ANECDOTE 189: February 7th   FAITH AND REASON.

Once “Reason” [The name of a character personified in Bunyan’s  Pilgrim’s Progress] came along, and heard a man cry, “I am guilty, guilty,”

 
She stopped, and said, “The man is guilty ; God condemns the guilty, therefore this man will be condemned.”

 

She went away, left the man condemned and ruined, and quivering with fear.

“Faith” came and heard the self-same cry, rendered more bitter by the cruel syllogism [statement] of Reason.

 

“Faith” stopped: she said, “The man is guilty ; Christ died for the guilty ; the man will be saved ;” 

and her logic was right ; the man lifted up his head, and rejoiced.

 

“Reason” came one day, and saw a man naked, and she said, “He hath not on a wedding garment; can naked souls appear before the bar of God?

Should they have a place at the supper of the Lamb? The man is naked; he must be cast out, for naked ones cannot enter heaven ! “

 

Then “Faith” came by, and said, “The man is naked ; Christ wrought a robe of righteousness; he must have made it for the naked; he would not have made it for those who have a robe of their own. The robe is for the naked man, and he shall stand in it before God.” 

 

And her logic was right and just. The other might seem strictly according to rule, but this was better still.

 

“Reason” one day heard a man say that he was very good and righteous. She saw him go up to the temple, and heard him pray,

 

“Lord, I thank thee that I am not as other men.”

 

“Reason”  Said,  “That man is better than others, and he will be accepted.”

 

But she argued wrongly; for, lo! he went out, and a poor sinner by his side, who could only say,

 

“God be merciful to me, a sinner,”  [He] went down to his house justified, while the proud Pharisee went on his way disregarded.

 

The logic of  Faith is to argue white from black, [Be merciful to me, a sinner.] whereas the logic of Reason argues white from white.

 

[“Lord, I thank thee that I am not [as bad]  as other men.”]

 

Luther says, “Once upon a time the devil came to me, and said,

 

Martin Luther, you are a great sinner, and you will be damned.

 

Stop, stop, said I, one thing at a time; I am a great sinner, it is true, though you have no right to tell me of it. I confess it;

what’s next ?

 

[Devil]: Therefore you will be damned.

[Luther]: That is not good reasoning. It is true I am a great sinner, but it is written

 

“Jesus Christ came to save sinners;”

 

Therefore, I shall be saved.

 

Now go your way,

Eliphaz, in this utterance [remark], [while giving advice to his friend Job] spoke a great truth, which is the summary of many an inspired Scripture.

 

Reader, has sin pulled you down? Have you become like a ruin? Has the hand of the Lord gone out against you, so that in estate [circumstances] you are impoverished, and in Spirit you are broken down? Was it your own folly which brought upon you all this dilapidation [ruin]?

 

Then the first thing to be done is to return to the Lord. With deep repentance and sincere faith find your way back from your backsliding. It is your duty, for you have turned away from Him whom you professed to serve.

 

It is your wisdom, for you cannot strive against Him and prosper. It is your immediate necessity, for what He has done is nothing compared to what He may do in the way of chastisement, since He is Almighty to punish.

 

See what a promise invites you!

 

You shall be -built up.-

 

None but the Almighty can set up the fallen pillars, and restore the tottering [unstable] walls of your condition;

 

but He can and He will do it if you return to Him.

 

Do not delay. Your crushed [debilitated] mind may quite fail you if you go on to rebel;

but hearty confession will ease you, and humble faith will console you.

Do this, and all will be well
 

[Everything’s gon’na be all right].

 

Prayer: Thank you LORD that if I return to You I will be built up. Thank You that You will take me back, renew my heart and build me up. Please forgive each and every sin of mine from which I now confess and  turn away. Help me to always obey You LORD  Jesus  in Your name, I pray,  Amen.

MORNING February 7th   "ARISE YE, AND DEPART"—Micah 2:10

THE hour is [soon] approaching when the message will come to us, as it comes to all,

 

"Arise [get up], and go forth from the home in which you have dwelled [lived], from the city in which you have done your business, from your family, from your friends. Arise, and take your last journey."

 

And what do we know of the journey? And what do we know of the country we are going to?
Of it we have read little; somewhat has been revealed to us by the [Holy] Spirit. But how little do we know of the realms of the future! We know that there is a black and stormy river called "Death."

