Who is Charles Haddon Spurgeon?

…an introduction

The inspired preaching, teaching and writings  of Charles Haddon Spurgeon were bedrock solid on God’s revealed Word, the Bible.  His written publications continue to benefit readers through authentic Gospel preaching and sound biblical teaching. His ministry continues to flourish from the  Metropolitan Tabernacle,   (Brief History) a church begun in 1650. The building was constructed by members of the congregation in 1861. It continues to thrive and flourish today.

Charles Haddon Spurgeon’s Conversion   in 1850  in his own words.

All Bible versions NOT  translated from the Textus Receptus [The (traditional) Received Greek Text] include variant  readings that diminish the full  glory and the most Holy reverence due to Almighty GOD, that He preserves and protects it and it’s  immutably  in the 1769 Edition of the 1611 King James Version  KJV Bible. This version is also known as the Authorized King James  Version  AKJV and the  Authorized Version AV.  ALL GLORY is due to and must be given to the Omnipotent Lord of ALL.

The Geneva Bible was also faithfully translated from the Greek Textus Receptus and included  comments favorable to the Protestant Reformation  from inspired, devoted,  faithful Christian men of GOD; They were Puritan Believers known to be  beyond reproach.

This Bible was first brought to Plymouth Massachusetts  in the American Colonies by the Puritan Pilgrims guided by Captain Christopher Jones’s on the Mayflower sailing ship in 1620. A 1592 Edition of the Geneva Bible that belonging to a Mayflower passenger and the Governor of the Plymouth Colony (Later to become the State of   Massachusetts) by William Bradford and is on display at the Pilgrim Hall Museum in Plymouth, Massachusetts, the oldest continuously operating public museum in the United States.

The traditional Textus Receptus [Received Greek Text] unlike any other Greek Text was taken  from more than 5,321 original Majority Greek Manuscripts MT that agree 98% with one another. Other variant readings are translations invented by  either Westcott and Hort or Nestle and Aland. These fabricated Greek Texts were translated from only a handful [45] of Majority Text Manuscripts MT and  lack the  trustworthiness of  the inspired 1769 [1611] King James Version, KJV or the Geneva Bible and are the only two translations of the traditional, reliable, inspired, [GOD BREATHED] immutable and providentially and divinely protected Textus Receptus.

Bridge to Babylon The 1881 Textual Criticism Controversy

(1) URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIC5rUbs_-E&t=9s
             (169 mins.)

The Bridge to Babylon video presents evidence that tracks the explosion of more than 100 new versions of English translations  of the Bible. The continuing attempts to replace, add or take away from the 1769 King James Version of the Holy Bible does not  prevail because GOD Himself preserves and protects The  inspired, inerrant, immutable and infallible  Holy Word of GOD from all heresy, blasphemy, confusion , errors, additions, subtractions or changes.

*A.D. does NOT mean “After Death” as many mistakenly believe. It is Latin for Anno Domini,  a  phrase adopted into English usage that means  “Year of [the/our] Lord”.  The complete  original phrase "anno Domini nostri Jesu Christi" means "in the year of our Lord Jesus Christ”. A.D. and together with B.C. Before Christ   is used to divide all history before and after the birth of Jesus the Christ [Messiah].   ...More

Can   DAILYSPURGEON  be trusted? Is it trustworthy?

Is it of God?

YES, it can!    Yes, it is!     Here’s why.

1 John 4:1-3

Beloved ones, don’t be believing every spirit [everyone or !everything] you hear but be testing the spirit [voice] whether it is of God: because many false prophets have gone [come] out into the world. Here’s how you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit [voice] that confesses [avows] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh, having come[who came] out of God, is of God: and every spirit that confesses not [doesn’t audibly avow] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

I therefore must and do audibly confess,  that Jesus Christ is come  [is here]  in the flesh.

[All translations of the Bible that use a Greek text other than the traditional and faithful Textus Receptus ignore the Greek word “ictin” [the Greek word that means “is” in English].  This omission causes the meaning of “is here” to  be changed from “is” come” [is here] to “has” come”.

This error is self-evident because non-believers, false prophets, atheists or heretics can, and frequently do, affirm that Jesus Christ “has come” [in the flesh].

While this is a true statement, when taken at face value, the  meaning of  “has come” is clearly not the same as “is here”; which is the valid, scriptural test of  discernment to know if words are from the Spirit of God or the spirit of antichrist.

The most well documented fact in all of human history is that the Lord Jesus Christ [The Messiah]  “has” come in the flesh. However, the question of much greater importance,  is not whether the spirit [a spoken or written word] being considered and tested confesses that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh but, whether the confession being made affirms that Jesus Christ, “is come” [is here], from God, in the flesh.

Compare and consider [Meditate upon] scripture with scripture:  Precept upon precept, Line upon line…
Isaiah 28:10-14

Ephesians 5:30-32

For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

32 This is a great mystery: but I [The Apostle Paul]  speak concerning Christ and the church.  [The body and Bride of CHRIST]

“I speak concerning Christ and the church.” [the fleshly embodiment, here and now ,  of the body of Christ]. Because  followers of Jesus Christ are members of the incarnate Body of Christ [The Church] I affirm and avow that Jesus Christ is here

[Not “Has come”] in the flesh.

DAILY SPURGEON    December 17th    *A.D. 2025

Rejoice In The LORD Always  tap and sing, won’t you?  Philippians 4:4

…and rejoice that the LORD  has provided  dailyspurgeon.com  to continue, Lord willing, to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the e-mail ministry, inspired by Jon Edward Riley (1971- 2021) and the many that he invited.

BEST ENGLISH TRANSLATION OF THE BIBLE:

GOD’S HOLY WORD is (Immutable, [unchanging over time, unable to mutate or to be changed],  inspired, [God breathed], Self-Authenticating [. Providentially Protected and Preserved and Forever Settled in Heaven, Psalm 119:89) The Authorized King James Bible. AKA The Authorized Version, AV.

Is It The Best?   David Hocking

David’s Summary  (8 min.) The problem is not English, but which Greek text was used to render the English translation.

1 John 4:1-3

(AKJV) Translation From Textus Receptus:  The Ultimate Stare Decisis [to stand by things decided]

Psalm 119:89  ל   (Lamed)  For ever, O  Lord, thy word is settled in heaven.

Beloved ones, don’t be believing every spirit [everyone or everything] you hear but be testing the spirit [voice] whether it is of God: because many false prophets have gone out into the world. Here’s how you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit [voice] that confesses [avows] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh, having come[who came] from God, is of God:  and every spirit that confesses [avows] not that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit [voice] of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Therefore, I hereby confess that “Jesus Christ is here, from God, in the flesh.”

[English translations of the Bible that use Greek manuscripts other than the Textus Recptus render the English text to be  “Has come”.

