PRAYER 23, June 21st Part 3 of 7
3 Blessed be Thy name [Lord Jesus] forever and ever. But there are some who have never come to Thee [You]; they are hearers, but hearers only; they have listened to gracious invitations thousands of times, but they have never accepted them. Say unto them, “Thereto hast thou [so far have you] gone, but no further shalt thou [you] proceed in thy [your] carelessness and trifling. Here shalt thou [you shall] stay and turn unto [to] Thy [Your] God.” O Savior, Thou hast [You have] all power in heaven and earth, therefore Thou canst [You can] through the preaching of Thy [Your] Word influence the hearts of men. Turn them, and they shall be turned. Oh! do it this day. We would now in our prayers come [We now want to come]; as we came at first would we come again; we would renew our vows, we would again repeat our repentance and our faith, and then look at the brazen serpent and touch but the border of Thy [Your] garment. We would [want to] begin again. O, Lord, help us to do it in sincerity and truth. And first we do confess that we are by nature lost and by practice [our behavior] ruined. Rather an unusual text, but there may be souls in the world that may have faith enough to grasp it. Barak, the man, though called to the war, had little stomach for the fight unless Deborah would go with him, and so the Lord determined to make it a woman s war. By this means He rebuked the slackness of the man, and gained for Himself the more renown, and cast the more shame upon the enemies of His people. The Lord can still use feeble instrumentalities. Why not me? He may use persons who are not commonly called to great public engagements. Why not you? The woman who slew the enemy of Israel was no Amazon, but a wife who tarried in her tent. She was no orator, but a woman who milked the cows and made butter. May not [can t] the Lord use any one of us to accomplish His purpose? Somebody may come to the house today, even as Sisera came to Jael s tent. Be it ours, [Guide us Lord] not to slay him, but to save him. Let us receive him with great kindness, and then bring forth the blessed truth of salvation by the Lord Jesus, our great Substitute, and press home the command, -Believe and live.- Who knoweth but [who knows if] some stouthearted sinner may be slain [converted, saved] by the gospel today?
Thank You Lord Jesus, that You may choose to use even me to bring the truth of salvation to someone today. Please give me a willing heart and a firm resolve to follow You each step of the way in Your name Lord Jesus I pray, Amen. Please send the name of anyone who would like to receive this daily message.

MORNING June 21st "THOU [YOU {LORD}] ART FAIRER THAN THE CHILDREN OF MEN." —Psalm 45:2

THE entire person of Jesus is but as one gem [precious stone], and His life is all along [always] but [only] one impression of the [royal] seal. He is altogether complete; not only in His several parts, but as a gracious all-glorious whole.
His character is not a mass of fair colors mixed confusedly, nor a heap of precious stones laid carelessly one upon another; He is a picture of beauty and a breastplate of glory. In Him, all the "things of good repute" are in their proper places, and assist in adorning each other. Not one feature in His glorious person attracts attention at the expense of others; but he is perfectly and altogether lovely.
Oh, Jesus! Your power, Your grace, Your justice, Your tenderness, Your truth, Your majesty, and Your immutability [unchanging essence] make up such a man, or rather such a God-man, as neither heaven nor earth has seen elsewhere. Your infancy, Your eternity, Your sufferings, Your triumphs, Your death, and Your immortality, are all woven in one gorgeous tapestry [artistic wall hanging] , without seam or rent [rip]. EVENING June 21st "THE FOUNDATION OF GOD STANDETH SURE [Stands Firm] . " —2 Timothy 2:19

