The inspired preaching, teaching and writings of Charles Haddon Spurgeon were bedrock solid on God’s revealed Word, the Bible. Spurgeon’s written publications continue to benefit readers through inspired Gospel preaching and sound biblical teaching. His ministry continues to flourish in London’s Metropolitan Tabernacle. (Brief History) a church begun in 1650. The building was constructed by members of the congregation in 1861. It continues to thrive and flourish today.
Charles Haddon Spurgeon’s Conversion in 1850 in his own words.

All Bible versions that are NOT translated from the Textus Receptus [The (traditional) Received Greek Text] include variant readings that diminish the full expressions of glory and the most Holy reverence due to the Omnipotent and Almighty GOD. He preserves and protects it’s immutably in the 1769 Edition of the 1611 King James Version KJV Bible. This version is also known as the Authorized King James Version AKJV and the Authorized Version AV. ALL GLORY is due to and must be given to the Omnipotent and Omnicient LORD of ALL.
The Geneva Bible was also faithfully translated from the Greek Textus Receptus and included comments favorable to the Protestant Reformation from inspired, devoted, faithful Christian men of GOD; They were Puritan Believers known to be beyond reproach.
This Bible was first brought to Plymouth Massachusetts in the American Colonies by the Puritan Pilgrims guided by Captain Christopher Jones’s on the Mayflower sailing ship in 1620. A 1592 Edition of the Geneva Bible that belonging to a Mayflower passenger and the Governor of the Plymouth Colony (Later to become the State of Massachusetts) by William Bradford and is on display at the Pilgrim Hall Museum in Plymouth, Massachusetts, the oldest continuously operating public museum in the United States.
The traditional Textus Receptus [Received Greek Text] unlike any other Greek Text was taken from more than 5,321 original Majority Greek Manuscripts MT that agree 98% with one another. Other variant readings are translations invented by either Westcott and Hort or Nestle and Aland. These fabricated Greek Texts were translated from only a handful [45] of Majority Text Manuscripts MT and lack the trustworthiness of the inspired 1769 [1611] King James Version, KJV or the Geneva Bible and are the only two translations of the traditional, reliable, inspired, [GOD BREATHED] immutable and providentially and divinely protected Textus Receptus.

Bridge to Babylon The 1881 Textual Criticism Controversy

(169 mins.)
The Bridge to Babylon video presents evidence that tracks the explosion of more than 100 new versions of English translations of the Bible. The continuing attempts to replace, add or take away from the 1769 King James Version of the Holy Bible does not prevail because GOD Himself preserves and protects The inspired, inerrant, immutable and infallible Holy Word of GOD from all heresy, blasphemy, confusion , errors, additions, subtractions or changes.

BCE/CE vs. BC/AD Is there a difference?
defend the Truth. Won’t you?
*A.D. does NOT mean “After Death” as many mistakenly believe. It is Latin for Anno Domini, a phrase adopted into English usage that means “Year of [the/our] Lord”. The complete original phrase "anno Domini nostri Jesu Christi" means "in the year of our Lord Jesus Christ”. A.D. and together with B.C. Before Christ is used to divide all history before and after the birth of Jesus the Christ [Messiah]. ...More

Can DAILYSPURGEON be trusted? Is it trustworthy?
Is it of God?
YES, it can! Yes, it is! Here’s why.
Beloved ones, don’t be believing every spirit [everyone or !everything] you hear but be testing the spirit [voice] whether it is of God: because many false prophets have gone [come] out into the world. Here’s how you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit [voice] that confesses [avows] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh, having come[who came] out of God, is of God: and every spirit that confesses not [doesn’t audibly avow] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
I therefore must and do audibly confess, that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh.
[All translations of the Bible that have used a Greek text translation other than the traditional and faithful Textus Receptus have ignored the Greek word “ictin” [this Greek word means “is” in English] and causes the meaning of “is here” to be changed from “is” come” [is here] to “has” come”.
This error is self-evident because non-believers, false prophets, atheists or heretics can, and frequently do, affirm that Jesus Christ “has come” [in the flesh].
While this is a true statement, when taken at face value, the meaning of “has come” is clearly not the same as “is here”; which is the valid, scriptural test of discernment to know if words are from the Spirit of God or the spirit of antichrist.
The most well documented fact in all of human history is that the Lord Jesus Christ [The Messiah] “has” come in the flesh. However, the question of much greater importance, is not whether the spirit [a spoken or written word] being considered and tested confesses that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh but, whether the confession being made affirms that Jesus Christ, “is come” [is here], from God, in the flesh.
Compare and consider [Meditate upon] scripture with scripture: Precept upon precept, Line upon line…
Isaiah 28:10-14