Translations from such manuscripts do not consider  “ictin”  (The Greek word for is)  and therefore fail to correctly render it, “Is come” [Is Here].  (AKJV)

This  error is evident, also,  because non-believers and false prophets can, and sometimes do,  make the confession that He “has come” in the flesh. This is not surprising because the birth of Jesus Christ is arguably the most well documented fact in all of recorded history.  Indeed, Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. While this is true, discernment could scarcely be ascertained as to whether the spirit [words] being tested can be discerned to be either from God or from the antichrist.  While its  true that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh, it is of crucial importance, to hear (and make) the confession that Jesus Christ, “is here,  from God, in the flesh.”

By reading and meditating on Scripture in view of all other relevant Scripture, God’s Word  is self-authenticated:

1 John 4:1-3 with Ephesians 5:30-32

30 for we are members of his [Jesus Christs’]  body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

[We are members of His body, flesh and bones, one flesh with Him, as the church].

He was born of a virgin 2025 years ago, lives today,

and is coming soon for His bride; the Church.

"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:

God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit,

believed on in the world, received up into glory."
1 Timothy 3:16

It’s the heart’s desire of every believer to worship God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, in Spirit and in truth.

“Study to show yourself approved unto God, a worker that needs not be ashamed, rightly dividing [accurately preaching] the word of truth.”    2 Timothy 2:15

To this end, Heavenly Father, we pray that You will bless all who visit this website bringing  many to the Lord Jesus Christ.  We ask this in Jesus’ name and for His sake, Amen.

This website  does not replace nor can it be a substitute for in-person meeting and assembling of ourselves together. Hebrews 10:23-27

Rather, it’s purpose is to save lost sinners and to build up and encourage believers through God’s Word and prayer seeking fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ [Messiah]in personal discipleship, worship  to the Lord Jesus as we are conformed to His image.  “For whom God did foreknow he did also predestinate to be conformed to the image of his son…” Romans 8:29

We, as the redeemed.  are scripturally instructed to assemble,  praise and worship God in the worship of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ and for exhorting and provoking one another to good works.

Such worship may be encouraged through, congregational singing of sacred hymns and spiritual songs, reading, preaching and heeding God’s Word, sharing Christian love and fellowship, agreeing together  in offered [public] prayer, and considering and exhorting one another in the Word, provoking one another unto love and good works and bearing witness with one another in the Holy Ghost.

Admonition: Online streaming does not satisfy physical, in-person assembly. Electronic media can not substitute for  physical inter-personal fellowship, commitment, or vulnerability, nor does it allow for the kind and comforting touch of another person.  e.g. Laying on of hands, 1 Timothy 4:14;  the right hands of Christian fellowship, Galatians 2:9; or an embrace, Acts 20:1; or greeting with a holy kiss,

1 Thessalonians 5:26.

We give thanks to the Lord, for DailySpurgeon.com  , a website for building up fully devoted followers of the Lord Jesus Christ who are taught and teach others to be disciples and we pray that it will forever  be an instrumentality of God to share the gospel, encourage believers and  conform all believers  to the very image of Jesus Christ.

This ministry was begun as daily e-mails of Faith’s Checkbook by Charles H. Spurgeon were sent to Jon Edward Riley.  Jon shared this with others and added many to this mailing list as he shared  his testimony with them.

Jon was called home by his loving Father in Heaven on January 16, 2021 leaving the legacy of this Website to minister to all who will  perpetuate this labor of Love to the glory of God.  And His Eternal Kingdom; The greatest Glory possible ALL belongs to God, alone.

Jon’s honor, is acknowledged  here; giving honor to whom honor is due.  Romans 13:7

We pray that many will be born again, challenged, encouraged, and built-up to become fully devoted followers of the Lord Jesus Christ; being conformed to His image; that they might be the firstborn among many brethren.  Romans 8:28-29.

Jon loved to say, “I’m a blood-bought, born-again Child of God!” to anyone he happened to meet or anyone who would listen.

… Jon’s  testimony lives on from one who, by grace, through faith was forever accepted in the Beloved; who’s loving ways brought the good news of Jesus to many. and one who is now present with the LORD  in glory forever.  One who, one day, we’ll  meet again.
Amen.

Jon  would sometimes just sing-out some of the following songs on the way to church, or sometimes just singing along with the Elvis Gospel CD that was always in our F-150’s CD player while riding with his Dad or,

Best of all, when  an inspired,  spontaneous praise from the Lord would just pop out from his joyful, creative, redeemed and loving heart.

*I Can Only Imagine being present with the LORD,  or hearing the completed song the Lord completed with Jon when he arrived; a song known only to the Lord,  to Jon and the few who heard Jon sing it here. Lyrics remembered  from him singing:   "See my Jesus, Walkin' on duh Waduh"…  an original, inspired song from our beloved  Jon, himself a true and renown original.

It’s also my sincere  message of love to all  my children, grand-children and great grand-children etc..

…Jon would always say “Later”; [as in, see-ya later] instead of “good bye”.  It was his only farewell greeting when parting company with a friend; and, everyone was Jon’s friend.

… He would never  say “good-bye”.

Now, as we remember the sound of him saying “Later”, it rings true in a  new and deeper meaning and it brings a joy and comfort to the hearts of those whom he loved so well; those who love him still and will forever more.

… and how much sweeter to us now, are the promises in these two Hymns:

’Till We Meet Again. (sing along, won’t you?)

God Appeals to Reason  December 11th  Isaiah 30:15-21       with Dr. Peter Masters

Before conversion, the claims of God mean nothing to us, but when God's Word speaks to our hearts, the challenge becomes inescapable. Self-searching begins, and the kindness of God's forgiving love is grasped as never before. Here is God's reasoning with souls.

Sanctification (purification, consecration and commitment) by the Word is the will of Christ for His own, and here we turn to the first three of the Ten Commandments to challenge our souls. How should these be applied today in our lives and churches?

Closeness to Christ    2 Timothy 2:10-12   Dr.  Peter Masters

In this hostile world, believers cannot live successfully and fruitfully without Christ being with their spirits. Here is why the soul is also called the spirit, and what it means for Christ to be with our spirit. Examples and counsels for securing His nearness.

What Is the Gospel  December 11th by the late Dr. R. C. Sproul
Christians are called to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but in our day there is confusion about the content of the Gospel. The biblical Gospel is challenged not only by Roman Catholics and liberals, but by those who claim to be evangelical. In this lecture, Dr. R. C. Sproul will clarify exactly what the Gospel is and what it is not.