THE foundation on which our faith rests is this, that "God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them." The great fact on which genuine faith relies is that "the Word [Jesus Christ] was made flesh [a physical man] and dwelt among us," and that "Christ also hath suffered for sin, the just for the un just, that He might bring us to God," "Who Himself bare our sins in His own body on the tree [cross]," "For the chas tisement [punishment] of our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed." In one word, the great pillar of the Christian's hope is substitution. The vicarious sacrifice of Christ for the guilty, Christ being made sin for us that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him, Christ offering up a true and proper expiatory and substitutionary sacrifice in the place and stead of as many as the Father gave Him, who are known to God by name, and are recognized in their own hearts by their trusting in Jesus—this is the cardinal [primary] fact of the gospel. If this foundation were removed, what could we do? But it stands firm as the throne of God. We know it; we rest on it; we rejoice in it; and our delight is to hold it, to meditate on it, and to proclaim it, while we desire to be actuated [motivated] and moved by gratitude for it in every part of our life and conversation. In these days a direct attack is being made on the doctrine of the atonement. Men can not bear substitution. They gnash their teeth at the thought of the Lamb of God bearing the sin of man. But we, who know by experience the preciousness of this truth, will proclaim it in defiance of them confidently and unceasingly. We will neither dilute it nor change it, nor fritter it away in any shape or fashion. It will still be Christ, a positive substitute, bearing human guilt and suffering in the stead of men. We cannot, dare not, give it up, for it is our life, and despite every controversy we feel that "Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure. [stands firm, unshakable]"

WHAT IS THE MEANING OF HIS NAME?
(1 One) His Name is INCOMPREHENSIBLE!
Exodus 3:13-15 “13 And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? 14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. 15 And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.”

No, I’m Traditional Text only. But if you come to the view and the conviction of being Traditional Text only, you will be Only King James.
The issue is not translational.
Marketing ploys by publishing companies with little basis in reality would have us to believe that the new versions are:

Easier to read.

More modern.
-
More accurate (Not true)
The truth is that the KJV remains The most popular. (is still the most popularly read Bible in America). Over five billion copies of the King James (1769) is greater than all the other versions and editions combined.
The issue comes down to the textual issue. By That, I refer to the underlying Greek text. I guess we could say texts, plural but particularly that of the New Testament. On the one hand is the Traditional Text from which the only major English translation is the King James Version of the Bible. The Traditional Text.
On the other hand, is the Critical Text sometimes called the eclectic text from whence all the other translations come. And some will say well there really is no difference between them. The difference you could amount to is just the footnotes in the bottom of a page. (This is Not true) He was not dishonest but just repeating what someone had told him.

There were 1,300 editions printed before 1938, 250 years after the Bunyan’s death. Hence, the world’s most famous Allegory.

It was a, hard time for Mansoul then; but when at last the battering rams had broken down the gates, and the silver trumpets sounded, and the prince’s captains entered the breach, then on a day the prince himself did ride down the city’s streets, while liberated citizens welcomed him with all their hearts, hung out all their streamers, and made the church towers rock again as the bells rang out merry peals [happy melodies] , for the king himself was come. Up to the castle of the heart [main castle] he rode in triumph, and took his royal throne to be henceforth the sole lord and king of the city.
Christ in you is a right royal word. Christ swaying his scepter from the center of your being over every power and faculty, desire and resolve, bringing every thought into captivity to himself, Oh, this is glory begun, and the sure pledge of heaven. Oh, for more of the imperial sovereignty of Jesus, The Messiah; our liberty to be absolutely under his sway.

Lord, Thou hast [have] been full of truth and faithfulness to us throughout every step of our journey, and though Thou hast [have] not withheld the rod of the covenant from us, we are as grateful for that, this morning, as for the kisses of Thy lips. Thou hast [have] dealt well with ]well treated] Thy servants according to Thy Word. . [Thank You for the endless, supernatural, unchangeable, infallible gift of Your written Word to us (the Bible) in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.]

