All Bible versions that are NOT  translated from the Textus Receptus [The (traditional) Received Greek Text] include variant  readings that diminish the full  expressions of glory and the most Holy reverence due to the Omnipotent, Almighty GOD.  He preserves and protects its  immutably  in the 1769 Edition of the 1611 King James Version  Bible KJV. This version is known as the Authorized King James  Version  AKJV and the  Authorized Version AV.  ALL GLORY is due and must be given to the Omnipotent and Omniscient  LORD of ALL.

 

The Geneva Bible was also translated from the Greek Textus Receptus including  comments favorable to the Protestant Reformation  from inspired, devoted,  faithful Christian men of GOD;        Puritan Believers known to be  beyond reproach.

This Bible was first brought to Plymouth Massachusetts  in the American Colonies by the Puritan Pilgrims guided by Captain Christopher Jones’s on the Mayflower sailing ship in 1620. A 1592 Edition of the Geneva Bible that belonging to a Mayflower passenger and the Governor of the Plymouth Colony (Later to become the State of   Massachusetts) by William Bradford and is on display at the Pilgrim Hall Museum in Plymouth, Massachusetts, the oldest continuously operating public museum in the United States.

 

The traditional Textus Receptus [Received Greek Text] unlike any other Greek Text was taken  from more than 5,321 original Majority Greek Manuscripts MT that agree 98% with one another. Other variant readings are translations invented by  either Westcott and Hort or Nestle and Aland. These fabricated Greek Texts were translated from only a handful [45] of Majority Text Manuscripts MT and  lack the  trustworthiness of  the inspired 1769 [1611] King James Version, KJV or the Geneva Bible and are the only two translations of the traditional, reliable, inspired, [GOD BREATHED] immutable and providentially and divinely protected Textus Receptus.

The historical  video documentary Bridge to Babylon presents evidence that tracks the explosion of more than 100 new Critical Text editions of English translations  of the Bible. The attempts to change by adding to, or taking away from the 1769 edition of the King James Version KJV of the Holy Bible cannot prevail because GOD Himself preserves and protects His  inspired  [God Breathed] , inerrant, immutable [incapability of any change] and infallible  Holy Word from any and all heresy, blasphemy, confusion , error, additions to, or subtractions from the WORD of GOD.

It is Latin for Anno Domini,  a  phrase adopted into English usage that means  “Year of [the] Lord”.  The complete  original phrase "anno Domini nostri Jesu Christi" means "in the year of our Lord Jesus Christ”.   A.D. together with B.C. Before Christ divides all history into before and after the birth of Jesus the Christ [Messiah].

Can   DAILYSPURGEON  be trusted? Is it trustworthy?

Is it of God?

YES, it can!    Yes, it is!     Here’s why.

 

1 John 4:1-3

Beloved ones, don’t be believing every spirit [everyone or !everything] you hear but be testing the spirit [voice] whether it is of God: because many false prophets have gone [come] out into the world. Here’s how you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit [voice] that confesses [avows] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh, having come[who came] out of God, is of God: and every spirit that confesses not [doesn’t audibly avow] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Therefore I do audibly confess,  that Jesus Christ is come  [is here]  in the flesh.

 

[All translations of the Bible using Greek translations other than the traditional and faithful Textus Receptus do not contain the Greek word “ictin”.  This word  means “is” in English] and  its exclusion causes the meaning of its English equivalent, “is here” to change from “is” come” [is here] to “has” come”.

 

This error is self-evident because non-believers, false prophets, atheists and even  heretics can, and frequently do, affirm that Jesus Christ “has come”   [in the flesh].

 

While this is a true statement, when taken at face value, the  meaning of  “has come” is clearly not the same as “is here”. When has come is the meaning   the scriptural test to discern whether the words being analyzed are from the Spirit of God or the spirit of antichrist is completely negated.

 

One of the most well documented facts in all history of humanity is that Jesus Christ [The Anointed Messiah]  “has” come in the flesh. However, the question of much greater importance,  is not whether the spirit [a spoken or written word] confesses that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh but, whether this confession affirms that Jesus Christ, “is come” [is here],  in the flesh.

