Lord, educate us for a higher life, and let that life be begun here. May we be always in the school, always disciples, and when we are out in the world may we be trying to put in practice what we have learned at Jesus feet.
What He tells us in darkness may we proclaim in the light, and what He whispers in our ear in the closets may we sound forth upon the housetops.
[I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.]

ANECDOTE 312: June 14th SCOFFERS AT PRAYER.
Those philosophers that sneer at prayer, what do they know about it? They are strangers to prayer, and therefore unable to judge of its power. Suppose a dozen of them should swear that they have prayed, and that God has not heard their prayers, we should believe it; and we should also come to the conclusion that prayers from men of their order ought not to be heard.
Surely he that cometh to God must believe that he is; and these gentlemen will not even accept that point as certain. But when we pray, and the Lord hears us,
can any form of argument disprove a fact?
A fact will stand against all reasoning: it is an unyielding rock, against which the waves of skepticism hurl themselves [argue] in vain.

God s choice of His people is the reason for His abiding by them, and not forsaking them.
He chose them for His love, and He loves them for His choice.
His own good pleasure is the source of their election, and His election is the reason for the continuance of His pleasure in them. It would dishonor His great name for Him to forsake them, since it would either show that He made an error in His choice, or that He was fickle [irresponsible] in His love.
God’s love has this glory, that it never changes, and this glory He will never tarnish [diminish]. By all the memories of the Lord’s former loving-kindnesses let us rest assured that
He will not forsake us. He who has gone so far as to make us His people, will not undo the creation of His grace.
He has not wrought [worked] such wonders for us that He might leave us after all.
His Son Jesus has died for us, and we may be sure that He has not died in vain.
Can He forsake those for whom He shed His blood?
Because He has hitherto taken pleasure in choosing and in saving us, it will be His pleasure still to bless us. Our Lord Jesus is no changeable [unfaithful] Lover.
Having loved His own, He loves them to the end.
Prayer: Thank You Lord Jesus, that You have made us your people; and, You will not forsake us. And because You have gone so far as to make us Your people, You will not undo this creation of Your grace. You have not done such wonders in us as to forsake us now or ever. You died for us, and we know that You did not die in vain. Thank You, Lord Jesus, Amen.

MORNING June 14th "DELIGHT THYSELF ALSO IN THE LORD." —Psalm 37:4
–Pon asimismo tu delicia [gozo] en Jehová — Salmos 37:4
THE teaching of these words must seem very surprising to those who are strangers to vital [enlivened] godliness, but to the sincere believer it is only the inculcation [assimilation] of a recognized truth.
The life of the believer is here described as a delight in God, and we are thus certified of the great fact that true religion [faith in Christ Jesus] overflows with happiness and joy.
Ungodly persons and mere professors [they talk the talk without walking the walk] never look on religion as a joyful thing; to them it is service, duty, or necessity, but never pleasure or delight. If they attend to religion [go to church] at all, it is either that they may gain thereby, or else because they dare not do otherwise.
The thought of delight in religion is so strange to most men, that no two words in their language stand further apart than "holiness" and "delight."
But believers who know Christ, understand that delight and faith are so blessedly united that
the gates of hell cannot prevail to separate them.
They who love God with all their hearts find that his ways are ways of pleasantness and
all His paths are peace.
Saints discover such joys, such brimful delights, such overflowing blessednesses in their Lord that far from serving Him from custom [routine or habit], they would follow Him though all the world cast out [yells out] His name as evil.
We fear not God because of any compulsion; our faith is no fetter [shackle], our profession is no bondage, we are not dragged to holiness, nor driven to duty. No, our piety [devotion to God] is our pleasure, our hope is our happiness,
our duty is our delight.
Delight and true religion [faith] are as allied as root and flower; as indivisible as truth and certainty; they are, in fact,
two precious jewels glittering side by side in a setting of gold.
’Tis when we taste Thy love,
Our joys divinely grow,
Unspeakable like those above,
And heaven begins below.

