DEVOTION for October 26th  2025

_________________________________________________

Note: The New King James Version NKJV and all versions  NOT  translated from  Scrivener’s Textus Receptus [The Received Text] contain variant  inferior  readings.  Changes that reduce the full  glory and Holy reverence written in the  1769 Edition of the 1611 King James Version  KJV also known as the Authorized King James  Version  AKJV or the  Authorized Version AV. The Geneva Bible is also faithfully translated from  Scrivener’s  Greek Textus Receptus.

Only the Textus Receptus [Received Text] is produced  from more than 5,321 original Majority Greek Manuscripts MT and agree 99% with one another. All other variant readings are translated from  either Westcott and Hort’s or Nestle and Aland’s, Greek Texts  fabricated from only a handful [45] of Majority Text Manuscripts MT and  lack the  trustworthiness of  the inspired 1769 [1611] King James Version, KJV and the Geneva Bibles. are the only two translations from the traditional, reliable, inspired, [GOD BREATHED] immutable  and providentially and divinely protected Textus Receptus.

The Bridge to Babylon video presents historical evidence that accounts for the explosion of over 100 different  English version translations  of the Bible. The continuing attempts to replace, add or take away from the 1769 King James Version of the Holy Bible can not  prevail because GOD Himself preserves and protects His inspired Holy Words

from all heresy, blasphemy, confusion , error additions, subtractions and changes.

* BCE/CE  vs.  BC/AD     What’s the difference?
Learn the difference;  defend the Truth.   Won’t you?

A.D. does NOT mean “After Death” as many mistakenly believe. It is Latin for Anno Domini,  a  phrase adopted into English usage that means  “Year of [the/our] Lord”.  The complete  original phrase "anno Domini nostri Jesu Christi" means "in the year of our Lord Jesus Christ”. A.D. is used with B.C. Before Christ  to divide all history before and after the birth of Jesus Christ.   ...More

Is the website DAILYSPURGEON  faithful?

Is it of God?

1 John 4:1-3

Beloved ones, don’t be believing every spirit [everyone or everything] you hear but be testing the spirit [voice] whether it is of God: because many false prophets have gone [come] out into the world. Here’s how you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit [voice] that confesses [avows] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh, having come[who came] out of God, is of God: and every spirit that confesses not [doesn’t audibly avow] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

I hereby confess, out-loud,  that Jesus Christ is come   [is here] in the flesh.

[All translations of the Bible that use a Greek text other than the traditional and reliable Textus Receptus ignore the word “ictin” (the Greek word that means “is” in English).  This omission causes the meaning of “is here” to  change from “is come” [is here] to “has come”.

This error is self-evident as non-believers, false prophets and even heretics can, and frequently  do, declare that He “has come” [in the flesh].

While this is a true statement, when taken at face value, the  meaning  “has come” is clearly not the same as “is here”; which is the valid, scriptural  test of  discernment between the Spirit of God and the spirit of antichrist.

The most well documented fact in all human history is that Jesus Christ [The Messiah]  “has come” in the flesh. However, the question of greatest importance,  is not whether the spirit [words or person] being considered and tested confesses that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh but, whether the confession being made affirms that Jesus Christ, “is come” [is here],  (NOW) from God, in the flesh.

Ephesians 5:30-32

30 for we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32

This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.  [The body of CHRIST]

Compare scripture with scripture:

“I speak concerning Christ and the church.” [the fleshly embodiment, here and now ,  of the body of Christ]. Because  we are members of the Body of Christ [The Church]

DAILY SPURGEON  and DEVOTION for  October 26th       * A.D.  2025 written and calendared by Charles H. Spurgeon.

The Lord Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh, 1 John 4:2-4
was born of a virgin  A.D. 2025 years ago.
He’s  alive  today, has existed from eternity past to eternity future as God’s eternal, everlasting Word that has always existed as The Body of Christ [The Messiah]
and He’s returning soon for his bride, the Church.

And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:
God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit,
believed on in the world, received up into glory.  1 Timothy  3:16

Look unto me, and be ye saved all the ends of the earth:
for I am God and there is none else.   Isaiah 45:22

Worship God in Spirit and in Truth:

  • Praying with our heavenly Father, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob; 1 Thessalonians 5:17

  • Hearing and obeying the eternal, inspired, immutable, inerrant, infallible, revealed and protected Word of God, revealed through Jesus Christ, the living Word; 1 Peter 1:23

  • Being filled with the Spirit; speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;    Ephesians 5:18-19

  • Gather in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
    Matthew 18:20     - Jesus Christ

Please join us in prayer, devotional study, gospel preaching, and singing sacred hymns and praises as we worship God in spirit and in truth.

