1 John  Chapter 4

Beloved ones, don’t be believing every spirit [everything you hear] but [continually] be testing the spirit whether it is of God: because many false prophets have come out in the world. Here’s how you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit [voice] that confesseth [confesses, says] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh, having come out of God, is of God: and every spirit [voice] that confesseth not [doesn't confess] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Hence, I confess "Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh."

___________________________________________________________________

He has always existed from eternity past [FOREVER] as the WORD of God.    John 1:1-2

And He was born of a virgin 2,024 years ago in Bethlehem, the WORD made flesh,

is alive today, and is coming soon for His *bride, the Church

[*All redeemed believers].

"And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:

God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit,

believed on in the world, received up into glory."

1 Timothy 3:16

Let me invite you to accept and receive  the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord and to publicly confess Him as such before men. He will therefore be able to acknowledge and confess you before His Father in Heaven. He is The God of Abraham. Isaac and Jacob. Following your public confession, You also invited to follow Him in believer’s baptism by immersion.

Jesus came from Galilee t o Jordan to be baptized by John the Baptist. But, John forbad [refused] Him and said, “I have need to be baptized of You and [yet] you are coming to me?” [for baptism] And Jesus answering him said, “Suffer it to be so [Allow this]: for thus it becometh [is fitting and right for] us to fulfil all righteousness.”

 Matthew 3:15

Baptism is not required for salvation. Remember, Jesus said to the thief on the cross, who acknowledged Jesus’ innocence and said to him.

“Remember me when you come into your kingdom.”

And Jesus said to him,

“Verily [Truly] I say to you, Today you shall be with me in paradise.” Luke 23:43

The act of Baptism pictures the Lord’s death, burial  and resurrection and the believer’s death to self, burial, and resurrection to walk in newness of life.

It bears witness to the preaching of John the Baptist who preached that the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand and exhorted Repentance from sin and the Baptism of atonement. Therefore, the act of baptism is not required for salvation but as John preached it is is to be followed to fulfil all righteousness

This website is not intended, were it possible, to take the place of the personal gathering of believers fellowship or congregational worship in  local bodies of believers.

“Study to show yourself approved unto God, a worker that needs not be ashamed, rightly dividing [accurately comprehending and sharing] the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15

Is   dailyspurgeon.com   a trustworthy website?

Is it true?     Is it of God?

We apply the following Scripture to everything we hear/read to discern whether what we are  hearing/reading is of God and therefore whether or not it should be believed.

1 John 4:1-3  Beloved ones, don’t be believing every spirit [word] you hear but be testing the spirits [words] whether they are of God: because many false prophets have gone out into the world. Here’s how you know if it is the Spirit [voice]  of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh, having come from God, is of God:  and every spirit that confesses not that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Therefore beloved, we must test every voice [written or spoken]  to discern whether it is from God or not. By applying these scripture verses we can determine with certainty if the scriptural standard that protects believers from believing false prophets has been met.   We can thereby identify false witnesses and determine not to believe or follow them.  The voice [spirit] being tested should not be believed unless it confesses [states]  that…

“Jesus Christ is here, in the flesh having come from God .”

The Greek manuscripts of neither Westcott & Hort nor Nestle & Aland make this confession nor do they follow the Textus Receptus  rendered from 5,321 extant Greek manuscripts,  that are in overwhelmingly agree with one another. with the lower-case  manuscripts. Also known as as the Majority Text.

Instead, they used their own Greek  translations that they invented by hand picking  only 55 Greek manuscripts from  the 5,321 extant Texts Greek manuscripts..

Their invented Greek translation  presents variant  readings different than the Textus Receptus in many places. One example  from 1 John, Chapter 4 where  all English translations other than the King James version overlook the original Greek verb “ictin” [To be] [is] (third person singular) that is translated in substantially all Majority Texts MT and  subsequently in the Textus Receptus [Received Text] and therefore have failed to correctly translate  the Greek verb  as, “Is come” [Is here].  (correctly Translated from the Textus Receptus [Received Text (TR)]  in the King James Version)

This  error occurs  because the  modern critical Greek text, created by Westcott & Hort and Nestles & Alland DO NOT follow the  MT [Majority Texts] of 5,321 Greek manuscripts that  affirm substantial agreement with one another.   The TR  [Textus Receptus] is rendered from an overwhelming agreement found among the Majority Text of 5,321 primary Greek manuscript sources.

