PRAYER 22, June 8th Part 1 of 10 THE PRESENCE OF GOD
OUR Father, which art in heaven, our hearts are full of gratitude to Thee for Thy Word. We bless Thee that we have it in our houses [homes] , that Thou hast [have] given to many of us to understand it and to enjoy it. Although as yet we know not what we shall know, yet have we learned from it what we never can forget, that which has changed our lives has removed our burdens, has comforted our hearts, has set our faces like flints against sin and made us eager after perfect holiness. [We thank and praise You for the timeless, unchangeable gift of Your Word [the Holy Bible] in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.]

ANECDOTE 306: June 8th WON THROUGH PRAYER
In one of the States of America there was an infidel who was a great despiser of God, a hater of the Sabbath and all religious institutions.
What to do with him the ministers did not know. They met together and prayed for him. But among the rest, one Elder B… resolved to spend a long time in prayer for the man; after that he got on horseback, and rode down to the man’s forge, for he was a blacksmith. He left his horse outside [did not unsaddle or put his horse in the barn], and said, “Neighbor, I am under very great concern about your soul’s salvation; I tell you I pray day and night for your soul’s salvation.”
He left him, and rode home on his horse. The man [the blacksmith] went inside to his house, after a minute or two, and said to one of his infidel friends,
“Here’s a new argument; here’s Elder B… been down here, he did not dispute [argue], and never said a word to me except this,
‘I say, I am under great concern about your soul; I can not bear you should be lost.’ 0h! that fellow,” he said, “I can not answer him; “and the tears began to roll down his cheeks. He went to his wife, and said, “I can’t make this out; I never cared about my soul, but here’s an elder, that has no connection with me, but I have always laughed at him, and he has come five miles this morning on horseback just to tell me he is under concern about my salvation.”
After a little while he thought it was time he should be under concern about his salvation too. He went in, shut the door, began to pray, and the next day he was at the deacon’s house, telling him that he too was under concern about his salvation, and asking him to tell him what he must do to be saved. ________________________________________

There is no -if- in the matter, for I am sure I lack it. What do I know? How can I guide my own way? How can I direct others? Lord, I am a mass of folly [foolishness], and wisdom I have none. Thou sayest [say],
-Let him ask of God.-
Lord, I now ask. Here at thy footstool [by Your feet] I ask to be furnished with heavenly wisdom for this day’s perplexities, ay, [yes] and for this day’s simplicities; [simple things] for I know I may do very stupid things, even in plain matters, unless thou dost [do] keep me out of mischief.
I thank thee that all I have to do is to ask. What grace is this on thy part, that I have only to pray in faith, and thou wilt give me wisdom!
Thou dost here promise me a liberal education, and that, too, without an angry tutor, or a scolding usher [Security] . This, too, thou wilt bestow without a fee - bestow it on a fool who lacks wisdom.
O Lord, I thank thee for that positive and expressive word, -It shall be given him.-
I believe it.
Thou wilt this day make thy babe to know the hidden wisdom which the

MORNING June 8th "THERE FELL DOWN MANY SLAIN, BECAUSE THE WAR WAS OF GOD." —1 Chronicles 5:22

[Behold] WARRIOR, fighting under the banner of the Lord Jesus, observe this verse with holy joy, for as it was in the days of old so is it now:
if the war be of God the victory is sure.
The sons of Reuben, and the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh could barely muster [gather] five and forty thousand [45,000] fighting men, and yet in their war with the Hagarites, they slew [killed], “an hundred thousand [100,000] men,” "for they cried to God in the battle, and He was entreated of them, [heard them] because they put their trust in Him."
The Lord saves not by many nor by few; it is ours to go forward in Jehovah's name if we have but a handful of men, for the Lord of Hosts is with us for our Captain. They did not neglect buckler [small shield with a handle], sword, and bow; neither did they place their trust in these weapons.
We must use all proper means, but
our confidence must rest in the Lord alone, for He is the sword and the shield of His people.
The great reason of their extraordinary success lay in the fact that
"the war was of God."
Beloved, in fighting with sin without and within, with error doctrinal or practical, with spiritual wickedness in high places or low places, with devils and the devil's allies; you are waging Jehovah's war, and unless He himself can be defeated, you need not fear it.
Cower not before superior numbers, shrink not from difficulties or impossibilities, flinch not at wounds or death. Smite with the two-edged sword of the Spirit, and the slain will lie in heaps [piles].
The battle is the Lord's and He will deliver His enemies into our hands. With steadfast foot, strong hand, dauntless heart, and flaming zeal, rush to the conflict, and
the hosts of evil will fly like chaff before the gale [wind storm].