For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
32 This is a great mystery: but I [The Apostle Paul] speak concerning Christ and the church. [The body and Bride of CHRIST]
“I speak concerning Christ and the church.” [the fleshly embodiment, here and now, of the body of Christ]. Because followers of Jesus Christ are members of the incarnate Body of Christ [The Church] I affirm and avow that Jesus Christ is here
[Not “Has come”] in the flesh.

BEST TRANSLATION OF THE BIBLE:
GOD’S HOLY WORD is (Immutable, [unchanging over time, unable to mutate or to be changed], inspired, [God breathed], Self-Authenticating [. Providentially Protected and Preserved and Forever Settled in Heaven, Psalm 119:89). The Authorized King James Version AKJV AKA The Authorized Version, AV. Is faithfully Translated from the preeminent and traditional Greek Textus Receptus [The received Text].
Which Bible Is The Best? (57 min.) David Hocking
David’s Summary (8 min.) The problem is not English, but which Greek text was used to render the English translation.
(AKJV) This Translation is faithfully translated by fully dedicated, preeminent linguists and scholars who were fully devoted followers of The Lord Jesus Christ. The 1611 King James translation is from the inerrant, inspired and immutable Textus Receptus [the Received Text]:
It is The Inspired and Ultimate Stare Decisis [to uphold all things God-Breathed [Inspired Holy Scripture] and therefore eternally decided]
4 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth [says] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh is of God: 3 and every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
Psalm 119:89 ל (Lamed) Forever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven.
Beloved ones, don’t be believing every spirit [everything] you hear but be testing the spirit [voice] whether it is of God: because many false prophets have gone out into the world. Here’s how you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit [voice] that confesses [says] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh, having come from God, is of God: and every spirit that confesses not [doesn’t say] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit [voice] of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already it is in the world.
Therefore, I hereby confess that “Jesus Christ is here, from God, in the flesh.”
[All other English translations of the Bible that use Greek manuscripts other than the Textus Receptus render the English translation as “Has come”.
This erroneous Translation is because inferior Greek manuscripts that do not include the Greek word “ictin” (This is The Greek word for is that is found only in the Textus Receptus) and therefore fail to correctly translate “Is come” [Is Here] into English.
The Authorized King James Version AKJV also known as The Authorized Version AV stand alone to give the correct translation as “is here”.
This error is self- evident, because non-believers, false prophets and even heretics can, and sometimes do, make the confession that He “has come” in the flesh. This is not surprising because the birth of Jesus Christ is arguably the most well documented fact in all of recorded history. Indeed, Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. While this is a true statement, It does not provide the test to discern whether a spirit [voiced or written thing being said] is determined to be either from God or from antichrist. It is true that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh, but it is of essential and crucial importance, that the confession that Jesus Christ, “is here, from God, in the flesh.” Be made aloud.
By Reading and meditating on Scripture in view of other relevant Scripture, God’s Word does indeed self-authenticate:
Therefore we study:
1 John 4:1-3 with Ephesians 5:30-32
30 for we are members of his [Jesus Christs’] body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and His bride the church.
[We are members of His body, flesh and bones, one flesh with Him, as His church].
He was born of a virgin 2025 years ago, and HE is alive today,
and He is coming soon for His bride; The Church.
"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:
God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit,
believed on in the world, received up into glory. "1 Timothy 3:16