3 Blessed be Thy name forever and ever. But there are some who have never come to Thee; they are hearers, but hearers only; they have listened to gracious invitations thousands of times, but they have never accepted them. Say unto them,
“Thereto hast [so far have] thou gone, but no further shalt thou proceed in thy carelessness and trifling [pass-times]. Here shalt [shall] thou stay and turn unto Thy God.”
O Savior, Thou hast [have] all power in heaven and earth, therefore Thou canst [can] through the preaching of Thy Word influence the hearts of men.
Turn them, and they shall be turned.
Oh! do it this day. We would [want] now in our prayers come; as we came at first would we come again; we would renew our vows, we would again repeat our repentance and our faith, and then look at the brazen serpent and touch but the border of Thy garment.
We would [want to] begin again. O, Lord, help us to do it in sincerity and truth. And first we do confess that we are by nature lost and by practice ruined. We are altogether as an unclean thing, and
all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags.
We would lie at those dear pierced feet, bleeding at heart [heartbroken] because of sin, wounded, mangled, crushed by the fall and by our own transgression [sin].
We confess that if Thou shouldst [should] number our sins upon us and deal with us accordingly we should be sent to the lowest hell.

Rather an unusual text, but there may be souls in the world that may have faith enough to grasp it. Barak, the man, though called to the war, had little stomach for the fight unless Deborah would go with him, and so the Lord determined to make it a woman’s war. By this means He rebuked the slackness of the man, and gained for Himself the more renown, and cast the more shame upon the enemies of His people.
The Lord can still use feeble instrumentalities. Why not me?
He may use persons who are not commonly called to great public engagements. Why not you?
The woman who slew the enemy of Israel was no Amazon, [gigantic woman] but a wife who tarried in her tent. She was no orator, but a woman who milked the cows and made butter.
May not the Lord use any one of us to accomplish His purpose? Somebody may come to the house today, even as Sisera came to Jael’s tent.
Be it ours, [Help us Lord] not to slay him, but to save him.
Let us receive him with great kindness, and then bring forth the blessed truth of salvation by the Lord Jesus, our great Substitute, and press home the command,
-Believe and live.-
Who knoweth [knows] but [that] some stouthearted sinner may be slain [saved] by the gospel today?
Prayer: Thank You Lord Jesus, that You may choose to use, even me, to bring the truth of salvation to someone today. Please give me a willing heart to follow You each step of the way in Your name Lord Jesus I pray, Amen.

THE entire person of Jesus is but as one gem [precious stone], and His life is all along [always] but [only] one impression of the [royal] seal. He is altogether complete; not only in His several parts, but as a gracious all-glorious whole.
His character is not a mass of fair colors mixed confusedly, nor a heap of precious stones laid carelessly one upon another; He is a picture of beauty and a breastplate of glory.
In Him, all the "things of good repute"
are in their proper places, and assist in adorning each other. Not one feature in His glorious person attracts attention at the expense of others; but he is perfectly and altogether lovely.
Oh, Jesus! Your power, Your grace, Your justice, Your tenderness, Your truth, Your majesty, and Your immutability [unchanging and unchangeable essence] make up such a man, or rather such a God-man, as neither heaven nor earth has seen elsewhere.

THE foundation on which our faith rests is this, that
"God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them."
The great fact on which genuine faith relies is that "the Word [Jesus Christ] was made flesh [a human man] and dwelt among us," and that
"Christ also hath [has] suffered for sin, the just for the un just, that He might bring us to God,"
"Who Himself bare our sins in His own body on the tree [cross]," "For the chastisement [punishment] of our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed."
In one word, the great pillar of the Christian's hope is substitution.
The vicarious sacrifice of Christ for the guilty, Christ being made sin for us that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him, Christ offering up a true and proper expiatory [having power to atone for or offered by way of expiation or propitiation. “expiatory (or propitiatory) sacrifice”] and substitutionary sacrifice in the place and stead of as many as the Father gave Him, who are known to God by name, and are recognized in their own hearts by their trusting in Jesus—this is the cardinal [primary] fact of the gospel.
If this foundation were removed, what could we do?
But it stands firm as the throne of God. We know it; we rest on it; we rejoice in it; and our delight is to hold it, to meditate on it, and to proclaim it, while we desire to be actuated [motivated] and moved by gratitude for it in every part of our life and conversation.
In these days a direct attack is being made on the doctrine of the atonement.
Men can not bear substitution. They gnash their teeth at the thought of the Lamb of God bearing the sin of man. But we, who know by experience the preciousness of this truth, will proclaim it in defiance of them confidently and unceasingly.
We will neither dilute it nor change it, nor fritter it away in any shape or fashion.
It will still be Christ, a positive substitute, bearing human guilt and suffering in the stead of men. We cannot, dare not, give it up, for it is our life, and despite every controversy we feel [know] that
"Nevertheless, the foundation of God standeth [stands]" sure.

