PRAYER 17, April 29th  Part 5 of 8  TO BE LIKE CHRIST.

 

Alas! [More’s the pity] we are even sometimes subject to unbelief. If trials come which we expected not, or if the body grows faint, how liable we are to begin to doubt the faithful promise, and so to grieve the Holy Spirit. Lord, we cannot bear this; we cannot bear this; it is not enough for us that our garments are clean, and that we walk uprightly before men; we long to walk before Thee in such a way that there will be nothing to grieve Thy Spirit, nothing to vex [anger] the tender love of our Beloved. O, come, Divine Spirit, and exercise Thy cleansing power upon it according to Thy promise, “I will cleanse Thy blood which I have not cleansed, saith [says] the Lord, that dwelleth [dwells] in Zion.”

 

O that everything might help us towards purity, for we crave after it; we mind [attend to] the things of the Spirit, and there is groaning within us to be utterly delivered from the things of the flesh, that we may in spirit, soul, and body, be a cleansed temple, fit for the indwelling of the Holy One of Israel. Lord, help us, we pray Thee, in our daily life, to be as Christ was.

If we are men of sorrows, may there be that luster about our sorrow which there was about His in patience and holy submission to the Divine law.

If we are men of activity may our activity be like His, for he

 

“went about doing good.”

 

May we seek in all ways the good of our fellow-men and the glory of our God. We wish that the zeal of Thine house would eat us up [consume us] ; that we should be full of sacred warmth; that our lips were [would be] touched with the live coal so that there be fire in us perpetually flaming and burning, and ourselves a living sacrifice unto God.

ANECDOTE 268: April 29th  Whosoever.

I am deeply in love with that word  “who-so-ever.” It is a splendid word. A person who kept many animals had some great dogs and some little ones, and in his eagerness to let them enter his house freely he had two holes cut in the door, one for the big dogs and another for the little dogs. You may well laugh, for the little dogs could surely have come in wherever there was room for the larger ones. This “ whosoever” is the great opening, suitable for sinners of every size.

“Whosoever liveth [lives] and believeth [believes] in me shall never die.” ________________________________________

-Say not thou, I will recompense evil; but wait on the Lord, and he shall save-

Be not in haste [Don’t be in a hurry]. Let anger cool down. Say nothing and do nothing to avenge yourself. You will be sure to act unwisely if you take up the cudgels [clubs] and fight your own battles; and, certainly, you will not show the spirit of the Lord Jesus.

It is nobler to forgive, and let the offense pass. To let an injury rankle in your bosom, and to meditate revenge, is to keep old wounds open, and to make new ones. Better forget and forgive. Peradventure, you say that you must do something or be a great loser; then do what this morning’s promise advises:

-Wait on the Lord, and he shall save thee.-

This advice will not cost you money, but is worth far more. Be calm and quiet. Wait upon the Lord: tell Him your grievance: spread Rabshakeh’s letter

before the Lord, and this of itself will be an ease to your burdened mind. Besides, there is the promise,

-He shall save thee.- God will find a way of deliverance for you.

How He will do it neither you nor I can guess, but do it He will. If the Lord save you, this will be a deal [lot] better than getting into petty quarrels, and covering yourself with filth by wrestling with the unclean.

Be no more angry. Leave your suit [complaint] with the Judge of all.

Prayer: Thank you that you teach us to not say, “I will recompense evil; but to wait on You Lord, and You shall save- Lord Jesus, help me to wait upon You. I believe You died for my sins and that God raised You from the dead. Thank You for saving me. Please help me to be holy.

 

 -I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.- Galatians 2:20. In Jesus name, Amen.

 

Pray also that all pastors, workers and believers everywhere rightly divide God’s everlasting Word, to declare, preach and share the good news that Jesus suffered and died on the cross so that eternal life is given to all who trust in Him. Pray that all redeemed, born-again blood-bought children of God abide faithful to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with every creature.