It should be the desire of every born-again believer to worship God with all their heart, soul, mind and strength, in Spirit and in truth.
“Study to show yourself approved unto God, a worker that needs not be ashamed, rightly dividing [accurately sharing] the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15
To this end, Heavenly Father, we pray that You will bless all who visit this website and bring many to confess the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. We ask this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
This website does not replace nor can it be a substitute for the in-person, personal assembling of ourselves together. Hebrews 10:23-27
Rather, the Website’s purpose is to save lost sinners and to teach and encourage believers through God’s Word and prayer to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ [The Messiah] in personal discipleship and worship of the Lord Jesus as we are being conformed to His very image. “For whom God did foreknow he did also predestinate to be conformed to the image of his son…” Romans 8:29
We are, instructed in Scripture to assemble, praise and worship God. Thus we worship the Lord Jesus Christ and exhort and provoke one another to do good works.
Such worship takes place through, congregational singing of sacred hymns and spiritual songs, reading, preaching and obeying God’s Word, sharing Christian love and fellowship, agreeing together with specific public prayer requests, and reading and exhorting one another in the Word, to provoke one another to love and serve and bear witness with one another in the Holy Ghost.
Admonition: Online streaming may not satisfy personal interaction, or the fellowship of an in-person assembly. Electronic media cannot substitute for the physical inter-personal fellowship, commitment, and humility, nor does it provide for a kind and comforting touch or embrace of another believer. e.g. Laying on of hands, 1 Timothy 4:14; the right hands of Christian fellowship, Galatians 2:9; or an embrace, Acts 20:1; or greeting with a holy kiss,
We give thanks to the Lord, for DailySpurgeon.com as an instrumentality for building up of fully devoted followers of the Lord Jesus Christ who are being taught and are teaching others to be disciples; Fully devoted followers of The Lord Jesus Christ [The Messiah].
We pray that you will also be an inspired instrumentality of God to share the good news of Jesus Christ with every creature, encouraging them to become the very image of Jesus Christ.
This ministry was begun as daily e-mails of Faith’s Checkbook by Charles H. Spurgeon were sent to Jon Edward Riley. Jon shared these messages with others and soon many wered added to the mailing list as he witnessed and shared his testimony with them.
Jon was called home by his loving Father in Heaven on January 16, 2021 leaving a legacy of this Website to minister to all who will benefit in this labor of Love to the glorify God and His Eternal Kingdom. ALL Glory belongs to God, alone.
Jon is honored; giving honor to whom honor is due. Romans 13:7
We pray that many will be born again, challenged, encouraged, and built-up to become fully devoted followers of the Lord Jesus Christ and be conformed to His image; that they might be the firstborn among many brethren. Romans 8:28-29.

Jon loved to say, “I’m a blood-bought, born-again Child of God!” to anyone he happened to meet or to anyone who would listen.
… Jon’s testimony lives on from one who, by grace, through faith was forever accepted in the Beloved; who’s loving ways brought the good news of Jesus to many. and one who is now present with the LORD in glory forever. One who, one day, we’ll meet again.
Amen.
Jon would sometimes just sing-out some of the following songs on the way to church, or sometimes just singing along with the Elvis Gospel CD that was always in our F-150’s CD player while riding with his Dad or,
Best of all, when an inspired, spontaneous praise from the Lord would just pop out from his joyful, creative, redeemed and loving heart.

The following recordings were discovered several months after Jon was called home on January 16th 2021. It’s a blessing, to hear Elvis sing the Gospel message in song but, of course, it can’t compare with the Glory of being in the actual presence of the LORD.
LIFE by Elvis
*I Can Only Imagine being present with the LORD, or hearing the completed song the Lord completed with Jon when he arrived; a song known only to the Lord, to Jon and the few who heard Jon sing it here. Lyrics remembered from him singing: "See my Jesus, Walkin' on duh Waduh"… an original, inspired song from our beloved Jon, himself a true and renown original.
* Click and sing I CAN ONLY IMAGINE with Wynonna Judd, won’t you?
LOVE WITHOUT END, AMEN (A Father’s Love) by George Strait for George H.W. Bush (41st President) at the Houston Astrodome, one of the President’s favorite songs.
It’s also my sincere message of love to all my children, grand-children and great grand-children etc..
…Jon would always say “Later”; [as in, see-ya later] instead of “good bye”. It was his only farewell greeting when parting company with a friend; and, everyone was Jon’s friend.
… He would never say “good-bye”.
Now, as we remember the sound of him saying “Later”, it rings true in a new and deeper meaning and it brings a joy and comfort to the hearts of those whom he loved so well; those who love him still and will forever more.
… and how much sweeter to us now, are the promises in these two Hymns:
’TILL WE MEET AGAIN. (sing along, won’t you?)

