ALL SAINTS DAY, October 31st, has been a tradition celebration date for remembering and honoring departed Christian Saints.
It is also the date that Martin Luther nailed “ A Disputation on the Power and Efficacy of Indulgences”, this is the actual title of what became known as Martin Luther’s “95 Theses” to the Castle Church AKA All Saints Church in Wittenberg, Germany that brought charges against the Church’s practice of selling indulgencies. These 95 Theses are considered the beginning of and the catalyst for the Protestant Reformation.
It is also the date on which my Daddy was born in 1897. I give honor to Charles Dumah Riley; my Daddy to whom honor is due. I am so blessed to have been given to him and to my mother, Martha Eldora Bozeman born on April 27th 1900, who loved me and trained me up in the way I should go. Proverbs 22:6

Should DAILYSPURGEON be trusted? Is it trustworthy?
Is it of God?
Yes! Here’s why.
Beloved ones, don’t be believing every spirit [everyone or !everything] you hear but be testing the spirit [voice] whether it is of God: because many false prophets have gone [come] out into the world. Here’s how you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit [voice] that confesses [avows] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh, having come[who came] out of God, is of God: and every spirit that confesses not [doesn’t audibly avow] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
I hereby confess, audibly, that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh.
[All translations of the Bible that use any Greek text other than the traditional and faithful Textus Receptus ignore the word “ictin” [the Greek word for “is” in English]. This omission causes the meaning of “is here” to change from “is come” [is here] to “has come”.
This error is self-evident as non-believers, false prophets and heretics can, and frequently do, declare that He “has come” [in the flesh].
While this is a true statement, taken at face value, the meaning “has come” is clearly not the same as “is here” ; which is the valid, test of discernment between the Spirit of God and the spirit of antichrist.
The most well documented fact in all human history is that Jesus Christ [The Messiah] “has come” in the flesh. However, the question of greatest importance, is not whether the spirit [words or person] being considered and tested confesses that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh but, whether the confession being made affirms that Jesus Christ, “is come” [is here], from God, in the flesh.
30 for we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32
This is a great mystery: but I [Apostle Paul] speak concerning Christ and the church. [The body of CHRIST]

He’s alive today, has existed from eternity past to eternity future as God’s eternal, everlasting Word that has always existed as The Body of Christ [The Messiah]
and He’s returning soon for his bride, the Church.
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:
God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit,
believed on in the world, received up into glory. 1 Timothy 3:16

Our hearts would pause as we remember the greatness of each one of Thy [Your] favors, and we would say, “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name.” When we consider our utter unworthiness before conversion [when we were saved], and our great faultiness since, we can but admire the riches of abounding grace which You, God have manifested to us unworthy ones. Bless [You] Lord! And when we think of all that Thou hast [You have] promised to give, which our faith embraces as being really ours, since the covenant makes it sure, we know not how abundantly enough to utter the memory of Thy [Your] great goodness. We would make our praises equal to our expectations, and our expectations equal to Thy [Your] promises. We can never rise so high [as high as that]. ANECDOTE 92: November 1st Did Not Really Wish to Die.
A missionary told me the story of [Betsy] an old negro woman in Jamaica who used to be continually singing, “Angel Gabriel, come and take Aunty Betsy home to glory,” but when some wicked wag [prankster] knocked at the door at the dead of night, and told her the angel Gabriel was come for Aunty Betsy, she said, “She lives next door.”
I am afraid it may possibly be so with us, that though we think we wish the waves of Jordan to divide [so] that we may be landed on the other shore, we linger on the bank shivering still.

PERFECTION AND PRESERVATION

What will He do? He will sanctify us wholly. See the previous verse. He will carry on the work of purification till we are perfect in every part. He will preserve our whole spirit, and soul, and body, blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He will not allow us to fall from grace, nor come under the dominion of sin. What great favors are these!
Well may we adore the giver of such unspeakable gifts. Who will do this?
The Lord who has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light, out of death in sin into eternal life in Christ Jesus. Sing-along: Chosen Generation . Only He can do this: such perfection and preservation can only come from the God of all grace. Why will He do it? Because He is –faithful- . Faithful to His own promise which is pledged to save the believer; faithful to His Son, whose reward it is that His people shall be presented to Him faultless; faithful to the work which He has commenced [begun] in us by our effectual calling.
It is not their [our] own faithfulness, but the Lord’s own faithfulness, on which the saints [redeemed believers] rely. Come, my soul, here is a grand feast to begin a dull month with.
There may be fog without, [on the outside] but there should be sunshine within.
Thank You Lord that You are faithful to perfectly fulfill all Your promises. Thank You that you will sustain my life [and the life of all believers] until the work you’re doing through us is complete. Help me to be obedient and faithful to Your calling everyday. I pray this in the name of the Lord Jesus, Amen.