MORNING April 29th

"Thou art [are] my hope in the day of evil. " —Jeremiah 17:17

THE path of the Christian is not always bright with sunshine; he has his seasons of darkness and of storm. True, it is written in God's Word, "Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace," and it is a great truth, that religion is calculated to give a man happiness below as well as bliss above; but experience tells us that if the course of the just be "As the shining light that shineth [shines] more and more unto the perfect day," then sometimes that light is eclipsed.

At certain periods clouds cover the believer's sun, and he walks in darkness and sees no light. There are many who have rejoiced in the presence of God for a season; they have basked in the sunshine in the earlier stages of their Christian career; they have walked along the "green pastures" by the side of the "still waters," but suddenly they find the glorious sky is clouded.

Instead of the Land of Goshen, they have to tread the sandy desert; in the place of sweet waters, they find troubled streams, bitter to the taste, and they say, "Surely, if I were a child of God, this would not happen." Oh! say not this [don’t say this] , you who are walking in darkness. The best of God's saints must drink the wormwood [bitterness]; the dearest of His children must bear the cross.

No Christian has enjoyed perpetual prosperity; no believer can always keep his harp [happiness] from [hanging on] the willows [trees].

Perhaps the Lord allotted you at first a smooth and unclouded path because you were weak and timid. He tempered the wind to the shorn lamb, but now that you are stronger in the spiritual life, you must enter the riper and rougher experience of God's full-grown children. We need winds and tempests to exercise our faith, to tear off the rotten bough of self-dependence, and to root us more firmly in Christ. 

The day of evil reveals to us the value of our glorious hope.

EVENING April 29th "THE LORD TAKETH PLEASURE IN HIS PEOPLE. " —Psalm 149:4

HOW comprehensive is the love of Jesus! There is no part of His people's interests that He does not consider, and there is nothing that concerns their welfare that is not important to Him. Not merely does He think of you, believer, as an immortal being, but as a mortal being too. Do not deny it or doubt it:

"The very hairs of your head are all numbered." "The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he [the good man] delighteth in His way."

It would be a sad thing for us if this mantle of love did not cover all our concerns, for what mischief might be done to us in that part of our business that did not come under our gracious Lord's inspection! Believer, rest assured that the heart of Jesus cares about your common affairs [daily routine]. The breadth of His tender love is such that you may resort to Him in all matters; for all your afflictions He is afflicted, and 

like as a father pities his children, so does He pity you.

The meanest [most insignificant] interests of all His saints are all borne [carried] on the broad bosom [chest] of the Son of God. Oh, what a heart is His, that does not merely comprehend [know] the persons of His people, but comprehends also the diverse and innumerable concerns of all those persons!

Do you think, 0 Christian, that you can measure the love of Christ? Think of what His love has brought you—justification, adoption, sanctification, eternal life!

The riches of His goodness are un-searchable [beyond comprehension]; you will never be able to tell them out [stop talking about them] or even conceive them. Oh, the breadth of the love of Christ! Shall such a love as this have half our hearts? Shall it have a cold love in return? Shall Jesus' marvelous loving-kindness and tender care meet with but faint response and tardy acknowledgment?

0 my soul, tune your harp to a glad song of thanksgiving! Go to your rest rejoicing, for

you are no desolate wanderer, but 

a beloved child, watched over, cared for, supplied, and defended by the Lord.

A SINNER’S PRAYER: April 29th    (FOR WHOSOEVER):
Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21

  

 Pray and call on the name of the Lord Jesus and be saved    … won’t you?   

“Lord Jesus, I’m a lost sinner hopeless without You.  I would never be able to save myself. Without your death on the cross to pay my sin debt I would be condemned to spend eternity condemned in Hell. By nature  and  practice I am a natural-born sinner. I’m  totally depraved and  I sin because I am a sinner. Please forgive me.

