A SINNER’S PRAYER

PRAYER 8, Part 1 OF 7: September 9th A PRAYER FOR HOLINESS. By C H Spurgeon
OUR Father, we worship and love Thee; and it is one point of our worship that Thou art [are] holy. Time was when we loved Thee for Thy mercy; we knew no more; but now, Thou hast [have] changed our hearts and made us in love with goodness, purity, justice, true holiness; and we understand now why
“the cherubim and seraphim [angles] continually do cry, Holy, Holy, Lord God of hosts,”
We adore Thee because Thou art holy, and we love Thee for Thine [Your] infinite perfection. For now, we sigh and cry after holiness ourselves. Sanctify us wholly, spirit, soul and body. Lord, we mourn over the sins of our past life and our present shortcomings. We bless Thee Thou hast [have] forgiven us; we are reconciled to Thee by the death of Thy Son. There are many who know that they have been washed, and that He that beareth [carries] away sin has borne [carried] their sin away. These are they who now cry to Thee to be delivered from the power of sin, to be delivered from the power of temptation without, [outside of us] but especially from indwelling sin within.
Lord, purify us in head, [thoughts] heart [desires] and hand [deeds]; and if it be needful that we should be put into the fire to be refined as silver is refined, we would even welcome the fire if we may be rid of the dross [sin].
Lord, save us from constitutional, [fleshly] sin from sins of temperament [thought and attitude] , from sins of our surroundings [peer pressure, and all besetting sin].
Save us from ourselves in every shape, and grant us especially, to have the light of love strong within us.
[In the name of the Lord Jesus] Amen. (Attachment: PRAYER 7.doc)

ANECDOTE 40: September 9th Yoked with Christ
When bullocks are yoked, there are generally two. I have watched them in Northern Italy, and noticed that when two are yoked together, and they are perfectly agreed, the yoke is always easy to both of them. If one were determined to lie down and the other to stand up, the yoke would be very uncomfortable; but when they are both of one mind you will see them look at each other with those large, lustrous, brown eyes of theirs so lovingly, and with a look they read each other’s minds, so that when one wants to lie down, down they go, or when one wishes to go forward, forward they both go, keeping step. In this way the yoke is easy.
Now I think the Savior says to us,
“I am bearing [carrying] one end of the yoke on my shoulder; come, my disciple, place your neck under the other side of it, and then learn of me. Keep in step with me, be as I am, do as I do. I am meek and lowly in heart; your heart must be like mine, and then we will work together in blessed fellowship, and you will find that working with me is a happy thing ; for my yoke is easy to me, and will be to you. Come, then, true yoke-fellow, come and be yoked with me, take my yoke upon you, and learn of me.”

FAITH’S CHECKBOOK September 9th FEAR HAS ITS PLACE by C.H. Spurgeon
-Happy is the man that feareth [the Lord] always- Proverbs 28:14
-Bienaventurado el hombre que siempre esta temeroso- Proverbios 28:14
SING: Praise Him, Praise Him written by Fanny J. Crosby sung by The Hymn Club (Sing-along won’t you?)
The fear of the Lord is the beginning and the foundation of all true religion [wisdom]. Without a solemn awe and reverence of God there is no foothold [starting place] for the more brilliant virtues.
He whose soul does not worship will never live in holiness.
He is happy who feels a jealous fear of doing wrong.
Holy fear looks not only before it leaps, but even before it moves. It is afraid of error, afraid of neglecting duty, afraid of committing sin. It fears ill [bad] company, loose talk, and questionable policy [rules and practices]. This [fear] does not make a man wretched, but it brings him happiness. The watchful sentinel is happier than the soldier who sleeps at his post.
He who forseeth [foresees] evil and escapes it is happier than he who walks carelessly on [ahead] and is destroyed. Fear of God is a quiet grace which leads a man along a choice [well chosen] road, of which it is written,
-No lion shall be there, neither shall any ravenous beast go up thereon.-
Fear of the very appearance of evil is a purifying principle, which enables a man, through the power of the Holy Spirit, to keep his garments [clothes] unspotted from the world. In both senses he that -feareth always- is made happy. Solomon [David’s son and the writer of the book of Proverbs] had tried both worldliness and holy fear:
in the one he found vanity, in the other happiness.
Let us not repeat his trial, but abide by his verdict [truth].
Prayer: Thank You Heavenly Father, that You give me a holy fear of
bad company, loose talk, and questionable practices.
Fear, even of the appearance of evil, checks [tempts] my lower nature to yield to worldly temptations.
I love and worship You in awe and with holy fear and respect in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ [The Messiah] and for His sake, Amen.