Note: JM witnessed the last few hours of his *Daddy’s life on earth coming to an end and heard him say “Amen” over and over, affirming his own life’s conclusion and giving testimony of God’s goodness to him and his agreement and surrender to his earthly departure to be eternally present with the Lord Jesus.

A SINNER’S PRAYER: … FOR WHOSOEVER WILL: [For One and all]

Call on the name of the Lord Jesus and be saved … pray like this, won’t you?
“Lord Jesus, I’m a lost sinner and without You I am hopeless. I can’t save myself. Without your death on the cross for my sin debt I would be condemned to spend eternity condemned to Hell. I have been self-centered from birth. Please forgive me.
I realize that doing my best, being as good as possible, or being better than other people can never save me. . I’m guilty and sorry for each and every sin I have done and look to You to forgive me of them all.
I look to You, alone Lord Jesus to save me.
I call on You, Lord Jesus, right now to save me. You died on the cross for me, because of my sin and You say, “It shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21.
Right now, just as I am, I call on You, Lord Jesus to save me, I trust You, to be my Lord and Savior from now on.
Thank You, Lord Jesus, that You have forgiven me of all my sins. I ask You to abide in me and give me the desire to always follow You.
You paid the price for all of my sins by dying on the cross. Even the sins of the whole world.
Thank you, Lord Jesus that You loved me and died for me even before I was born and that You still love me now. I love You too.
Thank you, Heavenly Father, that You have called me away from sin and death into the Life everlasting in Your only begotten son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Thank You, Heavenly Father that you raised Jesus from the dead. He is ALIVE and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave. Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. [Holy Ghost, Comforter, Spirit of Truth]
Thank You for saving me heavenly Father. With all my heart, thank you Father for saving me in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Allow us to share the joy of your new birth with heaven. Won’t you? Heaven rejoices over each redeemed sinner. Luke 15:7

In 1870, The Anglican Church of England passed a resolution to revise the English Bible. The New Testament revision committee which finally consisted of 25 scholars (though only about 16 eventually attended the meetings) which included Westcott and Hort. The committee worked for ten years in the Jerusalem chamber, and these two scholars swept the Revision Committee along with them after work commenced. In fact, the “Cambridge trio” (Westcott, Hort and Lightfoot) colluded with others to dominate the meetings with their views of the text and to defeat any who opposed them. Their *letters reveal this conspiracy:

The only voice defending the Textus Receptus was Dr Scrivener, probably the foremost scholar of the day in the manuscripts of the Greek New Testament and the history of the Text. But he was systematically outvoted by the Cambridge trio and outdone by Hort’s powerful debating skill. When the revision was completed, the revision committee had altered the Greek Text in 5,337 places,
thus violating the original rule that had been set for the committee of not altering the Greek Text unless absolutely necessary to do so.

CONCLUSION
In conclusion, let it be said that no matter how good any modern version of the New Testament is in other ways, it is clearly blemished if the work of Westcott and Hort is present in it. The presence of their work means that it is based on a defective text. Those who want to honor the Word of God must not promote the use of any of these versions by the church, not because the content of the version is entirely evil in itself, but because being contented to use a weakened version rather than the existing, preserved, without error unblemished one, dishonors God. If God has preserved for His people a good Greek text of the New Testament for 18 centuries, how dishonoring it would be to Him if His people now chose instead to use versions that are based on defective Greek manuscript created by Westcott & Hort or Nestle & Aland.