I realize that doing my best or being as good as possible, or being better than other people or having good excuses can never save me.
I look to You, alone  Lord Jesus to save me.
I call on You,  by name,  Lord Jesus, right now to save me.  You died on the cross in my place to pay  for my sin. Your Word says,  “It shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21. Thank You, Lord.

 

     Right now, I surrender my sinful self  to You,  just as I am, Lord Jesus. I trust You to forgive me and save me and be my Lord and Savior.
Please forgive me for all my sins. I’m sorry for every sin (bad thoughts, words and things I have done) and look to You to forgive me of them all.  I need your strength to overcome sin’s temptations. Thank you for forgiving me.
You paid the price for all of my sins by dying on the cross. 

    Thank you Lord Jesus that You loved me and died for me before I was born and that You still love me.
 

    Thank you, Heavenly Father, that You have made the way  to save me  and have drawn me away from sin and death into Life  in Your only begotten son, the Lord Jesus.  He took  my place, suffered and died for punishment that I deserved.

 

     Thank You, Heavenly Father that you raised Jesus from the dead. He is ALIVE and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave. In Christ Jesus there is therefore now no condemnation.
 

     Thank You for saving me heavenly Father and for the Holy Spirit you will send for my guidance, comfort  and solemn instruction into all truth,  Amen.”

    With all my heart, I thank you Lord Jesus for saving me. In your name, Lord Jesus I pray, Amen.

So, Dr. Sorenson, “I hear You are King James Only.”
 
No, I’m Traditional Text only. But if you come to the view and the conviction of being Traditional Text only, you will be Only King James.

The issue is not translational.

Marketing ploys by publishing companies  that have little basis in reality would have us to believe that the new versions  are:
 

• Easier to read.
   

• More modern.
   

• More accurate (Not  true)
   

The most popular. (KJV is still the most popularly read Bible in America)

The issue comes down to the textual issue. By That, I refer to the underlying Greek text. I guess we could say texts, plural but particularly that of the New Testament. On the one hand is the Traditional Text from which the only major English translation is the King James Version of the Bible. The Traditional Text.

On the other hand, is the Critical Text sometimes called the eclectic text from whence all the other translations come. And some will say well there really is no difference between them. The difference you could amount to is just the footnotes in the bottom of a page. (This is Not true) He was not dishonest but just repeating what someone had told him.

A Sinner’s Prayer.

 

A person may come to Jesus by  believing and (whole heartedly) praying like this:

 

 “Lord Jesus, I’m a sinner. I’m lost and hopeless without You.  I will never be able to save myself by my own merits. Without you and your death on the cross I would deserve and spend forever in Hell.

I know that me doing my best or being good (in my own opinion)  and justifying my own behavior as "good"  or "OK" will never  save me.
I look to You, alone  Lord Jesus to save me. 
I come to You   right now.  Lord Jesus.   Please save me.  I believe You died on the cross in my place to pay for my sin debt and put to death my sin nature. I know  You always keep your word.  Please save me. You say and  it’s written in the Bible that you won’t reject anyone who comes to You. I'm coming  to You now. Thank You for saving me.
I  give myself (all of myself) to You, Lord Jesus. I declare that You are my Savior and Lord. I’m sorry for and I turn away from  every sin (every bad thought, every bad word I have spoken and every bad thing I have ever done)  and look to You free me from the penalty of sin, to keep me free from the power of sin and empower me overcome any temptation from sin’s  presence.  Thank you for forgiving  all of  my sins by dying on the cross to pay the punishment that I deserve.  (I was a sinner by nature and by behavior). But now I'm washed clean by Your blood that was shed [poured out] for me at Calvary [at the cross].

Thank you Lord Jesus that You loved me and died for me before I was born and that You love me now and will always love me and will never reject or turn your back on me. I know You are the Way, the Truth and the Life and that no one can come to the Father other than by You.