FEATURED SERMONS:
God Appeals to Reason Isaiah 30:15-21 with Dr. Peter Masters
Before conversion, the claims of God mean nothing to us, but when God's Word speaks to our hearts, [by the Holy Spirit] the challenge becomes inescapable [and Irresistible ]. Self-searching begins, and the kindness of God's forgiving love is grasped as never before. Here is God's reasoning with souls.

Christ Prepares His Church
The call of the disciples, their unique role, and the care and patience of Christ in their training. Then the preparation of the church for extreme and persistent opposition, the reasons why demons were cast out, the unpardonable sin, and the supreme mark of true conversion.

The goodness of God is fully demonstrated in the promises He makes in the Bible. That the Creator and Sovereign God should deign to give promises to us is amazing. Here are the major promises, how Christ makes them possible, and how we receive them.

Sanctification (purification, consecration and commitment) by the Word is the will of Christ for His own, and here we turn to the first three of the Ten Commandments to challenge our souls. How should these be applied today in our lives and churches?
Closeness to Christ 2 Timothy 2:10-12 Dr. Peter Masters
In this hostile world, believers cannot live successfully and fruitfully without Christ being with their spirits. Here is why the soul is also called the spirit, and what it means for Christ to be with our spirit. Examples and counsels for securing His nearness.

What Is the Gospel by the late Dr. R. C. Sproul
Christians are called to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but in our day there is confusion about the content of the Gospel. The biblical Gospel is challenged not only by Roman Catholics and liberals, but by those who claim to be evangelical. In this lecture, Dr. R. C. Sproul will clarify exactly what the Gospel is and what it is not.

The Phenomenon of Love Isaiah 63.7 Dr. Peter Masters
The nature and scope of human love is impressive, but Divine love, made visible in history and, supremely in the atoning sacrifice of Christ, is limitless, freely bestowed and certain toward all who find Him. Here are the 'loving-kindnesses of the Lord' they experience.
Living for the Flesh or for the Spirit Romans 8.5-6 Dr. Peter Masters
There are two classes of people in the Bible, those who focus on 'the flesh', and those who relate to the Spirit. Here are the characteristics and goals of each, and how God can free us from the captivity of flesh to know communion with Himself.
Mutual Debts in Marriage 1 Corinthians 7:3 Dr. Peter Masters 15 January 2012
A key word has slipped out of some modern translations – the marital debt of benevolence, meaning goodwill and kind benefits. Here are seven debts each has to the other in Christian marriage, a sevenfold bond and blessing to the crowning earthly friendship of life’s journey, are we paying what is ‘due’?
God’s Order for Man and Women 1 Corinthians Ch 11 Dr. Peter Masters
Paul answers the question on the roles of husbands and wives and affirms conformity to the dress code of head coverings in Greek society at that time. With Calvin and major confessions we show that the ‘message’ of clothing may change in other ages and lands.

Sunday Morning 23 January 2022

PRAYER 21, Part 1 of 8 December 31st BOLDNESS AT THE THRONE OF GRACE
O GOD! we would not speak to Thee as from a distance [as though You were far away], nor stand like trembling Israel under the law at a distance from the burning mount, for we have not come unto Mount Sinai, but unto Mount Sion, [Zion] and that is a place for holy joy and thankfulness, and not for terror and bondage.
Blessed be Thy name, O Lord! We have learnt [learned] to call Thee
“Our Father, which art in heaven”;
so there is reverence, for Thou art in heaven; but there is sweet familiarity, for Thou art our Father. We would [desire to] draw very near to Thee now through Jesus Christ the Mediator, and we would make [become ] bold to speak to Thee as a man speaketh [speaks] with his friend, for hast Thou not said [haven’t You said] by Thy Spirit,
“Let us come boldly unto the throne of the heavenly grace.”
We might well start [run] away and flee from Thy face if we only remembered our sinfulness.
Lord! we do remember it with shame and sorrow; we are grieved to think [that] we should have offended Thee, [and] should have neglected so long Thy sweet love and tender mercy; but we have now returned unto [You], the “shepherd and bishop of our souls.”
Led by such grace, we look to Him whom we crucified, and we have mourned for Him [The Lord Jesus] and then have mourned for our sin. [We praise You for Your unspeakable gift of salvation in Jesus’ name, Amen. You are the Christ [Messiah], Son of the living God.