Both Westcott & Hort and Nestles & Alland omit the verb “is”, from their invented  Greek text. This error may be legally described as res ipsa loquitur a latin phrase that means “the thing speaks for itself”.

Therefore, the Greek  inventions generated by these two sources are not actually translations, even though they are introduced as translations, actually  represent their own  Greek language inventions unsupported by the reliability of the Majority Texts or the Textus Receptus.

How do we know?

We know because both  non-believers and false prophets assert that Jesus Christ
“has come” in the flesh. Practically anyone can make this confession as the  birth of Jesus Christ is considered by historians to be the most well documented fact in all of human history.

That He has come is generally acknowledged by nonbelievers and believers alike.   However, here’s the point. There is a huge difference in meaning between “Has come” and “Is Here”. “Has come” is woefully short of the essential and clear meaning of the confession “Is Here”.

Just because something “has come” it can not be assumed, inferred or deduced that it also “is here”.

The “has come” assertion is generally held.  It is not, per se, a false statement. Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. However, this  falls short of  presenting a logical rubric to discern whether the sprit [voice] being tested [tried] is from God or from false prophets in the spirit of antichrist.

Again, the expression “has come” rather than  “is come” [is here]  is not, per se a false statement.

However, it fails to deliver a valid hypothesis, by which spiritual understanding can be discerned. The failure here  to establish a logical and rhetorically sound rubric to judge  the question of whether spirits [words] are from God or from false prophets and the spirit of antichrist is absent if “has come” is  the favored reading.

Actually, “has come” is such a wide-spread belief held to be historically true by all, yet, it does not provide a sound standard to discern whether a spirit [spoken or written words]  are from God or the spirit of Antichrist.

Almost anyone [or any spirit] can declare that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh. But as you can see, this does not resolve the issue of whether something should or should not be believed as true or followed. Why?  Once again,  because almost anyone can and often does confess that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh. But, his is an insufficient standard. The standard must be whether the confession that Jesus is here  alone, gives an efficacious standard to discern truth from error.

Again, while it is  true that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh, this alone is inadequate to discern truth from error. “Has come” does not mean the same thing as “is come [is here],  from God, in the flesh” and therefore fails to be efficacious for true spiritual discernment.

Further, as we  compare  Scripture with  scripture in 1 John 4:1-3 and  Ephesians 5:30-32

we comprehend God’s message regarding  the body of Jesus Christ  being in the Flesh vis-à-vis The Body of Christ, The Corporate Church.

Compare  1 John 4:1-3   with Ephesians 5:30-32

1 John 4:1-3  Authorized (King James) Version

4 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: 3 and every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Ephesians 5:30-32
Authorized (King James) Version

30 for we are members of his [Jesus Christ’s]  body,  of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning  Christ and the church.

[So, we are flesh and bone members of His body, We are] one flesh with Him,  The Body of Christ is (In the flesh); and is the incarnate Body of believers.

He was born of a virgin 2024 years ago and He’s alive today.

He’s coming soon,  for His bride; the Church [Blood-bought, Born-again members of His body].

When a believer considers the fact that they are members of the body of Christ [The Church] , they should see and acknowledge that…

“Jesus Christ is here, from God,  in the flesh,” because  We are the Body of Christ; The Church, in the flesh!

Amen.

THE BEST BIBLE TRANSLATION:

Why KING JAMES is Best  by Steven Houck

Even though [it is said that the] King James Version has its weaknesses, it is an excellent translation and by far the best version available today. We must not be taken in by the modern versions and their claims. Our 400 years old Bible is to be preferred above all others because it is better than them all.

1) It was translated by men who are unsurpassed in their knowledge of Biblical studies.

2) The translators were pious men of God who believed in the inspiration of the Holy Scriptures.

3) It is the mature fruit of generations of English translations as well as the careful work of its translators.
4) The King James Version is based upon the Received Text rather than the critical Greek text of modern versions. [vis. Sinaiticus and Vaticanus.]
5) It is a word-for-word translation which faithfully and accurately reflects the originals [of the Majority Texts, MT].

6) The language is one of reverence and respect which gives honor [and greater glory] to the majesty of its Author.

7) Of all the English versions of today, it alone is the Bible of the Reformation.

8) Our spiritual forefathers thought so highly of it that they were willing to suffer and even die for it.

9) It is the version which has been recognized for generations and generations as the Bible God has given to His English-speaking Church.

