All Bible versions NOT  translated from the Textus Receptus [The (traditional) Received Greek Text] include variant  readings that diminish the full  glory and the most Holy reverence due to Almighty GOD, that He preserves and protects it immutably  in the 1769 Edition of the 1611 King James Version  KJV Bible. This version is also known as the Authorized King James  Version  AKJV and the  Authorized Version AV. ALL GLORY is due to and must be given to the Omnipotent Lord of ALL.

 

The Geneva Bible was also faithfully translated from the Greek Textus Receptus and included  comments favorable to the Protestant Reformation  from inspired, devoted,  faithful Christian men of GOD; They were Puritan Believers known to be  beyond reproach.

This Bible was first brought to Plymouth Massachusetts  in the American Colonies by the Puritan Pilgrims guided by Captain Christopher Jones’s on the Mayflower sailing ship in 1620. A 1592 Edition of the Geneva Bible that belonging to a Mayflower passenger and the Governor of the Plymouth Colony (Later to become the State of   Massachusetts) by William Bradford and is on display at the Pilgrim Hall Museum in Plymouth, Massachusetts, the oldest continuously operating public museum in the United States.

 

The traditional Textus Receptus [Received Greek Text] unlike any other Greek Text was taken  from more than 5,321 original Majority Greek Manuscripts MT that agree 98% with one another. Other variant readings are translations invented by  either Westcott and Hort or Nestle and Aland. These fabricated Greek Texts were translated from only a handful [45] of Majority Text Manuscripts MT and  lack the  trustworthiness of  the inspired 1769 [1611] King James Version, KJV or the Geneva Bible and are the only two translations of the traditional, reliable, inspired, [GOD BREATHED] immutable and providentially and divinely protected Textus Receptus.

Can   DAILYSPURGEON  be trusted? Is it trustworthy?

Is it of God?

YES, it can! Yes, it is!  Here’s why.

 

1 John 4:1-3

Beloved ones, don’t be believing every spirit [everyone or !everything] you hear but be testing the spirit [voice] whether it is of God: because many false prophets have gone [come] out into the world. Here’s how you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit [voice] that confesses [avows] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh, having come[who came] out of God, is of God: and every spirit that confesses not [doesn’t audibly avow] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

 I therefore must and do audibly confess,  that Jesus Christ is come  [is here]  in the flesh.

 

[All translations of the Bible that use a Greek text other than the traditional and faithful Textus Receptus ignore the Greek word “ictin” [the Greek word that means “is” in English].  This omission causes the meaning of “is here” to  be changed from “is” come” [is here] to “has” come”.

 

This error is self-evident because non-believers, false prophets, atheists or heretics can, and frequently do, affirm that Jesus Christ “has come” [in the flesh].

 

While this is a true statement, when taken at face value, the  meaning  “has come” is clearly not the same as “is here”; which is the valid, scriptural test of  discernment to know if words are from the Spirit of God or the spirit of antichrist.

 

The most well documented fact in all of human history is that the Lord Jesus Christ [The Messiah]  “has” come in the flesh. However, the question of much greater importance,  is not whether the spirit [a spoken or written word] being considered and tested confesses that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh but, whether the confession being made affirms that Jesus Christ, “is come” [is here], from God, in the flesh.

 

Ephesians 5:30-32

30 for we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

32 This is a great mystery: but I [The Apostle Paul]  speak concerning Christ and the church.  [The body of CHRIST]

“I speak concerning Christ and the church.” [the fleshly embodiment, here and now ,  of the body of Christ]. Because  followers of Jesus Christ are members of the incarnate Body of Christ [The Church] I affirm and avow that Jesus Christ is here

O, FOR MORE GRACE!

