PRAYER 24, Part 2 of 11

DELIVER US FROM EVIL.

We come for mercy, great God; it must always be our first request, for we have sinned, sinned against a just and holy law of which our conscience approves. We are evil, but Thy [Your] law is holy and just and good. We have offended knowingly; we have offended again and again; after being chastened [disciplined] we have still offended, and even those of us who are forgiven, who through Thy [Your] rich love have been once for all washed from every stain, yet have we sinned grievously; and we confess it with much shame and bitter self-reproach [rebuke] that we should sin against such tender love, and against the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, who is in His people; and who checks [is the one who convicts] them and quickens their consciences; so that they [we] sin against light and knowledge when they [we] sin. I remember George Whitfield says when he began to pray, his first prayer was that God would convert those with whom he used to play at cards [play cards with] and waste his Sundays. “And blessed be God,” he says, “I *got every one of them.”

THANK HIM; DWELL ACCEPTABLE

-Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence- Psalm 140:13

Oh that my heart may be upright, that I may always be able to bless the name of the Lord! He is so good to those that be [are] good, that I would fain [with the strongest desire] be among them, and feel myself full of thankfulness every day.

Perhaps, for a moment, the righteous are staggered when their integrity results in severe trial; but assuredly [surely] the day shall come when they shall bless their God that they did not yield to evil suggestions and adopt a shifty [deceitful] policy. In the long run true men [believers] will thank the God of the right [of righteousness] for leading them by a right way. Oh, that I may be among them! What a promise is implied in this second clause,

-The upright shall dwell in thy presence-!

They shall stand accepted where others appear only to be condemned. They shall be the courtiers of the Great King, [the King’s court] indulged with audience [allowed to come into his presence] when-so-ever they desire it. They shall be favored ones upon whom Jehovah [God] smiles, and with whom He graciously communes [has conversation and fellowship].

Lord, I covet [earnestly desire] this high honor, this precious privilege: it will be Heaven on earth to me to enjoy it. Make me in all things upright, that I may today, and tomorrow, and every day stand in thy heavenly presence. Then will I give thanks unto thy name evermore [forever]. Amen.

Prayer: Yea and amen, Father, that the righteous will surely give thanks unto Your name and the upright will dwell in your presence. Thank you, Lord Jesus that You clothe us with Your righteousness, allow us to dwell in Your presence, upright in You. Thank You, in Your name, Lord Jesus, Amen.

MORNING June 27

"Only ye shall not go very far away. "—Exodus 8:28

THIS is a crafty word from the lip of the arch-tyrant Pharaoh. If the poor in-bondage Israelites [Israeli slaves] must go out of Egypt, then he bargains with them that it not be very far away; not too far for them to escape the terror of his arms, [military] and the observation of his spies. After the same fashion, the world loves not the nonconformity of nonconformity, or the dissidence of dissent. It would have us be more charitable and not carry matters with too severe a hand [too seriously]. Death to the world, and burial with Christ, are experiences which carnal minds treat with ridicule, and hence the Sacrament [Ordinance] which sets them forth is almost universally neglected, and even contemned [viewed with contempt].

Worldly wisdom recommends the path of compromise, and talks of "moderation. " According to this carnal policy, purity is admitted to be very desirable, but we are warned against being too precise; truth is of course to be followed, but error is not to be severely denounced. "Yes," says the world, "be spiritually minded by all means, but do not deny yourself a little gay society, [fun] an occasional ball [dance], and a Christmas visit to a theater. [entertainment that draws us away from holiness] What's the good of crying down [rejecting] a thing when it is so fashionable, [cool] and

 everybody does it?”

Multitudes of nominal Christians [In Name Only,] yield to this cunning advice, to their own eternal ruin. If we would follow the Lord wholly, we must go right away into the wilderness of separation, and leave the Egypt of the carnal world behind us.

We must leave its maxims [platitudes], its pleasures, and its religion too, and go far away to the place where the Lord calls His sanctified [redeemed, set-apart] ones. When the town is on fire, our house cannot be too far from the flames. When the plague is abroad, a man cannot be too far from its haunts [influences]. The further from a viper [poisonous snake] the better, and the further from worldly conformity the better. To all true believers let the trumpet call be sounded,

"Come ye out from among them, be ye separate."

SOME persons have the foolish notion that the only way in which they can live for God is by becoming ministers, missionaries, or Bible women. Alas, how many would be shut out from any opportunity of magnifying the Most High, if this were the case. Beloved, it is not office, [a big title] it is earnestness; it is not position, it is grace that will enable us to glorify God. God is more surely glorified in that cobbler's stall [shoemaker’s shop] , where the godly worker, as he plies the awl [hand tools] , sings of the Savior's love; ay, glorified far more than in many a *prebendal stall [* a room, per diem and fee provided from the church to a designated member] where official religiousness performs its scanty duties.

The name of Jesus is glorified by the poor unlearned carter [cart driver] as he drives his horse, and blesses his God, or speaks to his fellow laborer by the roadside, as much as by the popular divine [preacher] who, throughout the country, like Boanerges, [the sons of thunder, James and John] is thundering out the gospel.

God is glorified by our serving Him in our proper vocations [daily work] . Take care, dear reader, that you do not forsake the path of duty by leaving your occupation, and take care you do not dishonor your profession while in it. Think little of yourselves, but do not think too little of your calling.

Every lawful trade may be sanctified by the gospel to noblest ends. Turn to the Bible, and you will find the most menial forms of labor connected either with most daring deeds of faith, or with persons whose lives have been illustrious [good illustrations of] holiness. Therefore, be not discontented with your calling. Whatever God has made your position, or your work, abide in that, unless you are quite sure that he calls you to something else.

Let your first care be to glorify God to the utmost of your power where you are. Fill your present sphere [of influence] to His praise, and if He needs you in another, He will show it you. 

This evening lay aside vexing ambition, and embrace peaceful contentment.

A SINNER’S  PRAYER 

Whosoever shall call on the name of the lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21

 Pray and call on the name of the Lord Jesus, like this. Won’t you? 

“Lord Jesus, I’m a sinner. I’m lost and hopeless to save myself. Without you and your blood that was shed for me and Your death on the cross  I would spend eternity in Hell’s fire.

Thank you Lord Jesus that You love me and died for me before I was born and that You have always loved me and will never reject or turn your back on me. I know You are the Way, the Truth and the Life and that no one can come to the Father but by You.  

Thank you, Father that You have caused for me to see myself as I am; a lost sinner.  But,  because of Your love and goodness, You have made a way and given me the desire to come to You, to turn away from my sin and to trust in You, Lord Jesus.  You took my place on the cross and provided the way for  me to be forgiven. Thank You.
Thank You that You prompted a desire in me to believe in You, the only begotten  Son of God who died on the cross to be the sacrifice that would  atone for my sins.

Thank You, Father for Your love that allowed Jesus to suffer and die in my place. Thank You that You raised Jesus from the dead. He is RISEN and is ALIVE and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave and in Christ Jesus I am free.

You raised Jesus from the dead, gave Him a Glorified body and after he was seen by many witnesses on earth You took Him up to reign with You  in heaven.  

Thank you, Father,  for saving me in the name, of Your only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Thank you, Holy Spirit, that you always give witness to and exalt the Lord Jesus Christ. 
John 16:8-11

With all my heart, thank you Lord for saving me.

A SINNER’S PRAYER:   … FOR WHOSOEVER WILL: [For One and all]

Call on the name of the Lord Jesus and be saved     … pray like this, won’t you?   

“Lord Jesus, I’m a lost sinner and without You I am hopeless.  I can’t save myself. Without your death on the cross for my sin debt I would be condemned to spend eternity condemned to Hell. I have been  self-centered from birth.  Please forgive me.

I realize that doing my best, being as good as possible, or being better than other people can never save me. . I’m guilty and sorry for each and every sin I have done and look to You to forgive me of them all. 
I look to You, alone  Lord Jesus to save me.
I call on You,  Lord Jesus, right now to save me.  You died on the cross for me, because of my sin  and You say,  “It shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21.

Right now, just as I am, I call on You, Lord Jesus to save me,  I trust You, to  be my Lord and Savior from now on.
Thank You, Lord Jesus, that You have forgiven me of all my sins.  I ask You to abide in me and give me the desire to always follow You.
You paid the price for all of my sins by dying on the cross.  Even the sins of the whole world.

The above link is to search for specific words or Scriptures in the King James inerrant and infallible  English Version  (KJV)  because it is providentially protected and preserved by GOD Himself through the only translation into English by faithful brethren from the 5,312 established majority text manuscripts MT from which the New Testament  Greek Textus Receptus [received text] was taken  and the Hebrew Masoretic Text of the Old Testament (Jewish Tanakh).  These manuscripts are providentially protected, and frequently give greater glory to God when compared to variant readings of all modern translations from Modern Critical Texts based on only 55 hand picked inferior Greek manuscripts fabricated from either Westcott and Hort or Nestle and Aland. These words are protected and preserved in holy scripture and are written word-by-word and are immutable, [unchangeable] without error, and infallible [incapable of making a mistake or being wrong]. and for ever [sic] settled in heaven by God himself in the self authenticating word of god, itself.

In 1870, The Anglican Church of England passed a resolution to revise the English Bible. The New Testament revision committee which finally consisted of 25 scholars (though only about 16 eventually attended the meetings) which included Westcott and Hort. The committee worked for ten years in the Jerusalem chamber, and these two scholars swept the Revision Committee along with them after work commenced. In fact, the “Cambridge trio” (Westcott, Hort and Lightfoot) colluded with others to dominate the meetings with their views of the text and to defeat any who opposed them. Their *letters reveal this conspiracy:

The only voice defending the Textus Receptus was Dr Scrivener, probably the foremost scholar of the day in the manuscripts of the Greek New Testament and the history of the Text. But he was systematically outvoted by the Cambridge trio and outdone by Hort’s powerful debating skill. When the revision was completed, the revision committee had altered the Greek Text in 5,337 places,

thus violating the original rule that had been set for the committee of not altering the Greek Text unless absolutely necessary to do so.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, let it be said that no matter how good any modern version of the New Testament is in other ways, it is clearly blemished if the work of Westcott and Hort is present in it. The presence of their work means that it is based on a defective text. Those who want to honor the Word of God must not promote the use of any of these versions by the church, not because the content of the version is entirely  evil in itself, but because being contented to use a weakened version rather than the existing, preserved, without error unblemished one, dishonors God. If God has preserved for His people a good Greek text of the New Testament for 18 centuries, how dishonoring it would be to Him if His people now chose instead to use versions that are  based on  defective Greek manuscript  created by Westcott & Hort or Nestle & Aland.

It’s the ONLY ENGLISH translation that is translated into English from the Textus Receptus [This Received Text is rendered from 5,321 Greek manuscripts that overwhelmingly agree with one another known as the Majority Text  MT. All other versions are translated from Greek text created by either  Westcott and Hort  or the Nestle-Aland that was  rendered by “Chery-picking” only 55 Greek manuscripts or fragments. These do not even agree with themselves and far less with the preserved and protected Textus Receptus.