[A 10th reason why it is best is added here by DailySpurgeon.com]

10) The KJV is the work of 54 translators selected and organized into seven companies. (2), from Westminster (2), from Cambridge, (2), from Oxford and (1)  from London. The work was done openly allowing each company to receive inquiries or comments during the course of the work.  When an issue of disagreement arose, it was addressed in Prayer and discussion was continued until the difference was resolved unanimously and without objection.

Commitment to the Word of God

Long before the Conservative Resurgence, Dr. R.G. Lee was the Southern Baptist champion of biblical infallibility and inerrancy. In his sermon, “The Word of God – Not Broken and Not Bound,” first published in 1930, Dr. Lee proclaimed, “All who wrote are immortalized by their writing of this great Book [Bible],

supernatural in origin, divine in authorship, human in penmanship, infallible in authority, infinite in scope, universal in interest, personal in application, regenerative in power, inspired [God breathed] in totality.”

REVISED TEXT by Barry E. Horner: The Pilgrim’s Progrefs [sic]...

"Christ in us is Christ reigning." reminds me [Spurgeon's comment] of Mr. Bunyan’s picture of [the town of] Mansoul, …when the Prince Immanuel laid siege to it, and Diabolus from within the city strove to keep him out. It was a, hard time for Mansoul then; but when at last the battering rams had broken down the gates, and the silver trumpets sounded, and the prince’s captains entered the breach, then on a day the prince himself did ride down the city’s streets, while liberated citizens welcomed him with all their hearts, hung out all their streamers, and made the church towers rock again as the bells rang out merry peals [melody] , for the king himself was come. Up to the castle of the heart he rode in triumph, and took his royal throne to be henceforth the sole lord and king of the city.

Christ in you is a right royal word. Christ swaying his scepter from the center of your being over every power and faculty, desire and resolve, bringing every thought into captivity to himself, oh, this is glory begun, and the sure pledge of heaven. Oh for more of the imperial sovereignty of Jesus; it is our liberty to be absolutely under his sway.

You may choose to read or listen to Pilgrim’s Progress as a bed time story.

It’s the world’s most famous allegory and is the all-time, world-wide best seller second only to the Bible. Some believe it to be the world’s first novel written in English.

It will bless, encourage and instruct pilgrims (readers and seekers) of all ages for a life-time.

DEVOTION for November 13th *A.D. 2024 Written and calendared for this date by Charles Haddon Spurgeon 1834-1892.

*A.D. Does NOT mean after death as is commonly believed. It is a Latin abbreviation
for anno Domani (It means “Year of our Lord” in English)

BC/AD versus BCE/CE What’s the difference?

Defend the Truth. Won’t you?

Jesus Christ [Messiah] the LORD GOD was born of a virgin 2024 years ago, is now here in the   flesh from GOD through His body and bride, the church and lives forevermore, time without end  and He’s coming again.

PRAYER 15, Part 6 of 9

THE PEACE OF GOD

Lord God, the Holy Ghost, may faith grow in men; may they believe in Christ to the saving of their souls.

May their little faith brighten into strong faith, and may their strong faith ripen into the full assurance of faith. May we all have this last blessing; may we believe God fully; may we never waver. Resting in the Great Surety and High Priest of the New Covenant may we feel “the peace of God which passeth [is beyond] all understanding,” and may we enter into rest.

Bless Thy people that are at rest, and deepen that rest. May the rest that Thou givest [give] be further enhanced by the rest which they find when they take Thy yoke [harness for working together] upon them and learn of Thee. May Thy Word be very sweet to them. May there come over our spirits a deep calm, as when Christ hushed [quieted] both winds and waves. May we feel not only resignation to Thy will, but delight in it, feeling pleased with all the Lord provides. May we rest in our God and be quite happy in the thought that our sins and our iniquities He will remember no more.

[We ask this in the matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, Amen.]

ANECDOTE 104: Changeable Christians.

I knew a Christian man right well to whom I was accustomed to use one salutation whenever I saw him. He was a good man, but changeable. I said to him,

“Good morning, friend! what are you now?” He was once a valiant Arminian, setting young people right as to the errors of my Calvinistic teaching.

A short time after, he became exceedingly Calvinistic himself, and wanted to screw me up [make me into a hyper-Calvinist] several degrees; but I declined to yield.

Anon [later on] he became a Baptist, and agreed with me on all points, so far as I know. This was not good enough, and therefore he became a Plymouth Brother: and after that he went to the Church from which he originally set out.[His original church]

When I next met him, I said, “Good morning, brother, what are you now?” He replied, “That is too bad, Mr. Spurgeon; you asked me the same question last time.” I replied, “Did I? But what are you now? Will the same answer do?”

