, of Your only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
Romans 6:11
Thank you, Holy Spirit, that you always give witness to and exalt the Lord Jesus Christ.
John 16:8-11
With all my heart, thank you Lord for saving me.
Live Your life in me, Lord Jesus, in Your name I pray, Amen.

Why Cults, False Teachers and Heretics have tried to delete 1 John 5:7

1 John 5:7 Is The Great Trinitarian Proof Text of The Bible. (For The immutable Doctrine of the Trinity.)
Daniel Webster [Author of the Famous Webster Dictionary] was once asked. “Does it not bother you [Mr. Webster] to believe in the Trinity since you cannot explain it?
His answer was, “What would bother me would be to have a God so small that I could fully explain HIM.”

The Lord Jesus *Christ
[*Anointed Messiah]
was supernaturally Fathered by the Holy Ghost, and born of a teen-aged virgin girl named Mary 2026 years ago in Bethlehem of Judea.
He was crucified, and His lifeless body was placed in a tomb. After three days, GOD brought Him back to life again, and raised HIM from the dead victorious over sin, death and the grave.
He is GOD’S Incarnate WORD and Everlasting SACRIFICE, The LAMB of GOD, [THE WORD of GOD made flesh.] The CHURCH is the BODY of *Christ,
*[The MESSIAH.]
[The CHURCH] is HIS espoused [Legally Bound] Bride, for whom HE will come again to consummate their Marriage in the Marriag and Protected Words of GOD.
These WORDS are God-Breathed, [Spoken] Eternal WORDS spoken by Almighty GOD. The same GOD who calls Himself “I AM”, is Omni-Lingual, Omnipotent, Omniscient, Immutable, All-Wise, Omnipresent, Eternally and Supremely Holy. He is the One-and-Only Triune, Three-in-One GOD.
“I and my Father are one”. John 10:30

1 John 5:7 Is the fundamental scriptural basis for the doctrine and essential tenet of the Trinity. [The Triune, [Three-in-One] GOD in-Three Persons (This verse has been omitted or Changed to diminish the authority and the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ or has been Removed entirely from all Critical Text translations by apostates that hold to the untenable goal of False Doctrine that gives rise to all manner of Cults, False Teaching, Heresies, false Prophets, Agnostics, Gnostics, Atheists and Pagans.
Therefore, The incarnate WORD of GOD, [Jesus *Christ
(*The Anointed MESSIAH) and His Father are ONE.] John 10:30
7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, [Jesus Christ] and the Holy Ghost: and
THESE THREE ARE ONE. John 10:30
8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, [Holy Ghost] and the Water [Life of the Father], and the Blood; [The Sacrificial Blood of Jesus Christ]: and these three AGREE IN ONE. 9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son, [The LORD Jesus *Christ
*(The Anointed Messiah)].
GOD calls Himself “I AM” and Jesus Christ is The WORD made Flesh, GOD’s WORD is infinite and will endure FOREVER, from Eternity Past through the never-ending Eternal Future.

The Traditional Text: It's History & Manifestation
By Dr. David Sorenson
In addition to evidence of authenticity from the 5,321 Majority Text manuscripts, this link presents Translational Evidence that the Traditional Text is Inerrant, Infallible and is the Inspired [Word-by-Word, GOD-Breathed Greek Text that moved the Prophets and Apostles to write precisely the Greek and Hebrew words they were told to write by the Holy Ghost]
The Traditional Text. Length: (33:56 minutes)
The Traditional Greek Text was printed, not written by Desiderius Erasmus and was used in the FIRST Christian Church at Antioch. It was later called The Received Text [vis. Latin: The Textus Receptus TR].
Over Five Billion King James Bibles, the 1769 Edition [NOT the NEW King James Bibles based on the inferior Critical Greek Text] account for more sales world-wide than any other version or edition of the Holy Bible.
This is more than all other Bible Versions and Editions Combined.

By Dr. David Sorenson
So, Dr. Sorenson, “I hear You are King James Only.”
No, I’m Traditional Text only. But if you come to the view and the conviction of being Traditional Text only, you will be Only King James.
The issue is not translational.
Marketing ploys by publishing companies with little basis in reality would have us to believe that the new versions are:
-
Easier to read.
-
More modern.
-
More accurate (Not true)
The truth is that the KJV remains The most popular. (is still the most popularly read Bible in America). Over five billion copies of the King James (1769) is greater than all the other versions and editions combined.
The issue comes down to the textual issue. By That, I refer to the underlying Greek text. I guess we could say texts, plural but particularly that of the New Testament. On the one hand is the Traditional Text from which the only major English translation is the King James Version of the Bible. The Traditional Text.
On the other hand, is the Critical Text sometimes called the eclectic text from whence all the other translations come. And some will say well there really is no difference between them. The difference you could amount to is just the footnotes in the bottom of a page. (This is Not true) He was not dishonest but just repeating what someone had told him.