 

God bids [asks] us [to] cross it, promising to be with us. And, after, death, what next? What wonder-world [amazing wonders] will open upon our astonished sight? What scene of glory will be unfolded to our view?  

 

No traveler has ever returned to tell. But we know enough of the heavenly land to make us welcome our summons [to go] to it with joy and gladness.

 

The journey of death may be dark, but we may go ahead fearlessly, knowing that

 

God is with us as we walk through the gloomy valley, and therefore

 

we need fear no evil.

 

We shall be departing from all we have known and loved here,

 

but we shall be going to our Father’s house—to our Father’s home, where Jesus is—to that royal “city with foundations, whose builder and maker is God.”

 

We shall move for the last time and dwell forever with Him we love, in the midst of His people, in the presence of God.

 

Christian, meditate much on heaven; it will help you to press on and to forget the toil of the way.

This vale [valley, place of testing] of tears is but [just] the pathway to the better country:

 

this world of woe is but the stepping-stone to a world of bliss.

WITHOUT considering these words in their prophetical connection, let us regard them as the invitation of our great forerunner [The Lord Jesus Christ] to His sanctified people. In due time there shall be heard "a great voice from heaven" to every believer, saying,

 

"COME UP HITHER [come up here]."

 

To the saints this should be a subject of joyful anticipation. Instead of dreading the time when we shall leave this world to go unto the Father, we should be longing for the hour of our emancipation [being set Free]. Our song should be this:
 

My heart is with Him on His throne,

And ill can brook delay;

(can’t put up with any delay)

Each moment listening for the voice,

‘Rise up, and come away.’

 

We are not called down to the grave, but up to the skies.

 

Our heaven-born spirits should long for their native [first known] air. Yet the celestial summons should be the object of patient waiting. Our God knows best when to bid [call] us "COME UP HITHER [here]." We must not wish to antedate the period of our departure [leave before it’s time ]. I know that strong love will make us cry [call out],

 

0 Lord of Hosts, the waves divide,

And land us all in heaven.

 

but patience must have her perfect work. God ordains with accurate wisdom the most fitting time for the redeemed [saved] to abide below [live on earth]. Surely, if there could be regrets in heaven, the saints might mourn that they did not live here longer, to do more good.

 

Oh, for more sheaves for my Lord's garner, [silo] more jewels for His crown! But how, unless there be more work?

 

True, there is the other side of it: in living so briefly, our sins are the fewer. But when we are fully serving God, scattering His precious seed and reaping a hundredfold, we would even say it is well for us to stay where we are.

 

Whether our Master says "go," or "stay," let us be equally well pleased

 

as long as He blesses us with His presence.

 

You too can cast your cares on the Lord… 

1. Call on Him. As for me, I will call upon God; and the Lord shall save me.. ...Psalm 55:16

2. Trust Him. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass ... Psalm 37:5

God, Himself, providentially protects and preserves His WORD. All of His Word is inspired, [God-breathed], self-authenticating, immutable [unchanging and unchangeable], eternal, inerrant, infallible, infinite and all-powerful [omnipotent] Word.

Alterations in the Text:
NIV ESV  RSV and all other Modern Language Translations are translated from the Critical Text which came from the Greek Codices Vaticanus and Sinaiticus.  90% is from Vaticanus and 8-9% from Sinaiticus  and were the principle Greek Texts of Westcott and Hort’s invented Greek Text. There is more disagreement than agreement between these two sources.

 

17 verses are deleted out of the New Testament in the Critical Text. 7,000 words are deleted.

Codices Sinaiticus  and Vaticanus are counterfeits that were  overwritten in the 10th 11th and  completely overwritten in the 15th centuries. There are more points of disagreement than agreement  between the.

The Geneva Bible was also translated from the Traditional Greek Text, The Textus Receptus [The Received Text] including  comments favorable to the Protestant Reformation  from, devoted,  faithful Christian men of GOD; Puritan Believers whose lives were  beyond reproach.
This Bible was brought to Plymouth Massachusetts  in the American Colonies by the Puritan Pilgrims guided by Captain Christopher Jones’s on the Mayflower sailing ship in 1620. A 1592 Edition of the Geneva Bible that belonging to a Mayflower passenger and the Governor of the Plymouth Colony (Later to become the State of   Massachusetts) by William Bradford and is on display at the Pilgrim Hall Museum in Plymouth, Massachusetts, the oldest continuously operating public museum in the United States.

The traditional Textus Receptus [The Received (Greek) Text] unlike any other Greek Text was taken  from more than 5,321 original Majority (Greek Manuscript) Text [MT] that agree 99% with one another. Other variant readings stem from Greek translations invented by  either Westcott and Hort or Nestle and Aland.  These fabricated Greek Texts were translated from only a handful [45] of Majority Text Manuscripts MT and  lack the  trustworthiness of  the inspired 1769 [1611] King James Version, KJV or the Geneva Bible and are the only two translations of the traditional, reliable, inspired, [GOD BREATHED] immutable and providentially and divinely protected Textus Receptus [TR]

 

There is also translational evidence that establishes The Traditional GreekText as both the OLDEST and the BEST. [The Counterfeit proofs  offered by Critical Test adherents].

It is Latin for Anno Domini,  a  phrase adopted into English usage that means  “Year of [the] Lord”.  The complete  original phrase "anno Domini nostri Jesu Christi" means "in the year of our Lord Jesus Christ”.   A.D. together with B.C. Before Christ divides all history into before and after the birth of Jesus the Christ [Messiah].

YES, it can!    Yes, it is!     Here’s why.

 

1 John 4:1-3

Beloved ones, don’t be believing every spirit [everyone or !everything] you hear but be testing the spirit [voice] whether it is of God: because many false prophets have gone [come] out into the world. Here’s how you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit [voice] that confesses [avows] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh, having come[who came] out of God, is of God: and every spirit that confesses not [doesn’t audibly avow] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Therefore I do confess,  that Jesus Christ is come  [is here]  in the flesh.

 

[All translations of the Bible that use  Greek translations other than the traditional and faithful Textus Receptus do not contain the Greek word “ictin”.  This word  means “is” in English] and  its exclusion causes the meaning of its English equivalent, “is here” to change from “is” come” [“is”   here] to “has” come.

 

This error is self-evident because non-believers, false prophets, atheists and even  heretics can, and frequently do, affirm that Jesus Christ “has come”   [in the flesh].

 

While this is a true statement, taken at face value, the  meaning of  “has come” is clearly not the same as “is here”. When “has” come is the meaning   the test God has given in His Word to discern whether words being analyzed are from the Spirit of God or the spirit of antichrist is negated.

 

One of the most well documented facts in all human history is that Jesus The Christ [The Anointed Messiah]  “has” come in the flesh. However, the essential question  is not whether the spirit [a spoken or written word] confesses that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh but, whether this confession affirms that Jesus Christ, “is come” [is here],  in the flesh.

 

Please Compare and consider [Meditate upon] this scripture with other related scriptures.  Precept upon precept, Line upon line…

Self-Authenticating  [The Bible is considered to be self-authenticating because proponents who believe it to be so know it contains inherent divine qualities—Such qualities are unity, majesty, power, and internal consistency—that reveal its divine origin, that convinces readers of its truth without relying on external historical proof or church testimony.

This concept, championed by the Reformation, know that the Holy Spirit illuminate:
the "heavenliness of its matter," the "efficacy of its doctrine," and the "majesty of its style" within the text itself, allowing God's Word to be received directly, the same way as seeing God's glory in Christ.]

 

Divinely Protected and Preserved:

Psalm 12:6-7:   6 The words of the Lord are pure words:
as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
7 Thou shalt keep them [Thy Words] (Note Plural), O Lord, thou shalt preserve them [Thy Words] from this generation for ever. (AKJV).

 

Isaiah 40:8: 8 The grass withereth, [withers] the flower fadeth [fades] :but the word of our God shall stand for ever. (AKJV).

 

Matthew 5:18: 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. (AKJV).

 

Matthew 24:35: 35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. (AKJV).

 

1 Peter 1:23: 23 being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.  (AKJV).

The Authorized King James Version (AKJV)  also known as The Authorized Version (AV) and The Geneva Bible are the only faithful English Translations translated from the preeminent, [surpassing all others], Traditional Greek translation of the Textus Receptus [Received Text] TR that is self-authenticating. It’s superior to all Critical Text translations from other Greek Sources including (Westcott & Hort, Nestle & Aland,  and Codices Vaticanus, Sinaiticus and Alexandrus).

