DEVOTION for   July 28th   *A.D. 2025

_________________________________________________

Note: The New King James Version NKJV and all other Bible versions  NOT  translated from  the Textus Receptus [Received Text] are  inferior to the  translation of the  1769 [1611] King James Version, KJV and the Geneva Bible. Only these two translations are faithful to the Textus Receptus.

The Textus Receptus is supported by more than 5,321 Majority Greek Text MT Manuscripts that agree 98% with one another. ALL OTHER readings have as their primary source Westcott and Hort and/or Nestle and Aland, Greek Texts  fabricated from only a handful of Majority Text Manuscripts and are  inferior to the  trustworthiness of the 1769 [1611] King James Version, KJV and the Geneva Bible; the only two that are translated from the reliable, inspired  and divinely protected Textus Receptus.

The Bridge to Babylon video presents historical evidence to account for the explosion of over 100 different  English version translations  of the Bible into English. The continuing attempts to replace, add or take away from the 1769 King James Version of the Holy Bible will not  prevail because GOD Himself preserves and protects His Holy Word

from all heresy, blasphemy, confusion and error.

Defend the Truth. Won’t you?  ...More

Should you trust this website ?

Is it of God?

1 John 4:1-3

Beloved ones, don’t be believing every spirit [everyone or everything] you hear but be testing the spirit [voice] whether it is of God: because many false prophets have gone [come] out into the world. Here’s how you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit [voice] that confesses [avows] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh, having come[who came] out of God, is of God: and every spirit that confesses [avows] not that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit [voice] of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Hence, I  confess here, audibly,  that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh.

[The English translations of the Bible that used other Greek manuscripts than the Textus Recptus render “Has come” and ignore “ictin” (Greek word for is) This error is self-evident because non-believers and false prophets can, and do, make the confession that He “has come” in the flesh. While this is true at face value, it does not bear the burden of discernment that it promises..

The most well documented fact in all recorded human history is that Jesus. the Christ [Messiah]  has come in the flesh. The main question to be ascertained, however, is not whether the spirit [words or person] being tested confess that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh but, of essential importance, is whether Jesus Christ, “is here, from God, in the flesh.”

Ephesians 5:30-32

30 for we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

Compare, here, scripture with scripture: “I speak concerning Christ and the church.” [the fleshly embodiment, here, of the body of Christ].

Jusus The Mesiah [Christ] has always and Forever existed as the WORD of God.    John 1:1-2

He was born of a virgin 2,025 years ago in Bethlehem,

is alive today, and is coming soon for His bride; the Church

(the redeemed).

"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:

God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit,

believed on in the world, received up into glory."

1 Timothy 3:16

May the Holy Ghost  are invited to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and receive Him as your Savior and Lord and to publicly acknowledge Him, so He will  acknowledge you to His Father; The God of Abraham. Isaac and Jacob. You are also invited to follow Him in believer’s baptism.

Jesus came from Galilee to Jordan to be baptized by John the Baptist. But, John forbad [refused] Him and said, “I have need to be baptized of You and [yet] you are coming to me?” [for baptism] And Jesus answering him said, “Suffer it to be so [Allow this]: for thus it becometh [is fitting and right for] us to fulfil all righteousness.”

 Matthew 3:15

Baptism is not required for salvation. Remember, Jesus said to the thief on the cross, who acknowledged Jesus’ innocence and said to him. “Remember me when you come into your kingdom.” And Jesus said to him, “Verily [Truly] I say to you, Today you shall be with me in paradise.” Luke 23:43

The act of Baptism pictures the Lord’s death and resurrection and by extension through identification with Him, also pictures the believer’s death to self, atonement, and new, born-again life.

Baptism bears witness to the preaching of John the Baptist. He preached the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand and exhorted Repentance from sin and the Baptism of atonement. Therefore, the act of baptism is not required for salvation but is to be followed to fulfil all righteousness.

We desire to Worship Him in Spirit and in truth through prayer, Bible readings, scriptural meditation, gospel preaching, singing of sacred hymns and spiritual songs.

To this purpose, DailySpurgeon, is dedicated.

This website is not intended, were it possible, to take the place of fellowship or congregational worship in a local body of believers.