We’re Grateful.
Thank you, Lord, for DailySpurgeon.com a website to encourage and support personal devotions to the Lord Jesus. This ministry started with sending e-mails of Faith’s Checkbook by Charles H. Spurgeon to Jon Edward Riley and others he would include..
Jon was called home by his loving Father in Heaven on January 16, 2021.
His memory is honored here, giving honor to whom honor is due. We pray that through this and all other instrumentalities that God may effect, many will be born again, challenged, encouraged, and supported to grow in personal devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ while being conformed to His image; that they might be the firstborn among many brethren.. Romans 13:7 Romans 8:28-29

Jon loved to say, “I’m a blood bought, born-again child of God!” to anyone he happened to meet.
… Jon’s testimony is from one who, by grace through faith was forever accepted in the Beloved; who’s loving ways brought the good news of Jesus to many. and one who is present with the LORD in glory forever. One with whom we’ll one day meet again.
Amen.
Jon would sometimes just sing-out some of the following songs on the way to church, or sometimes just singing along with the Elvis Gospel CD that was always in our F-150’s CD player while riding with his Dad or,
Best of all, when an inspired, spontaneous praise from the Lord would just pop out from his joyful and loving heart.

SACRED LITERATURE: The Pilgrim’s Progress by John Bunyan
Note: Spurgeon was taught to read at a very early age and read The Pilgrim’s Progress for the first time when he was six years old. He would return to re-read it over 100 times. He made many references to it in his sermons as Pastor of The Metropolitan Tabernacle in London.
Excerpt from Sermon: II. § 5 THE SWEETNESS OF THIS MYSTERY,
WHICH IS CHRIST IN YOU
"Christ in us is Christ reigning." reminds me [Spurgeon] of Mr. Bunyan’s picture in The Pilgrim’s Progress. of [the town of] Mansoul, …when the Prince Immanuel laid siege to it, and Diabolus from within the city strove to keep him out. It was a, hard time for Mansoul then; but when at last the battering rams [ancient weapons of war] had broken down the gates, and the silver trumpets sounded, and the prince’s captains entered the breach, then on a day the prince himself did ride down the city’s streets, while liberated citizens welcomed him with all their hearts, hung out all their streamers, and made the church towers rock again as the bells rang out merry peals [melodies], for the king himself was come. Up to the castle of the heart [main castle] he rode in triumph, and took his royal throne to be henceforth the sole lord and king of the city.
Christ in you is a right royal word. Christ swaying his scepter from the center of your being over every power and faculty, desire and resolve, bringing every thought into captivity to himself, oh, this is glory begun, and the sure pledge of heaven. Oh for more of the imperial sovereignty of Jesus; it is our liberty to be absolutely under his sway.

THE PILGRIM’S PROGRESS by John Bunyan is the most famous Allegory, world-wide and the Most widely Published Book of all time and was printed in over 200 Languages. It has NEVER, since 1698, been out-of-print.
Only The King James Bible was more widely published than The Pilgrim’s Progress.

