PRAYER 15, Part 4 of 9 

THE PEACE OF GOD.
 

O, Spirit of God, dwell in us. Is not [Isn’t] this also a covenant [God’s divine] promise, “I will put My Spirit within thee [you], and I will make thee [you]  to walk in My ways.” 

 

Dwell with us Holy Spirit; rule over us Holy Spirit; transform us to Thy [Your] own likeness, O Holy Spirit! Then shall we be clean; then shall we keep the law. We would [hereby] offer a prayer to Thee [You]  for those who are quite strange to the work of the Spirit of God, who have never owned [claimed] their God, who have lived as if there were no God. Open their eyes that they may see [You], God even though that sight should make them tremble and wish to die. O! let none of us live without [You] our God and Father.

 ANECDOTE 102:  Making Idols of Children.

 

A mother who had lost her babe fretted and rebelled about it. She happened to be in a meeting of the Society of Friends [Quakers] and there was nothing spoken that morning except this word by one female Friend who was moved, I doubt not, [don’t doubt] by the Spirit of God to say,  

“Verily, I perceive, that children are idols.”  

She did not know the condition of that mourner’s mind but it was the right word and she to whom God applied it knew how true it was. She submitted her rebellious will, and then, as if it were magic, was at once comforted.

THE LORD’S  FREE MEN
 

-For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace-  Romans 6:14

Sin will reign if it can: it cannot be satisfied with any place below [lower than] the throne of the heart. We sometimes fear that it will conquer us, and then we cry unto the Lord, -Let not any iniquity have dominion over me-.

 

This is His comforting answer, -Sin shall not have dominion over you-. It may assail [fly at] you, and even wound [injure] you; but it shall never establish sovereignty [have dominion] over you. If we were under the law, our sin would gather strength and hold us under its power; for it is the punishment of sin that a man comes under the power of sin.

 

As we are under the covenant of grace, we are secured against departing from the living God by the sure declaration of the covenant [divine promise of God] . Grace is promised to us, by which we are restored from our wanderings, cleansed from our impurities, and set free from the chains of habit. 

 

We might lie down in despair and be -content to serve the Egyptians [the world]- if we were still as slaves working for eternal life; but since we are the Lord’s  free-men, we take courage [from Him] to fight with [against]  our corruptions and temptations, being assured that sin shall never bring us under its sway [dominion] again.

 

God Himself giveth [gives] us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. 

Prayer: Thank You Father,  that sin shall not have dominion over me because You keep me and all those who have accepted Your salvation by grace through faith.

I Trust You, who died for me, in my place, and then, rose again by the Father’s hand, after the debt for the sin of all who would believe was paid, in full.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.  Ephesians 2:8-9
 

Thank You Lord that we are now under grace and free from the curse of the law and the dominion of sin.  Please empower me by the Holy Spirit to confess and forsake all my sins and  to whole-heartedly turn away from each and every one reckoning [considering] myself to be dead to them in the name of the Lord Jesus, Amen.

vis. Textus Receptus [The Received Greek Text] (From an overwhelming majority of extant New Testament Greek manuscripts)

 

The Incomplete codices Sinaiticus and Vaticanus are not considered to be included in the majority texts [Masoretic and Textus Receptus]. They bring variant readings from the overwhelmingly established, in majority texts.  They disagreed often with one another as well as with the settled majority texts thus, attempting to justify, the need for additional editions.  These unsettled differences and bolstering of certain sectarian doctrine [dogma] have produced many ambiguous readings; translations not supported by majority Greek and Hebrew texts and confusion with the explosion of so many new translations of the Bible.

 

Publishers cash-in by marketing the “new and better”,  never ceasing, English translations of The Bible, [World’s best seller of all time] with too little consideration for maintaining the fidelity and accuracy already settled from the majority manuscripts of the Masoretic Hebrew and the Textus Receptus Greek.

 

God, Himself, preserves His immutable [unchanging and unchangeable], eternal, inerrant, infallible, infinite and all-powerful Word.

MORNING   November 11 

"Underneath are the everlasting arms. "— Deuteronomy 33:27

       GOD—the eternal God—is Himself our support at all times, and especially when we are sinking in deep trouble.  There are seasons when the Christian sinks very low in humiliation. Under a deep sense of his great sinfulness, he is humbled before God until he scarcely knows how to pray, because in his own sight he appears so worthless. 

 

Well, child of God, remember that when you are at your worst and lowest, yet  "underneath are the everlasting arms." Sin may drag you ever so low, but Christ's great atonement is still under all. You may have descended into the deeps, but you cannot have fallen so low as "the uttermost"; and to the uttermost He saves. 

 

Again, the Christian sometimes sinks very deeply in sore trial from without. Every earthly prop is cut away. What then? Still underneath him are "the everlasting arms."  He cannot fall so deep in distress and affliction that the covenant grace  [unmerited favor] of an ever faithful God cannot still encircle him. The Christian may be sinking under trouble from within through fierce conflict, but even then, he cannot be brought so low as to be beyond the reach of the "everlasting arms." They are underneath him, and, while thus sustained, all Satan's efforts to harm him avail nothing.