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten [supernaturally fathered] Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but may have everlasting life.

vis. The Textus Receptus TR [Received Text] was faithfully rendered and is in overwhelming agreement among the majority of the 5,321 extant New Testament, Greek manuscripts known as the MT. [Majority Text] from which the Textus Receptus is taken. The Hebrew and Aramaic manuscripts were meticulously copied by hand [manuscript] by the Masoretic scribes. These are the manuscripts from which the Old Testament is translated.
To produce a Modern Criticism of the Traditional Greek text only Fifty-five manuscripts from the 5,321 were hand-picked from the inferior Sinaiticus and Vaticanus codices. These manuscripts contain variant readings and were hand-picked to replace the Textus Receptusneed for an alternative Greek text to the Textus Receptus. The Textus Receptus that was under attack by Westcott & Hort and Nestle & Aland for many years.
The Codices known as Sinaiticus and Vaticanus are inferior as they often are in disagreement with one another. They have been infused with invented Greek text where no Greek text from the Fifty-five hand-picked manuscripts existed.
The writers of the Greek of Modern Textual Criticism invented but did not disclose themselves as the source of the new Greek translation. They supplied this new Greek translation to all Committee members with the aim to revise the King James Bible. However, They insisted on a code of silence as to the authorship of the Greek Text from which all the Revisions were to be based. All members of the committee were required to agree to this code.
Modern textual criticism is based on the assumption that older manuscripts are, de-facto, more accurate. Actually, the continuous and unsettled changes from their variant readings reflect error, doctrinal ambiguities and biases not supported by the Majority Text.
Scripture based on The Greek text of Westcott & Hort and Nestle & Aland of a secular or denominational tradition allow modern textual criticism to rob God of His Sovereignty, Omnipotence, Omnipresence, Immutability, Inerrancy and Infallibility and to diminish Glory from His infinite and everlasting “I AM” that deserves and demands ALL GLORY.
MORNING November 1st
"The Church in thy house. "— Philemon 1:2

IS there a Church in this [your] house? Are parents, children, friends, servants [maids and gardeners] , all members of it? Or are some still unconverted [nonbelievers]? Let us pause here and let the question go [a]round [to each household member] —Am I a member of the Church in this house? How father's heart would leap for joy and mother's eyes fill with holy tears if from the eldest to the youngest all were saved! Let us pray for this great mercy until the Lord grants it to us.
Probably it had been the dearest object of Philemon's desires to have all his household [housekeepers, etc.] saved; but it was not at first granted him in its fullness.
He [Philemon], had a wicked servant, Onesimus, who, having wronged him ran away from his service. His master's prayers followed him, and at last, as God would have it, Onesimus was led to hear Paul preach; his heart was touched, and he returned to Philemon, not only to be a faithful servant, but a brother beloved, adding another member to the Church in Philemon's house.
Is there an unconverted servant or child absent this morning? Make special supplication [pray fervently] that such may, on their return to their home, gladden [make glad] all hearts with good news of what [the] grace [of God] has done! Is there one present? Let him partake in the same earnest entreaty [request].
If there be such a Church in our house, let us order [manage] it well, and let all act [behave] as in the sight of God. Let us move in the common affairs of life with studied holiness, diligence, kindness, and integrity.
More is expected of a Church than of an ordinary household; family worship must, in such a case, be more devout and hearty; internal love must be more warm and unbroken, and external conduct must be more sanctified and Christ-like.
We need not fear that the smallness of our number will put us out of the list of Churches, for the Holy Spirit has here enrolled a family church in the inspired book of remembrance.
As a Church let us now draw nigh to the great Head [Jesus Christ] of the one Church universal [the body of all true believers], and let us beseech [earnestly ask] Him to give us grace to shine before men to the glory of His name.
EVENING November 1st