REVISED VERSION: The Pilgrim’s Progrefs [sic] 1999 by Barry E. Horner
OLD ENGLISH PRINT: The Pilgrim’s Progress Part II AKA Christiana
(Christian’s wife, Christiana and children; their dangerous journey, and safe arrival at the desired country.)
Pilgrim Progress is the world’s most famous Allegory, It and the Bible were commonly the only books to be found in the cabin of early American Settlers and were loved and read more than any book, second only to the Holy Bible. It’s also considered, by some, as being the world’s first English novel. It’s likely the most published book other than the Bible of all time. There were 1,300 editions printed before 1938, 250 years after the Bunyan’s death. Hence, the world’s most famous Allegory.
Comment on Pilgrim’s Progress by Charles H. Spurgeon from the Spurgeon Sermon
“Christ in You”.
Spurgeon: Christ in us is Christ reigning." reminds me of Mr. Bunyan’s picture of [the town of] Mansoul, …when the Prince Immanuel laid siege to it, and Diabolus from within the city strove to keep him out. It was a, hard time for Mansoul then; but when at last the battering rams had broken down the gates, and the silver trumpets sounded, and the prince’s captains entered the breach, then on a day the prince himself did ride down the city’s streets, while liberated citizens welcomed him with all their hearts, hung out all their streamers, and made the church towers rock again as the bells rang out merry peals [happy melodies] , for the king himself was come.
Oh, for more of the imperial sovereignty of Jesus, The Messiah; our liberty to be absolutely under his sway.
Spurgeon Sermon: Christ in You, Preached May 13, 1883 Scripture: Colossians 1:27 From: Metropolitan Tabernacle Pulpit, Volume 29 (cit. II. THE SWEETNESS OF THIS MYSTERY, WHICH IS CHRIST IN YOU, § 5)
You may choose to read, listen or share Pilgrim’s Progress with your little ones as a bed time story. It will bless, strengthen, encourage and instruct pilgrims of all ages and will create precious and enduring memories in little ears.
Spurgeon read it for the first time as a precocious five year old reader and would returned to read it over 100 times during the course of his remarkable ministry as a Baptist pastor who is known as The Prince of Preachers .

PRAYER 25, Part 10 of 10
THE WASHING OF WATER BY THE WORD.
The Lord bless our country; have pity upon it. God bless the Sovereign with every mercy and blessing. Grant that there may be in Thine [Your] infinite wisdom a change in the state of trade and commerce, that there may be less complaint and distress [hardship]. Oh! let the people see Thy hand, and understand why it is laid upon them, that they may turn from wrongdoing and seek righteousness and follow after peace. Then shall the blessing return. The Lord hear us as in secret we often cry to Thee on behalf of this misled land. The Lord deliver it, and lift up the light of His countenance upon it yet again, for Jesus’ sake. Amen.
[I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.]

ANECDOTE 344: A Faithful Messenger
Do you send a servant [messenger] to the door of a neighbor with a message? If the person at the door should be angry, the servant [messenger] would say, “It is of no use being angry with me; you must be angry with my master, for I have given you the message just as he gave it to me.” And if they should be angry with him, he would say,
“I would much rather that the stranger at the door should be angry with me for telling the message than that my master should be angry with me for keeping it back, for to my master I stand or fall.”
I think the minister of God, if he has preached faithfully, may say,
“Well, I have delivered only what my Master told me; if you are angry with me, you must remember that you ought to be angry with my Master, for it was my Master’s message, and it is better for you to be angry with me than for my Master to be angry with me.” ________________________________________
FAITH’S CHECKBOOK JULY 16 A WORD TO HER WHO HALTS [IS LAME]
By C.H. Spurgeon
-I will save her that halteth [is lame].- Zephaniah 3:19
-Salvare la coja- Sofonias 3:19
There are plenty of these lame ones, both male and female. You may meet “her that halteth” twenty times in an hour. They are on the right road, and exceedingly anxious to run in it with diligence,
but they are lame, and make a sorry walk of it. On the heavenly road there are many cripples. It may be that they say in their hearts
-What will become of us? Sin will overtake us, Satan will throw us down. -
Ready-to-halt- is our name and our nature; the Lord can never make good soldiers of us, nor even nimble messengers to go on His errands.
Well, well! He will save us, and that is no small thing. He says,
-I will save her that halteth.-[is Lame]
In saving us He will greatly glorify Himself. Everybody will ask
-How came this lame woman to run the race and win the crown?
And then the praise will all be given to almighty grace.
Lord, though I halt in faith, in prayer, in praise, in service, and in patience, save me, I beseech [implore] thee!
Only thou canst save such a cripple as I am. Lord, let me not perish because I am among the hindmost, but gather up by thy grace the slowest of thy pilgrims — even me.
Behold He hath said it shall be so, and therefore, like Jacob, prevailing in prayer,
I go forward though my sinew [leg] be shrunk.
Prayer: Thank You Father, for healing those who are crippled. [all of us] Thank You for this word of encouragement. Help me to embrace afflictions knowing that you will bring blessing from them. Thank You for Your healing, all-sufficient grace Lord Jesus, in Your name I pray, Amen.