… and pray that many souls will be saved and many believers built up, according to His perfect Word:
The Lord … is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
2 Peter 3:9
Pray also that believers will be taught God’s eternal Word that had been protected and preserved by God, Himself through the Holy Ghost.
God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten [supernaturally fathered] Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but may be having [have] eternal life. John 3:16
vis. The Textus Receptus TR [Received Text] is faithfully taken from an overwhelming agreement among the majority of the 5,312 extant New Testament Greek manuscripts from which the Majority Text MT, was rendered. The Textus Receptus was therefore established without using defective codices, Sinaiticus and Vaticanus whose readings often do nor agree with one another and serve to justify the proliferation of new editions of versions that publish unsettled controversies and denominational biases rather than the preserved accuracy and reliability of the traditional Textus Receptus.

MORNING September 9th
I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not."—Jeremiah 33:3
—Te enseñaré cosas grandes y dificultosas que tú no sabes—Jeremías 33:3
THERE are different translations of these words. One version renders it "I will shew thee great and fortified things"; another, "Great and reserved things. "[Spanish: “Great and difficult things.”]
Now, there are reserved and special things in Christian experience: all the developments of spiritual life are not attained with the same ease. There are the common frames [experiences] and feelings of repentance, and faith, and joy, and hope, which are enjoyed by the entire family; but there is an upper realm of rapture, of communion, and conscious union with Christ, which is far from being the common dwelling place of believers.
We all have not the high privilege of John, to lean upon Jesus' bosom; nor of Paul, to be caught up into the third heaven. There are heights in experimental [experiential] knowledge of the things of God which the eagle's eye of acumen and philosophic thought have never seen:
God alone can bear us there; but the chariot in which He takes us up and the fiery steeds with which that chariot is dragged are prevailing prayers.
Prevailing prayer is victorious over the God of mercy.
"By his strength he had power with God: yea,[Oh yes!] he had power over the angel , and prevailed: he wept, and made supplication unto Him: he found Him in Beth-el, and there He spake [spoke] with us." Prevailing prayer takes the Christian to [Mount] Carmel and enables him to cover heaven with clouds of blessing, and earth with floods of mercy. Prevailing prayer bears the Christian aloft to [Mount] Pisgah and shows him the inheritance reserved; it elevates us to [Mount] Tabor and trans-figures us, till in the likeness of our Lord, as He is, so are we also in this world.
If you would reach to something higher than ordinary groveling [self-centered and presumptuous] experience, look to the Rock [Jesus Christ] that is higher than you, and gaze with the eye of faith through the window of importunate [inconvenient yet continual] prayer.
SING: [won’t you] Lead me to the Rock
https://youtu.be/OmHBj_WeBmY
When you open the window on your side, it will not be bolted [locked] on the other [side].

EVENING September 9th
"And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment [white robes]. " —Revelation 4:4
—Y alrededor del trono había veinticuatro sillas: y vi sobre las sillas veinticuatro ancianos sentados, vestidos de ropas blancas —Apocalipsis 4:4
THESE representatives of the saints in heaven are said to be around the throne. In the passage in Song of Solomon, where Solomon sings of the King sitting at His table, some render it "a round table." From this, some expositors, I think without straining the text, have said,
“There is an equality among the saints.”
That idea is conveyed by the equal nearness of the four and twenty elders. The condition of glorified spirits in heaven is that of nearness to Christ, clear vision of His glory, constant access to His court, and familiar fellowship with His person; nor is there any difference in this respect between one saint and another, but all the people of God—apostles, martyrs, ministers, or private and obscure Christians—shall all be seated near the throne where they shall forever gaze on [look upon] their exalted Lord, and be satisfied with His love.
They will all be near to Christ, all ravished with His love, all eating and drinking at the same table with Him, all equally beloved as His favorites and friends even if not all equally rewarded as servants.
Let believers on earth imitate the saints in heaven in their nearness to [Jesus] Christ. Let us on earth be as the elders are in heaven, sitting around the throne. May [Jesus] Christ be the object of our thoughts, the center of our lives. How can we endure to live at such a distance from our Beloved? Lord Jesus, draw [bring] us nearer to Yourself! Say to us,
"Abide in Me, as I am also in you;"
and permit us to sing,
"His left hand is under my head, and His right hand doth embrace me."
0 lift me higher, nearer Thee,
And as I rise, more pure and meet,
0 let my soul's humility
Make me lie lower at Thy feet;
Less trusting self, the more I prove
The blessed comfort of Thy love.