The Phenomenon of Love December 11th   Isaiah 63.7   Dr. Peter Masters
The nature and scope of human love is impressive, but Divine love, made visible in history and, supremely in the atoning sacrifice of Christ, is limitless, freely bestowed and certain toward all who find Him. Here are the 'loving-kindnesses of the Lord' they experience.
Living for the Flesh or for the Spirit December 11th   Romans 8.5-6     Dr. Peter Masters
There are two classes of people in the Bible, those who focus on 'the flesh', and those who relate to the Spirit. Here are the characteristics and goals of each, and how God can free us from the captivity of flesh to know communion with Himself.
Mutual Debts in Marriage December 11th    1 Corinthians 7:3    Dr. Peter Masters  15 January 2012
A key word has slipped out of some modern translations – the marital debt of benevolence, meaning goodwill and kind benefits. Here are seven debts each has to the other in Christian marriage, a sevenfold bond and blessing to the crowning earthly friendship of life’s journey, are we paying what is ‘due’?

God’s Order for Man and Women   December 11th  1 Corinthians Ch 11   Dr. Peter Masters
Paul answers the question on the roles of husbands and wives and affirms conformity to the dress code of head coverings in Greek society at that time. With Calvin and major confessions we show that the ‘message’ of clothing may change in other ages and lands.

Things Only Believers See   December 11th  1 Corinthians 2:9   Dr. Peter Masters
Sunday Morning 13 February 2022
The apostle impresses upon us the spiritual blindness of the unconverted state to the wonders revealed in the Gospel, including future glories (described here). Here also is the meaning of 'comparing spiritual things with spiritual,'   judging all things and living the mind of Christ

In the building of a spiritual family the work of the Holy Spirit is the vital power. Here several Holy Spirit verses in Ephesians are explored (including 'Be filled with the Spirit') to show the different activities of the Spirit in the Christian life.

The True Source of Power     December 11th 1 Corinthians 1.10   Dr. Peter Masters
Sunday Morning 23 January 2022
For the Gospel to be credible, (the Corinthians [and many today] erroneously taught), we need  conspicuous personalities or preachers. Here Paul proclaims the true source of spiritual power, the preaching of the cross of Christ, and why it is foolishness to the perishing and power to the saved.

A SINNER’S PRAYER  December 17th

PRAYER 19, Part 7 of  11 December 17th    GOD’S UNSPEAKABLE GIFT.

Lord, send Thy life throughout the entire Church. Lord, visit Thy [Your] Church, restore sound doctrine, restore holy and earnest living. Take away from professors [church members] their apparent love for frivolities, [frivolous things] their attempts to meet the world on its own ground, and give back the old love to the doctrines of the cross, the doctrines of the Christ [The Messiah] of God; and once more may free grace and dying love be the music that shall refresh the Church, and make her heart exceeding glad.

[We ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.]

ANECDOTE 137: December 17th      Man’s Convert, Not Christ’s.

You have heard Mr. [Rowland] Hill’s story of meeting a man in the street one night, who hic-cuped [he had been drinking] up to him and said, “How do you do, Mr. Hill ? I am one of your converts.”  “Yes,”  said Rowland,  “I should say you are, but you are none of God’s, or else you would not be drunk.” Converts of that sort are far too numerous.

FAITH’S CHECKBOOK     December 17th   NEAREST AND DEAREST FELLOWSHIP

- Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:   and …so shall we ever be with the Lord-   1 Thessalonians 4:17
-Luego nosotros, los que vivimos, los que quedamos, juntamente con ellos seremos arrebatados en las nubes a recibir al Senor en el aire, y así estaremos siempre con el Senor-  1 Tesalonicenses 4:17

While we are here [on earth] the Lord is with us, and when we are called away we are with Him. There is no dividing [separating] the saint from His Savior. They are one, and they always must be one: Jesus cannot be without His own people, for He would be a Head without a body. Whether caught up into the air, or resting in Paradise, or sojourning [journeying] here, we are with Jesus; and who shall separate us from Him?  What a joy is this! Our supreme honor, rest, comfort, [and] delight, is to be with the Lord. We cannot conceive of anything which can surpass or even equal this divine society [fellowship]. By holy fellowship we must be with Him in His humiliation, rejection, and travail [toil, labor, work], and then we shall be with Him in His glory.

Before long, we shall be with Him in His rest and in His royalty, in His expectation and in His manifestation. We shall fare as He fares [do as well as He does], and triumph as He triumphs.  O my Lord, if I am to be for ever with thee, I have a destiny incomparable. I will not envy an archangel. To be forever with the Lord is my idea of Heaven at its best. Not the harps of gold, nor the crowns unfading, nor the light unclouded, is glory to me;  but Jesus,  Jesus Himself, and myself forever with Him in nearest and dearest fellowship.

Prayer:  Thank You Lord Jesus that when You come again, we will be raptured to meet You in the air and have eternal fellowship with You in Your presence thereafter.  I believe that You are coming again Lord Jesus, Amen.

… and pray for souls to be saved and believers to be strengthened in The Lord who

… is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.    2 Peter 3:9

Pray also that believers, taught by the Holy Spirit will rightly divide God’s authentic providentially preserved Word; preserved by God, Himself.

John 3:16
God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten [supernaturally fathered] Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but may be having eternal life.

vis. Textus Receptus [The Received Greek Text] (From an overwhelming majority of extant New Testament Greek manuscripts)

The Incomplete codices Sinaiticus and Vaticanus are not included in the majority texts [Masoretic and Textus Receptus]. They present variant and ambiguous readings from that of  the overwhelmingly well-established majority texts.  They disagree often with one another as well as with the settled majority texts thus, providing a pretext attempting to justify the need for additional translations.  These unsettled differences and bias toward certain sectarian doctrine [dogma] have produced ambiguities, many variant readings and confusion from the explosion of unending, new translations.

Publishers are driven by profit in selling the unending “new and better” English translations of The Bible, [World’s best seller of all time] with too little attention for maintaining the fidelity and accuracy already settled from the majority manuscripts of the Masoretic Hebrew and the Textus Receptus Greek.

God, Himself, has always providentially preserved His God-breathed, self-authenticating, immutable [unchanging and unchangeable], eternal, inerrant, infallible, infinite and all-powerful Word.

God is not the author of confusion. 1 Corinthians 14:33

 MORNING    December 17th

"I remember thee. "— Jeremías 2:2

—Heme acordado de ti¾ Jeremías 2:2

LET us note that Christ delights to think of His Church and to look on her beauty. As the bird returns often to its nest and as the wayfarer [traveler] hastens [hurries] to his home, so does the mind continually pursue the object of its choice [We think about what’s important to us]. We cannot look too often on that face which we love; we desire always to have our precious things in our sight. It is even so with our Lord Jesus.

From all eternity "His delights were with the sons of men." His thoughts rolled onward to the time when His elect  [future believers] should be born into the world; He viewed them in the mirror of His foreknowledge.

"In Thy book," He says, "all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them" (Psalm 139:16). When the world was set on its pillars He was there and He set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel.