MORNING, July 16
“They gathered manna every morning.”—Exodus 16:21
Y recogíanlo cada mañana, cada uno según lo que había de comer: —Exodo 16:21
Labor to maintain a sense of thine entire dependence upon the Lord’s good will and pleasure for the continuance of thy richest enjoyments. Never try to live on the old manna, nor seek to find help in Egypt. [the World]
All must come from Jesus, or thou art [you are] undone forever.
Old anointings [divine strength of the past] will not suffice to impart unction [spiritual strength] to thy spirit; thine head must have fresh oil poured upon it from the golden horn of the sanctuary, or it will cease from its glory.
Today thou mayest [may] be upon the summit of the mount of God, but he who has put thee there must keep thee there, or thou wilt sink far more speedily than thou dreamest [than you imagine].
Thy mountain only stands firm when he settles it in its place; if he hide his face, thou wilt soon be troubled. If the Savior should see fit, there is not a window through which thou seest [see] the light of heaven, which he could not darken in an instant.
Joshua bade [told] the sun stand still, but Jesus can shroud it in total darkness. He can withdraw the joy of thine heart, the light of thine eyes, and the strength of thy life; in his hand thy comforts lie, and at his will they can depart from thee.
This hourly dependence our Lord is determined that we shall feel and recognize, for he only permits us to pray for
“daily bread,”
and only promises that
“as our days [are] our strength shall be.”
Is it not best for us that it should be so, that we may often repair [come] to his throne, and constantly be reminded of his love? Oh! how rich the grace which supplies us so continually, and doth not refrain itself because of our ingratitude!
The golden shower never ceases, the cloud of blessing tarries evermore above our habitation.
O Lord Jesus, we would [must] bow at thy feet,
conscious of our utter inability to do anything without thee, and
in every *favor which we are privileged to receive, we would adore thy blessed name and acknowledge thine unexhausted love.
* English (USA) spelling

EVENING July 16
“Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favor her, yea, the set time is come. For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust thereof.”—Psalm 102:13, 14
Tú, levantándote, tendrás misericordia de Sión; Porque el tiempo de tener misericordia de ella, porque el plazo es llegado. Porque tus siervos aman sus piedras, Y del polvo de ella tienen compasión. Salmos 102: 13, 14
A selfish man in trouble is exceedingly hard to comfort, because the springs [supply] of his comfort lie entirely within himself, and when he is sad all his springs are dry.
But a large-hearted man full of Christian philanthropy, [charity and love] has other springs from which to supply himself with comfort beside those which lie within. He can go to his God first of all, and there find abundant help; and he can discover arguments for consolation in things relating to the world at large, to his country, and, above all, to the church.
David in this Psalm was exceedingly sorrowful; he wrote,
“I am like an owl of the desert. I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top.”
The only way in which he could comfort himself, was in the reflection that God would arise, and have mercy upon Zion: though he was sad, yet Zion should prosper; however low his own estate, yet Zion should arise.
Christian man! learn to comfort thyself in God’s gracious dealing towards the church. That which is so dear to thy Master, should it not be dear above all else to thee? What, though thy way be dark, canst thou not gladden thine heart with the triumphs of his cross and the spread of his truth?
Our own personal troubles are forgotten while we look, not only upon what God has done, and is doing for Zion, but on the glorious things he will yet do for his church.
Try this receipt [recipe], O believer, whenever thou art sad of heart and in heaviness of spirit:
forget thyself and thy little concerns, and seek the welfare and prosperity of Zion. [The church]
When thou bendest [you bend] thy knee in prayer to God, limit not thy petition to the narrow circle of thine own life, tried though it be, but send out thy longing prayers for the church’s prosperity,
“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem,” and thine own soul shall be refreshed.

Amen... Amen… Amen!
My Daddy’s prayer before every meal, he always offered with all gravity and reverence heard in the unique inflection of his deep Bass voice of prayer:
“Accept our thanks for these and all other blessings, we humbly ask in Thy name, Amen.”