Thank you Father that You have made a way for me to see myself as ungodly.  But,  because You are good You have made a way and given me the desire to come to You, to turn away from my sin and to trust in the Lord Jesus.  You have forgiven me because He took my place and You have provided for  me to be born again [born from above, born of the Holy Spirit].  
You prompted this desire and faith to believe in Your only begotten Son who,gave up  His life and died on the cross to pay my sin debt, not mine alone, but the sins of the whole world. 

Thank You, Heavenly Father that you raised Jesus from the dead. He is ALIVE and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave and in Christ Jesus there is no condemnation. After You raised Him from the dead You gave Him a Glorified, [everlasting] physical body and  after he was seen by many witnesses on earth You took Him up to reign with  You  in heaven. 

 

 I pray this in the name, of Your only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ with a grateful heart.   Thank You for saving me heavenly Father and for sending the Comforter, The Spirit of Truth, for my guidance and solemn instruction into all truth.,  Amen.”

Thank You Holy Spirit of Truth, The Comforter, The Paraclete [true friend who is by your side and always has your back]  for the new life in Jesus and the  victory that comes when I recon myself dead indeed unto sin and alive unto God through Christ Jesus our Lord trusting You, Holy Spirit for Your  empowerment  to see  this promise fulfilled. God, Himself, providentially protects and preserves His WORD. All of His Word is inspired, [God-breathed], self-authenticating, immutable [unchanging and unchangeable], eternal, inerrant, infallible, infinite and all-powerful [omnipotent] Word.

Adherence to Spurgeon’s calendared dates and original, unabridged text is carefully followed.

Alterations to and alternative readings in Biblical Text were brought about by the Critical Greek Text of Westcott & Hort and was used to translate the: NIV, ESV, RSV and other Modern Language Translations who’s Greek translations are from the Greek Codices Vaticanus and Sinaiticus.  90% is from Vaticanus and 8-9% from Sinaiticus  and were the principle Texts used by Westcott and Hort to invent their Critical Greek Text. There are  more disagreements than there are agreements between these two Codices of Vaticanus and Sinaiticus.  .

 

From these inferior Greek Codices, 17 verses are deleted out of the New Testament in following the Critical Text. 7,000 words in total are deleted.

Codices Sinaiticus  and Vaticanus are counterfeits that were  overwritten in the 10th 11th and  completely overwritten in the 15th centuries. There are more points of disagreement than there are points of agreement between them.

IN ADDITION TO THE KING JAMES BIBLE, The Geneva Bible was also translated from the Traditional Greek Text, The Textus Receptus [The Received Text] including  comments favorable to the Protestant Reformation  from, devoted,  faithful Christian men of GOD; Puritan Believers whose lives were  beyond reproach.
This Bible was brought to Plymouth Massachusetts  in the American Colonies by the Puritan Pilgrims guided by Captain Christopher Jones’s on the Mayflower sailing ship in 1620. A 1592 Edition of the Geneva Bible that belonging to a Mayflower passenger and the Governor of the Plymouth Colony (Later to become the State of   Massachusetts) by William Bradford and is on display at the Pilgrim Hall Museum in Plymouth, Massachusetts, the oldest continuously operating public museum in the United States.

The traditional Textus Receptus [The Received (Greek) Text] unlike any other Greek Text was taken  from more than 5,321 original Majority (Greek Manuscript) Text [MT] that agree 99% with one another. Other variant readings stem from Greek translations invented by  Westcott and Hort and Nestle and Aland.  These fabricated Greek Texts were translated from only a handful [45] of Majority Text Manuscripts MT and  lack the  trustworthiness of  the inspired 1769 [1611] King James Version, KJV or the Geneva Bible and are the only two translations of the traditional, reliable, inspired, [GOD BREATHED] immutable and providentially and divinely protected Textus Receptus [TR]

 

There is also translational evidence from Jerome’s Latin Vulgate that establishes The Traditional Greek Text as both the OLDEST and the BEST. [Unlike the Counterfeit proofs  offered with The Critical Test].