 

This assurance of support is a comfort to any weary but earnest worker in the service of God. It implies a promise of strength for each day, grace for each need, and power for each duty. And, further, when death comes, the promise will still hold good. 

 

When we stand in the midst of Jordan [near death], we will be able to say with David, "I will fear no evil, for Thou art with me." We shall de­scend into the grave, but we shall go no lower, for the eternal arms prevent our further fall. All through life, and at its close we shall be upheld by the "everlasting arms"—arms that neither flag [flap, purposelessly in the wind] nor lose their strength, for "the everlasting God fainteth  [faints] not, neither is weary [never gets tired]."

 EVENING     November 11

       BELIEVER, if your inheritance be a lowly one you should be satisfied with your earthly portion; for you may rest assured that it is the fittest  [best fit]  for you.  Un­erring wisdom ordained your lot and selected for you the safest and best condition.

     

 A ship of large tonnage [very heavy] is to be brought up the river; now, in one part of the stream there is a sandbank; should someone ask, "Why does the captain steer through the deep part of the channel and deviate [turn back and forth] so much from a straight line?"  His answer would be, "Because I would not get my vessel into harbor at all if I did not keep to the deep channel." 

 

 So, it may be  [that] you would run aground and suffer ship­wreck if your divine Captain  [The Lord Jesus]  did not steer you into the depths of affliction where waves of trouble follow each other in quick succession. 

 

Some plants die if they have too much sunshine. It may be that you are planted where you get but little [sunshine]; you are put there by the loving Husbandman [Gardener] , because only in that situation will you bring forth fruit unto perfection.

      

Remember this,  had any other condition been better for you than the one in which you are, divine love would have put you there. You are placed by God in the most suitable circum­stances, and if you had the choosing of your lot  [future], you would soon cry, "Lord, choose my inheritance for me, for by my self-will  [by my will] I am pierced through with many sor­rows." Be content with such things as you have, since the Lord has ordered all things for your good.

 

Take up your own daily cross; it is the burden best suited for your shoulder and will prove most effective to make you perfect in every good word and work to the glory of God.  

 

Down [with your] busy self and proud impatience; it is not for you to choose, but for the Lord of Love!

Trials must and will befall—
But with humble faith to see 
Love inscribed upon them all; 
This is happiness to me..

                 A  SINNER’S  PRAYER

Whosoever shall call on the name of the lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21

 Pray and call on the name of the Lord Jesus, like this. Won’t you? 

“Lord Jesus, I’m a sinner. I’m lost and hopeless to save myself. Without you and your blood that was shed for me and Your death on the cross  I would spend eternity in Hell’s fire.

Thank you Lord Jesus that You love me and died for me before I was born and that You have always loved me and will never reject or turn your back on me. I know You are the Way, the Truth and the Life and that no one can come to the Father but by You.  

Thank you, Father that You have caused for me to see myself as I am; a lost sinner.  But,  because of Your love and goodness, You have made a way and given me the desire to come to You, to turn away from my sin and to trust in You, Lord Jesus.  You took my place on the cross and provided the way for  me to be forgiven. Thank You.
Thank You that You prompted a desire in me to believe in You, the only begotten  Son of God who died on the cross to be the sacrifice that would  atone for my sins.

Thank You, Father for Your love that allowed Jesus to suffer and die in my place. Thank You that You raised Jesus from the dead. He is RISEN and is ALIVE and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave and in Christ Jesus I am free.

You raised Jesus from the dead, gave Him a Glorified body and after he was seen by many witnesses on earth You took Him up to reign with You  in heaven.  

Thank you, Father,  for saving me in the name, of Your only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

His ministry continues to flourish from the original (Spurgeon’s)  Metropolitan Tabernacle,  a church fellowship began in 1650 with the present  building constructed by members of the congregation in 1861 and rebuilt after the second world war..

        Spurgeon's written materials are for the edification of the church body as well as a great benefit, blessing and challenge to all readers. Our desire is that the written Word of God will become the Living  Word in each and every reader. God has preserved His Word through  The Masoretic Hebrew and Aramaic languages of the Old Testament and the GreekTextus Receptus of the New Testament:
 

In contrast, the Incomplete and unsealed codices of Sinaiticus and Vaticanus are not translated from the  5,321 Majority Text Greek manuscripts, that became the Textus Receptus [Original Masoretic Hebrew and the Greek Textus Receptus].

 

The Sinaiticus and Vaticanus manuscripts  present variant readings rather than that of the well-established and settled majority Texts. They disagree often with one another as well as with the settled majority texts. Thus, an attempt to create a pretext that will continue to justify a never-ending demand for additional editions and interpretations. These unsettled differences and bias in certain sectarian doctrine [dogma] have led to the production of multiple “modern” editions with ambiguities, many variant readings and confusion from the explosion of unending, new editions.

Profit-driven publishers have embraced such an economic windfall to sell a continual flow of “new and better” English edition of The Bible. They give too little attention to the fidelity and accuracy already settled [in heaven] in majority manuscripts of the Masoretic Hebrew and the  Greek Textus Receptus.