2 Timothy 2:15

“Study to show yourself approved unto God, a worker that needs not be ashamed, rightly dividing [accurately comprehending and sharing] the word of truth.” [God’s immutable

To Be a devoted follower of the Lord Jesus Christ is now my fervent desire. I trust Him  to save me eternally from sin to eternal life.

I will, with His help, follow Him in soul winning by any instrumentality He may choose inviting  and encouraging non-believers to repent ,  turn away from sin, look to Him and be saved.

We trust that all believers (old and new) will benefit in knowing that He will sustain, guide and build us up as we are being conformed to the image of Christ Jesus by the power of the Holy Ghost.

Daily Spurgeon is a collection of inspired devotional writings, prayers, hymns, sacred literature and encouragement by Charles Haddon Spurgeon, faithfully and rightly dividing the Gospel [Good News] of JESUS the CHRIST [MESSIAH].

Sermons from The Metropolitan Tabernacle and sacred congregational music of worship and praise as well as episodes from Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress are included to encourage  personal edification and spiritual growth.

PRAYER 25, Part 10 of 10 July 28th

THE WASHING OF WATER BY THE WORD.

Now, we pray Thee to grant us the blessing which we have already sought, and let it come upon all the churches of our beloved country. May the Lord revive true and undefiled religion [Faith in Jesus Christ alone] here and in all the other lands where [Jesus] Christ is known and preached, and let the day come when heathendom shall become converted, when the crescent of Mohammed shall wane into eternal night, and when she that sitteth [sits] on the Seven Hills and exalts [pridefully places] herself in the place of God shall be cast down to sink like a millstone in the flood. Let the blessed Gospel of the eternal God prevail, let the whole earth be filled with His glory. Oh! that we may live to see that day.

[In your name, Lord Jesus we pray, Amen.]

ANECDOTE 343: July 28th Fishing but Never Catching.

If a minister can be content to go on preaching without converts or baptisms, the Lord have mercy upon his miserable soul! Can he be a minister of Christ who does not win souls? A man might as well be a huntsman and never take any prey [edible food] , a fisherman and always come home with empty nets, a husbandman and never reap a harvest! I wonder at some people’s complacency. When God never blesses them, they never fail to bless themselves.

“Divine sovereignty withholds the increase,” they say. But it really is their idleness that tends to poverty. The promise of God is to the diligent, not the indolent [lazy]. Let Paul plant, and let Apollos water, God will give the increase. It may not come to-day, nor to-morrow, nor the next day, but come it must.

The word cannot return unto God void.

FAITH’S CHECKBOOK July 28th THE MOURNER COMFORTED    by C.H. Spurgeon

-Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted- Matthew 5:4

-Bienaventurados los que lloran: porque ellos recibirán consolación- Mateo 5:4

By the valley of weeping, we come to Zion. One would have thought mourning and being blessed were in opposition, but the infinitely wise Savior puts them together, in this beatitude [blessing]. What He has joined together let no man put asunder [apart]. Mourning for sin

-our own sins, and the sins of others-

is the Lord’s seal set upon His faithful ones.

When the Spirit of grace is poured upon the house of David, or any other house, they shall mourn.

By [through] holy mourning we receive the best of our blessings, even as the rarest commodities come to us by water. Not only shall the mourner be blessed at some future day, but

Christ pronounces him blessed even now.

The Holy Spirit will surely comfort those hearts which mourn for sin.

They shall be comforted by the application of the blood of Jesus, and by the cleansing power of the Holy Ghost. They shall be comforted as to the abounding sin of their city and of their age by the assurance that

God will glorify Himself, however much men may rebel against Him.

They shall be comforted with the expectation that they shall be wholly freed from sin before long, and shall soon be taken up to dwell forever in the glorious presence of their Lord.

Prayer: Thank You Father, that You comfort our mourning. Thank You also for giving us Your word of encouragement. Help us to embrace sorrow knowing that you will bring blessing to us, from it in your name, Lord Jesus, I pray, Amen.

MORNING July 28th

"The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out. " —Leviticus 6:13

-El fuego ha de arder continuamente en el altar ; no se apagará-—Levítico 6:13

KEEP the altar of private prayer burning. This is the very life of all godliness. The sanctuary [church worship] and family altars [personal devotions] borrow their fires here [start new fires from lively, burning ones], therefore let this one burn well.

Secret devotion is the very essence, evidence, and barometer of vital and experiential [practical] religion [vibrant, lively faith in the Lord Jesus].

Burn here the fat of your sacrifices. Let your closet [private prayer] seasons be, if possible, regular, frequent, and undisturbed.

The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much James 5:16. [is very fruitful].

Have you nothing to pray for? Let us suggest

the church,
the ministry [and ministers],

your own soul,

your children,

your relations,

your neighbors,

your country, and

the cause of God and truth throughout the world.

Let us examine ourselves on this important matter. Do we engage with luke-warmness [half-heartedness] in private devotion? Is the fire of devotion [to the Lord Jesus] burning dimly in our hearts? Do the chariot wheels drag heavily [barely turn]?

If so, let us be alarmed at this sign of decay. Let us go with weeping and ask for the Spirit of grace and of supplications [effectual prayer].

Let us set apart special seasons for extraordinary prayer.

For if this fire should be smothered beneath the ashes of worldly conformity, it will dim the fire on family devotions, and lessen our influence both in the church and in the world.

The text will also apply to the altar of the heart. This is a golden altar indeed.

God loves to see the hearts of His people glowing towards Himself.

Let us give our hearts to God, all blazing with love, and seek His grace, that the fire may never be quenched [put out]; for it will not burn if the Lord does not keep it burning.

Many foes will attempt to extinguish it; but if the unseen hand behind the wall pour thereon the sacred oil, it will blaze higher and higher.

Let us use texts of Scripture as fuel for our heart's fire, they are live coals; let us attend sermons, but above all,

let us be much alone with Jesus.

________________________________________

EVENING July 28th

"He appeared first to Mary Magdalene. " —Mark 16:9

— Apareció Jesús primeramente á María Magdalena—Marcos 16:9

JESUS "appeared first to Mary Magdalene,"

probably not only on account of her great love and persevering [relentless] seeking, but because, as the context intimates, [shows] she had been a special trophy of Christ's delivering power.

Learn from this, that the greatness of our sin before conversion should not make us imagine that we may not be specially favored with the very highest grade of fellowship.

She was one who had left all to become a constant attendant on the Savior. He was her first, her chief object. Many who were on Christ's side did not take up Christ's cross;

she did.

She spent her substance in relieving His wants. If we would see much of Christ, let us

serve Him.

Tell me who they are that sit oftenest [the most frequently] under the banner of His love and drink deepest from the cup of communion [the Lord’s supper], and I am sure they will be those who give most, who serve best, and who abide closest to the bleeding heart of their dear Lord [Jesus].

But notice how Christ revealed Himself to this sorrowing one—by the word,

"Mary."

With only one word in His voice, she knew Him at once, and her heart owned allegiance by another word; her heart was too full to say more.

That one word would naturally be the most fitting for the occasion. It implies obedience.

She said, "Master."

There is no state of mind in which this confession of allegiance will be too cold. No, when your spirit glows most with the heavenly fire, then you will say,

"I am Your servant, You have loosed my bonds [You have set me free]."

If you can say, "Master," if you feel that His will is your will, then you stand in a happy, holy place.

He must have said your name or else you could not have said, "Rabboni" [Master].

See, then, from all this, how Christ honors those who honor Him, how love draws [attracts] our Beloved, [and] how but one word of His,

turns our weeping to rejoicing, how

His presence makes the heart's sunshine [sunshine in our hearts].

Create in Me a Clean Heart    Sing with the Maranatha Singers, won’t you?

Today’s PRAISE music selections came to mind from today’s Anecdote, Faith’s Checkbook, and todays date for the birth of a Godly Nation built on God’s Word, The Holy Bible.

OUTWARD practical holiness is a very precious mark of grace. I fear that many have perverted the doctrine of justification by faith [in Jesus Christ] in such a way as to treat good works with contempt; if so, they will receive everlasting contempt at the last great day.

If our hands are not clean, let us wash them in Jesus' precious blood, and so let us lift up pure hands to God.

But "clean hands" will not suffice, unless they are connected with "a pure heart."

True religion [faith] is heart-work. We may wash the outside of the cup and the platter as long as we please, but if the inward parts be filthy, we are filthy altogether in the sight of God, for our hearts are more truly ourselves than our hands are; the very life of our being lies in the inner nature, and hence the imperative need of purity within.

The pure in heart shall see God, all others are but blind bats.