Anecdote 151: December 31st JOY OF CONVERSION.
I remember hearing Dr. Alexander Fletcher, when speaking to children, tell them a simple anecdote [story] in order to illustrate the joy of a man when he gets delivered from sin. He said, “I saw upon the pavement [in the street] three or four little chimney-sweeps jumping about and throwing up their heels in great delight. And I asked them, My boys, what are you making all this demonstration for? ‘Ah ! said they, if you had been locked up for three months, you would do the same when you once got out of prison.’ ” I thought it a good illustration. We cannot wonder that people are joyous and glad when, after being long shut up in the prison of the law, all sad and miserable, they have felt their bonds broken, seen the door of the jail opened, and obtained a legal discharge. What heed they [bothers them] about trials and troubles, or anything else?
They could leap over the mountains:
“By our God we leap over a wall,” may they say. “A troop may overcome, but we shall overcome at last.” The heart seems scarcely big enough to hold the joy, and it bursts out, hardly knowing what to do or say. Thus, it is at that wondrous hour which comes but once in a Christian’s life, when he first feels himself delivered.
FAITH’S CHECKBOOK December 31st NO STRANGER IN HEAVEN
by C.H. Spurgeon
-Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory- Psalm 73:24
-Hasme guiado segun tu consejo, Y despues me recibiras en Gloria- Salmos 73:24
From day to day and from year to year my faith believes in the wisdom and love of God, and I know that I shall not believe in vain. No good word of His has ever failed, and I am sure that none shall ever fall to the ground. I put myself into His hand for guidance. I know not [don’t know] the way that I should choose:
the Lord shall choose mine inheritance for me. I need counsel and advice; for my duties are intricate, [complicated] and my condition is involved [self absorbed]. I seek to the Lord, as the High Priest of old looked to his Urim [yoor-im] and Thummim [thum-im] [Holy objects of metal or jewels written on with symbols and worn in the breastplate of the high priests and used to determine God’s response [answers] to questions]. I seek the counsel of the infallible God in preference to my own judgment or the advice of friends.
Glorious Jehovah, thou shalt [shall] guide me! Soon the end will come: a few more years, and I must depart out of this world unto the Father. My Lord will be near my bed. He will meet me at Heaven’s gate: He will welcome me to the glory land. I shall not be a stranger in Heaven: my own God and Father will receive me to its endless bliss[Joy].
GLORY BE TO HIM WHO WILL GUIDE ME HERE [On Earth], AND RECEIVE ME HEREAFTER [Into Heaven and unto Himself]. AMEN
Prayer: Thank You Lord for the promise to guide me with Your counsel and at death receive me into glory [Heaven]. . Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. You who have made me will carry me, and will bear my burdens; and deliver me [and all blood-bought children who believe and trust in You.]
Am I such a one? Yes, because I have trusted You, Lord Jesus Christ to save me and to reign over me as Lord.
Thank You Lord Jesus for dying on the cross for me so that as a guilty sinner I am now born again into newness of life in You. I believe God raised You from the dead, victorious over death, the grave and sin. I believe You died on the cross to save me. Thank you, Lord Jesus for saving me, Amen.