Many a time before His incarnation, He descended to this lower earth in the likeness of a man; on the plains of Mamre (Genesis 18:1),  by the brook of Jabbok (Genesis 32:24-30), beneath the walls of Jericho (Joshua 5:13), and in the fiery furnace of Babylon (Daniel 3:19, 25) the Son of Man visited His people. Because His soul delighted in them He could not rest  [be content]  away from them, for His heart longed after them.

Never were they absent from His heart, for He had written their names on His hands and graven [engraved] them on His side. As the breastplate containing the names of the tribes of Israel was the most brilliant ornament worn by the high priest, so the names of Christ's elect were His most precious jewels, and glittered on His heart.

We may often forget to meditate on the perfections of our Lord, but He never ceases to remember us.  Let us chide [rebuke] ourselves for past forgetfulness and pray for grace ever to [always] bear Him in fondest remembrance.

Lord, paint the image of your Son on the eyeballs of my soul.

EVENING  December 17th
"I am the door: by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. "— John 10:9
—Yo soy la puerta: el que por mí entrare, será salvo; y entrará, y saldrá, y hallará pastos— Juan 10:9

JESUS, the great  I AM,  and the entrance into the true church, and the access to GOD Himself. He gives to the man who comes to God by Him four choice privileges

He shall be saved. The fugitive manslayer passed [into] the gate of the city of refuge, and was safe. Noah entered the door of the ark, and was secure. None who take Jesus as the door of faith to their souls can [ever] be lost. Entrance through Jesus into peace is the guarantee of entrance by the same door into heaven. Jesus is the only door, an open door, a wide door, a safe door; and blessed is he who rests all his hope of admission into glory on the crucified Redeemer. [the Lord Jesus Christ]

  1. He shall go in. He shall be privileged to go in among the divine family, sharing the children's bread, and participating in all their honors and enjoyments. He shall go into the chambers of communion, to the banquets of love, to the treasures of the covenant, to the storehouses of the promises. He shall go in unto the King of kings in the power of the Holy Spirit, and the secret of the Lord shall be with him.

  2. He shall go out. This blessing is much forgotten. We go out into the world to labor and suffer, but what a mercy to go in the name and power of Jesus!

We are called to bear witness to the truth, to cheer the disconsolate, to warn the careless, to win souls, and to glorify God; and as the angel said to Gideon, "Go in this thy might," even thus the Lord would have us proceed as His messengers in His name and strength.

  3. He shall find pasture. He who knows Jesus shall never want [have any unsatisfied need]. Going in and out shall be alike helpful to him: in fellowship with God he shall grow, and in watering others he shall be watered. Having made Jesus his all, he shall find all in Jesus.

  4.   His soul shall be as a watered garden, and as a well of water whose waters fail not.

Cast your cares on the Lord…

  1. Call on Him. As for me, I will call upon God; and the Lord shall save me.. ...Psalm 55:16

  2. Trust Him. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass ... Psalm 37:5

  3. Come to Him. Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest..  Matthew 11:28

  4. Give Him the burden.  Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. Psalm 55:22]

 MISSION PURPOSE:

Our aim is to faithfully follow the Lord Jesus Christ. We rely upon the Holy Spirit to impart God’s  divine revelation to us from His Word, the Holy Bible.  We trust that lost souls will be saved, and that believers will be comforted, strengthened and encouraged to  God’s glory.

Divine Scripture is God’s infinite, eternal, inerrant, infallible, immutable revelation to all mankind.  This divine, supernatural Word brings all revealed truth to the world. It is God-breathed [inspired] , self-authenticating and providentially protected to endure forever.  We purpose, therefore, to rightly divide and follow God’s Holy Word in all things.  Personal and corporate guidance come by His Word to the local church

So, we resolve, God helping us, to read, study, meditate-on, trust-in  and obey God’s revealed and divinely preserved Word,  holding it to be the supreme authority and only divinely established Stare Decisis [Latin: to stand by that which is decided] in all things.

Therefore, the purpose of The John Mark Publishing Company is to publish and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every creature, ministering God’s love to all, especially those in the household of faith.  The Bible is God’s everlasting, inspired, (God breathed) inerrant, infallible, unchangeable, divinely protected and preserved Word of love and salvation to the entire world.

It is also the essence and  foundation of this ministry to encourage devotional growth.

Prayer: Dear Lord, empower your ministry to win many souls, and serve those in need, especially those in the household of faith, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

Disclaimer: The John Mark Publishing Company does not solicit praise of  Charles H. Spurgeon or his writing or preaching.  He didn’t need or want it then and wouldn’t desire it now.  Our aim is to lift up and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and to preach Him only, and him crucified.
Precaution: These Messages and prayers will not substitute for continual fellowship with the Lord Jesus or for gathering in in-person worship. Neither will they replace personal reading, meditation, prayer and fasting over God's divinely preserved and eternal Word imparted by the Holy Spirit.
The Authorized King James Version (AKJV), also known as the Authorized Version (AV), is the preferred English Bible because it is rendered [translated into English] accurately and  faithfully from the established majority of the Greek Textus Receptus [received text]  manuscripts and the Hebrew Masoretic Text.  These manuscripts are  protected of God, and always give a greater glory to God when compared to variant  readings.  The established majority manuscripts avoid doctrinal error, inaccuracies in translation, uninspired editorial notations, variant or ambiguous readings taken from Codices  Vaticanus, or  Sinaiticus.

The Authorized King James version is distinguished further by the requirement of Great Brittan that all King James bibles be printed only by the Cambridge University Press, the Crown’s authorized printer. No other [person or publisher] may print, copy or import the King James Bible into Great Brittan by order of the Crown.
Printed Prayer: Printed prayers must not be read or offered as a substitute for personal, fervent, effectual, heart-felt, prayer. They are offered, rather, to warm the hearts of those who will presently seek a season of fervent, authentic two-way, heart-to-heart  fellowship and prayer with the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. Authentic revelations from God during  prayer are always consistent with His revealed Word, the Bible.
Preaching  Preparation:  When preparing to preach, please send us the text reference that has been chosen if you would like us to send the  Spurgeon Sermon addressing the same text.
My Prayer: Dear Father,  is that You would touch, lift up, encourage and teach all who faithfully minister your Word.  Bless all who minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ. May Your blessing and holy anointing fall fresh upon each dear reader and abide with each one who rightly divides and faithfully proclaims Your Word  [The Bible]. Please save many souls; and may all be glory be yours alone. I pray this in the name of our Redeemer, The Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

A SINNER’S PRAYER:   … FOR WHOSOEVER:
Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21
Call on the name of the Lord Jesus and be saved     … pray like this, won’t you?

“Lord Jesus, I’m a lost sinner and without You I am lost.  I can’t save myself. Without your death on the cross to pay my sin debt I would be condemned to spend eternity in Hell. My nature and behavior  has been sinful from birth.  Please forgive me.