God, Himself, providentially protects and preserves His Word. His Word is the God-breathed, self-authenticating, immutable [unchanging and unchangeable], eternal, inerrant, infallible, infinite and all-powerful Word, settled in heaven. He is not the author of confusion.

The Hebrew Masoretic Text copied faithfully by Masoretic scribes was the original Old Testament. (The Jewish Tanakh) is the Hebrew source from which translations into other languages were made. These manuscripts are providentially protected of God and always give the greatest glory to God when compared to other translations.  Editorial notations, variant and sometimes ambiguous readings taken from Codices Vaticanus, or Sinaiticus consistently allow  nuanced meanings to diminish God’s Omnipotence, Omniscience, Omnipresence or other divine attributes from being fully voiced.

 

The Authorized King James version is unique also in that the requirement of Great Brittan that all King James bibles be printed only by the Cambridge University Press, The Crown’s Authorized Printer. No other [person or publisher] may print, copy or import the King James Bible into Great Brittan by order of the Crown.

 

Printed Prayer: Printed prayers must not be read or offered as a substitute for personal, fervent, effectual, heart-felt, prayer. The above link is to search for specific words or Scriptures in the King James inerrant and infallible  English Version  (KJV)  because it is providentially protected and preserved by GOD Himself through the only translation into English by faithful brethren from the 5,312 established majority text manuscripts MT from which the New Testament  Greek Textus Receptus [received text] was taken  and the Hebrew Masoretic Text of the Old Testament (Jewish Tanakh).  These manuscripts are providentially protected, and give greater glory to God when compared to the variant readings of all post KJV  translations. Modern Critical Texts are based on only 55 hand picked Greek manuscripts fabricated from either Westcott and Hort or Nestle and Aland. Both of these Greek textual sources make the assumption that OLDER IS BETTER. Of course, this assumption is not valid in any place   the older manuscripts err from the Textus Receptus..

 

The established majority manuscripts and the Textus Receptus avoid doctrinal error, and inaccuracies in translation, uninspired editorial notations, variant or ambiguous readings which taken from Codices Vaticanus, or Sinaiticus.

Copyright: The King James Version is also distinguished by the requirement of Great Brittan that all King James bibles be printed by the Cambridge University Press, the Crown’s authorized printer. No one other than the Crown’s printer, is allowed print, copy or import the King James Bible into Great Brittan by order of the Crown.

 

In the United States there is no Copyright protection to restrict the free printing of the KJV. It is the only Bible version that may be printed freely as Public Domain. Any  new publication that changes 10% or more of any existing  publication may procure a lucrative Copyright protection to restrict unauthorized printing of the new publication. Therefore,  the NKJV, NIV and many other modern  translations. Only the King James Version New Testament is unique from among the over 100 English translations that follow modern textual criticism and only the King James is faithfully translated from the well-established  Greek Textus Receptus as the  Primary time tested and self-authenticating Greek Source.

The inspired, god breathed, immortal words, were  uttered, word-by-word, to the  holy prophets and apostles who were chosen of God and moved by the holy ghost. These words are protected and preserved in holy scripture and are written word-by-word and are immutable, [unchangeable] without error, and infallible [incapable of making a mistake or being wrong]. and for ever [sic] settled in heaven by God himself in the self authenticating word of god, itself.

In 1870, The Anglican Church of England passed a resolution to revise the English Bible. The New Testament revision committee which finally consisted of 25 scholars (though only about 16 eventually attended the meetings) which included Westcott and Hort. The committee worked for ten years in the Jerusalem chamber, and these two scholars swept the Revision Committee along with them after work commenced. In fact, the “Cambridge trio” (Westcott, Hort and Lightfoot) colluded with others to dominate the meetings with their views of the text and to defeat any who opposed them. Their *letters reveal this conspiracy:

The only voice defending the Textus Receptus was Dr Scrivener, probably the foremost scholar of the day in the manuscripts of the Greek New Testament and the history of the Text. But he was systematically outvoted by the Cambridge trio and outdone by Hort’s powerful debating skill. When the revision was completed, the revision committee had altered the Greek Text in 5,337 places,

thus violating the original rule that had been set for the committee of not altering the Greek Text unless absolutely necessary to do so.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, let it be said that no matter how good any modern version of the New Testament is in other ways, it is clearly blemished if the work of Westcott and Hort or Nestle & Aland.is present in it. The presence of their work means that it is based on  defective text. Those who honor the Word of God must not promote any of these versions by the church, not because the content of the version is entirely  evil in itself, but because being contented to use a weakened version rather than the existing, preserved, inerrant unblemished one, dishonors God. If God has preserved for His people a good Greek text of the New Testament for 18 centuries, how dishonoring it must  be to Him if His people now chose versions that are  based on  the defective and inferior  Greek manuscript  invented  by Westcott & Hort or Nestle & Aland.

 

Let the biblical story of Nadab and Abihu be a lesson for us all:
