A SINNER’S PRAYER:
CONTENTS:
SERMON: Communion With Christ Ephesians 3:19 from Spurgeon’s Metropolitan Tabernacle (London)
with Dr. Peter Masters
Communion is described by Paul, not in terms of a mystical sensation, but as the realisation of Christ's love in our 'inner lives'. Here we see how His love passes knowledge; how it is a lifelong and eternally-progressive appreciation; how it transforms us; and how it makes us feel.
PRAISE: The Love of God Gaither, Penrod, Phelps, Gardner et. al.…be filled with the Spirit; speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody [music] in your heart to the Lord; Ephesians 5:18-19
PRAYER 13, Part 9 of 11
THE WINGS OF PRAYER.
Lord, hear the confessions of any that have back-slidden, who are rather marring [defacing] Thine image than perfecting it. Hear the prayers of any that are conscious of great defects during the past. Give them peace of mind by pardon, but give them strength of mind also to keep clear of such mischief [sin] in the future.
O Lord, we are sighing and crying more and more after Thyself. The more we have of Thee the more we want Thee; the more we grow like Thee; the more we perceive our defects, and the more we pine after [are heart-sick until we find] a higher standard, to reach even unto perfection’s self.
[I pray this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ Amen.]

ANECDOTE 237: Deaf Hearers.
Many years ago a friend said that he could not hear me preach. I said to him, “Buy a horn.” [the first hearing aid] “No,” he said, “it is not your voice; I can hear that, but I don’t enjoy it.” My reply was “Perhaps that is my fault, but I am far from sure that it is not your own. “I fear, in such cases, it is quite as often the hearer’s fault as the preacher’s fault.
At any rate, when others profit, and our judgment approves, though our hearts find no refreshment, there is reason to suspect that in the dullness of our senses we are compelled to bear chastisement [conviction] for our unbelief. You go where others go, and find no solace [comfort] . You hear what edifies [builds-up] and comforts them; but there is no cheer for you. You are deaf; your ears are closed to what the Lord says.
FAITH’S CHECKBOOK MARCH 28 LEAD THE WAY C.H. Spurgeon 1834—1892
-The Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail- Deuteronomy 28:13
-Y te pondrá Jehova por cabeza, y no por cola: Deuteronomio 28:13
If we obey the Lord, He will compel our adversaries to see that His blessing rests upon us. Though this be a promise of the law, yet it stands good to the people of God; for Jesus [not only] has removed the curse, but He has established the blessing.
It is for saints to lead the way among men by holy influence: they are not to be the tail, to be dragged hither and thither by others.
We must not yield to the spirit of the age [such as modern textual criticism], but compel the age to do homage [love, respect and be loyal] to Christ. If the Lord be with us, we shall not crave toleration for religion, but we shall seek to seat it on the throne of society.
Has not the Lord Jesus made His people priests? Surely they are to teach, and must not be learners from the philosophies of unbelievers. Are we not in Christ made kings to reign upon the earth? How, then, can we be the servants of custom [cultural traditions or political correctness], the slaves of human opinion?
Have you, dear friend, taken up your true position for Jesus?
Too many are silent because [they are] diffident [apathetic], if not cowardly. Should we allow the name of the Lord Jesus to be kept in the background? Should our religion drag along as a tail? Should it not rather lead the way and be the ruling force with ourselves and others?
Prayer: Thank you, Lord, that You have made us [believers] the head, and not the tail. You have not only removed the curse of the law but You have established the blessing in Christ Jesus. Thank You in Jesus name, Amen.
MORNING March 28
"The love of Christ which passeth [passes] knowledge." —Ephesians 3:19
¾El amor de Cristo, que excede á todo conocimiento —Efesios 3:19
THE love of Christ in its sweetness, its fullness, its greatness, its faithfulness, passes all human comprehension [understanding]. Where can language be found that describes His matchless, His unparalleled love towards the children of men [mankind]? It is so vast and boundless that, as the swallow skims the water, and dives not into its depths, so all descriptive words but touch the surface, while depths immeasurable lie beneath. Well might the poet say,
O love, thou fathomless abyss!
[O love, you bottomless, immeasurable chasm]
for this love of Christ is indeed measureless and fathomless; none can attain unto it. Before we can have any right idea of the love of Jesus, we must understand His previous glory in its height of majesty, and His incarnation on the earth in all its depths of shame.
But who can tell us the majesty of Christ? When He was enthroned in the highest heavens He was very God of very God; by Him were the heavens made, and all the hosts [suns, stars and planets], thereof.
His own almighty arm upheld the spheres [suns, stars and planets], the praises of cherubim and seraphim [angels] perpetually surrounded Him; the full chorus of the hallelujah's of the universe unceasingly flowed to the foot of his throne: He reigned supreme above all His creatures, God over all, blessed for ever. Who can tell His height of glory then? And who, on the other hand, can tell how low He descended?
To be a man was something, to be a man of sorrows was far more. To bleed, and die, and suffer, these were much for him who was the Son of God; but to suffer such unparalleled agony—to endure a death of shame and desertion by His Father, this is a depth of condescending love which the most inspired mind utterly fails to fathom [grasp the depth of it’s essence]. Herein is love! Truly it is love that "passes knowledge." O let this love fill our hearts with adoring gratitude, and lead us to practical manifestations of its power.
EVENING March 28
"I will accept you with your sweet savor [fragrance]. "— Ezekiel 20:41
¾En olor de suavidad os aceptaré, Ezequiel 20:41
THE merits of our great Redeemer [The Lord Jesus] are as sweet savor [fragrance] to the Most High. Whether we speak of the active or passive righteousness of Christ, there is an equal fragrance. There was a sweet savor [fragrance] in His active life by which He honored the law of God, and made every precept to glitter like a precious jewel in the pure setting of His own person. Such, too, was His passive obedience, when He endured with unmurmuring submission hunger and thirst, cold and nakedness, and at length sweat great drops of blood in [the garden of] Gethsemane.
He gave His back to the smiters [those who whipped with lashes], and His cheeks to them that plucked out the hair [beard], and was fastened [nailed] to the cruel wood [cross], that He might suffer the wrath of God in our behalf.
These two things are sweet before the Most High; and for the sake of His doing and His dying, His substitutionary sufferings and His vicarious obedience, the Lord our God accepts us.
What a preciousness must there be in Him to overcome our lack of preciousness! What a sweet savor [fragrance] to put away our ill savor [stink]! What a cleansing power in His blood to take away sin such as ours; and what glory in His righteousness to make such unacceptable creatures to be
accepted in the Beloved!
Mark, believer, how sure and unchanging must be our acceptance since it is in Him! Take care that you never doubt your acceptance in Jesus. You cannot be accepted without Christ; but, when you have received His merit, you cannot be unaccepted. Notwithstanding all your doubts, and fears, and sins, Jehovah's gracious eye never looks upon you in anger. Though He sees sin in you alone, when He looks at you through Christ, He sees no sin.
You are always accepted in Christ—always blessed and dear to the Father's heart. Therefore, lift up a song, and as you see the smoking incense of the merit of the Savior coming up, this evening, let the incense [fragrance] of your praise go up before the sapphire throne also.

A SINNER’S PRAYER: … FOR WHOSOEVER: [One and all]
Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21
Call on the name of the Lord Jesus and be saved … pray like this, won’t you?
“Lord Jesus, I’m a lost sinner and without You I am hopeless. I can’t save myself. Without your death on the cross for my sin debt I would be condemned to spend eternity condemned to Hell. I have been self-centered from birth. Please forgive me.
I realize that doing my best, being as good as possible, or being better than other people can never save me. . I’m guilty and sorry for each and every sin I have done and look to You to forgive me of them all.
I look to You, alone Lord Jesus to save me.
I call on You, Lord Jesus, right now to save me. You died on the cross for me, because of my sin and You say, “It shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21.
Right now, just as I am, I call on You, Lord Jesus to save me, I trust You, to be my Lord and Savior from now on.
Thank You, Lord Jesus, that You have forgiven me of all my sins. I ask You to abide in me and give me the desire to always follow You.
You paid the price for all of my sins by dying on the cross. Even the sins of the whole world.
Thank you, Lord Jesus that You loved me and died for me even before I was born and that You still love me now. I love You too.
Thank you, Heavenly Father, that You have called me away from sin and death into the Life everlasting in Your only begotten son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Thank You, Heavenly Father that you raised Jesus from the dead. He is ALIVE and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave. Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. [Holy Ghost, Comforter, Spirit of Truth]
Thank You for saving me heavenly Father. With all my heart, thank you Father for saving me in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Allow us to share the joy of your new birth with heaven. Won’t you? Heaven rejoices over each redeemed sinner. Luke 15:7