[All translations of the Bible that use  Greek translations other than the Traditional AKA the faithful Textus Receptus do not have the Greek word “ictin”.  This word  means “is” in English] and  its exclusion causes the meaning of its translation, “is here” to change to “has” come.

This mistake is self-evident because non-believers, false prophets, atheists and even  heretics can, and frequently do, affirm that Jesus Christ “has come”   [in the flesh].

While this is a true statement, taken at face value, the  meaning of  “has come” is clearly not the same as “is here”. When “has” come is the meaning   the test God has given in His Word to discern whether words being analyzed are from the Spirit of God or the spirit of antichrist is made void.

One of the most well documented facts in all human history is that Jesus The Christ [The Anointed Messiah]  “has” come in the flesh. However, the essential question  is not whether the spirit [a spoken or written word] confesses that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh but, whether this confession affirms that Jesus Christ, “is come” [is here],  in the flesh.

 

Please Compare and consider [Meditate upon] this scripture with other related scriptures.  Precept upon precept, Line upon line…

“I speak concerning Christ and the church.” [the fleshly embodiment, here and now,  of the body of Christ]. Because  followers of Jesus Christ are members of the incarnate Body of Christ [The Church] I freely affirm and avow that Jesus Christ is hereNot “Has come”] in the flesh.

David’s Summary  (8 minutes) The problem behind Bible translations is not English.  The issue is what Greek text was being used.   I believe the true Author is The Holy Spirit. I believe this is the Word of God… We need to understand that The word of GOD in and of itself is power. Power to change your life and through the work of the Holy Spirit can produce the New Birth. We are born again of an incorruptible seed of the Word of God which liveth and abideth forever.

THE  WORDS of GOD Are :
 

Immutable, [unchangeable and, incapable of mutation or change] 
Inspired, [God breathed, spoken],

Infallible,[Incapable of failing, making a mistake or being wrong] 

Inerrant [Without error]

Self-Authenticating  [The Bible is self-authenticating because it contains inherent divine qualities—Such qualities are unity, majesty, power, and consistency—that reveal its God breathed inspiration and convinces readers of its truth.

This concept, championed in the Reformation, know that the Holy Spirit illuminates the "heavenliness of its matter," the "efficacy of its doctrine," and the "majesty of its style" within the text itself, allowing God's Word to be received directly, the same as seeing God's glory in Christ.
 

Divinely Protected and Providentially Preserved:
Psalm 12:6-7:   6 The words of the Lord are pure words:
as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
7 Thou shalt keep them [Thy Words] (Note Plural), O Lord, thou shalt preserve them [Thy Words] from this generation for ever. (KJV).

 

Isaiah 40:8: 8 The grass withereth, [withers] the flower fadeth [fades] :but the word of our God shall stand for ever. (KJV).

 

Matthew 5:18: 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. (KJV).

Matthew 24:35: 35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. (AKJV).

1 Peter 1:23: 23 being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.  (KJV).

1 Peter 1:25: 25 but the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.  (KJV).

 

Psalm 119:89:  89 For ever, [sic] O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven, Psalm 119:89).  (KJV).

 

The Authorized King James Version (AKJV)  also known as The King James Version, Edition of 1769 (KJV), The Authorized Version (AV) and The Geneva Bible are faithful Translations from the preeminent, [surpassing all others],  Traditional Greek Text which predates the name given to the  Textus Receptus [The Received Text] TR, and is superior to all modern Critical Text translations rendered from inferiorGreek Sources that include: (Westcott & Hort, Nestle & Aland,  and Codices Vaticanus, Sinaiticus and Alexandrus).

 

John 1:1: 1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and
the Word was God.

John 1:1-3    1In the beginning was he Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2The same was in he beginning with God. 3 all things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made.