A SINNER’S PRAYER:
A person (YOU) may come to Jesus by believing and (whole heartedly) praying and confessing The Lord Jesus publicly like this:
“Lord Jesus, I’m a sinner. I’m lost and hopeless without You. I will never be able to save myself by my own merits. Without you and your death on the cross I would spend eternity in Hell.
I know that me doing my best or being good (in my own opinion) and justifying my own behavior as "good" or "OK" will never save me.
I look to You, alone Lord Jesus to save me.
I come to You right now. Lord Jesus. Please save me. I believe You died on the cross in my place to pay for my sin debt and put to death my sin nature. I know You always keep your word. Please save me. You say and it’s written in the Bible that you won’t reject anyone who comes to You. I'm coming to You now. Thank You for saving me.
I give myself (all of myself) to You, Lord Jesus. I declare that You are my Savior and Lord. I’m sorry for and I turn away from every sin (every bad thought, every bad word I have spoken and every bad thing I have ever done) and look to You free me from the penalty of sin, to keep me free from the power of sin and empower me overcome any temptation from sin’s presence. Thank you for forgiving all of my sins by dying on the cross to pay the punishment that I deserve. (I was a sinner by nature and by behavior). But now I'm washed clean by Your blood that was shed [poured out] for me at Calvary [at the cross].
Thank you Lord Jesus that You loved me and died for me before I was born and that You love me now and will always love me and will never reject or turn your back on me. I know You are the Way, the Truth and the Life and that no one can come to the Father other than by You.
Thank you Father that You have made a way for me to see myself as ungodly. But, because You are good You have made a way and given me the desire to come to You, to turn away from my sin and to trust in the Lord Jesus. You have forgiven me because He took my place and You have provided for me to be born again [born from above, born of the Holy Spirit].
You prompted this desire and faith to believe in Your only begotten Son who, gave up His life and died on the cross to pay my sin debt, not mine alone, but the sins of the whole world.
Thank You, Heavenly Father that you raised Jesus from the dead. He is ALIVE and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave and in Christ Jesus there is no condemnation. After You raised Him from the dead You gave Him a Glorified, [everlasting] physical body and after he was seen by many witnesses on earth You took Him up to reign with You in heaven.
I pray this in the name, of Your only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ with a grateful heart. Thank You for saving me heavenly Father and for sending the Comforter, The Spirit of Truth, for my guidance and solemn instruction into all truth., Amen.”
Thank You, Holy Spirit of Truth, my Comforter, my Paraclete [my true best-friend who is by my side and always has myback] for the new life in Jesus and the victory that comes because I have reconed myself dead indeed unto sin and alive unto God through Christ Jesus our Lord trusting You, Holy Spirit for Your empowerment to see this promise fulfilled. Romans 6:11
Thank you that you, Holy Spirit, always exalt [lift up] the Lord Jesus. John 16:8-11With all my heart, I thank you Lord Jesus for saving me.
I ask now that You live Your life through me in Your name, Lord Jesus I pray, Amen.

Create in Me a Clean Heart Sing with the Maranatha Singers, won’t you?
Today’s PRAISE music selections came to mind from today’s Anecdote, Faith’s Checkbook, and todays date for the birth of a Godly Nation built on God’s Word, The Holy Bible.
OUTWARD practical holiness is a very precious mark of grace. I fear that many have perverted the doctrine of justification by faith [in Jesus Christ] in such a way as to treat good works with contempt; if so, they will receive everlasting contempt at the last great day.
If our hands are not clean, let us wash them in Jesus' precious blood, and so let us lift up pure hands to God.
But "clean hands" will not suffice, unless they are connected with "a pure heart."
True religion [faith] is heart-work. We may wash the outside of the cup and the platter as long as we please, but if the inward parts be filthy, we are filthy altogether in the sight of God, for our hearts are more truly ourselves than our hands are; the very life of our being lies in the inner nature, and hence the imperative need of purity within.
The pure in heart shall see God, all others are but blind bats.
The man who is born for heaven "hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity." All men have their joys by which their souls are lifted up;
the worldling [“carnal man”] lifts up his soul in carnal delights which are mere empty vanities; but
the saint loves more substantial things.
Like Jehoshaphat, he is lifted up in the ways of the Lord.
He who is content with husks [pig slop] will be reckoned [counted] with the swine.
Does the world satisfy you? Then you have your reward and portion in this life; make the most of it, for you will know no other joy.
"Nor sworn deceitfully. " The saints are men of honor still. The Christian man's word is his only oath; but that is as good as twenty oaths of other men.
False speaking will shut any man out of heaven, for a liar will not enter into God's house, whatever may be his professions or doings.
Reader, are we condemned by false speaking or do we hope to ascend to the hill of the Lord [ZION] ?
Sing: We’re Marching to Zion