The man who is born for heaven "hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity." All men have their joys by which their souls are lifted up;

the worldling [“carnal man”] lifts up his soul in carnal delights which are mere empty vanities; but

the saint loves more substantial things.

Like Jehoshaphat, he is lifted up in the ways of the Lord.

He who is content with husks [pig slop] will be reckoned [counted] with the swine.

Does the world satisfy you? Then you have your reward and portion in this life; make the most of it, for you will know no other joy.

"Nor sworn deceitfully. " The saints are men of honor still. The Christian man's word is his only oath; but that is as good as twenty oaths of other men.

False speaking will shut any man out of heaven, for a liar will not enter into God's house, whatever may be his professions or doings.

Reader, are we  condemned by false speaking or do we hope to ascend to the hill of the Lord [ZION] ?

Sing: We’re Marching to Zion

A SINNER’S  PRAYER

Whosoever shall call on the name of the lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21

Pray and call on the name of the Lord Jesus, like this. Won’t you?

“Lord Jesus, I’m a sinner. I’m lost and hopeless to save myself. Without you and your blood that was shed for me and Your death on the cross  I would spend eternity in Hell’s fire.

Thank you Lord Jesus that You love me and died for me before I was born and that You have always loved me and will never reject or turn your back on me. I know You are the Way, the Truth and the Life and that no one can come to the Father but by trusting in You.

Thank you, Father that You have caused me to see myself as I am; a lost sinner.  But,  because of Your love and goodness, You have made a way and given me the desire to come to You, to turn away from my sin and to trust in You, Lord Jesus.  You took my place on the cross and provided the way for  me to be forgiven. Thank You.
Thank You that You prompted a desire in me to believe in You, the only begotten  Son of God who died on the cross to be the sacrifice that would  atone for my sins.

Thank You, Father for Your love that allowed Jesus to suffer and die in my place. Thank You that You raised Jesus from the dead. He is RISEN and is ALIVE and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave and in Christ Jesus I am free.

You raised Jesus from the dead, gave Him a Glorified body and after he was seen by many witnesses on earth You took Him up to reign with You  in heaven.

Thank you, Father,  for saving me in the name, of Your only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.  Romans 6:11

Thank you, Holy Spirit, that you always give witness to and exalt the Lord Jesus Christ.
John 16:8-11

With all my heart, thank you Lord for saving me.
Live Your life in me,  Lord Jesus, in Your name I pray, Amen.

Amen... Amen… Amen!

*Charles Dumah Riley, Sr. 1897 – 1987

This is My Daddy’s  prayer he prayed before every meal, he always offered with all gravity and reverence heard in the unique inflection of his deep Bass voice of prayer:

“Accept our thanks for these and all other blessings, we Humbly ask in Thy name, Amen.”

Jesus Christ [Messiah] (Anointed King)] the LORD GOD was born of a virgin 2025 years ago,    was crucified, then rose from the dead, victorious over sin, death and the grave and is here in the flesh from GOD as His Church, The Body of Christ and will live  forever, time without end and He is coming again.

The Lord Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh,
was born of a virgin  2025 years ago.
He’s  alive  today, has always existed as God’s eternal and everlasting Word,
and will soon return for his bride, the Church
[The body of all redeemed believers in Jesus Christ].And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:
God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit,
believed on in the world, received up into glory.1 Timothy  3:16   Look unto me, and be ye saved all the ends of the earth: for I am God and there is none else.Isaiah 45:22You are invited to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal savior and Lord and to follow Him in believer’s baptism.         Jesus came from Galilee  to Jordan to be baptized by John the Baptist. But, John forbad [refused] Him and said, “I have need to be baptized of You and [yet] you are coming to me?” [for baptism]  And Jesus answering him said, “Suffer it to be so [Do it] now: for thus it becometh us [is beautifully fitting and expected of us] to fulfil all righteousness.”         Baptism is not a requirement for salvation but it is the willing desire of all believers to demonstrate agreement and consistency with  the righteousness of preaching Repentance and Baptism as preached and practiced by John the Baptist is obedience to scriptural teaching.  The issue of baptism is therefore not an issue of salvation but of obedience and the fulfilling of all righteousness.         Worshiping Him in Spirit and in truth will spring-up and be manifested in a sense of gratitude from all born again believers.  Such trust and worship can come through prayer, Bible reading, scriptural meditation and study. Fellowship in a local church body, hearing gospel preaching and singing of sacred hymns and spiritual songs are also acts of worship and reflects active discipleship.         To this purpose, DailySpurgeon,  is offered as a reliable, dependable and effective resource. It is not intended, were it possible to take the place of fellowship or congregational worship in a local body of believers. “Study to show yourself  approved unto God, a worker that needs not be ashamed, rightly dividing [accurately comprehending and sharing] the word of truth.”   2 Timothy 2:15Trusting in and following the Lord Jesus Christ is our chief purpose. We trust Him for salvation, guidance, strength and our eternal destiny according to His perfect will.  We follow Him in soul winning through DailySpurgeon  or any other instrumentality He may choose.   We invite and encourage non-believers to turn away from sin, look to Him and be saved.  We trust that believers (old and new) will benefit from its use knowing that He will sustain, guide and build us up as we are conformed to His image by the power of the Holy Spirit.