(KJV) The Authorized Version AV Translation was faithfully translated by fully consecrated,  and dedicated men of faith, beyond reproach, preeminent linguists, language scholars who were fully devoted followers of  The Lord Jesus Christ.   The 1611 King James translation is from the inerrant, inspired and immutable Textus Receptus [Received Text]:

 

Psalm 119:89  ל   (Lamed)  For ever, [sic] O  Lord, thy word is settled in heaven.

 

“GOD’S LIVING  Word” is The Infinitely Inspired and the Ultimate Stare Decisis [The Legal Latin Term that expresses the principle of “Legal Precedence”. It means to stand by things decided, and  to uphold all things God-Breathed [Inspired] and therefore eternally, Divinely and immutably decided FOREVER]

 

4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth [says] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh is of God: 3 and every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

 

Therefore, I now confess that “Jesus Christ is here in the flesh.”  

 

[All other English translations of the Bible use  The Critical Text Greek manuscripts. not the Textus Receptus and erroneously render the English words as “Has come” instead of “is come” [IS HERE].

      

 This Translation error is because inferior Greek manuscripts do not include the Greek word  “ictin”  (This is The Greek word for is that is found only in the Majority Text of the Textus Receptus) and therefore  the failure  to correctly translate “ictin” [Is Here] into English.

 

 The Authorized King James Version AKJV also known as The Authorized Version AV and the Geneva Bible stand alone in taking their correct translation from the Traditional Text AKA The Textus Receptus: “is here”.

 

This  error: “has come” is self-evident, because non-believers, false prophets and even heretics  can, and sometimes will,  make the confession that He “has come” in the flesh. This is no surprise because the birth of Jesus Christ is the most well documented fact in all of recorded history.  Indeed, it is a true and factual statement that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. Yet, while this is, a true and factual statement, the meaning in scripture has now been erroneously changed. The new and erroneous meaning is that now even if He “has come” in the flesh  the confession that JESUS CHRIST IS HERE IN THE FLESH is impossible for THE SPIRIT OF ANTICHRIST who is the creator of all heresies  to make. Without this confession, don’t  believe anything  that you read or hear.

 

NEITHER does it provide for the test for believers to discern whether a spirit [voice or written words being read or heard] are from God or from the Antichrist.  It is  true that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh, but it’s essential that the confession that Jesus Christ,  “IS HERE IN THE FLESH” Be made  [be spoken].

By Reading, comparing and meditating on any specific Scripture together with other relevant Scriptures, God’s Word clarifies and self-authenticates:

Why Have Traditional  Sacred Hymns Endured for Such a Long aTime? 
 

Because God preserves and protects His Word. The lyrics in Sacred hymns are divinely God breathed [Inspired and Spoken by God] words and are therefore infinite, immutable and eternal.

Such worship may take place through, congregational singing of sacred hymns and spiritual songs, reading, preaching and obeying God’s Word, sharing Christian love and fellowship, agreeing together  with  specific public prayer requests, and reading and exhorting one another in the Word, to provoke one another to love and serve and bear witness with one another in the Holy Ghost.

Jon was called home by his loving Father in Heaven on January 16, 2021 leaving a legacy of this Website to minister to all who will  benefit in this labor of Love to the glorify God and His Eternal Kingdom. ALL Glory belongs to GOD, alone.

 Jon loved to say, “I’m a blood-bought, born-again Child of God!” to anyone he happened to meet.

… Jon’s  testimony lives on from one who, by grace, through faith was forever accepted in the Beloved; who’s loving ways brought the good news of Jesus to many. and one who is now present with the LORD  in glory forever.  One who, one day, we’ll reunite..

…Jon would always say “Later”; [as in, see-ya later] instead of “good bye”.  It was the only farewell greeting he would ever use when parting company with a friend; and, everyone was Jon’s friend.

 … He would never  say “good-bye”.

Now, as we remember the sound of him saying “Later”, it rings true in a  new and deeper meaning and it brings a joy and comfort to the hearts of those whom he loved so well; those who love him still and will forever more.