I realize that doing my best, being as good as possible, or being better than other people can never save me. . I’m sorry for each and every sin I have ever done and look to You to forgive them all.
I look to You, alone  Lord Jesus to save me.
I call on You,  Lord Jesus, right now to save me.  You died on the cross for me, as God’s  sacrifice for my sin.

Right now, just as I am, I call on You, Lord Jesus to save me,  I trust You to be my Savior and Lord.
Thank You, Lord Jesus, that You have forgiven me of all my sins. I want  to follow You from now on.

You paid the price for all of my sins by dying on the cross.

Thank you,  Lord Jesus that You loved me and died for me before I was born and that You love me still

Thank you, Heavenly Father, that You called me away from sin and death into the Life everlasting  in Your only begotten son, the Lord Jesus.

Thank You, Heavenly Father that you raised Jesus from the dead. He is alive and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave.

Thank You for saving me heavenly Father and Holy Spirit for Your comfort and guidance in all things.

With all my heart, thank you Lord Jesus for saving me. In your name, I pray, Amen.

Please allow us to share the joy of your new birth with heaven. Heaven rejoices over each redeemed sinner. Luke 15:7

A SINNERS PRAYER  FOR WHOEVER SHALL CALL:

Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21

For "whosoever will" may surely come and take of the water of life freely, because "whosoever will" [one who] is already drawn by the Father!  And you have the word of Christ: "All that the Father giveth me, shall come to me; and him that cometh unto me I will in no wise cast out !"

Therefore, pray and call on the Lord Jesus and be saved      … won’t you?

(Pray audibly, and wholeheartedly:)

“Lord Jesus, I’m lost. I’m a selfish, sinful and hopeless sinner. I cannot save myself. Without you and your sacrifice on the cross to save me, I would be hell bound. My sinful nature reveals itself in my sinfulness. I’m totally depraved and I sin because it is my natural born inclination. I know that me doing my best, or being as good as I can, or better than others or making excuses will never be enough to save myself.

I need to be saved.

I look to You, Lord Jesus to save me. Your word states, “It shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21. I call on You now Lord Jesus believing You will save me.

Thank You, Lord Jesus, that You so loved me that you would and, in fact, did die for me on the cross.

I ask that You forgive all my sins and save me. I’m sorry for all my sins and turn away from each one. Thank you, Lord, for paying, in full, the price of punishment for all my sins and for saving me.

Thank you, Heavenly Father that You say, “Look unto me, and be ye saved all the ends of the earth: for I am God and there is none else.”
I do look to You in believing You always keep Your Word and. will save me.

Thank You for revealing in me, that the wages of sin is death;  but Your gift is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Thank You, Heavenly Father that you raised Jesus from the dead victorious over sin, death and the grave and that in Him I am eternally saved.

Thank you for saving me.   Holy Spirit. please guide me into all truth and shape me into the very image of Your only begotten son, the Lord Jesus Christ in whose name I pray, Amen.

SACRED LITERATURE:

ORIGINAL: The Pilgrim’s Progress  Pub. by Logos,1853 from 1678 Original by John Bunyan

REVISED TEXT by Barry E. Horner: The Pilgrim’s Progrefs [sic]...

in Pilgrim’s Progress. (Tthe World’s most widely circulated Allegory by John Bunyan, also credited, by some, as being the world’s first English novel.

IT’S FREE. No subscription required. You may choose to read at your own pace, or you may want to view DailySpugeon.com for daily encounters with Pilgrim.)

"Christ in us is Christ reigning." reminds me [Spurgeon's comment] of Mr. Bunyan’s picture of [the town of] Mansoul, …when the Prince Immanuel laid siege to it, and Diabolus from within the city strove to keep him out. It was a, hard time for Mansoul then; but when at last the battering rams had broken down the gates, and the silver trumpets sounded, and the prince’s captains entered the breach, then on a day the prince himself did ride down the city’s streets, while liberated citizens welcomed him with all their hearts, hung out all their streamers, and made the church towers rock again as the bells rang out merry peals [melody] , for the king himself was come. Up to the castle of the heart he rode in triumph, and took his royal throne to be henceforth the sole lord and king of the city.

Christ in you is a right royal word. Christ swaying his scepter from the center of your being over every power and faculty, desire and resolve, bringing every thought into captivity to himself, oh, this is glory begun, and the sure pledge of heaven. Oh for more of the imperial sovereignty of Jesus; it is our liberty to be absolutely under his sway.

ADULT AUDIO Episodes and CHILDREN’S VIDEO Story Parts:

You may choose to read or listen to Pilgrim’s Progress as a bed time story.

It’s the world’s most famous allegory and is the all-time, world-wide best seller second only to the Bible. Some believe it to be the world’s first novel written in English.

It will bless, encourage and instruct pilgrims (readers and seekers) of all ages for a life-time.

SINNER’S PRAYER

PRAYER 19, Part 7 of 11

GOD’S UNSPEAKABLE GIFT.

Lord, send Thy life throughout the entire Church. Lord, visit Thy Church, restore sound doctrine, restore holy and earnest living. Take away from professors [believers] their apparent love for frivolities, [worldliness] their attempts to meet the world on its own ground, and give back the old love to the doctrines of the cross, the doctrines of the Christ [Messiah] of God; and once more may free grace and dying love be the music that shall refresh the Church, and make her heart exceeding glad.

[We ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.]

ANECDOTE 137: Man’s Convert, Not Christ’s

.

You have heard Mr. [Rowland] Hill’s story of meeting a man in the street one night, who hic-cupped [he had been drinking] up to him and said, “How do you do, Mr. Hill ? I am one of your converts.” “Yes,” said Rowland, “I should say you are, but you are none of God’s, or else you would not be drunk.”

Converts of that sort are far too numerous.

FAITH’S CHECKBOOK DECEMBER 17      C.H. Spurgeon 1834-1892

NEAREST AND DEAREST FELLOWSHIP

- Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and …so shall we ever be with the Lord- 1 Thessalonians 4:17

-Luego nosotros, los que vivimos, los que quedamos, juntamente con ellos seremos arrebatados en las nubes a recibir al Senor en el aire, y así estaremos siempre con el Senor-
1 Tesalonicenses 4:17

While we are here [on earth] the Lord is with us, and when we are called away, we are with Him. There is no dividing [separating] the saint from His Savior. They are one, and they always must be one: Jesus cannot be without His own people, for He would be a Head without a body. Whether caught up into the air, or resting in Paradise, or sojourning [teaveling] here, we are with Jesus; and who shall separate us from Him? What a joy is this! Our supreme honor, rest, comfort, [and] delight, is to be with the Lord. We cannot conceive of anything which can surpass or even equal this divine society [fellowship].

By holy fellowship we must be with Him in His humiliation, rejection, and travail [labor], and then we shall be with Him in His glory.

