PRAYER 22, June 18th Part 11 of 11 THE PRESENCE OF GOD by Charles Spurgeon
God bless our country! God save our Sovereign [King]! Grant guidance at this time to all with regard to the political affairs of this nation. Grant Thy blessing to all ranks and conditions of men, and let every nation call Thee “blessed” Let all tongues speak the name of Jesus and all men own Him as Lord and King. We ask it in His name. Amen. [I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.] (Attachment: PRAYER 22.doc)
ANECDOTE 322: June 18th A PRAYER-LESS MAN.
You may be a very rich man, and have large estates, but I would sooner occupy the place of the poorest believing pauper in the workhouse [poorhouse] than take your position without God and without a throne of grace.
How do people live that have no God to go to?
If a man were to say to me, “I never get a morsel of bread to eat at all,” I should wonder how he lived. But when a man says, “I never pray, and God never hears me,” I am in equal wonder.
ANECDOTE 316: (REPEATED) PRAYER ABOUT COMMON MERCIES.
SFX: A Raven’s Cry (click to hear a Raven’s calls)
Though your prayer should only be about worldly things, and be nothing more than a merely natural prayer, yet pray it ; for “He heareth [hears] the young ravens when they cry,” and I am sure they do not pray spiritual prayers. All that ravens can ask for will be worms and flies, and yet he hears them, and feeds them; and you, a man, though you may but pray at this time for a very commonplace mercy, one of the slighter [lesser] blessings, yet you may pray with confidence if you have any faith in the gracious Lord.
FAITH’S CHECKBOOK June 18th GOD HIMSELF SHALL WORK
by C.H. Spurgeon 1834 - 1892
-Now will I rise, saith the Lord; now will I be exalted; now will I lift up myself- Isaiah 33:10
-Ahora me levantare, dice Jehova; ahora sere ensalzado, ahora sere engrandecido- Isaias 33:10
When the spoilers [enemies] had made the land as waste [destroyed it] as if devoured by locusts
[flying insects], and the warriors who had defended the country sat down and wept like women, then the Lord came to the rescue. When travelers ceased from the roads to Zion, and Bashan and Carmel were as vineyards from which the fruit has failed [crop failure], then the Lord arose. God is exalted in the midst of an afflicted people, for they seek His face and trust Him. He is still more exalted when, in answer to their cries,
He lifts up Himself to deliver them and overthrow their enemies.
Is it a day of sorrow with us? Let us expect to see the Lord glorified in our deliverance. Are we drawn out in fervent [whole hearted] prayer? Do we cry day and night unto Him?
Then the set time for His grace is near. God will lift up Himself at the right season. He will arise when it will be most [the best time] for the display of His glory. We wish for His glory more than we long for our own deliverance. Let the Lord be exalted, and our chief desire is obtained.
Lord, help us in such a way that we may see that thou thyself art [You, Yourself are] working. May we magnify thee [You] in our inmost souls. Make all around us to see how good and great a God thou art [You are].
Prayer: Thank You Lord Jesus, that You are glorified in our deliverance. Help us to be drawn by You into whole hearted prayer. In our pain help us to cry day and night unto You. Because you hear the young Raven’s cry, I know You will also hear my prayer. By this I know that the time for Your grace is near. You will lift up Yourself on our behalf at the exact, right time. You will arise when it will be the best time for the display of Your glory. I trust You, Lord and upon Your Word. Thank You, Lord Jesus, that You remember me, Amen.