Part 1 of 8

OUR Father, Thou dost [You do] hear us when we pray. Thou hast [You have] provided [the Lord Jesus] an advocate and intercessor in heaven now. We cannot come to Thee [You] unless Thy Holy Spirit shall suggest [the] desire, and help us while we plead. We would ask that the subject which caused such conflict to Paul may be beyond conflict with us; may we know the Christ [Messiah] and have Him to be our all in all. We would have the conflict about others, but may we be past it for ourselves. He is everything to us; more than all in Him we find. We do accept Thee [You] , Lord Jesus, to be made unto us wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. We will not look out [side] of Thee [You] for anything, for everything is in Thee [You]. Our sin is pardoned, our sinful nature is subdued; we have a perfect righteousness [in Jesus]; we have an immortal life; we have a sure hope; we have an immovable foundation. ANECDOTE 123: December 3rd   The Hidden Fountain.

You have seen a noble fountain in a continental city adorning a public square. See how the water leaps into the air; and then it falls into a circular basin which fills and pours out its fullness into another lower down, and this again floods a third. Hear

the merry splash as the waters fall in showers and cataracts from basin to basin! If you stand at the lower basin and look upon it and say, “ Herein is water ;” that is true, and will be true of the next higher one, and so forth; but if you would express the truth as to where the water really is, you may have to look far away, perhaps upon a mountain s side, for there is a vast reservoir from which pipes are laid to bring these waters and force them to their height that they may descend so beautifully. Thus the love we have to our fellow-creatures drops from us like the descending silvery cataract from the full basin, but the first source of it is the immeasurable love of God which is hidden away in his very essence, which never changes, and never can be diminished. Herein is love! If you and I desire to love our fellow Christians and to love the fallen race of man, we must be joined on to the aqueduct which conducts love from this eternal source, or else we shall soon fail in love.

PEACE [IN] WHATEVER EXPOSURE

[PEACEFUL SLEEP UNDER THE STARS]

It is the height of grace that Jehovah should be in covenant with [make a divine, unilateral contract] with man, a feeble, sinful and dying creature. Yet the Lord has solemnly entered into a faithful compact [divine promise] with us, and from that covenant [divine promise] He will never turn aside [deviate or depart]. In virtue of this covenant we are safe. As lions and wolves are driven off by shepherds, so shall all noxious [harmful] influences be chased away. The Lord will give us rest from disturbers and destroyers; the evil beasts shall cease out of the land. O Lord, make this thy promise good [perform this Your promise] even now! The Lord’s people are to enjoy security in places of the greatest exposure: wildernesses and woods are to be as pastures and folds to the flock of Christ. If the Lord does not change the place for the better, He will make us the better in the place. The wilderness is not a place to dwell in, but the Lord can make it so; in the woods one feels bound to watch [compelled to be on guard] rather than to sleep, and yet the Lord giveth [gives] His beloved sleep even there. Nothing without or within should cause any fear to the child of God. By faith the wilderness can become the suburbs of Heaven, and the woods [can become] the vestibule [entry way] of glory.

Prayer: Thank You Lord for Your solemn, unchangeable, divine covenant of peace with us [your chosen, blood bought, born again people]. You promise to cause the evil beasts not to remain but to go out of the land, and You promise to protect us in the wilderness so that we can sleep safely under the stars in the woods. MORNING December 3rd   

 

"THERE IS NO SPOT IN THEE. "—Song of Solomon 4:7

HAVING pronounced His Church positively full of beauty, our Lord confirms His praise by a precious negative, "There is no spot in thee." As if the thought occurred to the Bridegroom that the carping [mocking] world would insinuate that He had only mentioned her comely parts, and had purposely omitted those features which were deformed or defiled, He sums up all by de¬claring her universally and entirely fair [beautiful], and utterly devoid of stain. A spot may soon be removed, and is the very least thing that can disfigure beauty, but even from this little blemish the believer is delivered in his Lord's sight. If He had said there is no hideous scar, no horri¬ble deformity, no deadly ulcer, we might even then have marveled; but when He testifies that she is free from the slightest spot, all these other forms of defilement are included, and the depth of wonder is increased. If He had but promised to remove all spots by-and-by [sometime in the future], we should have had eternal [everlasting] reason for joy; but when he speaks of it as already done, who can restrain the most intense emotions of satisfaction and delight? 0 my soul, here is marrow and fatness [divine nutrition] for you; eat your fill, and be satisfied

with royal dainties [food for a King].