DailySpurgeon is a collection of inspired,  encouraging, and  challenging devotional messages by Charles Haddon Spurgeon for such worship.  I pray this instrumentality be used, Heavenly Father, to the save the lost.  Encourage and embolden us as we “Study to shew [show] ourselves approved unto God, workers that need not to be ashamed, rightly dividing [sharing] the word of truth.”

 2 Timothy 2:15   …in Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.

Loving and worshiping God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength in Spirit and in truth is our labor of love and the joyful duty of every believer. This heart’s desire will grow stronger as we give ourselves to fully devoted prayer, reading and meditating on God’s Word, gathering ourselves together to hear Gospel preaching,  and singing Psalms, sacred hymns and spiritual songs.

To these ends, we pray DailySpurgeon.com  will be inspired from The Heavenly Father. We ask that it be acceptable in Your sight and empowered by The Holy Ghost, so that many souls will be brought to faith in The Lord Jesus Christ  [The Messiah] .

We ask also that it may inspire and manifest ever greater devotion, consecration and personal discipleship in every born-again believer.

This web site is not intended, were it possible, to take the place of Christian fellowship, live gospel preaching or congregational gatherings for praise and worship in-person. But rather, it is intended to encourage and strengthen fully devoted personal prayer, Bible study and obedience to God’s Word.

“Study to show yourself  approved unto God, a worker that needs not be ashamed, rightly dividing [accurately comprehending and sharing] the word of truth.”   2 Timothy 2:15

Our aim is to follow the Lord Jesus Christ who says, “I am the way, the truth and the life…”  John 14:6

Jesus was lifted up from the earth, hung on the cross and gave up his life to save sinners, John 12:32  Therefore,  we pray that many should not perish, but come believing in Jesus Christ and have everlasting  life.  This invitation is extended to all non-believers for them to turn away from sin, look to the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved.  We pray also that all believers will be built up being conformed to the image of Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit.  Romans 8:28-30

We pray DailySpurgeon.com  will be  empowered by God, to save the lost and minister personal worship to the body of Christ in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ [The Messiah]. The Website  contains selections from the writings of Charles H. Spurgeon, Sermons from The Metropolitan Tabernacle  and sacred music. It includes Bible  scriptures, prayers, anecdotes, devotional thoughts, as well as the singing of Psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. …be filled with the Spirit; speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody [music] in your heart to the Lord; Ephesians 5:18-19

Lord, please strengthen, encourage and challenge all believers in the faith and draw unbelievers to yourself.

We pray for abundant and frequent harvests of souls and that all non-believers will repent and turn away from sin, look to the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved.  We pray that all believers remain faithful as we are being conformed to the image of Jesus Christ;  by the power of the Holy Spirit.  Romans 8:28-30

THE WINGS OF PRAYER

As men [and women] of business, as work-people, as parents, as children, as servants, as masters [teachers] , whatever we may be, may we be such that [The Lord Jesus] Christ may look upon us with pleasure. May His joy be in us, for then only can our joy be full. [In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ Amen.]

ANECDOTE 86: October 26th  Christ the Only Ark of Safety.

Some animals, like the camelopard,  [giraffe] whose heads are higher than other animals, might have to bow their necks to go in by the same entrance as the waddling ducks, who naturally stoop, even as they enter a barn; and so, some of the lofty ones of this world must bend down their stiff necks, and bow their proud heads, if they would enter into the church by [Jesus] Christ. Thus, again, the swift horse and the slow-paced snail must enter by one door; so, too, the scribes and Pharisees  must come in the same way as the publicans and harlots [prostitutes] , or be forever excluded.  All the beasts God had chosen went in by the one door and if any had stood without, and said, “We shall not come in that way”  they would have been standing without [outside] till the flood overtook and destroyed them; for there was only one door.

There is only one way of salvation, and there is only one means of getting into it.    “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved,”  but “he that believeth not, “whoever he be, must  “be damned.”  There is no hope of any other way of salvation. He that cometh in by the door shall be saved; and Jesus saith, [says]

“I am the door.”