GOD had made a positive promise to Moses that for the space of a whole month He would feed the vast host [great army] in the wilderness with flesh. Moses, being overtaken by a fit of unbelief, looked to the outward means, and was at a loss to know how the promise could be fulfilled. He looked to the creature [man] instead of the Creator. But does the Creator expect the creature to fulfill his promise for Him?
No; He who makes the promise ever fulfills it by His own unaided omnipotence [infinite power].
If He speaks, it is done—done by Himself.
His promises do not depend for their fulfillment on the co-operation of the puny strength of man.
We can at once perceive [see] the mistake which Moses made. And yet how commonly we do the same!
God has promised to supply our needs, and we look to the creature [man] to do what God has promised to do; and then, because we perceive the creature [man] to be weak and feeble, we indulge in [succumb to] unbelief. Why do we look to that quarter at all?
Do you look to the top of the Alps for summer heat? Do you journey to the north pole to gather fruits ripened in the sun? Verily, you act no more foolishly when you do this than when you look to the weak for strength, and to the creature [man] to do the Creator's work.
Let us, then, put the question on the right footing. The ground of faith is not the sufficiency of the visible means for the performance of the promise, but the all-sufficiency of the invisible God, who will most surely do as He has said. If after clearly seeing that the obligation lies with the Lord and not with the creature [man], we dare to indulge in mistrust, the question of God comes home mightily to us:
"Has the Lord's hand waxed short [become short] ?"
May it happen, too, in His mercy, that with the question there may flash on our souls that blessed declaration,
“Thou shalt [shall] see now whether My word shall come to pass unto thee or not.”

A SINNER’S PRAYER
Whosoever shall call on the name of the lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21
Pray, calling on the name of the Lord Jesus, like this. Won’t you?
“Lord Jesus, I’m a sinner. I’m lost and hopeless to save myself. Without you and your blood that was shed for me and Your death on the cross I would spend eternity in Hell’s fire.
Thank you Lord Jesus that You love me and died for me before I was born and that You have always loved me and will never reject or turn your back on me. I know You are the Way, the Truth and the Life and that no one can come to the Father but by You.
Thank you, Father that You have caused for me to see myself as I am; a lost sinner. But, because of Your love and goodness, You have made a way and given me the desire to come to You, to turn away from my sin and to trust in You, Lord Jesus. You took my place on the cross and provided the way for me to be forgiven. Thank You.
Thank You that You prompted a desire in me to believe in You, the only begotten Son of God who died on the cross to be the sacrifice that would atone for my sins.
Thank You, Father for Your love that allowed Jesus to suffer and die in my place. Thank You that You raised Jesus from the dead. He is RISEN and is ALIVE and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave and in Christ Jesus I am free. You raised Jesus from the dead, gave Him a Glorified body and after he was seen by many witnesses on earth You took Him up to reign with You in heaven. Thank you, Father, for saving me in the name, of Your only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

No, I’m Traditional Text only. But if you come to the view and the conviction of being Traditional Text only, you will be Only King James.
The issue is not translational.
Marketing ploys by publishing companies with little basis in reality would have us to believe that the new versions are:

Easier to read.

More modern.

More accurate (Not true)
The truth is that the KJV remains The most popular. (is still the most popularly read Bible in America). Over five billion copies of the King James (1769) is greater than all the other versions and editions combined.
The issue comes down to the textual issue. By That, I refer to the underlying Greek text. I guess we could say texts, plural but particularly that of the New Testament. On the one hand is the Traditional Text from which the only major English translation is the King James Version of the Bible. The Traditional Text.
On the other hand, is the Critical Text sometimes called the eclectic text from whence all the other translations come. And some will say well there really is no difference between them. The difference you could amount to is just the footnotes in the bottom of a page. (This is Not true) He was not dishonest but just repeating what someone had told him.