 

We now Compare and consider [Meditate upon] scripture with other relative scripture:  Precept upon precept, Line upon line… 
Isaiah 28:10-14

For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

“I speak concerning Christ and the church.” [the fleshly embodiment, here and now,  of the body of Christ]. Because  followers of Jesus Christ are members of the incarnate Body of Christ [The Church] I affirm and avow that Jesus Christ is here

 

[Not “Has come”] in the flesh.

GOD’S HOLY WORD is

Immutable, [unchanging and, unable to mutate or be changed], 
Inspired, [God breathed, spoken],

Infallible,[Incapable of failing]  

Inerrant [Without error]

Self-Authenticating  [The Bible is considered to be self-authenticating because proponents who believe it to be so know it contains inherent divine qualities—Such qualities are unity, majesty, power, and internal consistency—that reveal its divine origin, that convinces readers of its truth without relying on external historical proof or church testimony.

This concept, championed by the Reformation, know that the Holy Spirit illuminate:
the "heavenliness of its matter," the "efficacy of its doctrine," and the "majesty of its style" within the text itself, allowing God's Word to be received directly, the same way as seeing God's glory in Christ.]

Providentially Protected and Preserved

Psalm 12:6-7:   6 The words of the Lord are pure words:
as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
7 Thou shalt keep them [Thy Words] , O Lord, thou shalt preserve them [Thy Words] from this generation for ever. (AKJV).

 

Isaiah 40:8: 8 The grass withereth, [withers] the flower fadeth [fades] :but the word of our God shall stand for ever. (AKJV).

 

Matthew 5:18: 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. (AKJV).

 

Matthew 24:35: 35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. (AKJV).

 

1 Peter 1:23: 23 being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.  (AKJV).

The Authorized King James Version (AKJV)  also known as The Authorized Version (AV) and The Geneva Bible are faithful English Translations from the preeminent, [surpassing all others] and traditional Greek of the Textus Receptus [Received Text] that self-authenticate and are superior to all Critical Text translations or editions as to their authentic divine inspiration and fidelity from The Almighty andTriune GOD.

(8 min.) The problem behind Bible translations is not English.  The issue is what Greek text was being used.   I believe the true Author is The Holy Spirit. I believe this is the Word of God… We need to understand that The word of GOD in and of itself is power. Power to change your life and through the work of the Holy Spirit can produce the New Birth. We are born again of an incorruptible seed of the Word of God which liveth and abideth forever.

1 John 4:1-3  

 (AKJV) The Authorized Version AKJV Translation was faithfully translated by fully consecrated,  and dedicated, preeminent linguists, language scholars who were fully devoted followers of  The Lord Jesus Christ.   The 1611 King James translation is from the inerrant, inspired and immutable Textus Receptus [Received Text]:

 

Psalm 119:89  ל   (Lamed)  Forever,  O  Lord, thy word is settled in heaven.

 

“Thy Word” is The Inspired and Ultimate Stare Decisis [The Latin phrase in Legal jargon that establishes the principle of “Legal Precedence” means to stand by things decided, and with reference to Holy Scripture, to uphold all things God-Breathed [Inspired] and therefore eternally and immutably decided]

 

4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth [says] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh is of God: 3 and every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

 

Therefore, I now confess that “Jesus Christ is here in the flesh.”  

 

[All other English translations of the Bible that use Greek manuscripts other than the Textus Receptus erroneously render the English translation as “Has come”.

      

 This Translation error is because inferior Greek manuscripts do not include the Greek word  “ictin”  (This is The Greek word for is that is found only in the Textus Receptus)  and therefore  fail to correctly translate “Is come” [Is Here] into English.

 

 The Authorized King James Version AKJV also known as The Authorized Version AV and the Geneva Bible stand alone in giving the correct translation, “is here”.

 

The  error, “has come” is self- evident, because non-believers, false prophets and even heretics  can, and sometimes do,  make the confession that He “has come” in the flesh. This is no surprise to us because the birth of Jesus Christ is the most well documented fact in all of recorded history.  Indeed, it is a factual statement that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. While this is, on the surface a true statement, when “has come” replaces “is come” its altered meaning does not now provide the test of  discernment as to  whether a spirit [voiced or written words being read or heard] is  either from God or from antichrist.  It is  true that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh, but it’s essential and of crucial importance, that the confession that Jesus Christ, “is here,  in the flesh.” Be made out-loud.