Before long, we shall be with Him in His rest and in His royalty, in His expectation and in His manifestation. We shall fare as He fares [do like He does], and triumph as He triumphs. O my Lord, if I am to be forever with thee, I have a destiny incomparable.

Prayer: Thank You Lord Jesus that if we are on earth when You come again, we will be raptured with the angles to meet You in the air and have eternal fellowship with You thereafter.

I believe that You are coming again. Help me to trust You, moment by moment in that expectation Lord Jesus, Amen.

… and pray for the saving of souls and strengthening  of believers.

The Lord … is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

2 Peter 3:9

Pray also that believers will be taught by the Holy Spirit to rightly divide God’s eternal Word preserved and protected by God, Himself.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten [supernaturally fathered] Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

John 3:16

vis. The Textus Receptus TR [Received Text] is the faithfully rendered Greek text with an overwhelming agreement in and among the majority of the 5,321 extant New Testament, Greek manuscripts  known as the  MT. [Majority Text]. The Old Testament Hebrew and Aramaic manuscripts were meticulously copied by hand [manuscript] by the Masoretic scribes. These are the manuscripts  from which  the Original King James version  was translated onto English.

In order for Westcott & Hort and Nestle & Aland to create the Modern Greek to shore up  the many variant reaings brought through highly nuanced readings from the Critical Text theory.  Only Fifty-five 55 manuscripts from the 5,321 Majority Text MT were hand-picked and they were not from the foundational text from which the Textus Receptus was rendered but were selected from  the inferior Sinaiticus and Vaticanus codices. These fifty-five manuscripts  brought  variant readings and were created, ostensibly, to justify the creation of an alternative Greek text to the Textus Receptus which had been under spurious attack by Westcott & Hort and Nestle & Aland for many years.

The Codices known as Sinaiticus and Vaticanus are inferior because they often are in disagreement with the Textus Receptus and incredibly, with one another. They give rise to variant readings and embrace secular doctrine bias not supported by scripture translated from the Majority Text or Textus Receptus.  They have been infused by  invented Greek text where an absence of Greek text from the Fifty-five hand-picked manuscripts was found.

They invented but did not disclose themselves as the source  of the new Greek translation.  They supplied this new Greek translation to all Committee members with the aim to revise the King James Bible. However, They insisted on a code of silence as to the authorship of the Greek Text from which all the Revisions were to be based. All members of the committee were required to agree to this code.

Modern textual criticism is based on the assumption that older manuscripts are, de-facto, more accurate. Actually, the continuous and unsettled changes from their  variant readings reflect error, doctrinal ambiguities and biases not supported by the Majority Text.

Scripture based on The Greek text of Westcott &  Hort and Nestle & Aland of a secular or denominational tradition allow modern textual criticism  to  rob God of His Sovereignty, Omnipotence, Omnipresence, Immutability, Inerrancy and  Infallibility and to diminish Glory from His infinite and everlasting “I AM” that deserves and demands ALL GLORY.

For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in Heaven. Psalm 119:89

God is not the author of confusion. 1 Corinthians 14:33

MORNING December 17

"I remember thee. "— Jeremiah 2:2
Me acuerdo de ti —Jeremias 2:2

EVENING: "I am the door:

by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. "
John 10:9

—Heme acordado de ti¾ Jeremías 2:2

LET us note that Christ delights to think of His Church and to look on her beauty. As the bird returns often to its nest and as the wayfarer [traveling man] hastens [hurries] to his home, so does the mind continually pursue the object of its choice [We think about things important to us]. We cannot look too often on that face which we love; we desire always to have our precious things in our sight. It is even so with our Lord Jesus.

From all eternity "His delights were with the sons of men." His thoughts rolled onward to the time when His elect [pre-destinrd believers] should be born into the world; He viewed them in the mirror of His foreknowledge.

"In Thy book," He says, "all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them" (Psalm 139:16).

When the world was set on its pillars He was there and He set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel.

Many a time before His incarnation, He descended to this lower earth in the likeness of a man;

on the plains of Mamre (Genesis 18:1), by the brook of Jabbok (Genesis 32:24-30), beneath the walls of Jericho (Joshua 5:13), and in the fiery furnace of Babylon (Daniel 3:19, 25) the Son of Man visited His people.

Because His soul delighted in them He could not rest [be content] away from them, for His heart longed after them.

Never were they absent from His heart, for

He had written their names on His hands and graven [engraved] them on His side. As the breastplate containing the names of the tribes of Israel was the most brilliant ornament worn by the high priest, so the names of Christ's elect were His most precious jewels, and glittered on His heart.

We may often forget to meditate on the perfections of our Lord, but He never ceases to remember us. Let us chide [scold] ourselves for past forgetfulness and pray for grace ever to [always] bear Him in fondest remembrance.

Lord, paint the image of your Son on the eyeballs of my soul.

EVENING December 17

"I am the door: by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. "— John 10:9

—Yo soy la puerta: el que por mí entrare, será salvo; y entrará, y saldrá, y hallará pastos—

Juan 10:9

JESUS, the great I AM, is the entrance into the true church, and the way of access to God Himself. He gives to the man who comes to God by Him four choice privileges.

1. He shall be saved. The fugitive [criminal] manslayer passed [into] the gate of the city of refuge, and was safe.

4. He shall find pasture. He who knows Jesus shall never want [have any unsatisfied need]. Going in and out shall be alike helpful to him: in fellowship with God he shall grow, and in watering others he shall be watered. Having made Jesus his all, he shall find all in Jesus.

His soul shall be as a watered garden, and as a well of water whose waters fail not.

You too can cast your cares on the Lord…

Our aim is to trust and obey the Lord Jesus Christ in everything. We rely wholly upon the Holy Spirit to impart God’s  divine revelation to us from His Word, the Holy Bible.  With God’s help, we will follow Jesus.  We expect  that lost souls will be saved, believers, comforted, strengthened and encouraged. To  God be all the glory.

The Bible is God’s divinely inspired [God breathed] revealed, infinite, eternal, inerrant, infallible, immutable Word to all mankind.  This divine, supernatural Word brings all revealed truth to the world. We purpose, therefore, to follow  God’s Holy Word, Personal guidance and guidance to the local church comes by His Word.

Hence, we resolve, God helping us, to read, study, meditate-on, trust-in  and obey God’s revealed and divinely preserved Word,  holding it to be the supreme authority and the only divinely established Stare Decisis [Latin: to stand by that which is decided] in all things.

It is also the essential foundation of this ministry.
History: The  inspired preaching, teaching and writing  of Charles Haddon Spurgeon is all empowered by God’s revealed Word the Bible.  His written publications continue to benefit readers through authentic Gospel preaching and sound biblical teaching. This ministry continues to flourish from  (Spurgeon’s)  Metropolitan Tabernacle,

(Brief History)

We present Spurgeon's printed  materials for the edification of the church as well as for the benefit, blessing and gospel challenge to all readers. Our desire is that the written Word of God will become the Living  Word in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ to each and every reader.