MORNING: June 18th "THY REDEEMER." —Isaiah 54:5
–Tu redentor–—Isaías 54:5
JESUS, the Redeemer, is altogether ours and ours forever. All the offices [titles] of [Jesus] Christ are held on our behalf.
He is king for us, priest for us, and prophet for us. Whenever we read a new title of the Redeemer, let us appropriate Him as ours under that name as much as under any other. The shepherd's staff, the father's rod, the captain's sword, the priest's miter, the prince's scepter, the prophet's mantle: all are ours. Jesus has no dignity which he will not employ for our exaltation [good and benefit], and no prerogative which he will not exercise for our *defense. His fullness of Godhead is our unfailing, inexhaustible treasure house.
His manhood, which he took on him for us, is also ours in all its perfection. To us our gracious Lord communicates the spotless virtue of a stainless character; to us he gives the meritorious efficacy of a devoted life; on us he bestows the reward procured by obedient submission and incessant [continual] service.
He makes the unsullied [unspotted] garment of his life our covering beauty; the glittering virtues of his character our ornaments and jewels; and the super-human meekness of his death our boast and glory. He bequeaths [gives] us his manger, from which to learn how God came down to man; and his Cross to teach us how man may go up to God. All his thoughts, emotions, actions, utterances, miracles, and intercessions, were for us. He trod the road of sorrow on our behalf, and hath made over [handed over] to us as his heavenly legacy the full results of all the labors of his life. He is now as much ours as before; and he blushes not to acknowledge himself "our Lord Jesus Christ," though he is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords. Christ everywhere and every way is our Christ, forever and most richly to enjoy.
O my soul, by the power of the Holy Spirit call him this morning "thy Redeemer."

EVENING June 18th "I AM COME INTO MY GARDEN, MY SISTER, MY SPOUSE." —Song of Solomon 5:1
—YO vine á mi huerto, oh hermana, esposa mía—Cantares 5:1
THE heart of the believer is Christ's garden. He bought it with His precious blood, and He enters it and claims it as His own. A garden implies separation. It is not the open common [public park]; it is not a wilderness; it is walled around, or hedged in.
Would that we could see the wall of separation between the church and the world made broader and stronger.
It makes one sad to hear Christians saying, "Well, there is no harm in this; there is no harm in that," thus getting as near to the world as possible.
Grace is at a low ebb [a very poor condition] in the soul [person] that can even raise the question of how far it may go in worldly conformity. A garden is a place of beauty, it far surpasses the wild uncultivated lands.
The genuine Christian must seek to be more excellent in his life than the best moralist,
because Christ's garden ought to produce the best flowers in all the world.
Even the best is poor compared with what Christ's deserves: let us not put Him off [attempt to appease Him] with withering and dwarf plants. The rarest, richest, choicest lilies and roses ought to bloom in the place that Jesus calls His own. The garden is a place of growth.
The saints are not to remain undeveloped, always mere buds and blossoms. We should grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Growth should be rapid where Jesus is the Husbandman [Gardener], and the Holy Spirit [is] the dew from above. A garden is a place of retirement.
So the Lord Jesus Christ would have us reserve our souls as a place in which He can manifest [reveal] Himself, as He does not unto the world. 0 that Christians were more retiring [withdrawn], that they kept their hearts more closely shut up [guarded] for Christ! We often worry and trouble ourselves, like Martha, with much serving so that we have not the room for Christ that Mary had, and do not sit at His feet as we should.
The Lord grant the sweet showers of His grace to water His garden this day [today].

Bridge to Babylon The 1881 Textual Criticism Controversy
URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIC5rUbs_-E&t=9s
(2 hrs. 49 mins.)
This video presents historical evidence explaining the explosion of over 100 published [Google has it at 900] English versions of the Bible. This continuing attempt to replace, add to or take away from or change to a variant reading of the 1769 Edition of The King James Version of the Holy Bible do not prevail because GOD Himself continues to preserve and protect His Holy Scripture from all heresy, blasphemy, confusion and error. In a word GOD”S WORD is IMMUTABLE. Unchanged and unable to be changed, from eternity past throughout all eternity. Jesus Christ is, and has been from the beginning GOD’S Word and GOD. He came to earth as the WORD of GOD INCARNATE [In the Flesh 2026 years ago] Click and Read 1 John 5:7
Note: The New King James Version does NOT follow the Greek Traditional Text, known as the Textus Receptus, [Received Text] but uses instead The Critical Text fabricated by Westcott and Hort and embraced by Nestle & Aland and is therefore inferior to the trustworthy 1769 [1611] King James Version, the KJV! The only version authorized and empowered for translation from the Bishop’s Bible by King James The 1st of Great Britian.
BC/AD versus BCE/CE Is there a difference? (Click to see)
This is a heretical attempt to ignore the birth and life of Jesus Christ and thereby to write Him out of history. The use of a so-called neutral term “BCE” [Before Common Era] to replace the traditional and historically accurate term “BC” [Before Christ] that places all history in its relationship to the birth of Jesus Christ 2026 years ago. It replaces clearly understood words with nebulous and duplicitous terminology and make no mention of Jesus Christ.
* “A.D.” Does not mean “after death” but is the Latin abbreviation Anno Domini [the year of our Lord].
The Lord Jesus Christ has existed from eternity past as the WORD of God. He was born of a virgin 2026 years ago in Bethlehem of Judea, is alive today, and soon is coming to receive his betrothed [legally binding and promised] bride to consummate the marriage and celebrate the Wedding Feast with the Body of Christ.