FAITH’S CHECKBOOK  October 26th      BECAUSE OF US C.H. Spurgeon   1834-1892
-For the elects sake those days be shortened  –Matthew 24:22

-Por causa de los escogidos, aquellos dias seran acortados-  Mateo 24:22

For the sake of His elect the Lord withholds many judgments, and shortens others. In great tribulations the fire would devour all were it not that out of regard to His elect the Lord damps [turns down] the flame. Thus, while He saves His elect for the sake of Jesus, He also preserves the race for the sake of His chosen.

What an honor is thus [therefore]  put upon saints! How diligently they ought to use their influence with their Lord!  He will hear their prayers for sinners, and bless their efforts for their salvation.  He blesses believers that they may be a blessing to those who are in unbelief.

Many a sinner lives because of the prayers of a mother, or wife, or daughter, to whom the Lord has respect.  Have we used aright the singular power with which the Lord entrusts us?

Do we pray for our country, for other lands, and for the age [present times] ?  Do we, in times of war, famine, pestilence, stand out as intercessors, pleading that the days may be shortened?  Do we lament before God the outbursts of infidelity, error, and licentiousness [disregard of sexual restraint?] Do we beseech [beg for] our Lord Jesus to shorten the reign of sin by hastening His own glorious appearing? Let us get to our knees, and never rest till Christ appeareth [appears] .

Prayer: Thank You dear Lord that for the elects [our] sake You promise to shorten the days of affliction and withhold judgment toward nonbelievers. I am grateful for and humbled by the responsibility of this promise Lord Jesus. Please strengthen me today.

MORNING          October 26th

"Ye looked for much, and, lo, it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith the Lord of hosts. Because of mine house that is waste, and ye run every man unto his own house. "— Haggai 1:9
—Buscáis mucho, y halláis poco; y encerráis en casa, y soplo en ello. ¿Por qué? dice Jehová de los ejércitos. Por cuanto mi casa está desierta, y cada uno de vosotros corre á su propia casa
— Hageo 1:9.

A CHURLISH  [STINGY] soul stints [restricts] their contributions to the ministry and missionary operations and call such saving good economy; little do they dream that they are thus impoverishing themselves. Their excuse is that they must care for their own families, and they forget that to neglect the house of God is the sure way to bring ruin on their own houses.

Our God has a method in providence by which He can succeed our endeavors beyond our expectation or can defeat our plans to our confusion and dismay; by a turn of His hand He can steer our vessel in a profitable channel or run it aground in poverty and bankruptcy. It is the teaching of Scripture that the Lord enriches the liberal and leaves the miserly to find out that withholding tends to poverty.

In a very wide sphere of observation, I have noticed that the most generous Christians of my acquaintance have been always the most happy, and almost invariably the most prosperous. I have seen the liberal giver rise to wealth of which he never dreamed; and I have as often seen the mean, ungenerous churl [miser] descend to poverty in the very parsimony [frugality] by which he thought to rise. Men trust good stewards with larger and larger sums, and so it frequently is with the Lord; He gives by cartloads to those who give by bushels. Where wealth is not be stowed the Lord makes little into much through the contentment the sanctified heart feels because the tithe has been dedicated to the Lord.

Selfishness looks first at home, but godliness seeks first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.

Yet in the long run selfishness is loss, and godliness is great gain. It needs faith to act toward our God with an open hand, but surely He deserves it of us; and all that we can do is a very poor acknowledgment of our amazing indebtedness to His goodness.

 EVENING  October 26th

"All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again. "—Ecclesiastes 1:7

—Los ríos todos van á la mar, y la mar no se hinche; al lugar de donde los ríos vinieron,
allí tornan para correr de Nuevo—Eclesiastés 1:7

EVERYTHING sublunary [beneath the moon] is on the move; time knows nothing of rest. The solid earth is a rolling ball, and the great sun himself a star obediently fulfilling his course around some greater luminary [light]. Tides move the sea, winds stir the airy ocean, friction wears the rock: change and death rule everywhere. The sea is not a miser's storehouse for a wealth of waters, for as by one force the waters flow into it, by another they are lifted from it.