I knew it would not. I would earnestly say to all such brethren,

“Be sober.” It cannot be wise to stagger all over the road in this fashion. Make sure of your footing when you stand; [and then] make doubly sure of it before you shift [change].

FAITH’S CHECKBOOK   November 13 THE UNFAILING WATCH C.H. Spurgeon

-Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber [snooze] nor sleep- Psalm 121:4

-He aqui, no se adormecerá ni dormirá El que guarda a Israel- Salmos 121:4

Jehovah is -the Keeper [protector] of Israel.- No form of unconsciousness ever steals [unexpectedly comes] over Him, neither the deeper slumber [sleep] nor the slighter [slightest, dozing] sleep. He never fails to watch the house and the heart of His people.

This is a sufficient reason for our resting in perfect peace. Alexander [the Great] said that he slept because his friend Parmenio watched; much more may we sleep because our God is our guard.

-Behold- is here set up to call our attention to the cheering truth. Israel, when he had a stone for his pillow, fell asleep; but his God was awake, and came in vision to His servant. When we lie defenseless, Jehovah Himself will cover our head.

The Lord keeps His people as a rich man keeps his treasure, as a captain keeps a city with a garrison [armory], as a sentry keeps watch over his sovereign. None can harm those who are in such keeping.

Let me put my soul into His dear hands. He never forgets us, never ceases actively to care for [watch over] us, never finds Himself unable to preserve us. O my Lord, keep me, lest I wander and fall and perish.

Prayer: Keep [protect] me, Heavenly Father that I may keep thy commandments. By thine un-slumbering care prevent my sleeping like the sluggard [deadbeat], and perishing like those [spiritually dead] who sleep the sleep of death. I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus, Amen.

vis. The Textus Receptus TR [Received Text] is faithfully rendered from an overwhelming agreement among the majority of the 5,321 extant New Testament, Greek manuscripts  known as the  MT. [Majority Text]. The Old Testament Hebrew and Aramaic manuscripts were meticulously copied by hand [manuscript] by the Masoretic scribes. These are the manuscripts  from which  the Old Testament King James version  was translated onto English.

In order to produce the Modern Greek to support the Critical Text theory, only Fifty-five manuscripts from the totality of the 5,321 Majority Text MT were hand-picked and they were selected from  the inferior Sinaiticus and Vaticanus codices. These fifty-five manuscripts  brought  variant readings and were created, ostensibly, to justify the creation of an alternative Greek text to the Textus Receptus which had been under attack by Westcott & Hort and Nestle & Aland for many years.

The Codices known as Sinaiticus and Vaticanus are inferior as they often are in disagreement with one another and give rise to variant readings They have been infused with invented Greek text where no Greek text from the Fifty-five hand-picked manuscripts was found.

They invented but did not disclose themselves as the source  of the new Greek translation.  They supplied this new Greek translation to all Committee members with the aim to revise the King James Bible. However, They insisted on a code of silence as to the authorship of the Greek Text from which all the Revisions were to be based. All members of the committee were required to agree to this code.

Modern textual criticism is based on the assumption that older manuscripts are, de-facto, more accurate. Actually, the continuous and unsettled changes from their  variant readings reflect error, doctrinal ambiguities and biases not supported by the Majority Text.

Scripture based on The Greek text of Westcott &  Hort and Nestle & Aland of a secular or denominational tradition allow modern textual criticism  to  rob God of His Sovereignty, Omnipotence, Omnipresence, Immutability, Inerrancy and  Infallibility and to diminish Glory from His infinite and everlasting “I AM” that deserves and demands ALL GLORY.

For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in Heaven. Psalm 119:89

MORNING November 13

"The branch cannot bear fruit of itself. "— John 15:4

- El pámpano no puede llevar fruto de sí mismo¾ Juan 15:4

HOW did you begin to bear fruit? It was when you came to Jesus and cast yourselves on His great atonement [your sin payment paid in-full], and rested on His finished righteousness. Ah, what fruit you had then! Do you remember those early days? Then indeed the vine flourished, the tender grape appeared, the pomegranates budded forth, and the beds of spices gave forth their smell. Have you declined since then? If you have, we charge you to remember that time of love and repent and do your first works.

Be most in [repeat often] those engagements which you have experimentally [by experience] proved to draw you nearest to Christ, because it is from Him that all your fruits proceed. Any holy exercise which will bring you to Him will help you to bear fruit.