The inspired, god breathed, immortal words, were uttered, word-by-word, to the holy prophets and apostles who were chosen of God and moved by the holy ghost. These words are protected and preserved in holy scripture and are written word-by-word and are immutable, [unchanged and unchangeable] without error, and infallible [incapable of mistake or heresy]. and for ever [sic] settled in heaven by God himself in the self-authenticating word of god, itself.

The Inside Story of Westcott and Hort:
Brooke Foss Westcott and Fenton John Anthony Hort (Text only)
URL: https://www.febc.edu.sg/article/def_the_inside_story_of_westcott_and_hort
In 1870, The Anglican Church of England passed a resolution to revise the English Bible. The New Testament revision committee which finally consisted of 25 scholars (though only about 16 eventually attended the meetings) which included Westcott and Hort. The committee worked for ten years in the Jerusalem chamber, and these two scholars swept the Revision Committee along with them after work commenced. In fact, the “Cambridge trio” (Westcott, Hort and Lightfoot) colluded with others to dominate the meetings with their views of the text and to defeat any who opposed them. Their *letters reveal this conspiracy:
* Letters from close relatives are quoted in the Inside Story above
The only voice defending the Textus Receptus was Dr Scrivener, probably the foremost scholar of the day in the manuscripts of the Greek New Testament and the history of the Text. But he was systematically outvoted by the Cambridge trio and outdone by Hort’s powerful debating skill. When the revision was completed, the revision committee had altered the Greek Text in 5,337 places,
thus violating the original rule that had been set for the committee of not altering the Greek Text unless absolutely necessary to do so.

CONCLUSION
In conclusion, let it be said that no matter how good any modern version of the New Testament is in other ways, it is clearly blemished if the work of Westcott and Hort or Nestle & Aland.is present in it. The presence of their work means that it is based on defective text. Those who honor the Word of God must not promote any of these versions by the church, not because the content of the version is entirely evil in itself, but because being contented to use a weakened version rather than the existing, preserved, inerrant unblemished one, dishonors God. If God has preserved for His people a good Greek text of the New Testament for 18 centuries, how dishonoring it must be to Him if His people now chose versions based on the defective Greek manuscript invented by either Westcott & Hort or Nestle & Aland.

SACRED LITER[jM1] ATURE:
ORIGINAL: The Pilgrim’s Progress Pub. by Logos,1853 from 1678 Original by John Bunyan
REVISED TEXT by Barry E. Horner: The Pilgrim’s Progrefs [sic]...
in Pilgrim’s Progress. (The World’s most widely circulated Allegory by John Bunyan, also credited, by some, as being the world’s first English novel.
IT’S FREE. No subscription required. You may choose to read at your own pace, or you may want to view DailySpugeon.com for daily encounters with Pilgrim.)
"Christ in us is Christ reigning." reminds me [Spurgeon's comment] of Mr. Bunyan’s picture of [the town of] Mansoul, …when the Prince Immanuel laid siege to it, and Diabolus from within the city strove to keep him out. It was a, hard time for Mansoul then; but when at last the battering rams had broken down the gates, and the silver trumpets sounded, and the prince’s captains entered the breach, then on a day the prince himself did ride down the city’s streets, while liberated citizens welcomed him with all their hearts, hung out all their streamers, and made the church towers rock again as the bells rang out merry peals [melody] , for the king himself was come. Up to the castle of the heart he rode in triumph, and took his royal throne to be henceforth the sole lord and king of the city.
Christ in you is a right royal word. Christ swaying his scepter from the center of your being over every power and faculty, desire and resolve, bringing every thought into captivity to himself, oh, this is glory begun, and the sure pledge of heaven. Oh for more of the imperial sovereignty of Jesus; it is our liberty to be absolutely under his sway.