… and pray for many souls to be saved and the discipling and strengthening of all believers.
The Lord … is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9
Pray also that believers will be led by the Holy Spirit to rightly divide and proclaim God’s immutable and eternal Word protected and preserved by God, Himself.
John 3:16 God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten [supernaturally fathered] Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but may be having eternal life.
This translation is from the Textus Receptus [Received Text] (The TR is rendered from the overwhelming agreement of the majority of 5,321 extant Greek texts; the Majority Text or MT, and is different in many places from codices Alexandrinus, Sinaiticus and Vaticanus which often, do not agree with one another and introduce modern critical translations which contain variant readings, ambiguities, uncertainties and introduce doubt. They purport to address unsettled, uncertain and variant readings and to “modernize” archaic English words. However, the received, providentially protected and preserved, inspired, self-authenticating Greek text of the TR is uniquely free from sectarian bias, unscriptural dogma or unsettled doctrine and is the Greek Text source of the Authorized King James Version AKA Authorized Version AV.
For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in Heaven. Psalm 119:89
MORNING December 31st
"In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried,
saying, “IF ANY MAN THIRST, LET HIM COME UNTO ME AND DRINK.”
—John 7:37
— Mas en el postrer día grande de la fiesta, Jesús se ponía en píe y clamaba, diciendo: Si alguno tiene sed, venga á mí y beba.¾ Juan 7:37
PATIENCE had her perfect work in the Lord Jesus, and until the last day of the feast He pleaded with the Jews, even as on this last day of the year [December 31st ] He pleads with us, and waits to be gracious to us. Admirable indeed is the longsuffering [the patiently waiting] of the Savior in bearing [putting up] with some of us year after year, notwithstanding [not considering] our provocations, rebellions, and resistance of His Holy Spirit. Wonder of wonders [it’s so amazing] that we are still in the land of mercy!
PITY [compassionate sympathy] expressed herself most plainly, for Jesus cried, which implies not only the loudness of His voice, but the tenderness of His tones [His sweet intonation]. He entreats [earnestly desires] us to be reconciled [forgiven and in a right relationship with God].
"We pray you," says the Apostle, "as though God did beseech [seek, reach and invite] you by us."
What earnest, [empathetic] terms are these! How deep must be the love that makes the Lord weep over sinners and woo [draw] His children to His bosom [heart]! Surely at the call of such a cry our willing hearts will come.
Provision is made most plenteously; all is provided that man can need to quench [fully satisfy] his soul's thirst [his heart’s aching desire].
-
To his [the sinners] conscience the atonement [heavenly ransom paid by Jesus’ death on the cross] brings peace;
-
to his [the sinners] understanding the gospel [good-news of Jesus Christ] brings the richest instruction;
-
to his [the sinners] heart the person of Jesus is the noblest object of affection;
-
to the whole man the truth as it is in Jesus supplies the purest nutriment [nourishment].
Thirst is terrible, but Jesus can remove it. Though the soul were utterly famished, Jesus could [can] restore it.
Proclamation is made more freely, that every thirsty one is welcome. No other distinction is made but that of thirst. Whether it be the thirst of
avarice [greedy after money or material things],
ambition [self-centered desire for fame or power],
pleasure,
knowledge, or
rest,
he who suffers from it is invited.
The thirst may be bad in itself, and be no sign of grace, but rather a mark of inordinate [over-the top, self-centered, obsessive] sin longing to be gratified with deeper draughts of lust [larger quantities of uncontrollable desire]; but it is not goodness in the creature [the unsaved person] which brings him the invitation: the Lord Jesus sends it freely and without respect of persons. [He doesn’t have favorites.]
No waiting or preparation is so much as hinted at [not even mentioned or suggested] [Come just as you are, now]. Drinking represents a reception for which no fitness is required. A fool, a thief, a harlot [prostitute] can drink; and so sinfulness of character is no bar [rejection] to the invitation to believe in Jesus. We want no golden cup, no bejeweled chalice [fancy drinking cup], in which to convey the water to the thirsty; the mouth of poverty is welcome to stoop down and quaff [drink] the flowing flood. Blistered, leprous, filthy lips may touch the stream of divine love; they cannot pollute it, but shall themselves be purified. Jesus is the fount [fountain] of hope. Dear reader, hear the dear Redeemer's loving voice as He cries to each of us
"if any man thirst, let him come unto Me and drink."
EVENING December 31st "THE HARVEST IS PAST, THE SUMMER IS ENDED, AND WE ARE NOT SAVED."— Jeremiah 8:20
—Pasóse la siega, acabóse el verano, y nosotros no hemos sido salvos— Jeremías 8:20.
NOT saved! Dear reader, is this your mournful [sad] plight? Warned of the judgment to come, bidden [invited] to escape for your life, and yet at this moment not saved! You know the ways of salvation; you read it in the Bible, you hear it from the pulpit; it is explained to you by friends; and yet you neglect it and therefore are not saved.
You will be without excuse when the Lord judges the quick [living] and [the]dead. The Holy Spirit has given [sometimes] more or [sometimes] less of blessing [anointing] on the word which has been preached in your hearing, and times of refreshing have come from the divine presence [of God], and yet you are without Christ. All these hopeful seasons have come and gone—your summer and your harvest have past—and yet you are not saved.
Years have followed one another into eternity, and your last year will soon be here: youth has gone, manhood is going, and yet you are not saved.
Let me ask you Will you ever be saved? Is there any likelihood of it? Already the most propitious [promising] seasons have left you unsaved; will other occasions alter your condition?
Means [Different methods] have failed with you—the best of means, used perseveringly [used continuously and consistently ] and with the utmost affection—what more can be done for you? Affliction [sickness] and prosperity have alike failed to impress you; tears and prayers and sermons have been wasted on your barren [unfruitful, hard] heart. Are not the probabilities dead against your ever being saved? Is it not more than likely that you will abide as you are until death forever bars [locks] the door of hope? Do you recoil from the supposition? [Do you shudder at the thought?]
Yet it is a most reasonable one: he who is not washed in so many waters will in all probability go filthy to his end. The convenient time never has come, why should it ever come? It is logical to fear that it never will arrive, and that like Felix, [King Felix of the Bible] you will find no convenient season until you are in hell. 0 think of what that hell is, and of the dread probability that you will soon be cast into it! Reader, suppose you should die unsaved. No words can picture your doom.
Write out [about] your dread estate [eternal destiny] in tears and blood, talk of it with groans and gnashing of teeth; you will be punished with everlasting destruction from the glory of the Lord and from the glory of His power. A brother's voice would fain [gladly, willingly] startle [scare] you into earnestness [seeing its reality]. 0 be wise, be wise in time, and before another year begins believe in Jesus, who is able to save to the uttermost. Consecrate [set aside] these last hours to lonely thought, and if deep repentance be bred in you, it will be well; and if it lead to a humble [unassuming. simple, child-like] faith in Jesus, it will be best of all.
0 see to it [make sure] that this year pass not away [doesn’t pass away], and leave you an unforgiven spirit [person]. Let not the new year's midnight peals sound [bells ring] on a joyless spirit! Now, now, NOW, believe, and live.
"Escape for thy life;
Look not behind thee,
Neither stay thou in all the plain;
Escape to the mountain,
Lest thou be consumed."
Am I your child, Heavenly Father? Have I trusted my life into the nail scarred hands of Jesus Christ as my Savior and asked that He reign over me as Lord? [Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth [any one, every one] : for I am God, and there is none else. LOOK to Jesus the Savior], and be saved!] LOOK! LOOK NOW!! Isaiah 45:22
I do look, NOW trusting You in faith, and believing that You have saved me. And, Lord Jesus, I do believe that God has raised you from the dead, up from the grave and all victorious over sin and the devil. Thank You for taking my place and paying my sin debt on the cross and giving me eternal life. In your name, Lord Jesus I pray, Amen. Hallelujah!