… and pray for souls to be saved and believers to be strengthened.
The Lord … is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Pray also that believers will be taught by the Holy Spirit and will rightly divide God’s Holy Word preserved by God, Himself.

vis. Textus Receptus [The Received Greek Text] (From the overwhelming majority of extant New Testament Greek manuscripts)
The Incomplete and unsealed codices of Sinaiticus and Vaticanus are not majority texts, [Original Masoretic Hebrew and the Greek Textus Receptus]. Sinaiticus and Vaticanus present variant, ambiguous and erroneous readings rather than that of the well-established and settled texts. They disagree often with one another as well as with the settled majority texts. Thus, an attempt to create a pretext that will continue to justify a never-ending demand for additional editions and interpretations. These unsettled differences and bias in certain sectarian doctrine [dogma] have led to the production of multiple “modern” editions with ambiguities, many variant readings and confusion from the explosion of unending, new editions.
Profit-driven publishers have embraced such an economic windfall to sell a continual flow of “new and better” English edition of The Bible. They give too little attention to the fidelity and accuracy already settled [in heaven] in majority manuscripts of the Masoretic Hebrew and the Greek Textus Receptus.
Psalm 119:89-90
89 Forever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.
90 Thy faithfulness is unto all generations:
thou hast established the earth, and it abideth. [abides]
God, Himself, providentially protects and preserves His Word. His Word is the God-breathed, self-authenticating, immutable [unchanging and unchangeable], eternal, inerrant, infallible, infinite and all-powerful Word, settled in heaven. He is not the author of confusion.

MISSION STATEMENT:
… Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. Ecclesiastes 12:13
Our solemn aim is to trust and obey the Lord Jesus in everything. We must rely upon God entirely to achieve His purposes in us and through us.
Loving and worshiping God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength in Spirit and in truth is a labor of love and duty of every believer. Desire will grow stronger as we give ourselves to prayer, reading and meditating on God’s Word, gathering ourselves together to hear Gospel preaching, the singing of Psalms, sacred hymns and spiritual songs.
We purpose, with God’s help, to reach the lost, comfort, strengthen and encourage believers, and rightly divide God’s Word to proclaim the Gospel (Good News) of Jesus Christ to every creature.
The Holy Bible is God’s eternal, inerrant, infallible, immutable revealed and divinely preserved Word. It is His completed scripture of all revealed truth. He brings guidance and the knowledge of His will to us personally and to each local body of Christian believers through His Word. With God’s help and empowerment, we will read, study, meditate-on, trust-in and obey God’s Holy Bible and encourage others to do the same. We hold it to be the supreme authority and the preeminent and divinely established precedent [Stare Decisis Latin: to stand by that which is decided, the legal doctrine of precedence, literally "to stand by decided matters"] in all things.
Therefore, the purpose of The John Mark Publishing Company is to publish the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every creature. And, to serve all, in love, especially those in the household of faith. We are compelled by this purpose to follow, and rightly apply and proclaim, God’s Holy Word, the Bible, as God’s divinely preserved truth; being the essential authority and goal of this ministry.
The Metropolitan Tabernacle: Home church of Charles H. Spurgeon
The preaching, teaching, soul winning and writings of Charles Haddon Spurgeon are firmly fixed on the bedrock of Holy Scripture. His entire ministry was established, empowered and inspired solely by God’s Holy Word imparted to him by the Holy Spirit. His written works continue to bless, guide, challenge and benefit today’s readers through the publication of his authentic Gospel sermons and other inspired writing His ministry continues to thrive and flourish today through the Metropolitan Tabernacle a church begun in 1650 The present building was constructed in 1861 and was rebuilt after the destruction caused during the second world war. This church has been steadfast in it’s adherence to Reformed Baptist theology that Spurgeon said was just a nickname for Biblical Christianity. They have resisted and continue to reject worldly winds of false doctrine, including pragmatism and self-centered “Christian hedonism”. Biblical Christianity will always show itself as a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, never just a philosophy or religion.
Mission Aim: Spurgeon's sermons and devotional messages have edified the church body and have been a great benefit, to all readers for many years. We pray they will be useful to strengthen personal discipleship in each and every believer and will be a useful instrument in the spreading of the Gospel [Good news] of Jesus Christ, the Messiah to all nations.

With God’s help, we will follow Jesus. We expect that lost souls will be saved, believers, comforted, strengthened and encouraged. To God be all the glory.
The Bible is God’s divinely inspired [God breathed] revealed, infinite, eternal, inerrant, infallible, immutable Word to all mankind. This divine, supernatural Word brings all revealed truth to the world. We purpose, therefore, to follow God’s Holy Word, Personal guidance and guidance to the local church comes by His Word.
Hence, we resolve, God helping us, to read, study, meditate-on, trust-in and obey God’s revealed and divinely preserved Word, holding it to be the supreme authority and the only divinely established Stare Decisis [Latin: to stand by that which is decided] in all things.
Therefore, the purpose of The John Mark Publishing Company is to publish and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every creature, ministering God’s love to all, especially those in the household of faith. The Bible is God’s everlasting, inspired, (God breathed) inerrant, infallible, unchangeable, divinely protected and preserved Word of love and salvation to the entire world. It is also the essential foundation of this ministry.