Jesus Christ [Messiah] (Anointed King)] was born of a virgin 2026 years ago, was crucified, then rose from the dead, victorious over sin, death and the grave and is here in the flesh from GOD, as His Church, The Body of Christ, and will live forever, time without end and He, Himself, is coming again.

Beloved ones, don’t be believing every spirit [everything you hear] but be testing the spirit whether it is of God: because many false prophets have come out in the world. Here’s how you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit [voice] that confesseth [confesses] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh, having come out of God, is of God: and every spirit [voice] that confesseth not [doesn’t confess] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
Therefore: I confess [declare and avow] that “Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh.”

Why Cults, False Teachers and Heretics have tried to delete 1 John 5:7
from the Bible.
By Dr. Phil Stringer
By Dr. Phil Stringer
1 John 5:7 Is The Great Trinitarian Proof Text of The Bible. (For The immutable Doctrine of the Trinity.)
Daniel Webster [Author of the Famous Webster Dictionary] was once asked. “Does it not bother you [Mr. Webster] to believe in the “Trinity” since you cannot explain it?
His answer was, “What would bother me would be to have a God so small that I could fully explain HIM.”

The Lord Jesus *Christ [*Anointed Messiah]
was supernaturally Fathered by the Holy Ghost, and born by a teen-aged virgin girl named Mary 2026 years ago in Bethlehem of Judea.
He was crucified, and His lifeless body was placed in a tomb. After three days, GOD raised HIM from the dead victorious over sin, death and the grave.
He is GOD’S Incarnate WORD and Everlasting SACRIFICE, The LAMB of GOD, [THE WORD of GOD made flesh.] The CHURCH is the BODY of *Christ, *[The MESSIAH.]
[The CHURCH] is HIS espoused [And Already Legally Bound Wife] Bride, for whom HE will come again to consummate their Marriage in the Wedding and Marriage Feast according to the preserved and Protected Words of GOD.
These WORDS are God-Breathed, [Spoken] Eternal WORDS spoken by Almighty GOD. The same GOD who calls Himself “I AM”, is Omni-Lingual, Omnipotent, Omniscient, Immutable, All-Wise, Omnipresent, Eternally and Supremely Holy. He is the One-and-Only Triune, Three-in-One GOD.
“I and my Father are one”. John 10:30
________________________________
1 John 5:7 Is the fundamental scriptural basis for the doctrine and essential tenet of the Trinity. [The Triune, [Three-in-One] GOD in-Three Persons (This verse has been omitted or Changed to diminish the authority and the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ or has been Removed entirely from all Critical Text translations by apostates that hold to the untenable goal of False Doctrine that gives rise to all manner of Cults, False Teaching, Heresies, false Prophets, Agnostics, Gnostics, Atheists and Pagans.
Therefore, The incarnate WORD of GOD, [Jesus *Christ
(*The Anointed MESSIAH) and His Father are ONE.] John 10:30
7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, [Jesus Christ] and the Holy Ghost: and
THESE THREE ARE ONE. John 10:30
8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, [Holy Ghost] and the Water [Life of the Father], and the Blood; [The Sacrificial Blood of Jesus Christ]: and these three AGREE IN ONE. 9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son, [The LORD Jesus *Christ
*(The Anointed Messiah)].
GOD calls Himself “I AM” and Jesus Christ is The WORD made Flesh, GOD’s WORD is infinite and will endure FOREVER, from Eternity Past through the never-ending Eternal Future.

The Traditional Text: It's History & Manifestation
By Dr. David Sorenson
In addition to evidence of authenticity from the 5,321 Majority Text manuscripts, this link presents Translational Evidence that the Traditional Text is both older and better than the variant readings which stem from the highly theoretical Greek Text work of Westcott & Hort and Nestle & Aland.
The Traditional Text is Inerrant, Infallible and is the Inspired [Word-by-Word, GOD-Breathed Greek Text that moved the Prophets and Apostles to write precisely the Greek and Hebrew words they were told to write by the Holy Ghost]
The Traditional Text. Length: (33:56 minutes)
The Traditional Greek Text was printed by Desiderius Erasmus and was used in the FIRST Christian Church at Antioch. It was later called The Received Text [vis. Latin: The Textus Receptus or TR].
Over Five Billion King James Bibles, the 1769 Edition [NOT the NEW King James Bibles based on the inferior Critical Greek Text] account for more sales world-wide than any other version or edition of the Holy Bible.
This is more than all other Bible Versions and Editions Combined.

By Dr. David Sorenson
So, Dr. Sorenson, “I hear You are King James Only.”
No, I’m Traditional Text only. But if you come to the view and the conviction of being Traditional Text only, you will be Only King James.
The issue is not translational.
Marketing ploys by publishing companies with little basis in reality would have us to believe that the new versions are:
-
Easier to read.
-
More modern.
-
More accurate (Not true)
The truth is that the KJV remains The most popular. (is still the most popularly read Bible in America). Over five billion copies of the King James (1769) is greater than all the other versions and editions combined.
The issue comes down to the textual issue. By That, I refer to the underlying Greek text. I guess we could say texts, plural but particularly that of the New Testament. On the one hand is the Traditional Text from which the only major English translation is the King James Version of the Bible. The Traditional Text.
On the other hand, is the Critical Text sometimes called the eclectic text from whence all the other translations come. And some will say well there really is no difference between them. The difference you could amount to is just the footnotes in the bottom of a page. (This is Not true) He was not dishonest but just repeating what someone had told him.

Caution: We practice assembling together in-person. This website does not replace nor can it substitute for the assembling of ourselves together with others to exhort one another in the WORD and to provoke one another unto love and good works . Hebrews 10:23-27
We desire that this website encourage believers in personal devotions and worship as we are conformed to Christ’s image.
"For whom God did foreknow he did also predestinate to be conformed to the image of his son." Romans 8:29
An in-person assembly of believers, gathered to praise and worship the Lord Jesus Christ should never be supplanted or replaced. Such gathering to worship may come through the Hearing and heeding of Gospel preaching, congregational singing of sacred hymns, the reading of God’s Word, sharing Christian fellowship, public prayer, and also be where assembled believers can consider and exhort one another in the Word, and provoke one another to be fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
Virtual digital communication can never replace the assembling of ourselves together because it doesn’t allow for personal or emotional interaction, an investment in the spiritual welfare and growth of others, nor a commitment of personal or vulnerability, and cannot replace the comfort of a human touch. e.g. Laying on of hands, the right hand of fellowship, a holy kiss etc.