A SINNER’S PRAYER:
… FOR WHOSOEVER:
Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21
Call on the name of the Lord Jesus and be saved … pray like this, won’t you?
“Lord Jesus, I’m a lost sinner and without You I am lost. I can’t save myself. Without your death on the cross to pay my sin debt I would be condemned to spend eternity in Hell. My nature and behavior has been sinful from birth. Please forgive me.
I realize that doing my best, being as good as possible, or being better than other people can never save me. . I’m sorry for each and every sin I have ever done and look to You to forgive them all.
I look to You, alone Lord Jesus to save me.
I call on You, Lord Jesus, right now to save me. You died on the cross for me, as God’s sacrifice for my sin.
Right now, just as I am, I call on You, Lord Jesus to save me, I trust You to be my Savior and Lord.
Thank You, Lord Jesus, that You have forgiven me of all my sins. I want to follow You from now on.
You paid the price for all of my sins by dying on the cross.
Thank you, Lord Jesus that You loved me and died for me before I was born and that You love me still
Thank you, Heavenly Father, that You called me away from sin and death into the Life everlasting in Your only begotten son, the Lord Jesus.
Thank You, Heavenly Father that you raised Jesus from the dead. He is alive and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave.
Thank You for saving me heavenly Father and Holy Spirit for Your comfort and guidance in all things.
With all my heart, thank you Lord Jesus for saving me. In your name, I pray, Amen.
Please allow us to share the joy of your new birth with heaven. Heaven rejoices over each redeemed sinner. Luke 15:7