Prayer: Lord Jesus, please bless Your disciples toward the winning of many souls, and help us to be loving and compassionate toward all who are in need, especially those in the household of faith. I pray this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and for His sake, Amen.
Disclaimer: The John Mark Publishing Company does not praise or exalt Charles H. Spurgeon beyond the honor due him. He didn’t need or want it when he was on earth and would have no need or desire for it now. Our aim is to lift up and glorify the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and to preach HIM and Him crucified.
Precaution: These Messages and prayers alone will not substitute for continual fellowship with the Lord Jesus. Neither do they replace personal reading, meditation, prayer and fasting over God's divinely preserved and eternal Word. (The King James version (KJV), known also as the Authorized Version (AV), is the preferred English Bible because its accuracy and fidelity to the Greek Textus Receptus [received text] and the Hebrew Masoretic Text) avoid doctrinal and editorial weaknesses found in many contemporary editions.
Prayer Selection by Spurgeon must not be offered as a substitute for personal, intimate fervent, heart-felt, prayer. It is intended rather, to warm the hearts of those who are in prayer seeking a season of authentic two-way, heart-to-heart fellowship and prayer with the Father, His Son and the Holy Spirit. Read from the NT Book of Romans Chapter 8.

VIDEO To explain the explosion [over 100] of English Translations of the Holy BIBLE (Video)
In 1870, The Anglican Church of England passed a resolution to revise the English Bible. The New Testament revision committee which finally consisted of 25 scholars (though only about 16 eventually attended the meetings) which included Westcott and Hort. The committee worked for ten years in the Jerusalem chamber, and these two scholars swept the Revision Committee along with them after work commenced. In fact, the “Cambridge trio” (Westcott, Hort and Lightfoot) colluded with others to dominate the meetings with their views of the text and to defeat any who opposed them. Their *letters reveal this conspiracy:
* Letters from close relatives are quoted in the Inside Story above
The only voice defending the Textus Receptus was Dr Scrivener, probably the foremost scholar of the day in the manuscripts of the Greek New Testament and the history of the Text. But he was systematically outvoted by the Cambridge trio and outdone by Hort’s powerful debating skill. When the revision was completed, the revision committee had altered the Greek Text in 5,337 places,
thus violating the original rule that had been set for the committee of not altering the Greek Text unless absolutely necessary to do so.

CONCLUSION
In conclusion, let it be said that no matter how good any modern version of the New Testament is in other ways, it is clearly blemished if the work of Westcott and Hort is present in it. The presence of their work means that it is based on a defective text. Those who want to honor the Word of God must not promote the use of any of these versions by the church, not because the content of the version is evil in itself, but because the attitude of being contented to use a blemished version rather than an existing unblemished one, dishonors God. If God has taken the trouble to preserve for His people a good Greek text of the New Testament for 18 centuries, how dishonoring it would be to Him if His people now chose instead to change over to a version that is based on a defective text.
Let the biblical story of Nadab and Abihu be a lesson to all:
And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not. And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD. Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the LORD spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace. And Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said unto them, Come near, carry your brethren from before the sanctuary out of the camp. So they went near, and carried them in their coats out of the camp; as Moses had said. And Moses said unto Aaron, and unto Eleazar and unto Ithamar, his sons, Uncover not your heads, neither rend your clothes; lest ye die, and lest wrath come upon all the people: but let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which the LORD hath kindled” (Lev 10:1–6).