As Jon remembered veterans, we remember him: Jon Edward Riley (1971-2021) who would, on occasion, just bust-out singing the following songs; sometimes, on the way to church sometimes just singing along with the Elvis Gospel CD that was always kept in the truck’s CD player or,
even better, a song the Lord would spontaneously put in his joyful and loving heart.
I LOVE You Lord by Jared Reynolds
How Great Thou Art with Elvis
Lead Me & Rock-a My Soul by Elvis and friends
…Jon always said “Later”; as in [see’ya later] instead of “good bye”. It was his unique way to bid farewell … He would never say “good-bye”. Now, remembering the sound of his voice saying “Later”, it rings true with a new and deeper meaning and it brings a joyfulness and comfort to the hearts of those he loved so well; those who love him still, and always will.
… we are reminded of the promise of the Hymn:
’Till We Meet Again. Amen.

Sudden and Unexpected Conversions Luke 23:42 with Dr. Peter Masters, Pastor
As Christ hung on the cross in agony of body and soul, making atonement for all who would be saved, a criminal being executed alongside Him began to see Him in a new light, and yielded his life to Him. Here is that 'model' conversion, and what was involved [Remember me”]Thy Hand Was Heavy Upon Me Psalm 32:3-4 by Charles H. Spurgeon

Long before the Conservative Resurgence, Dr. R.G. Lee was the Southern Baptist champion of biblical infallibility and inerrancy. In his sermon, “The Word of God – Not Broken and Not Bound,” published in 1930, in which Dr. Lee stated the following regarding the HOLY BIBLE: (KJV)
“All [Prophets and Apostles] who wrote are immortalized by their writing of this great Book, supernatural in origin, divine in authorship, human in penmanship, infallible in authority, infinite in scope, universal in interest, personal in application, regenerative in power, inspired [God breathed] in totality.”
Dr. R.G. Lee preached a much requested sermon called Payday Someday over 1,000 times.
Why was it so powerful? Why was it requested and preached so many times?

A Description of Conversion For All Time
Over nearly three years the disciples learned from Christ and came to love him, need him, and recognise him as divine. But for most, personal conversion came late in this period. Peter's vital response is a model and challenge to seekers in every age.

SACRED LITERATURE:
THE PILGRIM’S PROGRESS by John Bunyan is the most famous Allegory, world-wide and the Most widely Published Book of all time and was printed in over 200 Languages. It has NEVER, since 1698, been out-of-print.
Only The King James Bible was more widely published than The Pilgrim’s Progress.
ONLINE PRINT LIBRARY: (No Enrollment Fee or Registration required)
BUNYAN’S ORIGINAL of 1678: The Pilgrim’s Progress Published in 1853 by Logos
REVISED VERSION: The Pilgrim’s Progrefs [sic] 1999 by Barry E. Horner
OLD ENGLISH PRINT: The Pilgrim’s Progress Part II AKA Christiana
(Christian’s wife, Christiana and children; their dangerous journey, and safe arrival at the desired country.)
Pilgrim Progress is the world’s most famous Allegory, It and the Bible were commonly the only books to be found in the cabin of early American Settlers and were loved and read more than any book, second only to the Holy Bible. It’s also considered, by some, as being the world’s first English novel. It’s likely the most published book other than the Bible of all time. There were 1,300 editions printed before 1938, 250 years after the Bunyan’s death. Hence, the world’s most famous Allegory.
Comment on Pilgrim’s Progress by Charles H. Spurgeon from the Spurgeon Sermon
“Christ in You”.
Spurgeon: Christ in us is Christ reigning." reminds me of Mr. Bunyan’s picture of [the town of] Mansoul, …when the Prince Immanuel laid siege to it, and Diabolus from within the city strove to keep him out. It was a, hard time for Mansoul then; but when at last the battering rams had broken down the gates, and the silver trumpets sounded, and the prince’s captains entered the breach, then on a day the prince himself did ride down the city’s streets, while liberated citizens welcomed him with all their hearts, hung out all their streamers, and made the church towers rock again as the bells rang out merry peals [happy melodies] , for the king himself was come. Up to the castle of the heart [main castle] he rode in triumph, and took his royal throne to be henceforth the sole lord and king of the city.
Christ in you is a right royal word. Christ swaying his scepter from the center of your being over every power and faculty, desire and resolve, bringing every thought into captivity to himself, Oh, this is glory begun, and the sure pledge of heaven. Oh, for more of the imperial sovereignty of Jesus, The Messiah; our liberty to be absolutely under his sway.
Spurgeon Sermon: Christ in You, Preached May 13, 1883 Scripture: Colossians 1:27 From: Metropolitan Tabernacle Pulpit, Volume 29 (cit. II. THE SWEETNESS OF THIS MYSTERY, WHICH IS CHRIST IN YOU, § 5)
You may choose to read, listen or share Pilgrim’s Progress with your little ones as a bed time story. It will bless, strengthen, encourage and instruct pilgrims of all ages and will create precious and enduring memories in little ears.
Spurgeon read it for the first time as a precocious five year old reader and would returned to read it over 100 times during the course of his remarkable ministry as a Baptist pastor who is known as The Prince of Preachers .