The sun is, no doubt, a great worker in fruit-creating among the trees of the orchard, and Jesus is still more so among the trees of His garden of grace. When have you been the most fruitless? Has not it been when you have lived farthest from the Lord Jesus Christ, when you have slackened in prayer, when you have departed from the simplicity of your faith, when your graces have engrossed your attention instead of your Lord, when you have said, "My mountain stands firm, I shall never be moved," and have forgotten where your strength dwells—has not it been then that your fruit has ceased?

Some of us have been taught by terrible abasements of heart before the Lord that we have nothing out of Christ; and when we have seen the utter barrenness and death of all creature power we have cried in anguish [bitterly],

"From Him all my fruit must be found, for no fruit can ever come from me."

We are taught by past experience that the most simply we depend on the grace of God in [Jesus] Christ, and wait on the Holy Spirit, the more we shall bring forth fruit unto God.

Oh, to trust Jesus for fruit as well as for life!

EVENING November 13

"Men ought always to pray. "— Luke 18:1

—Es necesario orar siempre— Lucas 18:1

IF men ought always to pray and not to faint, much more [ought] Christian men.

Jesus has sent His church into the world on the same errand on which He Himself came, and this mission includes intercession. What if I say that the church is the world's priest? Creation is dumb [silent], but the church is to find a mouth for it. It is the church's high privilege to pray with acceptance: the door of grace is always open for our petitions [prayer requests], and they never return empty-handed.

The veil [separating the Holy of Holies in the temple] was rent [ripped from top to bottom] for the church; the blood was sprinkled upon the altar for us; God constantly invites us to ask what we will [want] . Will we refuse the privilege which angels might envy? Are we not the bride of Christ? May we not go to our King at every hour? Shall we allow the precious privilege to be unused?

The church always has need for prayer. There are always some in our midst who are declining or falling into open sin. There are lambs to be prayed for that they may be carried in Christ's bosom, [His arms] the strong, lest [for fear they don’t] grow presumptuous and the weak, lest [for fear they] become despairing.[depressed]

If we kept up prayer meetings four and-twenty hours in the day, all the days in the year, we might never be without a special subject for supplication. Are we ever without the sick and the poor, the afflicted and the wavering? Are we ever without those who seek the conversion of relatives, the reclaiming of backsliders, or the salvation of the depraved? Nay, [No] with congregations constantly gathering, with ministers always preaching, with millions of sinners lying dead in trespasses and sins, in a country over which the darkness of Romanism [Roman Catholic church] is certainly descending, in a world full of idols, cruelties, devilries, if we, as the church, do not pray, how shall we excuse this base neglect of the commission of our loving Lord?

Let the church be constant in supplication. Let every private believer cast his mite [his part] of prayer into the treasury.

                 A  SINNER’S  PRAYER

Whosoever shall call on the name of the lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21

Pray and call on the name of the Lord Jesus, like this. Won’t you?

“Lord Jesus, I’m a sinner. I’m lost and hopeless to save myself. Without your death on the cross  I would spend eternity in Hell’s fire.

Thank you Lord Jesus that You loved me and died for me before I was born and that You have always loved me and will never reject or turn your back on me. I know You are the Way, the Truth and the Life and that no one can come to the Father but by You.

Thank you, Father that You have caused for me to see myself as I am; a lost sinner.  But,  because of Your love and goodness, You have made a way and given me the desire to come to You, to turn away from my sin and to trust in You, Lord Jesus.  You took my place on the cross and provided the way for  me to be forgiven. Thank You.
Thank You that You prompted a desire in me to believe in You, the only begotten  Son of God who died on the cross to be the sacrifice that would  atone for my sins.

Thank You, Father for Your love that allowed Jesus to suffer and die in my place. Thank You that You raised Jesus from the dead. He is RISEN and is ALIVE and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave and in Christ Jesus I am free.

You raised Jesus from the dead, gave Him a Glorified body and after he was seen by many witnesses on earth You took Him up to reign with You  in heaven.

Thank you, Father,  for saving me in the name, of Your only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
Romans 6:11

Thank you, Holy Spirit, that you always give witness to and exalt the Lord Jesus Christ.
John 16:8-11

With all my heart, thank you Lord for saving me.
Live Your life in me,  Lord Jesus, in Your name I pray, Amen.