Men are born but to die: everything is hurry, worry, and vexation of spirit. Friend of the unchanging Jesus, what a joy it is to reflect on your changeless heritage; your sea of bliss will be forever full, since God Himself will pour eternal rivers of pleasure into it. We seek an abiding city beyond the skies, and we will not be disappointed.

The passage before us may well teach us gratitude.  Father Ocean is a great receiver, but he is a generous distributor. What the rivers bring him he returns to the earth in the form of clouds and rain. That man is out of joint with the universe who takes all but makes no return. To give to others is but sowing seed for ourselves. He who is so good a steward as to be willing to use his substance for his Lord shall be entrusted with more.

Friend of Jesus, are you rendering to Him according to the benefit received? Much has been given you, what is your fruit? Have you done all? Can you not do more? To be selfish is to be wicked. Suppose the ocean gave up none of its watery treasure, it would bring ruin on our race.

God forbid that any of us should follow the ungenerous and destructive policy of living unto ourselves. Jesus pleased not Himself. All fullness dwells in Him, but of His fullness have all we received.

0 for Jesus' spirit, that henceforth

we may live not unto ourselves!

SACRED LITERATURE:

ORIGINAL: The Pilgrim’s Progress  Pub. by Logos,1853 from 1678 Original by John Bunyan

REVISED TEXT by Barry E. Horner: The Pilgrim’s Progrefs [sic]...

in Pilgrim’s Progress. (Tthe World’s most widely circulated Allegory by John Bunyan, also credited, by some, as being the world’s first English novel.

IT’S FREE. No subscription required. You may choose to read at your own pace, or you may want to view DailySpugeon.com for daily encounters with Pilgrim.)

"Christ in us is Christ reigning." reminds me [Spurgeon's comment] of Mr. Bunyan’s picture of [the town of] Mansoul, …when the Prince Immanuel laid siege to it, and Diabolus from within the city strove to keep him out. It was a, hard time for Mansoul then; but when at last the battering rams had broken down the gates, and the silver trumpets sounded, and the prince’s captains entered the breach, then on a day the prince himself did ride down the city’s streets, while liberated citizens welcomed him with all their hearts, hung out all their streamers, and made the church towers rock again as the bells rang out merry peals [melody] , for the king himself was come. Up to the castle of the heart he rode in triumph, and took his royal throne to be henceforth the sole lord and king of the city.

Christ in you is a right royal word. Christ swaying his scepter from the center of your being over every power and faculty, desire and resolve, bringing every thought into captivity to himself, oh, this is glory begun, and the sure pledge of heaven. Oh for more of the imperial sovereignty of Jesus; it is our liberty to be absolutely under his sway.

ADULT AUDIO Episodes and CHILDREN’S VIDEO Story Parts:

You may choose to read or listen to Pilgrim’s Progress as a bed time story.

It’s the world’s most famous allegory and is the all-time, world-wide best seller second only to the Bible. Some believe it to be the world’s first novel written in English.

It will bless, encourage and instruct pilgrims (readers and seekers) of all ages for a life-time.

TODAY’S DEVOTION: Written and calendared by Charles Spurgeon for today’s date

PRAYER 13,   Part 7  of 11

THE WINGS OF PRAYER

As men [and women] of business, as work-people, as parents, as children, as servants, as masters [teachers] , whatever we may be, may we be such that [The Lord Jesus] Christ may look upon us with pleasure. May His joy be in us, for then only can our joy be full. [In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ Amen.]

(Attachment: PRAYER 13.doc)

ANECDOTE 86:  Christ the Only Ark of Safety.

“I am the door.”

allí tornan para correr de Nuevo—Eclesiastés 1:7

                  A  SINNER’S  PRAYER

Whosoever shall call on the name of the lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21

Pray and call on the name of the Lord Jesus, like this. Won’t you?

“Lord Jesus, I’m a sinner. I’m lost and hopeless to save myself. Without you and your blood that was shed for me and Your death on the cross  I would spend eternity in Hell’s fire.

Thank you Lord Jesus that You love me and died for me before I was born and that You have always loved me and will never reject or turn your back on me. I know You are the Way, the Truth and the Life and that no one can come to the Father but by You.

Thank you, Father that You have caused for me to see myself as I am; a lost sinner.  But,  because of Your love and goodness, You have made a way and given me the desire to come to You, to turn away from my sin and to trust in You, Lord Jesus.  You took my place on the cross and provided the way for  me to be forgiven. Thank You.
Thank You that You prompted a desire in me to believe in You, the only begotten  Son of God who died on the cross to be the sacrifice that would  atone for my sins.