PRAYER 22, Part 11
THE PRESENCE OF GOD
Part 11 of 11
11 God bless our country! God save our Sovereign [Republic and U.S. President]! Grant guidance at this time to all with regard to the political affairs of this nation. Grant Thy blessing to all ranks and conditions of men, and let every nation call Thee “blessed” Let all tongues speak the name of Jesus and all men own Him as Lord and King. We ask it in His name. Amen. [I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.] (Complete Prayer is attached in e-mail: PRAYER 22.doc)
ANECDOTE 316: Prayer About Common Mercies. [Repeated]
SFX: A Raven’s Cry (click for audio of Raven calls)
Though your prayer should only be about worldly things, and be nothing more than a merely natural prayer, yet pray it ; for “He heareth [hears] the young ravens when they cry,” and I am sure they do not pray spiritual prayers. All that ravens can ask for will be worms and flies, and yet he hears them, and feeds them; and you, a man, though you may but pray at this time for a very commonplace mercy, one of the slighter [lesser] blessings, yet you may pray with confidence if you have any faith in the gracious Lord.
FAITH’S CHECKBOOK C.H. Spurgeon 1834 - 1892
GOD HIMSELF SHALL WORK
-Now will I rise, saith the Lord; now will I be exalted; now will I lift up myself- Isaiah 33:10
-Ahora me levantare, dice Jehova; ahora sere ensalzado, ahora sere engrandecido- Isaias 33:10
When the spoilers [enemy] had made the land as waste [destroyed it] as if devoured by locusts [swarms of flying insects], and the warriors who had defended the country sat down and wept like women, then the Lord came to the rescue. When travelers ceased from the roads to Zion, and Bashan and Carmel were as vineyards from which the fruit has failed [suffering crop failure], then the Lord arose. God is exalted in the midst of an afflicted people, for they seek His face and trust Him. He is still more exalted when, in answer to their cries, He lifts up Himself to deliver them and overthrow their enemies.

MORNING June 18
"Thy Redeemer." —Isaiah 54:5
–Tu redentor–—Isaías 54:5
JESUS, the Redeemer, [the Deliverer who made the sacrifice and paid the ransom for sinners] is altogether ours and ours forever.
He makes the unsullied [unspoiled] garment of his life our covering beauty; the glittering virtues of his character our ornaments and jewels; and the super-human meekness of his death our boast and glory.