Prayer: Dear Lord, empower your ministry to win many souls, and serve those in need, especially those in the household of faith, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
Disclaimer: The John Mark Publishing Company does not solicit praise of Charles H. Spurgeon or his writing or preaching. He didn’t need or want it then and wouldn’t desire it now. Our aim is to lift up and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and to preach Christ Jesus only and him crucified.
Precaution: These Messages and prayers will not substitute for continual fellowship with the Lord Jesus or for gathering in in-person worship. Neither will they replace personal reading, meditation, prayer and fasting over God's divinely preserved and eternal Word imparted by the Holy Spirit.
The Authorized King James Version (AKJV), also known as the Authorized Version (AV), is the authentic English Bible because it is rendered [translated into English] accurately and faithfully from the established majority of the Greek Textus Receptus [received text] manuscripts of the New Testament and the Hebrew Masoretic Text of the Old Testament (The Jewish Tanakh) These manuscripts are providentially protected of God, and always give a greater glory to God when compared to variant readings. The established majority manuscripts avoid doctrinal error, inaccuracies in translation, uninspired editorial notations, variant or ambiguous readings taken from Codices Vaticanus, or Sinaiticus.
The Authorized King James version is distinguished also by the requirement of Great Brittan that all King James bibles be printed only by the Cambridge University Press, the Crown’s authorized printer. No other [person or publisher] may print, copy or import the King James Bible into Great Brittan by order of the Crown.
Printed Prayer: Printed prayers must not be read or offered as a substitute for personal, fervent, effectual, heart-felt, prayer. They are offered, rather, to warm the hearts of those who will presently seek a season of fervent, authentic two-way, heart-to-heart fellowship and prayer with the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. Authentic revelations from God during prayer are always consistent with His revealed Word, the Bible.
Preaching Preparation: When preparing to preach, please send us the text reference that has been chosen if you would like us to send the Spurgeon Sermon addressing the same text.
My Prayer is that You would touch, lift up, encourage and teach all who faithfully minister your Word. Bless all who minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ. May Your blessing and holy anointing fall fresh upon each dear reader and abide with each one who rightly divides and faithfully proclaims Your Word [The Bible]. Please save many souls; and may all be glory be yours alone. I pray this in the name of our Redeemer, The Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

A SINNER’S PRAYER: … FOR WHOSOEVER:
Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21
Call on the name of the Lord Jesus and be saved … pray like this, won’t you?
“Lord Jesus, I’m a lost sinner and without You I am lost. I can’t save myself. Without your death on the cross to pay my sin debt I would be condemned to spend eternity in Hell. My nature and behavior has been sinful from birth. Please forgive me.
I realize that doing my best, being as good as possible, or being better than other people can never save me. . I’m sorry for each and every sin I have ever done and look to You to forgive them all.
I look to You, alone Lord Jesus to save me.
I call on You, Lord Jesus, right now to save me. You died on the cross for me, as God’s sacrifice for my sin.
Right now, just as I am, I call on You, Lord Jesus to save me, I trust You to be my Savior and Lord.
Thank You, Lord Jesus, that You have forgiven me of all my sins. I want to follow You from now on.
You paid the price for all of my sins by dying on the cross.
Thank you, Lord Jesus that You loved me and died for me before I was born and that You love me still
Thank you, Heavenly Father, that You called me away from sin and death into the Life everlasting in Your only begotten son, the Lord Jesus.
Thank You, Heavenly Father that you raised Jesus from the dead. He is alive and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave.
Thank You for saving me heavenly Father and Holy Spirit for Your comfort and guidance in all things.
With all my heart, thank you Lord Jesus for saving me. In your name, I pray, Amen.

Philippians Chapter 4
1Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.
2 I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord.
3 And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which labored with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellow laborers, whose names are in the book of life.
4 Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. (sing-along)
5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth [passes] all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
10 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity.
11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth [strengthens] me.
14 Notwithstanding ye have well done, that ye did communicate with my affliction.
15 Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.
16 For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity.
17 Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.
18 But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odor of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well pleasing to God.
19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
20 Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
21 Salute every saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren which are with me greet you.
22 All the saints salute you, chiefly they that are of Cesar’s household.
23 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