Thank You, Father for Your love that allowed Jesus to suffer and die in my place. Thank You that You raised Jesus from the dead. He is RISEN and is ALIVE and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave and in Christ Jesus I am free.

You raised Jesus from the dead, gave Him a Glorified body and after he was seen by many witnesses on earth You took Him up to reign with You  in heaven.

Thank you, Father,  for saving me in the name, of Your only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Romans 6:11

Thank you, Holy Spirit, that you always give witness to and exalt the Lord Jesus Christ.
John 16:8-11

With all my heart, thank you Lord for saving me.
Live Your life in me,  Lord Jesus, in Your name I pray, Amen.

MISSION STATEMENT
Our solemn  aim is to trust and obey the Lord Jesus in everything. This  relies completely upon God to achieve His purpose for us through His means. We purpose, with God’s empowerment and  help,  to save the lost, comfort, strengthen and encourage believers, and  rightly divide God’s Word to proclaim the Gospel (Good News) of Jesus Christ to every creature.

The Holy Bible is God’s eternal, inerrant, infallible, immutable revealed and divinely preserved Word.  It is His supernatural, complete scripture  of all revealed truth.  He brings guidance through it to us personally and to each local body of Christian believers. With God’s empowerment, we will read, study, meditate-on, trust-in  and obey God’s Holy Bible and encourage others to do the same. We hold it to be the supreme authority and the preeminent and divinely established Stare Decisis [Latin: to stand by that which is decided, the legal principle of precedence,   literally "to stand by decided matters"] in all things.

Therefore, the purpose of The John Mark Publishing Company is to publish the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every creature. And, to serve all, in love,  especially those in the household of faith. This purpose compels us to follow, and rightly present, God’s Holy Word, the Bible as God’s divinely preserved truth; the foundation of this ministry.

Tabernacle History:
The  inspired preaching, teaching, soul winning and writings of Charles Haddon Spurgeon were solely based, empowered and inspired by God’s Holy Word the Bible.  His written sermons and devotional content continue to benefit today’s readers with authentic  Gospel preaching and sound biblical teaching. His ministry continues to flourish from the original (Spurgeon’s)  Metropolitan Tabernacle,  a church fellowship began in 1650 with the present  building constructed by members of the congregation in 1861 and rebuilt after the second world war..

Spurgeon's written materials are for the edification of the church body as well as a great benefit, blessing and challenge to all readers. Our desire is that the written Word of God will become the Living  Word in each and every reader. To this end, a calendar is indexed (top, right) on the Home page of DailySpurgeon.com for daily study, meditation and prayer. An unabridged and strictly maintained fidelity to Spurgeon’s original calendar and unabridged text is carefully guarded.

God has preserved His Word through  The Masoretic Hebrew and Aramaic languages of the Old Testament and the GreekTextus Receptus of the New Testament:

In contrast, the Incomplete and unsealed codices of Sinaiticus and Vaticanus are not translated from the  5,321 Majority Text Greek manuscripts, that became the Textus Receptus [Original Masoretic Hebrew and the Greek Textus Receptus].

The Sinaiticus and Vaticanus manuscripts  present variant readings rather than that of the well-established and settled majority Texts. They disagree often with one another as well as with the settled majority texts. Thus, an attempt to create a pretext that will continue to justify a never-ending demand for additional editions and interpretations. These unsettled differences and bias in certain sectarian doctrine [dogma] have led to the production of multiple “modern” editions with ambiguities, many variant readings and confusion from the explosion of unending, new editions.

Profit-driven publishers have embraced such an economic windfall to sell a continual flow of “new and better” English edition of The Bible. They give too little attention to the fidelity and accuracy already settled [in heaven] in majority manuscripts of the Masoretic Hebrew and the  Greek Textus Receptus.

Psalm 119:89-90

ל Lamed

89 Forever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.

90 Thy faithfulness is unto all generations:

thou hast established the earth, and it abideth. [abides]

God, Himself, providentially protects and preserves His Word. His Word is the God-breathed, self-authenticating, immutable [unchanging and unchangeable], eternal, inerrant, infallible, infinite and all-powerful Word, settled in heaven. He is not the author of confusion.