To this end,  DailySpurgeon.com is offered to encourage and provide opportunity to hear Gospel preaching, and to engage in daily devotional meditation, Bible study and prayer. Careful adherence to Spurgeon’s calendar and  original, unabridged text is given herein.

No servant of God has left a greater legacy of gospel exposition and preaching to the world than Charles Haddon Spurgeon. He has been widely read with great benefit from the 1800’s to the present time.

He is the beloved founder of the Metropolitan Tabernacle in London, England, thriving TODAY through faithful and uncompromised preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our aim is to lift up and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and to preach Christ Jesus  only and him crucified.

                 A  SINNER’S  PRAYER

Whosoever shall call on the name of the lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21

Pray and call on the name of the Lord Jesus, like this. Won’t you?

“Lord Jesus, I’m a sinner. I’m lost and hopeless to save myself. Without your death on the cross  I would spend eternity in Hell’s fire.

Thank you Lord Jesus that You loved me and died for me before I was born and that You have always loved me and will never reject or turn your back on me. I know You are the Way, the Truth and the Life and that no one can come to the Father but by You.

Thank you, Father that You have caused for me to see myself as I am; a lost sinner.  But,  because of Your love and goodness, You have made a way and given me the desire to come to You, to turn away from my sin and to trust in You, Lord Jesus.  You took my place on the cross and provided the way for  me to be forgiven. Thank You.
Thank You that You prompted a desire in me to believe in You, the only begotten  Son of God who died on the cross to be the sacrifice that would  atone for my sins.

Thank You, Father for Your love that allowed Jesus to suffer and die in my place. Thank You that You raised Jesus from the dead. He is RISEN and is ALIVE and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave and in Christ Jesus I am free.

You raised Jesus from the dead, gave Him a Glorified body and after he was seen by many witnesses on earth You took Him up to reign with You  in heaven.

Thank you, Father,  for saving me in the name, of Your only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
Romans 6:11

Thank you, Holy Spirit, that you always give witness to and exalt the Lord Jesus Christ.
John 16:8-11

With all my heart, thank you Lord for saving me.
Live Your life in me,  Lord Jesus, in Your name I pray, Amen.

MISSION STATEMENT
Our solemn  aim is to trust and obey the Lord Jesus in everything. This  relies completely upon God to achieve His purpose for us through His means. We purpose, with God’s empowerment and  help,  to save the lost, comfort, strengthen and encourage believers, and  rightly divide God’s Word to proclaim the Gospel (Good News) of Jesus Christ to every creature.

The Holy Bible is God’s eternal, inerrant, infallible, immutable revealed and divinely preserved Word.  It is His supernatural, complete scripture  of all revealed truth.  He brings guidance through it to us personally and to each local body of Christian believers. With God’s empowerment, we will read, study, meditate-on, trust-in  and obey God’s Holy Bible and encourage others to do the same. We hold it to be the supreme authority and the preeminent and divinely established Stare Decisis [Latin: to stand by that which is decided, the legal principle of precedence,   literally "to stand by decided matters"] in all things.

Therefore, the purpose of The John Mark Publishing Company is to publish the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every creature. And, to serve all, in love,  especially those in the household of faith. This purpose compels us to follow, and rightly present, God’s Holy Word, the Bible as God’s divinely preserved truth; the foundation of this ministry.

Tabernacle History:
The  inspired preaching, teaching, soul winning and writings of Charles Haddon Spurgeon were solely based, empowered and inspired by God’s Holy Word the Bible.  His written sermons and devotional content continue to benefit today’s readers with authentic  Gospel preaching and sound biblical teaching. His ministry continues to flourish from the original (Spurgeon’s)  Metropolitan Tabernacle,  a church fellowship began in 1650 with the present  building constructed by members of the congregation in 1861 and rebuilt after the second world war..

Spurgeon's written materials are for the edification of the church body as well as a great benefit, blessing and challenge to all readers. Our desire is that the written Word of God will become the Living  Word in each and every reader. To this end, a calendar is indexed (top, right) on the Home page of DailySpurgeon.com for daily study, meditation and prayer. An unabridged and strictly maintained fidelity to Spurgeon’s original calendar and unabridged text is carefully guarded.

God has preserved His Word through  The Masoretic Hebrew and Aramaic languages of the Old Testament and the GreekTextus Receptus of the New Testament:

In contrast, the Incomplete and unsealed codices of Sinaiticus and Vaticanus are not translated from the  5,321 Majority Text Greek manuscripts, that became the Textus Receptus [Original Masoretic Hebrew and the Greek Textus Receptus].

The Sinaiticus and Vaticanus manuscripts  present variant readings rather than that of the well-established and settled majority Texts. They disagree often with one another as well as with the settled majority texts. Thus, an attempt to create a pretext that will continue to justify a never-ending demand for additional editions and interpretations. These unsettled differences and bias in certain sectarian doctrine [dogma] have led to the production of multiple “modern” editions with ambiguities, many variant readings and confusion from the explosion of unending, new editions.

Profit-driven publishers have embraced such an economic windfall to sell a continual flow of “new and better” English edition of The Bible. They give too little attention to the fidelity and accuracy already settled [in heaven] in majority manuscripts of the Masoretic Hebrew and the  Greek Textus Receptus.

Psalm 119:89-90

ל Lamed

89 Forever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.

90 Thy faithfulness is unto all generations:

thou hast established the earth, and it abideth. [abides]

God, Himself, providentially protects and preserves His Word. His Word is the God-breathed, self-authenticating, immutable [unchanging and unchangeable], eternal, inerrant, infallible, infinite and all-powerful Word, settled in heaven. He is not the author of confusion.

Our Prayer: Dear Lord, empower your ministry to win many souls, and serve those in need, especially those in the household of faith, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

Disclaimer: The John Mark Publishing Company honors the memory of Charles H. Spurgeon his writing and preaching. Honor to whom honor is due. He didn’t want praise then and doesn’t  need it now. Our aim is to lift up and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and to preach Christ Jesus only and him crucified.

Precaution: The content presented from this website can be beneficial, but it  cannot substitute for gathering together, in-person, with other believers to hear the preaching of God’s Word and to worship and sing praises to the Lord Jesus Christ [the Messiah].

The Authorized King James Version (AKJV), also known as the Authorized Version (AV), is the authentic. inerrant, and infallible  English Bible because it is rendered [translated into English] accurately and faithfully from the extant 5,321 majority Greek manuscripts text from which the Greek Textus Receptus, [received text] manuscripts of the New Testament is taken.