Christ Jesus has no quarrel [does not bicker] with His spouse [bride]. She often wanders from Him and grieves His Holy Spirit, but He does not allow her faults to affect His love. He some¬times chides [corrects], but it is always in the most tender manner with the kindest intentions: it is "my love" even then. He does not remember our follies [silliness], nor cherish ill [negative] thoughts of us, but He pardons and loves as well after the offense as before it. It is well for us it is so, for if Jesus were as mindful of injuries as we are, how could He commune [remain in intimate fellowship] with us? Many a time a believer will put himself out of humor [be offended or angry] with the Lord for some slight turn of providence, but our precious Husband knows our silly hearts too well to take any offense at our ill [bad] manners [lack of courtesy or love toward Him].

EVENING December 3rd   

 

"The Lord mighty in battle. "— Psalm 24:8

WELL may our God be glorious in the eyes of His people, seeing that He has wrought such wonders for them, in them, and by them. For them, the Lord Jesus routed [defeated] every foe [enemy], breaking all the weapons of the enemy in pieces by His finished work of satisfactory obedience on Calvary; by His triumphant resurrection and ascension He completely overturned the hopes of hell [Satan], leading captivity captive, making a show of our enemies openly, triumphing over them by His cross. Every arrow of guilt which Satan might have shot at us is broken, for who can lay anything to the charge of [who can blame anything on] God's elect? Vain [worthless] are the sharp swords of infernal [hellish] malice and the perpetual battles of the serpent's seed, for in the midst of the church the lame [crippled] carry off plunder [booty] and the feeblest warriors are crowned [honored].

The saved may well adore their Lord for His conquests in them [us], since the arrows of their natural hatred are snapped, and the weapons of their rebellion [are] broken. What victories has grace won in [and over] our evil hearts! How glorious is Jesus when the will is subdued, and sin dethroned [knocked off the throne]! As for our remaining corruptions, they shall sustain an equally sure defeat, and every temptation, doubt, and fear shall be utterly destroyed. In the Salem [Shalom] of our peaceful hearts, the name of Jesus is great beyond compare: He has won our love, and He shall wear it. Even thus securely may we [We may even, certainly, surely] look for victories by us [them]. We are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. We shall cast down the powers of darkness in the world by our faith and zeal and holiness. We shall win sinners to Jesus; we shall overturn false systems; we shall convert nations, for God is with us, and none shall stand before us. This evening let the Christian warrior chant the war song and prepare for tomorrow's fight. Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world.

A SINNERS PRAYER (FOR WHOSOEVER):

 

Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21

For "whosoever will" may surely come and take of the water of life freely, because "whosoever will" [one who] is already drawn by the Father! You may hear the word of Christ: "All that the Father giveth me, shall come to me; and him that cometh unto me I will in no wise cast out !"

So, pray and call on the Lord Jesus and be saved … won’t you?

 

(Pray audibly, from your heart:)

 

“Lord Jesus, I’m lost. I’m a selfish, sinful and hopeless sinner. I cannot save myself. Without you and your sacrifice on the cross to save me, I would be hell bound. My sinful nature reveals itself in my sinfulness. I’m totally depraved and I sin because it is my natural born inclination. I know that me doing my best, or being as good as I can, or better than others or making excuses will never be enough to save myself.

I’m lost and I need to be saved.

I look to You, Lord Jesus to save me. Your word states, “It shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21. I call on You, right now Lord Jesus and I believe You will save me.

Thank You, Lord Jesus, that You so loved me that you would and, in fact, did die for me on the cross.

I ask that You forgive all my sins and save me. I’m sorry for all my sins and turn away from each one. Thank you, Lord, for paying, in full, the price of punishment for all my sins and for saving me.