MISSION STATEMENT
Our solemn  aim is to trust and obey the Lord Jesus in everything. This  relies completely upon God to achieve His purpose for us through His means. We purpose, with God’s empowerment and  help,  to save the lost, comfort, strengthen and encourage believers, and  rightly divide God’s Word to proclaim the Gospel (Good News) of Jesus Christ to every creature.

The Holy Bible is God’s eternal, inerrant, infallible, immutable revealed and divinely preserved Word.  It is His supernatural, complete scripture  of all revealed truth.  He brings guidance through it to us personally and to each local body of Christian believers. With God’s empowerment, we will read, study, meditate-on, trust-in  and obey God’s Holy Bible and encourage others to do the same. We hold it to be the supreme authority and the preeminent and divinely established Stare Decisis [Latin: to stand by that which is decided, the legal principle of precedence,   literally "to stand by decided matters"] in all things.

Therefore, the purpose of The John Mark Publishing Company is to publish the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every creature. And, to serve all, in love,  especially those in the household of faith. This purpose compels us to follow, and rightly present, God’s Holy Word, the Bible as God’s divinely preserved truth; the foundation of this ministry.

Tabernacle History:
The  inspired preaching, teaching, soul winning and writings of Charles Haddon Spurgeon were solely based, empowered and inspired by God’s Holy Word the Bible.  His written sermons and devotional content continue to benefit today’s readers with authentic  Gospel preaching and sound biblical teaching. His ministry continues to flourish from the original (Spurgeon’s)  Metropolitan Tabernacle,  a church fellowship began in 1650 with the present  building constructed by members of the congregation in 1861 and rebuilt after the second world war..

Spurgeon's written materials are for the edification of the church body as well as a great benefit, blessing and challenge to all readers. Our desire is that the written Word of God will become the Living  Word in each and every reader. To this end, a calendar is indexed (top, right) on the Home page of DailySpurgeon.com for daily study, meditation and prayer. An unabridged and strictly maintained fidelity to Spurgeon’s original calendar and unabridged text is carefully guarded.

God has preserved His Word through  The Masoretic Hebrew and Aramaic languages of the Old Testament and the GreekTextus Receptus of the New Testament:

In contrast, the Incomplete and unsealed codices of Sinaiticus and Vaticanus are not translated from the  5,321 Majority Text Greek manuscripts, that became the Textus Receptus [Original Masoretic Hebrew and the Greek Textus Receptus].

The Sinaiticus and Vaticanus manuscripts  present variant readings rather than that of the well-established and settled majority Texts. They disagree often with one another as well as with the settled majority texts. Thus, an attempt to create a pretext that will continue to justify a never-ending demand for additional editions and interpretations. These unsettled differences and bias in certain sectarian doctrine [dogma] have led to the production of multiple “modern” editions with ambiguities, many variant readings and confusion from the explosion of unending, new editions.

Profit-driven publishers have embraced such an economic windfall to sell a continual flow of “new and better” English edition of The Bible. They give too little attention to the fidelity and accuracy already settled [in heaven] in majority manuscripts of the Masoretic Hebrew and the  Greek Textus Receptus.

Psalm 119:89-90

ל Lamed

89 Forever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.

90 Thy faithfulness is unto all generations:

thou hast established the earth, and it abideth. [abides]

God, Himself, providentially protects and preserves His Word. His Word is the God-breathed, self-authenticating, immutable [unchanging and unchangeable], eternal, inerrant, infallible, infinite and all-powerful Word, settled in heaven. He is not the author of confusion.

1 Corinthians 14:33

Our Prayer: Dear Lord, empower your ministry to win many souls, and serve those in need, especially those in the household of faith, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

Disclaimer: The John Mark Publishing Company honors the memory of Charles H. Spurgeon his writing and preaching. Honor to whom honor is due. He didn’t want praise then and doesn’t  need it now. Our aim is to lift up and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and to preach Christ Jesus only and him crucified.

Precaution: The content presented from this website can be beneficial, but it  cannot substitute for gathering together, in-person, with other believers to hear the preaching of God’s Word and to worship and sing praises to the Lord Jesus Christ [the Messiah].

The Authorized King James Version (AKJV), also known as the Authorized Version (AV), is the authentic. inerrant, and infallible  English Bible because it is rendered [translated into English] accurately and faithfully from the extant 5,321 majority Greek manuscripts text from which the Greek Textus Receptus, [received text] manuscripts of the New Testament is taken.