The Hebrew Masoretic Text copied faithfully by Masoretic scribes was the original Old Testament. (The Jewish Tanakh) is the Hebrew source from which translations into other languages were made. These manuscripts are providentially protected of God and always give the greatest glory to God when compared to other translations.  Editorial notations, variant and sometimes ambiguous readings taken from Codices Vaticanus, or Sinaiticus consistently allow  nuanced meanings to diminish God’s Omnipotence, Omniscience, Omnipresence or other divine attributes from being fully voiced.

The Authorized King James version is unique also in that the requirement of Great Brittan that all King James bibles be printed only by the Cambridge University Press, The Crown’s Authorized Printer. No other [person or publisher] may print, copy or import the King James Bible into Great Brittan by order of the Crown.

Printed Spurgeon Prayers: Printed prayers must not be read or offered as a substitute for personal, fervent, effectual, heart-felt, prayer.

Preaching Preparation: When preparing to preach, please “GOOGLE” to find the Spurgeon Sermon that addresses the same text.

My Prayer is that You would touch, lift up, encourage and teach all who faithfully minister your Word.

Disclaimer: The John Mark Publishing Company does not praise or exalt  Charles H. Spurgeon beyond the honor due him. He didn’t need or want it when he was here on earth and has no need for it now, in Heaven. Our aim is to lift up and glorify the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and to preach HIM and Him crucified.

Precaution: These Devotional Messages and prayers alone can not substitute for continual fellowship with the Lord Jesus. Neither do they replace personal reading, meditation, prayer and fasting over God's divinely preserved and eternal Word. (The King James version (KJV), also known also as the Authorized Version (AKJV), is the preferred English Bible because its accuracy and fidelity to the Greek Textus Receptus [received text] and the Hebrew Masoretic Text) avoid doctrinal and editorial weakness found in many contemporary editions.

Written Prayers by Spurgeon must not be offered as a substitute for personal, intimate fervent, heart-felt, prayer. They are rather intended to warm the hearts of those who are seeking a season of authentic two-way, heart-to-heart  fellowship and prayer with the Father, His Son and the Holy Spirit.

The above link is to search for specific words or Scriptures in the King James inerrant and infallible  English Version  (KJV)  because it is providentially protected and preserved by GOD Himself through the only translation into English by faithful brethren from the 5,312 established majority text manuscripts MT from which the New Testament  Greek Textus Receptus [received text] was taken  and the Hebrew Masoretic Text of the Old Testament (Jewish Tanakh).  These manuscripts are providentially protected, and give greater glory to God when compared to the variant readings of all post KJV  translations. Modern Critical Texts are based on only 55 hand picked Greek manuscripts fabricated from either Westcott and Hort or Nestle and Aland. Both of these Greek textual sources make the assumption that OLDER IS BETTER. Of course, this assumption is not valid in any place   the older manuscripts err from the Textus Receptus..

The established majority manuscripts and the Textus Receptus avoid doctrinal error, and inaccuracies in translation, uninspired editorial notations, variant or ambiguous readings which taken from Codices Vaticanus, or Sinaiticus.

Copyright: The King James Version is also distinguished by the requirement of Great Brittan that all King James bibles be printed by the Cambridge University Press, the Crown’s authorized printer. No one other than the Crown’s printer, is allowed print, copy or import the King James Bible into Great Brittan by order of the Crown.

In the United States there is no Copyright protection to restrict the free printing of the KJV. It is the only Bible version that may be printed freely as Public Domain. Any  new publication that changes 10% or more of any existing  publication may procure a lucrative Copyright protection to restrict unauthorized printing of the new publication. Therefore,  the NKJV, NIV and many other modern  translations. Only the King James Version New Testament is unique from among the over 100 English translations that follow modern textual criticism and only the King James is faithfully translated from the well-established  Greek Textus Receptus as the  Primary time tested and self-authenticating Greek Source.

DEFENDING  THE  KING JAMES BIBLE    by the Millennium Bible Institute

This video presents the truth  for those who seek to learn about and use the providentially protected, preserved and immutable Holy Bible that is both inerrant [without error] and infallible and gives God alone, the utmost praise, and the greatest glory due to HIMSELF. Praise and worship are rightfully insisted upon and commanded in God’s  inspired [God-Breathed (Spoken) Word from God himself.
HOLY WORDS  that were given by God through the Holy Ghost, word by word, to His  Holy Prophets and Apostles comprise all eternal Holy Scripture. (Matthew 5:18)

The inspired, god breathed, immortal words, were  uttered, word-by-word, to the  holy prophets and apostles who were chosen of God and moved by the holy ghost. These words are protected and preserved in holy scripture and are written word-by-word and are immutable, [unchangeable] without error, and infallible [incapable of making a mistake or being wrong]. and for ever [sic] settled in heaven by God himself in the self authenticating word of god, itself.

The complete Inside  Story of Westcott and Hort:

Brooke Foss Westcott and Fenton John Anthony Hort  (Text only)

URL:   https://www.febc.edu.sg/article/def_the_inside_story_of_westcott_and_hort

In 1870, The Anglican Church of England passed a resolution to revise the English Bible. The New Testament revision committee which finally consisted of 25 scholars (though only about 16 eventually attended the meetings) which included Westcott and Hort. The committee worked for ten years in the Jerusalem chamber, and these two scholars swept the Revision Committee along with them after work commenced. In fact, the “Cambridge trio” (Westcott, Hort and Lightfoot) colluded with others to dominate the meetings with their views of the text and to defeat any who opposed them. Their *letters reveal this conspiracy:

* Letters from close relatives are quoted in the Inside Story above

The only voice defending the Textus Receptus was Dr Scrivener, probably the foremost scholar of the day in the manuscripts of the Greek New Testament and the history of the Text. But he was systematically outvoted by the Cambridge trio and outdone by Hort’s powerful debating skill. When the revision was completed, the revision committee had altered the Greek Text in 5,337 places,

thus violating the original rule that had been set for the committee of not altering the Greek Text unless absolutely necessary to do so.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, let it be said that no matter how good any modern version of the New Testament is in other ways, it is clearly blemished if the work of Westcott and Hort or Nestle & Aland.is present in it. The presence of their work means that it is based on  defective text. Those who honor the Word of God must not promote any of these versions by the church, not because the content of the version is entirely  evil in itself, but because being contented to use a weakened version rather than the existing, preserved, inerrant unblemished one, dishonors God. If God has preserved for His people a good Greek text of the New Testament for 18 centuries, how dishonoring it must  be to Him if His people now chose versions that are  based on  the defective and inferior  Greek manuscript  invented  by Westcott & Hort or Nestle & Aland.

Let the biblical story of Nadab and Abihu be a lesson for us all:

And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not. And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD. Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the LORD spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace. And Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said unto them, Come near, carry your brethren from before the sanctuary out of the camp. So they went near, and carried them in their coats out of the camp; as Moses had said. And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not your heads, neither rend your clothes; lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the people: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the LORD hath kindled” (Lev 10:1–6).