EVENING June 18
"I am come into my garden, my sister, my spouse." —Song of Solomon 5:1
—YO vine á mi huerto, oh hermana, esposa mía—Cantares 5:1
THE heart of the believer is Christ's garden. He bought it with His precious blood, and He enters it and claims it as His own. A garden implies separation. It is not the open common [park]; it is not a wilderness; it is walled around, or hedged in.
Would that we could see the wall of separation between the church and the world made broader and stronger. It makes one sad to hear Christians saying, "Well, there is no harm in this; there is no harm in that," thus getting as near to the world as possible. Grace is at a low ebb [poor condition] in the soul [person] that can even raise the question of how far it may go in worldly conformity.
MISSION PURPOSE & A SINNER’S PRAYER:
Our aim is to trust and obey the Lord Jesus Christ in everything. We rely wholly upon the Holy Spirit to impart God’s divine revelation to us from His Word, the Holy Bible. With God’s help, we will follow Jesus. We expect that lost souls will be saved, believers, comforted, strengthened and encouraged. To God be all the glory.
The Bible is God’s divinely inspired [God breathed] revealed, infinite, eternal, inerrant, infallible, immutable Word to all mankind. This divine, supernatural Word brings all revealed truth to the world. We purpose, therefore, to follow God’s Holy Word, Personal guidance and guidance to the local church comes by His Word.
Hence, we resolve, God helping us, to read, study, meditate-on, trust-in and obey God’s revealed and divinely preserved Word, holding it to be the supreme authority and the only divinely established Stare Decisis [Latin: to stand by that which is decided] in all things.
Therefore, the purpose of The John Mark Publishing Company is to publish and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every creature, ministering God’s love to all, especially those in the household of faith. The Bible is God’s everlasting, inspired, (God breathed) inerrant, infallible, unchangeable, divinely protected and preserved Word of love and salvation to the entire world. It is also the essential foundation of this ministry.
History: The inspired preaching, teaching and writing of Charles Haddon Spurgeon is all empowered by God’s revealed Word the Bible. His written publications continue to benefit readers through authentic Gospel preaching and sound biblical teaching. This ministry continues to flourish from (Spurgeon’s) Metropolitan Tabernacle, a church fellowship that was begun in 1650. The building was constructed by members of the congregation in 1861.
We present Spurgeon's printed materials for the edification of the church body as well as for the benefit, blessing and gospel challenge to all readers. Our desire is that the written Word of God will become the Living Word in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ to each and every reader.
To this end, DailySpurgeon.com is offered to encourage and provide opportunity to hear Gospel preaching, and to engage in daily devotional meditation, Bible study and prayer. Careful adherence to Spurgeon’s calendar and original, unabridged text is given herein.

These publications were written by Charles Haddon Spurgeon 1834-1892.
No servant of God has left a greater legacy of presenting the Gospel to the world in the English language. (Now translated into many other languages) Spurgeon is widely read with great benefit. He is the beloved pastor and founder of the Metropolitan Tabernacle in London, England, still thriving TODAY. You’re invited to Live-stream worship services from London with Dr. Peter Masters, pastor from 1960 to the present.
Prayer: Dear Lord, empower your ministry to win many souls, and serve those in need, especially those in the household of faith, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
Disclaimer: The John Mark Publishing Company does not solicit praise of Charles H. Spurgeon or his writing or preaching. He didn’t need or want it then and wouldn’t desire it now. Our aim is to lift up and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and to preach HIM only and him crucified.
Precaution: These Messages and prayers will not substitute for continual fellowship with the Lord Jesus nor gathering for corporate worship. Neither do they replace personal reading, meditation, prayer and fasting over God's divinely preserved and eternal Word.
The Authorized King James version (AKJV), also known as the Authorized Version (AV), is the preferred English Bible because it is rendered [translated into English] accurately and faithfully from the Greek Textus Receptus [received text] and the Hebrew Masoretic Text that bring the greatest glory to God and thereby avoids doctrinal error, inaccuracies in translation, editorial changes or ambiguous readings found in other translations. It is distinguished further by the requirement of Great Brittan that all King James bibles be printed only by the Cambridge University Press, the Crown’s authorized printer. No other [person or publisher] may print, copy or import the King James Bible into Great Brittan by order of the Crown.
Printed Prayer: Printed prayers must not be read or offered as a substitute for personal, fervent, effectual, heart-felt, prayer. They are offered, rather, to warm the hearts of those who will presently seek a season of fervent, authentic two-way, heart-to-heart fellowship and prayer with the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. Authentic revelations from God during prayer are always consistent with His revealed Word, the Bible.
Preaching Preparation: When preparing to preach from a specific, scriptural text, please enter the text reference if you would like us to send you a Spurgeon Sermon from the same text.
My Prayer: Dear Father, is that You would touch, lift up, encourage and teach all who faithfully minister your Word. Bless all who minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ. May Your blessing and holy anointing fall fresh upon each dear reader and abide with each one who rightly divides and faithfully proclaims Your Word [The Bible]. Please save many souls; and may all be glory be yours alone. I pray this in the name of our Redeemer, The Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