 

By Reading, comparing and meditating on any certain Scripture together with other relevant Scriptures, God’s Word clarifies and self-authenticates:

PRAYER 3 Part 3 of 5 January 14th   THE LOVE WITHOUT MEASURE OR END

 

We feel like singing all the time; we would [like to] take down our harp from the willows, if we had hung it there, and we would waken every string to the sweetest melody of praise unto the Lord our God. Yet, Lord, we cannot close with praise, for we are obliged [obligated] to come before Thee with humble confession of our sin.  We are not worthy of the least of all these favors; we cannot say, “He is [we are] worthy for whom Thou shouldst [should] do this thing,”

 

Nay, [no] but we are altogether unworthy, and Thy gifts are according to the riches of Thy grace, for which again we praise Thee.

 

Lord, forgive us all our sin. May Thy pardoned ones have a renewed sense of their acceptance in the Beloved [The Lord Jesus]. If any cloud has arisen to hide Thee from any believing eye, take that cloud away. If in our march through this world, so full of mire as it is, we have any spot on us, dear Savior, wash our feet with that blessed foot-bath, and then say to us,

 

“Ye are clean every whit [bit].”

 

May we know it so, that there is no condemnation, no separation; sin is removed as to its separating as well as its destroying power, and may we enter into full fellowship with God. May we walk in the light as God is in the light, and have fellowship with Him, while the blood of Jesus Christ, His Son, cleanseth [cleanses] us from all sin.

 

Let no child of Thine have any dead work upon his conscience, and may our conscience be purged [cleansed] from dead works to serve the living and true God.

 

And oh! if there are any that after having made the profession of religion [faith] have gone astray by any form of sin, Lord, restore them. If they have fallen by strong drink, if they have fallen by unchastity, if they have fallen by dishonesty; if, in any way, they have stained their garments, Oh! that Thy mighty grace might bring them back and put them yet among the children.

 

But give them not up, [Don’t give up on them] set them not as Admah, make them not as Zeboim, but let Thy repentings be kindled and Thy bowels [heart] of compassion be moved for them, and let them also be moved, and may they return with weeping and with supplication, and find Thee [find that You are] a God ready to pardon.

ANECDOTE 165: January 14th   DEATH CAN DO NO REAL HARM.

 

Certain Swiss peasants not very long ago were feeding their flocks on one of the lofty upland valleys. On one side of the pasturage [pasture] stood a number of chalets, or wooden huts, in which they were accustomed to live during the summer, poor shelters which were left as soon as the winter set in. One day they heard a strange rumbling up in the lofty Alps, and they understood what it meant; it meant that a mass of rock or snow or ice had fallen, and would soon come crushing down in the form of an avalanche. In a brief space their fears were realized, for they saw a tremendous mass come rushing from above, bearing destruction in its course. What did it destroy? Only the old, crazy chalets: that was all. Every man of the shepherds was safe, and untouched: the event was rather to them a matter which caused a Te Deum [Ta-Dum!, Praise the Lord] to be sung in the village church below than a subject for mourning and sorrow. They said,

 

“The avalanche is terrible, but it has not slain the aged mother, nor crushed the babe in its cradle: it has injured none of us, but only buried a few hovels which we can soon rebuild.”

 

Their case is a picture of ours. The avalanche of death will fall; but O ye saints, when it comes this is all it will do for you your earthly house will be dissolved !

We who are saved find rest in Jesus [Christ]. Those who are not saved will receive rest if they come to Him, for here He promises to –give– it. Nothing can be freer than a gift; let us gladly accept what He gladly gives. You are not to buy it, nor to borrow it; but to receive it as a gift.

 

You labor under the lash [whip] of ambition, covetousness, lust, or anxiety: He will set you free from this iron bondage, and give you rest.

 

You are –laden– yes, -heavy laden- with sin, fear, care, remorse, fear of death; but if you come to Him, He will unload you. He carried the crushing mass of our sin, that we might no longer carry it.

He [Jesus Christ] made Himself the great Burden-bearer, that every heavy laden one might cease from bowing down under the enormous pressure [weight].

 

Jesus gives rest. It is so. Will you believe it? Will you put it to the test? Will you do so at once?

 

Come to Jesus, by quitting every other hope, by thinking of Him, believing God’s testimony about Him, and trusting everything with Him. If you thus come to Him, the rest which He will give you will be deep, safe, holy, and everlasting.

 

He gives a rest which develops into heaven, and He gives it this day to all who come to Him.

 

Prayer: Thank you Lord for Your rest, given to all who labor and are heavily burdened that come to you. Help me to come back to you and receive this rest in Your name, Lord Jesus, I pray Amen.

Pray also that believers will be led… led                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          by the Holy Spirit to rightly divide and proclaim God’s Word providentially protected and preserved by God, Himself.

 

John 3:16:   

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but be having everlasting life.

 

This Translation is from  the Textus Receptus (TR)  [Received Text] and is an example of the overwhelming majority of extant Greek texts MT that is in substantial agreement in their text itself and avoids inferior, ambiguous and missing primary source texts of the variant  codices Alexandrinus, Sinaiticus and Vaticanus. There is substantial disagreement and missing texts among these codices which do not agree with one another,  are created from incomplete codices and introduce modern biblical criticism theory that embraces ambiguities, uncertainties and variant readings [interpretations]. These are found in a multitude of new English translations and contain doctrinal compromises that nuance-away or otherwise diminish  the highest glory due to God Almighty.  The TR is the original primary New Testament Greek source of the Authorized King James Translation. It’s the ONLY ENGLISH translation that comes directly from the time tested and superior Textus Receptus.

God, Himself, providentially protects and preserves His WORD. All of His Word is inspired, [God-breathed], self-authenticating, immutable [unchanging and unchangeable], eternal, inerrant, infallible, infinite and all-powerful [omnipotent] Word.

MORNING January 14th  “MIGHTY TO SAVE.” — Isaiah 63:1

Sing Mighty to Save  with Laura Story

 

BY the words "to save" we understand the whole of the great work of salvation, from the first holy desire onward to complete sanctification. The [Latin] words are multum in parvo; indeed, here is all mercy in one word. Christ is not only "mighty to save" those who repent, but He is able to make men repent. He will carry those who believe to heaven; but He is, moreover, mighty to give men new hearts and to work faith in them.

He is mighty to make the man who hates holiness [to] love it, and to constrain the despiser of His name to bend the knee [in reverent submission] before Him [in His presence]. But, this is not the total meaning, for the divine power is equally seen in sanctification [to be chosen and set apart for holy purposes].

The life of a believer is a series of miracles wrought [done] by "the Mighty God." The bush burns,  but is not consumed. [doesn't burn-up].

 

He is mighty to keep His people holy after He has made them so, and to preserve [keep] them in His fear and love until He consummates [completes] their spiritual existence in heaven.

Christs’ might does not lie [is not] in making a believer and then leaving him to shift [protect and provide] for himself; but

 

He [God] who begins the good work carries it on. He who imparts the first germ [spark] of life in the dead soul, prolongs the divine existence, and strengthens it until it bursts asunder [blows-up] every bond [restriction, knot and tangle] of sin, and the soul leaps from earth, perfected in glory.

Believer, here is encouragement. Are you praying for some beloved one? Do not give up [stop] your prayers, for Christ is

 

"mighty to save."

 

You are powerless to reclaim the rebel [unbeliever], but your Lord is Almighty.

Lay hold on that mighty arm, and rouse [wake] it to put forth [the action of] its strength. Does your own case trouble [bother] you?

 

Fear not [don’t be afraid], for His strength is sufficient [adequate] for you.

 

Whether to begin with others or to carry on the work in you [alone], Jesus is "mighty to save," the best proof of which lies in the fact that He has saved you. What [great] mercy [from Him] that you experienced His grace and

have not found Him mighty to destroy!

EVENING January 14th  "BEGINNING TO SINK, HE [Peter] CRIED, SAYING, LORD, SAVE ME." — Matthew 14:30

SINKING times are praying times with the Lord's servants. Peter neglected prayer at the beginning  of his venturous journey, but when he began to sink his danger made him a suppliant [an earnest prayor], and his cry though late was not too late.

In our hours of bodily pain and mental anguish, we find ourselves as naturally driven to prayer as the wreck is driven to the shore by the waves.

The fox runs to its hole for protection; the bird flies to the wood for shelter; and even so the tried believer hastens to the mercy seat [in prayer] for safety. Heaven's great harbor of refuge [safety] is prayer; thousands of weather-beaten vessels [ships] have found a haven [safety] there, and the moment a storm comes on, it is wise for us to make for it with all sail [full steam ahead].

 

Short prayers are long enough. There were but three words in the petition which Peter gasped out, but they were sufficient for his purpose.

 

Not length but strength is what is important. A sense of need is a mighty teacher of brevity.

If our prayers had less of the tail feathers of pride and more wing they would be all the better.

Verbiage is to devotion as chaff [is] to the wheat. Precious things lie within small boundaries.

 

In many a long address [prayer] all that is real prayer might have been uttered in a petition as short as that of Peter.

 

Our extremities [extreme difficulties] are the Lord's opportunities.

 

Immediately a keen sense of danger forces an anxious cry from us [so] that the ear of Jesus hears, and

 

with Him ear and heart go together,

 

and the hand does not linger [procrastinate].

At the last moment we appeal to our Master, but His swift hand makes up for our delays by instant and effective action. Are we nearly engulfed by the tumultuous waters of affliction [storms and troubles of life]?

Let us then lift up our souls unto our Savior, and we may rest assured that He will not allow us to perish.

When [even though] we can do nothing, Jesus can do all things; let us enlist His powerful aid through earnest prayer, and all will be well. [Amen].

 

A SINNER’S PRAYER: January 14th   … FOR WHOSOEVER:

Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21

Call on the name of the Lord Jesus and be saved … pray like this, won’t you?

“Lord Jesus, I’m a lost sinner and without You I am lost. I can’t save myself. Without your death on the cross to pay my sin debt I would be condemned to spend eternity in Hell. My nature and behavior has been sinful from birth. Please forgive me.

I realize that doing my best, being as good as possible, or being better than other people can never save me. . I’m sorry for each and every sin I have ever done and look to You to forgive them all.

I look to You, alone Lord Jesus to save me.

I call on You, Lord Jesus, right now to save me. You died on the cross for me, as God’s sacrifice for my sin.

Right now, just as I am, I call on You, Lord Jesus to save me, I trust You to be my Savior and Lord.

Thank You, Lord Jesus, that You have forgiven me of all my sins. I want to follow You from now on.

You paid the price for all of my sins by dying on the cross.

Thank you, Lord Jesus that You loved me and died for me before I was born and that You love me still

Thank you, Heavenly Father, that You called me away from sin and death into the Life everlasting in Your only begotten son, the Lord Jesus.

Thank You, Heavenly Father that you raised Jesus from the dead. He is alive and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave.

Thank You for saving me heavenly Father and Holy Spirit for Your comfort and guidance in all things.

With all my heart, thank you Lord Jesus for saving me. In your name, I pray, Amen.

We hold it to be the supreme authority and the preeminent and divinely established Stare Decisis [Latin: to stand by that which is decided, the legal principle of precedence,   literally "to stand by decided matters"] in all things. 

 

Tabernacle History:
       The  inspired preaching, teaching, soul winning and writings of Charles Haddon Spurgeon were solely based, empowered and inspired by God’s Holy Word the Bible.  His written sermons and devotional content continue to benefit today’s readers with authentic  Gospel preaching and sound biblical teaching. His ministry continues to flourish from the original (Spurgeon’s)  Metropolitan Tabernacle,  a church fellowship began in 1650 with the present  building constructed by members of the congregation in 1861 and rebuilt after the second world war..

        Spurgeon's written materials are for the edification of the church body as well as a great benefit, blessing and challenge to all readers. Our desire is that the written Word of God will become the Living  Word in each and every reader. To this end, a calendar is indexed (top, right) on the Home page of DailySpurgeon.com for daily study, meditation and prayer. An unabridged and strictly maintained fidelity to Spurgeon’s original calendar and unabridged text is carefully guarded.

Note: JM witnessed the last few hours of his *Daddy’s life on earth coming to an end and heard him say “Amen” over and over, affirming his own life’s conclusion and giving testimony of God’s goodness to him and his agreement and surrender to his earthly departure to be eternally present with the Lord Jesus.