Our Prayer: Dear Lord, empower your ministry to win many souls, and serve those in need, especially those in the household of faith, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

Disclaimer: The John Mark Publishing Company does not solicit praise of Charles H. Spurgeon or his writing or preaching. He didn’t need or want it then and wouldn’t desire it now. Our aim is to lift up and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and to preach Christ Jesus only and him crucified.

Precaution: These Messages and prayers will not substitute for continual fellowship with the Lord Jesus or for gathering in in-person worship. Neither will they replace personal reading, meditation, prayer and fasting over God's divinely preserved and eternal Word imparted by the Holy Spirit.

The Authorized King James Version (AKJV), also known as the Authorized Version (AV), is the authentic English Bible because it is rendered [translated into English] accurately and faithfully from the established majority of the Greek Textus Receptus [received text] manuscripts of the New Testament and the Hebrew Masoretic Text of the Old Testament (The Jewish Tanakh)  These manuscripts are providentially protected of God, and always give a greater glory to God when compared to variant readings. The established majority manuscripts avoid doctrinal error, inaccuracies in translation, uninspired editorial notations, variant or ambiguous readings taken from Codices Vaticanus, or Sinaiticus.

The Authorized King James version is unique also in that the requirement of Great Brittan that all King James bibles be printed only by the Cambridge University Press, The Crown’s Authorized Printer. No other [person or publisher] may print, copy or import the King James Bible into Great Brittan by order of the Crown.

Printed Prayer: Printed prayers must not be read or offered as a substitute for personal, fervent, effectual, heart-felt, prayer. They are offered, rather, to warm the hearts of those who will presently seek a season of fervent, authentic two-way, heart-to-heart fellowship and prayer with the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. Authentic revelations from God during prayer are always consistent with His revealed Word, the Bible.

Preaching Preparation: When preparing to preach, please send us the text reference that has been chosen if you would like us to send the Spurgeon Sermon addressing the same text.

My Prayer is that You would touch, lift up, encourage and teach all who faithfully minister your Word. Bless all who minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ. May Your blessing and holy anointing fall fresh upon each dear reader and abide with each one who rightly divides and faithfully proclaims Your Word [The Bible]. Please save many souls; and may all be glory be yours alone. I pray this in the name of our Redeemer, The Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

These titles are from the inspired body of work created from the preaching and writing of Charles Haddon Spurgeon 1834-1892. He created an unexcelled  legacy of gospel preaching and exposition and is known as the “Prince of Preachers”.  Spurgeon has been and is today widely read with great benefit from the 1800’s to this present time. He is the beloved founder of the Metropolitan Tabernacle in London, England (Thriving TODAY through the faithful preaching of the Gospel and the Sacred Worship of Jesus the Christ [Messiah].)

Disclaimer: The John Mark Publishing Company does not praise or exalt  Charles H. Spurgeon beyond the honor due him. He didn’t need or want it when he was here on earth and has no need for it now, in Heaven. Our aim is to lift up and glorify the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and to preach HIM and Him crucified.

Precaution: These Devotional Messages and prayers alone can not substitute for continual fellowship with the Lord Jesus. Neither do they replace personal reading, meditation, prayer and fasting over God's divinely preserved and eternal Word. (The King James version (KJV), also known also as the Authorized Version (AKJV), is the preferred English Bible because its accuracy and fidelity to the Greek Textus Receptus [received text] and the Hebrew Masoretic Text) avoid doctrinal and editorial weakness found in many contemporary editions.

Written Prayers by Spurgeon must not be offered as a substitute for personal, intimate fervent, heart-felt, prayer. They are rather intended to warm the hearts of those who are seeking a season of authentic two-way, heart-to-heart  fellowship and prayer with the Father, His Son and the Holy Spirit.

The above link is to search for specific words or Scriptures in the King James inerrant and infallible  English Version  (KJV)  because it is providentially protected and preserved by GOD Himself through the only translation into English by faithful brethren from the 5,312 established majority text manuscripts MT from which the New Testament  Greek Textus Receptus [received text] was taken  and the Hebrew Masoretic Text of the Old Testament (Jewish Tanakh).  These manuscripts are providentially protected, and give greater glory to God when compared to the variant readings of all post KJV  translations. Modern Critical Texts are based on only 55 hand picked Greek manuscripts fabricated from either Westcott and Hort or Nestle and Aland. Both of these Greek textual sources make the assumption that OLDER IS BETTER. Of course, this assumption is not valid in any place   the older manuscripts err from the Textus Receptus..