The Hebrew Masoretic Text copied faithfully by Masoretic scribes was the original Old Testament. (The Jewish Tanakh) is the Hebrew source from which translations into other languages were made. These manuscripts are providentially protected of God and always give the greatest glory to God when compared to other translations.  Editorial notations, variant and sometimes ambiguous readings taken from Codices Vaticanus, or Sinaiticus consistently allow  nuanced meanings to diminish God’s Omnipotence, Omniscience, Omnipresence or other divine attributes from being fully voiced.

The Authorized King James version is unique also in that the requirement of Great Brittan that all King James bibles be printed only by the Cambridge University Press, The Crown’s Authorized Printer. No other [person or publisher] may print, copy or import the King James Bible into Great Brittan by order of the Crown.

Printed Prayer: Printed prayers must not be read or offered as a substitute for personal, fervent, effectual, heart-felt, prayer. They are offered, rather, to warm the hearts of those who will presently seek a season of fervent, authentic two-way, heart-to-heart fellowship and prayer with the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. Authentic revelations from God during prayer are always consistent with His revealed Word, the Bible.

Preaching Preparation: When preparing to preach, please send us the text reference that has been chosen if you would like us to send the Spurgeon Sermon addressing the same text.

My Prayer is that You would touch, lift up, encourage and teach all who faithfully minister your Word. Bless all who minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ. May Your blessing and holy anointing fall fresh upon each dear reader and abide with each one who rightly divides and faithfully proclaims Your Word [The Bible]. Please save many souls; and may all be glory be yours alone. I pray this in the name of our Redeemer, The Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

Distribution: The Publishing Company sends Daily Spurgeon by e-mail, to all request received. No fee or registration is required. Please send the e-mail address of all who you would like to add to our mailing list. Also, please FORWARD these e-mails freely to anyone you choose.

MISSION STATEMENT:
Our aim, with God’s  help,  is to be Christlike in all that we think, do and say. We desire to fulfill the Great Commission by taking the GOOD NEWS of Salvation by Grace through Faith in Jesus Christ [The Messiah] to every creature, and to make disciples and baptize  them in the name of the Father, the Son  and the Holy Ghost.

·       Morning & Evening

These titles are from the inspired body of work created from the preaching and writing of Charles Haddon Spurgeon 1834-1892. He created an unexcelled  legacy of gospel preaching and exposition and is known as the “Prince of Preachers”.  Spurgeon has been and is today widely read with great benefit from the 1800’s to this present time. He is the beloved founder of the Metropolitan Tabernacle in London, England (Thriving TODAY through the faithful preaching of the Gospel and the Sacred Worship of Jesus the Christ [Messiah].)

Prayer: Lord Jesus, please be blessed by the winning of many souls, and give us love and compassion toward all who are in need, especially those in the household of faith. I pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and for His sake, Amen.

Disclaimer: The John Mark Publishing Company does not praise or exalt  Charles H. Spurgeon beyond the honor due him. He didn’t need or want it when he was here on earth and has no need for it now, in Heaven. Our aim is to lift up and glorify the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and to preach HIM and Him crucified.

Precaution: These Devotional Messages and prayers alone can not substitute for continual fellowship with the Lord Jesus. Neither do they replace personal reading, meditation, prayer and fasting over God's divinely preserved and eternal Word. (The King James version (KJV), also known also as the Authorized Version (AKJV), is the preferred English Bible because its accuracy and fidelity to the Greek Textus Receptus [received text] and the Hebrew Masoretic Text) avoid doctrinal and editorial weakness found in many contemporary editions.

Written Prayers by Spurgeon must not be offered as a substitute for personal, intimate fervent, heart-felt, prayer. They are rather intended to warm the hearts of those who are seeking a season of authentic two-way, heart-to-heart  fellowship and prayer with the Father, His Son and the Holy Spirit.

The above link is to search for specific words or Scriptures in the King James inerrant and infallible  English Version  (KJV)  because it is providentially protected and preserved by GOD Himself through the only translation into English by faithful brethren from the 5,312 established majority text manuscripts MT from which the New Testament  Greek Textus Receptus [received text] was taken  and the Hebrew Masoretic Text of the Old Testament (Jewish Tanakh).  These manuscripts are providentially protected, and give greater glory to God when compared to the variant readings of all post KJV  translations. Modern Critical Texts are based on only 55 hand picked Greek manuscripts fabricated from either Westcott and Hort or Nestle and Aland. Both of these Greek textual sources make the assumption that OLDER IS BETTER. Of course, this assumption is not valid in any place   the older manuscripts err from the Textus Receptus..