SERMON:  The Metropolitan Tabernacle  (Charles Spurgeon 1834-1892)

The Strategy of Resurrection   John Ch. 20    with Dr. Peter Masters, PastorIt is clear the resurrection was completely unexpected by the disciples. Here is how it came, first by gentle intimation, then with a caution, then as a proof of Christ's successful atonement, and then as a command to trust in the living Lord. PLEASE SING Above All  by Lenny LeBlanc  …Be [be being]  filled with the Spirit; speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart unto the Lord.Mission and InvitationThe aim of this work is to save souls, strengthen and encourage believers in the Word, proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ as we serve those in need. We believe the Bible is God’s revealed Word and that through His Word He guides us as individuals and as a local body of believers. We are resolved, God helping us, to study, meditate and pray to rightly divide God’s revealed Word holding it as the final authority in all things. The purpose of The John Mark Publishing Company is to make known the Gospel of The Lord Jesus Christ to every creature. We aim to love the brethren, win souls, and  build-up of the Body of Christ, [The Universal Church of true believers].  We purpose to publish the Good News of Jesus Christ and to proclaim (preach) HIM everywhere.  We purpose also to serve everyone, especially those in the household of faith..
We believe the Bible is God’s everlasting, inspired (God breathed) Word.  By His Word He guides us individually and corporately through His local Church.
God’s Word [The Bible] is the driving essence of all our work. To this end we annotate and reprint, unabridged, the sermons and publications from The Holy Bible that were preached and taught through the inspired servant Charles Haddad Spurgeon. The published Headings and Titles selected for inclusion in  Daily Spurgeon are:
Prayers

Paul’s gratitude, contentment and blessing recorded in the book of Philippians quotes the principle and practices regarding all contributions to the Publishing Company. We desire fruit that may abound to your account through your generosity:  (vis.)
"For even in  [the]  Thessaloni'ca [jail] ye sent once and again unto my necessity.  Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.  Philippians 4:17. But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received the things which were sent from you, an odor of a sweet smell, Exodus. 29.18 a sacrifice acceptable, well-pleasing to God. …But I know that my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:17-19.  Now unto God and our Father  be  glory  for ever and ever. Amen. Salute [Greet]  every saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren which are with me greet you All the saints salute [Greet]  you, chiefly they that are of  *Caesar’s household. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Philippians 4:23 Amen”

* Not only were new converts won to the truth in Caesar's household, but after their conversion they remained in that household. They did not feel at liberty to abandon their post of duty because their surroundings were no longer congenial. [They were now out of their comfort zone but obliged to steadfastly remain and serve there] The truth had found them there, and there they remained, by their changed life and character testifying to the transforming power of their new found faith in Jesus Christ.  Thank you for your prayers.

Let us make daily use of our riches, and ever repair [return] to Him as to our own Lord in covenant, taking from Him the supply of all we need with as much boldness as men take money from their own purse [wallet].

This video presents the truth  for those who seek to learn about and use the providentially protected, preserved and immutable Holy Bible that is both inerrant [without error] and infallible and gives God alone, the utmost praise, and the greatest glory due to HIMSELF. Praise and worship are rightfully insisted upon and commanded in God’s  inspired [God-Breathed (Spoken) Word from God himself.