A DEEP sense and clear sight of sin, its heinousness, and the punishment it deserves, should make us lie low before the throne. As Christians we have sinned. Alas [More’s the pity], that it should be so. Favored as we have been, we have yet been ungrateful: privileged beyond most, we have not brought forth fruit in proportion.
Who is there, although he may long have been engaged in the Christian warfare, that will not blush [with shame] when he looks back upon the past? As for our days before we were regenerate [redeemed], may they be forgiven and forgotten; but since then, though we have not sinned as before, yet we have sinned against light and against love—light that has really penetrated our minds, and love in which we have rejoiced.
Oh, the atrocity of the sin of a pardoned soul!
An unpardoned sinner sins cheaply compared with the sin of one of God's own elect ones, who has had communion with Christ and leaned his head on Jesus' bosom [chest].
Look at David! Many will talk of his sin, but I pray you look at his repentance, and hear his broken bones, as each one of them moans out its sorrowful confession! Mark his tears, as they fall upon the ground, and the deep sighs with which he accompanies the softened music of his harp!
We have erred [sinned]: let us, therefore, seek the spirit of penitence.
Look, again, at Peter! We speak much of Peter's denying his Master.
Remember, it is written,
"He wept bitterly."
Have we no denials of our Lord to be lamented [sorrowed over] with tears? Alas [Oh, for shame]! These sins of ours, before and after conversion, would consign us to the place of inextinguishable fire if it were not for the sovereign mercy that has made us to differ,
snatching us like brands [torches] from the burning [fire].
My soul, bow down under a sense of your natural sinfulness, and worship your God.
Admire the grace that saves you—the mercy that spares you—the love that pardons you!

A SINNER’S PRAYER
Whosoever shall call on the name of the lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21
Pray, calling on the name of the Lord Jesus, like this. Won’t you?
“Lord Jesus, I’m a sinner. I’m lost and hopeless to save myself. Without you and your blood that was shed for me and Your death on the cross I would spend eternity in Hell’s fire.
Thank you Lord Jesus that You love me and died for me before I was born and that You have always loved me and will never reject or turn your back on me. I know You are the Way, the Truth and the Life and that no one can come to the Father but by You.
Thank you, Father that You have caused for me to see myself as I am; a lost sinner. But, because of Your love and goodness, You have made a way and given me the desire to come to You, to turn away from my sin and to trust in You, Lord Jesus. You took my place on the cross and provided the way for me to be forgiven. Thank You.
Thank You that You prompted a desire in me to believe in You, the only begotten Son of God who died on the cross to be the sacrifice that would atone for my sins.
Thank You, Father for Your love that allowed Jesus to suffer and die in my place. Thank You that You raised Jesus from the dead. He is RISEN and is ALIVE and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave and in Christ Jesus I am free. You raised Jesus from the dead, gave Him a Glorified body and after he was seen by many witnesses on earth You took Him up to reign with You in heaven. Thank you, Father, for saving me in the name, of Your only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

No, I’m Traditional Text only. But if you come to the view and the conviction of being Traditional Text only, you will be Only King James.
The issue is not translational.
Marketing ploys by publishing companies with little basis in reality would have us to believe that the new versions are:

More modern.

More accurate (Not true)
The truth is that the KJV remains The most popular. (is still the most popularly read Bible in America). Over five billion copies of the King James (1769) is greater than all the other versions and editions combined.
The issue comes down to the textual issue. By That, I refer to the underlying Greek text. I guess we could say texts, plural but particularly that of the New Testament. On the one hand is the Traditional Text from which the only major English translation is the King James Version of the Bible. The Traditional Text.
On the other hand, is the Critical Text sometimes called the eclectic text from whence all the other translations come. And some will say well there really is no difference between them. The difference you could amount to is just the footnotes in the bottom of a page. (This is Not true) He was not dishonest but just repeating what someone had told him.