The established majority manuscripts and the Textus Receptus avoid doctrinal error, and inaccuracies in translation, uninspired editorial notations, variant or ambiguous readings which taken from Codices Vaticanus, or Sinaiticus.

Copyright: The King James Version is also distinguished by the requirement of Great Brittan that all King James bibles be printed by the Cambridge University Press, the Crown’s authorized printer. No one other than the Crown’s printer, is allowed print, copy or import the King James Bible into Great Brittan by order of the Crown.

In the United States there is no Copyright protection to restrict the free printing of the KJV. It is the only Bible version that may be printed freely as Public Domain. Any  new publication that changes 10% or more of any existing  publication may procure a lucrative Copyright protection to restrict unauthorized printing of the new publication. Therefore,  the NKJV, NIV and many other modern  translations. Only the King James Version New Testament is unique from among the over 100 English translations that follow modern textual criticism and only the King James is faithfully translated from the well-established  Greek Textus Receptus as the  Primary time tested and self-authenticating Greek Source.

DEFENDING  THE  KING JAMES BIBLE    by the Millennium Bible Institute

This video presents the truth  for those who seek to learn about and use the providentially protected, preserved and immutable Holy Bible that is both inerrant [without error] and infallible and gives God alone, the utmost praise, and the greatest glory due to HIMSELF. Praise and worship are rightfully insisted upon and commanded in God’s  inspired [God-Breathed (Spoken) Word from God himself.
HOLY WORDS  that were given by God through the Holy Ghost, word by word, to His  Holy Prophets and Apostles comprise all eternal Holy Scripture. (Matthew 5:18)

HOW HAS  THE MAJORITY TEXT AND  THE TEXTUS RECEPTUS BEEN PROVIDENTIALLY PROTECTED AND PRESERVED?

The inspired, god breathed, immortal words, were  uttered, word-by-word, to the  holy prophets and apostles who were chosen of God and moved by the holy ghost. These words are protected and preserved in holy scripture and are written word-by-word and are immutable, [unchangeable] without error, and infallible [incapable of making a mistake or being wrong]. and for ever [sic] settled in heaven by God himself in the self authenticating word of god, itself.

The complete Inside  Story of Westcott and Hort:

Brooke Foss Westcott and Fenton John Anthony Hort  (Text only)

URL:   https://www.febc.edu.sg/article/def_the_inside_story_of_westcott_and_hort

In 1870, The Anglican Church of England passed a resolution to revise the English Bible. The New Testament revision committee which finally consisted of 25 scholars (though only about 16 eventually attended the meetings) which included Westcott and Hort. The committee worked for ten years in the Jerusalem chamber, and these two scholars swept the Revision Committee along with them after work commenced. In fact, the “Cambridge trio” (Westcott, Hort and Lightfoot) colluded with others to dominate the meetings with their views of the text and to defeat any who opposed them. Their *letters reveal this conspiracy:

* Letters from close relatives are quoted in the Inside Story above

The only voice defending the Textus Receptus was Dr Scrivener, probably the foremost scholar of the day in the manuscripts of the Greek New Testament and the history of the Text. But he was systematically outvoted by the Cambridge trio and outdone by Hort’s powerful debating skill. When the revision was completed, the revision committee had altered the Greek Text in 5,337 places,

thus violating the original rule that had been set for the committee of not altering the Greek Text unless absolutely necessary to do so.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, let it be said that no matter how good any modern version of the New Testament is in other ways, it is clearly blemished if the work of Westcott and Hort or Nestle & Aland.is present in it. The presence of their work means that it is based on  defective text. Those who honor the Word of God must not promote any of these versions by the church, not because the content of the version is entirely  evil in itself, but because being contented to use a weakened version rather than the existing, preserved, inerrant unblemished one, dishonors God. If God has preserved for His people a good Greek text of the New Testament for 18 centuries, how dishonoring it must  be to Him if His people now chose versions that are  based on  the defective and inferior  Greek manuscript  invented  by Westcott & Hort or Nestle & Aland.

Let the biblical story of Nadab and Abihu be a lesson for us all:

And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not. And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD. Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the LORD spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace. And Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said unto them, Come near, carry your brethren from before the sanctuary out of the camp. So they went near, and carried them in their coats out of the camp; as Moses had said. And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not your heads, neither rend your clothes; lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the people: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the LORD hath kindled” (Lev 10:1–6).