HOW HAS  THE MAJORITY TEXT AND  THE TEXTUS RECEPTUS BEEN PROVIDENTIALLY PROTECTED AND PRESERVED?

The inspired, god breathed, immortal words, were  uttered, word-by-word, to the  holy prophets and apostles who were chosen of God and moved by the holy ghost. These words are protected and preserved in holy scripture and are written word-by-word and are immutable, [unchanged and unchangeable] without error, and infallible [incapable of mistake or heresy]. and for ever [sic] settled in heaven by God himself in the self-authenticating word of god, itself.

The Authorized (King James) Holy Bible.

The Inside  Story of Westcott and Hort:

Brooke Foss Westcott and Fenton John Anthony Hort  (Text only)

URL:   https://www.febc.edu.sg/article/def_the_inside_story_of_westcott_and_hort

In 1870, The Anglican Church of England passed a resolution to revise the English Bible. The New Testament revision committee which finally consisted of 25 scholars (though only about 16 eventually attended the meetings) which included Westcott and Hort. The committee worked for ten years in the Jerusalem chamber, and these two scholars swept the Revision Committee along with them after work commenced. In fact, the “Cambridge trio” (Westcott, Hort and Lightfoot) colluded with others to dominate the meetings with their views of the text and to defeat any who opposed them. Their *letters reveal this conspiracy:

* Letters from close relatives are quoted in the Inside Story above

The only voice defending the Textus Receptus was Dr Scrivener, probably the foremost scholar of the day in the manuscripts of the Greek New Testament and the history of the Text. But he was systematically outvoted by the Cambridge trio and outdone by Hort’s powerful debating skill. When the revision was completed, the revision committee had altered the Greek Text in 5,337 places,

thus violating the original rule that had been set for the committee of not altering the Greek Text unless absolutely necessary to do so.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, let it be said that no matter how good any modern version of the New Testament is in other ways, it is clearly blemished if the work of Westcott and Hort or Nestle & Aland.is present in it. The presence of their work means that it is based on  defective text. Those who honor the Word of God must not promote any of these versions by the church, not because the content of the version is entirely  evil in itself, but because being contented to use a weakened version rather than the existing, preserved, inerrant unblemished one, dishonors God. If God has preserved for His people a good Greek text of the New Testament for 18 centuries, how dishonoring it must  be to Him if His people now chose versions that are  based on  the defective and inferior  Greek manuscript  invented  by Westcott & Hort or Nestle & Aland.

SACRED LITER[jM1] ATURE:

ORIGINAL: The Pilgrim’s Progress  Pub. by Logos,1853 from 1678 Original by John Bunyan

REVISED TEXT by Barry E. Horner: The Pilgrim’s Progrefs [sic]...

in Pilgrim’s Progress. (The World’s most widely circulated Allegory by John Bunyan, also credited, by some, as being the world’s first English novel.

IT’S FREE. No subscription required. You may choose to read at your own pace, or you may want to view DailySpugeon.com for daily encounters with Pilgrim.)

"Christ in us is Christ reigning." reminds me [Spurgeon's comment] of Mr. Bunyan’s picture of [the town of] Mansoul, …when the Prince Immanuel laid siege to it, and Diabolus from within the city strove to keep him out. It was a, hard time for Mansoul then; but when at last the battering rams had broken down the gates, and the silver trumpets sounded, and the prince’s captains entered the breach, then on a day the prince himself did ride down the city’s streets, while liberated citizens welcomed him with all their hearts, hung out all their streamers, and made the church towers rock again as the bells rang out merry peals [melody] , for the king himself was come. Up to the castle of the heart he rode in triumph, and took his royal throne to be henceforth the sole lord and king of the city.

Christ in you is a right royal word. Christ swaying his scepter from the center of your being over every power and faculty, desire and resolve, bringing every thought into captivity to himself, oh, this is glory begun, and the sure pledge of heaven. Oh for more of the imperial sovereignty of Jesus; it is our liberty to be absolutely under his sway.

ADULT AUDIO Episodes and CHILDREN’S VIDEO Story Parts:

You may choose to read or listen to Pilgrim’s Progress as a bed time story.

It’s the world’s most famous allegory and is the all-time, world-wide best seller second only to the Bible. Some believe it to be the world’s first novel written in English.

It will bless, encourage and instruct pilgrims (readers and seekers) of all ages for a life-time.