The established majority manuscripts and the Textus Receptus avoid doctrinal error, and inaccuracies in translation, uninspired editorial notations, variant or ambiguous readings which taken from Codices Vaticanus, or Sinaiticus.

Copyright: The King James Version is also distinguished by the requirement of Great Brittan that all King James bibles be printed by the Cambridge University Press, the Crown’s authorized printer. No one other than the Crown’s printer, is allowed print, copy or import the King James Bible into Great Brittan by order of the Crown.

In the United States there is no Copyright protection to restrict the free printing of the KJV. It is the only Bible version that may be printed freely as Public Domain. Any  new publication that changes 10% or more of any existing  publication may procure a lucrative Copyright protection to restrict unauthorized printing of the new publication. Therefore,  the NKJV, NIV and many other modern  translations. Only the King James Version New Testament is unique from among the over 100 English translations that follow modern textual criticism and only the King James is faithfully translated from the well-established  Greek Textus Receptus as the  Primary time tested and self-authenticating Greek Source.

This video presents the truth  for those who seek to learn about and use the providentially protected, preserved and immutable Holy Bible that is both inerrant [without error] and infallible and gives God alone, the utmost praise, and the greatest glory due to HIMSELF. Praise and worship are rightfully insisted upon and commanded in God’s  inspired [God-Breathed (Spoken) Word from God himself.
HOLY WORDS  that were given by God through the Holy Ghost, word by word, to His  Holy Prophets and Apostles comprise all eternal Holy Scripture. (Matthew 5:18)

The inspired, god breathed, immortal words, were  uttered, word-by-word, to the  holy prophets and apostles who were chosen of God and moved by the holy ghost. These words are protected and preserved in holy scripture and are written word-by-word and are immutable, [unchangeable] without error, and infallible [incapable of making a mistake or being wrong]. and for ever [sic] settled in heaven by God himself in the self authenticating word of god, itself.

The complete Inside  Story of Westcott and Hort:

Brooke Foss Westcott and Fenton John Anthony Hort  (Text only)

URL:   https://www.febc.edu.sg/article/def_the_inside_story_of_westcott_and_hort

In 1870, The Anglican Church of England passed a resolution to revise the English Bible. The New Testament revision committee which finally consisted of 25 scholars (though only about 16 eventually attended the meetings) which included Westcott and Hort. The committee worked for ten years in the Jerusalem chamber, and these two scholars swept the Revision Committee along with them after work commenced. In fact, the “Cambridge trio” (Westcott, Hort and Lightfoot) colluded with others to dominate the meetings with their views of the text and to defeat any who opposed them. Their *letters reveal this conspiracy:

* Letters from close relatives are quoted in the Inside Story above

The only voice defending the Textus Receptus was Dr Scrivener, probably the foremost scholar of the day in the manuscripts of the Greek New Testament and the history of the Text. But he was systematically outvoted by the Cambridge trio and outdone by Hort’s powerful debating skill. When the revision was completed, the revision committee had altered the Greek Text in 5,337 places,

thus violating the original rule that had been set for the committee of not altering the Greek Text unless absolutely necessary to do so.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, let it be said that no matter how good any modern version of the New Testament is in other ways, it is clearly blemished if the work of Westcott and Hort or Nestle & Aland.is present in it. The presence of their work means that it is based on  defective text. Those who honor the Word of God must not promote any of these versions by the church, not because the content of the version is entirely  evil in itself, but because being contented to use a weakened version rather than the existing, preserved, inerrant unblemished one, dishonors God. If God has preserved for His people a good Greek text of the New Testament for 18 centuries, how dishonoring it must  be to Him if His people now chose versions that are  based on  the defective and inferior  Greek manuscript  invented  by Westcott & Hort or Nestle & Aland.

Let the biblical story of Nadab and Abihu be a lesson for us all:

And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not. And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD. Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the LORD spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace. And Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said unto them, Come near, carry your brethren from before the sanctuary out of the camp. So they went near, and carried them in their coats out of the camp; as Moses had said. And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not your heads, neither rend your clothes; lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the people: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the LORD hath kindled” (Lev 10:1–6).