A SINNER’S PRAYER … FOR WHOSOEVER:
Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21
Pray and call on the name of the Lord Jesus and be saved … won’t you?
“Lord Jesus, I’m a lost sinner hopeless without You. I would never be able to save myself. Without your death on the cross to pay my sin debt I would be condemned to spend eternity condemned in Hell. By nature and practice I am a natural-born sinner. I’m totally depraved and I sin because I am a sinner. Please forgive me.
I realize that doing my best or being as good as possible, or being better than other people or having good excuses can never save me.
I look to You, alone Lord Jesus to save me.
I call on You, by name, Lord Jesus, right now to save me. You died on the cross in my place to pay for my sin. Your Word says, “It shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21. Thank You, Lord.
Right now, I surrender my sinful self to You, just as I am, Lord Jesus. I trust You to forgive me and save me and be my Lord and Savior.
Please forgive me for all my sins. I’m sorry for every sin (bad thoughts, words and things I have done) and look to You to forgive me of them all. I need your strength to overcome sin’s temptations. Thank you for forgiving me.
You paid the price for all of my sins by dying on the cross.
Thank you Lord Jesus that You loved me and died for me before I was born and that You still love me.
Thank you, Heavenly Father, that You have made the way to save me and have drawn me away from sin and death into Life in Your only begotten son, the Lord Jesus. He took my place, suffered and died for punishment that I deserved.
Thank You, Heavenly Father that you raised Jesus from the dead. He is ALIVE and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave. In Christ Jesus there is therefore now no condemnation.
Thank You for saving me heavenly Father and for the Holy Spirit you send for my guidance, comfort and instruction into all truth, Amen.”
With all my heart, I thank you Lord Jesus for saving me. In your name, Lord Jesus I pray, Amen.
Please allow us to celebrate your new birth with you and the angels in heaven who are celebrating by writing to: The John Mark Publishing Company, PO BOX 21, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92693, U.S.A. or e-mail: dailyspurgeon@aol.com .
Ministry Support: God provides for His work. Amen.
The Apostle Paul’s prayer of blessing for the Philippian believers who supported him when he was in the Thessalonian jail is recorded in the Bible, Philippians 4:16. We are grateful to God for His provision, not because we desire a gift but we desire fruit that may abound to your account.
Look at Paul’s words:
… “I desire fruit that may abound to your account.”
"For even in Thessalonica [where I was jailed] ye sent once and again unto my necessity. Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account. Philippians 4:16.
18 But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, a sweet fragrance, a sacrifice acceptable, well-pleasing to God. 19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. 20 Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Philippians 4:18-20.
Salute every saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren which are with me greet you. All the saints salute you, chiefly they that are of *Caesar’s household [the local fellowship]. “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.” Philippians 4:21-22
* Not only were new converts won to the truth in Caesar's household, but after their conversion they remained to serve the Lord in that household.
They did not feel at liberty to abandon their post of duty merely because their surroundings were no longer comfortable. They remained there, out of their comfort zone, testifying to the transforming power of faith in Jesus Christ. The truth had found them there, and there they would serve as new, born-from-above believers.
We pray that fruit will indeed abound to your account according to God’s word, in Jesus name, Amen.

Pray also that all believers will faithfully and rightly divide [proclaim, preach and share] God’s inerrant, everlasting and immutable Word, the Bible, divinely inspired [God breathed] by God the Holy Spirit and preserved forever by God almighty, for the entire human race.
Pray too, that we freely share the good news that Jesus suffered and died on the cross to provide eternal salvation for all that would believe in Him. And Pray that all redeemed, blood-bought children of God faithfully minister the gospel [good news] to everyone everywhere in the name of Jesus the Christ [Anointed Messiah], Amen.