UNIVERSAL was the doom, neither rich nor poor escaped: the learned [educated] and the illiterate, the admired and the abhorred, the religious and the profane, the old and the young, all sank in one common ruin [doomed]. Some had doubtless ridiculed the patriarch—where now their merry jests? [Who’s laughing now?]
Others had threatened him for his zeal which they counted madness—where now their boastings and hard speeches? [Where was their bragging now?] The critic who judged the old man's work [building the ark] is drowned in the same sea which covers his sneering companions. Those who spoke patronizingly of the good man's fidelity to his convictions [steadfastness in his beliefs], but shared not in them, have sunk to rise no more. And the workers who for pay helped to build the wondrous ark are all lost also. The flood swept them all away and made no single exception.
Even so, out of Christ, [unbelievers] final destruction is sure to everyone born of woman; no rank, possession, or character shall suffice to save a single soul who has not believed in the Lord Jesus.
My soul, [Oh my!] behold this wide spread judgment and tremble at it.
How marvelous the general apathy [lack of interest]! They were all eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, till the awful morning dawned [came]. There was not one wise man on earth [who was] out of the ark.
Folly duped [lied and cheated] the whole race, folly as to self-preservation—the most foolish of all follies. Folly in doubting the most true God— [the most malignant of fooleries. Strange, my soul, is it not? All men are negligent of their souls until grace gives them reason, then they leave their madness and act like rational beings, but not until then.
All, blessed be God, were safe in the ark, no ruin entered there. From the huge elephant down to the tiny mouse, all were safe. The timid hare [rabbit] was equally secure with the courageous lion, the helpless cony [rabbit] as safe as the laborious ox. All are safe in Jesus.

Such ministry is still flourishing in London at (Spurgeon’s) Metropolitan Tabernacle the church constructed for the 6,000 member Spurgeon congregation in the 1800's. Our effort here is to increase the publication, circulation and use of Spurgeon's materials for the benefit of the church body as well as all other readers. To this end we have arranged a daily Table of Contents and have added brief annotations [shown in brackets] while maintaining a strict fidelity to the original and unabridged text.

A SINNER’S PRAYER:
Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21

“Lord Jesus, I’m a lost sinner hopeless without You. I would never be able to save myself. Without your death on the cross to pay my sin debt I would be condemned to spend eternity condemned in Hell. By nature and practice I am a natural-born sinner. I’m totally depraved and I sin because I am a sinner. Please forgive me.
I realize that doing my best or being as good as possible, or being better than other people or having good excuses can never save me.
I look to You, alone Lord Jesus to save me.
I call on You, by name, Lord Jesus, right now to save me. You died on the cross in my place to pay for my sin. Your Word says, “It shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21. Thank You, Lord.
Right now, I surrender my sinful self to You, just as I am, Lord Jesus. I trust You to forgive me and save me and be my Lord and Savior.
Please forgive me for all my sins. I’m sorry for every sin (bad thoughts, words and things I have done) and look to You to forgive me of them all. I need your strength to overcome sin’s temptations. Thank you for forgiving me.

Thank you Lord Jesus that You loved me and died for me before I was born and that You love me still.
Thank you Heavenly Father that You have made the way of redemption, forgiveness and atonement for me and have drawn me away from sin and death into Life in Your only begotten son. He took my place and suffered my punishment.
Thank You, Heavenly Father that you raised Jesus from the dead. He is ALIVE and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave. In Christ Jesus there is therefore now no condemnation.
Thank You for saving me heavenly Father and for sending the Holy Spirit for my guidance, comfort and solemn instruction into all truth, Amen.”

"Christ in us is Christ reigning." reminds me [Spurgeon's comment] of Mr. Bunyan’s picture of [the town of] Mansoul, …when the Prince Immanuel laid siege to it, and Diabolus from within the city strove to keep him out. It was a, hard time for Mansoul then; but when at last the battering rams had broken down the gates, and the silver trumpets sounded, and the prince’s captains entered the breach, then on a day the prince himself did ride down the city’s streets, while liberated citizens welcomed him with all their hearts, hung out all their streamers, and made the church towers rock again as the bells rang out merry peals [melody] , for the king himself was come. Up to the castle of the heart he rode in triumph, and took his royal throne to be henceforth the sole lord and king of the city.
Christ in you is a right royal word. Christ swaying his scepter from the center of your being over every power and faculty, desire and resolve, bringing every thought into captivity to himself, oh, this is glory begun, and the sure pledge of heaven. Oh for more of the imperial sovereignty of Jesus; it is our liberty to be absolutely under his sway.