Thank you, Heavenly Father, for your Word, “Look unto me, and be ye saved all the ends of the earth: for I am God and there is none else.” I do look to You in faith expecting to be saved according to this Word.

Thank You for revealing to me, that I’m a sinner and that the wages of sin is death and that eternal life is Your gift through grace by faith provided by the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Thank You, Heavenly Father that you raised Jesus from the dead victorious over sin, death and the grave and that by trusting in Him I will be born again to everlasting life.

* Not only were new converts won to Christ in Caesar's household, but after their conversion they remained to serve in that household.

They did not abandon their post of duty just because their surroundings were no longer congenial [comfortable]. [They were now out of their comfort zone.] The truth had found them there, and there they would remain, and by their changed life and character testify of the transforming power of their faith and new life in Jesus Christ.

Whosoever shall call on the name of the lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21

“Lord Jesus, I’m a sinner. I’m lost and hopeless to save myself. Without your death on the cross  I would spend eternity in Hell’s fire.

Thank you Lord Jesus that You loved me and died for me before I was born and that You have always loved me and will never reject or turn your back on me. I know You are the Way, the Truth and the Life and that no one can come to the Father but by You.  

Thank you, Father that You have caused for me to see myself as I am; a lost sinner.  But,  because of Your love and goodness, You have made a way and given me the desire to come to You, to turn away from my sin and to trust in You, Lord Jesus.  You took my place on the cross and provided the way for  me to be forgiven. Thank You.
Thank You that You prompted a desire in me to believe in You, the only begotten  Son of God who died on the cross to be the sacrifice that would  atone for my sins.

Thank You, Father for Your love that allowed Jesus to suffer and die in my place. Thank You that You raised Jesus from the dead. He is RISEN and is ALIVE and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave and in Christ Jesus I am free.

You raised Jesus from the dead, gave Him a Glorified body and after he was seen by many witnesses on earth You took Him up to reign with You  in heaven.  

Thank you, Father,  for saving me in the name, of Your only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

His ministry continues to flourish from the original (Spurgeon’s)  Metropolitan Tabernacle,  a church fellowship began in 1650 with the present  building constructed by members of the congregation in 1861 and rebuilt after the second world war..

        Spurgeon's written materials are for the edification of the church body as well as a great benefit, blessing and challenge to all readers. Our desire is that the written Word of God will become the Living  Word in each and every reader. To this end, a calendar is indexed (top, right) on the Home page of DailySpurgeon.com for daily study, meditation and prayer. The Pilgrim Progress is the world’s most widely published and most famous Allegory, It was commonly found among he scant possessions in the cabins of the early American Pioneers. It was  loved and  read, second only to the Holy Bible, God’s Word, of guidance, encouragement and comfort. It’s also considered, by some, to be the world’s first English novel and is the most published book of all time. other than the Bible. There were 1,300 editions printed before 1938, 250 years after the author's death. It remains among the world’s most famous literature.

"Christ in us is Christ reigning." reminds me [Spurgeon]  of Mr. Bunyan’s picture of [the town of] Mansoul, …when the Prince Immanuel laid siege to it, and Diabolus from within the city strove to keep him out. It was a, hard time for Mansoul then; but when at last the battering rams had broken down the gates, and the silver trumpets sounded, and the prince’s captains entered the breach, then on a day the prince himself did ride down the city’s streets, while liberated citizens welcomed him with all their hearts, hung out all their streamers, and made the church towers rock again as the bells rang out merry peals [melodies] , for the king himself was come. Up to the castle of the heart [main castle]  he rode in triumph, and took his royal throne to be henceforth the sole lord and king of the city.

       Christ in you is a right royal word. Christ swaying his scepter from the center of your being over every power and faculty, desire and resolve, bringing every thought into captivity to himself, oh, this is glory begun, and the sure pledge of heaven. Oh for more of the imperial sovereignty of Jesus; it is our liberty to be absolutely under his sway.