 (AKJV) The Authorized Version AKJV Translation was faithfully translated by fully consecrated,  and dedicated men of faith, beyond reproach, preeminent linguists, language scholars who were fully devoted followers of  The Lord Jesus Christ.   The 1611 King James translation is from the inerrant, inspired and immutable Textus Receptus [Received Text]:

 

Psalm 119:89  ל   (Lamed)  For ever, [sic] O  Lord, thy word is settled in heaven.

 

“Thy Word” is The Inspired and Ultimate Stare Decisis [A Latin phrase used in Legal terminology  that establishes the principle of “Legal Precedence” that means to stand by things decided, and with reference to Holy Scripture, to uphold all things God-Breathed [Inspired] and therefore eternally and immutably decided]

 

4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth [says] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh is of God: 3 and every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

 

Therefore, I now confess that “Jesus Christ is here in the flesh.”  

 

[All other English translations of the Bible that use Greek manuscripts other than the Textus Receptus erroneously renders the English translation “Has come”.

      

 This Translation error is because inferior Greek manuscripts do not include the Greek word  “ictin”  (This is The Greek word for is that is found only in the Majority Text of the Textus Receptus) and therefore  the failure  to correctly translate “ictin” [Is Here] into English.

 

 The Authorized King James Version AKJV also known as The Authorized Version AV and the Geneva Bible stand alone in making and giving the correct translation: “is here”.

 

This  error: “has come” is self-evident, because non-believers, false prophets and even heretics  can, and sometimes will,  make the confession that He “has come” in the flesh. This is no surprise because the birth of Jesus Christ is the most well documented fact in all of recorded history.  Indeed, it is a true and factual statement that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. Yet, while this is, a true and factual statement, the meaning in scripture has now been erroneously changed. The new and erroneous meaning is that now even if He “has come” in the flesh  the confession that JESUS CHRIST IS HERE IN THE FLESH is impossible for THE SPIRIT OF ANTICHRIST who is the creator of all heresies  to confess. Without it, Don’t  believe anything  that is said or written.

 

NEITHER does it provide for the test for believers to discern whether a spirit [voice or written words being read or heard] are from God or from the Antichrist.  It is  true that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh, but it’s essential that the confession that Jesus Christ,  “IS HERE IN THE FLESH” Be confessed  [be spoken].

A SINNER’S PRAYER  FOR WHOSOEVER:
 
Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21
Call on the name of the Lord Jesus and be saved     … pray like this, won’t you?   

“Lord Jesus, I’m a lost sinner and without You I am lost.  I can’t save myself. Without your death on the cross to pay my sin debt I would be condemned to spend eternity in Hell. My nature and behavior  has been sinful from birth.  Please forgive me.

I realize that doing my best, being as good as possible, or being better than other people can never save me. . I’m sorry for each and every sin I have ever done and look to You to forgive them all.
I look to You, alone  Lord Jesus to save me.
I call on You,  Lord Jesus, right now to save me.  You died on the cross for me, as God’s  sacrifice for my sin.

Right now, just as I am, I call on You, Lord Jesus to save me,  I trust You to be my Savior and Lord.
Thank You, Lord Jesus, that You have forgiven me of all my sins. I want  to follow You from now on.

You paid the price for all of my sins by dying on the cross.

Thank you,  Lord Jesus that You loved me and died for me before I was born and that You love me still

Thank you, Heavenly Father, that You called me away from sin and death into the Life everlasting  in Your only begotten son, the Lord Jesus.

Thank You, Heavenly Father that you raised Jesus from the dead. He is alive and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave.

Thank You for saving me heavenly Father and Holy Spirit for Your comfort and guidance in all things.

There were 1,300 editions printed before 1938, 250 years after the author's death. It remains among the world’s most famous literature.

His inspired work, The Pilgrim’s Progress, known as the world’s most  published allegory,  does not subscribe to any world view at all  but proclaims God’s view on everything revealed and forever settled in Heaven Psalm 119:89 in The Holy Bible. 

 

John Bunyan merely, yet ardently believed God’s Word;  That it is God-breathed [inspired by God], Self-authenticating, Providentially-protected and propagated  immutable [unchanged and unchangeable] , inerrant [without error] , infallible [incapable of being mistaken or of being wrong], indestructible  and eternal written Word from GOD Himself for ever settled in Heaven.
