DEVOTION for October 7th   2025

_________________________________________________

Note: The New King James Version NKJV and all versions  that are NOT  translated from  the Textus Receptus [Received Text] are  inferior to the  translations of the  1769 [1611] King James Version, KJV and the Geneva Bible.  Only these two translations have remained  faithful to the traditional Textus Receptus.

Only the Textus Receptus [Received Text] is sustained by more than 5,321 Majority Greek Text MT Manuscripts and  are in agreement with one another 99% . ALL OTHER readings have as their primary Greek source either Westcott and Hort’s or Nestle and Aland’s, Greek Texts  fabricated from only a handful [45] of Majority Text Manuscripts and  lack the  trustworthiness produced in  the inspired 1769 [1611] King James Version, KJV and the Geneva Bibles; the only two translated from the reliable, inspired  and divinely protected Textus Receptus.

The Bridge to Babylon video presents historical evidence that accounts for the explosion of over 100 different  English version translations  of the Bible. The continuing attempts to replace, add or take away from the 1769 King James Version of the Holy Bible can not  prevail because GOD Himself preserves and protects His inspired Holy Words

from all heresy, blasphemy, confusion , error additions, subtractions and changes.

Is the website DAILYSPURGEON  trustworthy?

Is it of God?

1 John 4:1-3

Beloved ones, don’t be believing every spirit [everyone or everything] you hear but be testing the spirit [voice] whether it is of God: because many false prophets have gone [come] out into the world. Here’s how you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit [voice] that confesses [avows] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh, having come[who came] out of God, is of God: and every spirit that confesses not [doesn’t audibly avow] that Jesus Christ is come [is here] in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

I hereby confess  that Jesus Christ is come   [is here] in the flesh.

[All translations of the Bible that use a Greek text other than the traditional and reliable Textus Receptus ignore the word “ictin” (the Greek word that means “is” in English).  This omission causes “is here” to  change its  meaning from “is come” [is here] to “has come”.

This error is self-evident as non-believers, false prophets and even heretics can, and frequently  do, declare that He “has come” [in the flesh.

While this is a true statement when taken at face value, the  meaning  “has come” is clearly not the same as “is here”; the valid test to discern between the Spirit of God and the spirit of antichrist.

The most well documented fact in all of  recorded human history is that Jesus Christ [Messiah]  “has come” in the flesh. The essential question, however, is not whether the spirit [words or person] being tested confesses that Jesus Christ “has come” in the flesh but, whether Jesus Christ, “is here”, [present tense] (NOW) from God, in the flesh.

Ephesians 5:30-32

30 for we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32

This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

Compare, here, scripture with scripture: “I speak concerning Christ and the church.” [the fleshly embodiment, here, of the body of Christ].

PRAYER 11,  Part  7 of 10 October 7th
UNDER THE BLOOD

But we cannot leave off [conclude] our prayer when we have prayed for Thy people, though we have asked large things; we want Thee to look among the thousands and millions round about us who know Thee not [don’t know Thee].
Lord, look on the masses who go nowhere [don’t gather together] to worship. Have pity upon them; Father forgive them, for they know not what they do.

Give a desire to hear Thy Word. Send upon the people some desire after their God.

[I pray this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ] Amen.

ANECDOTE 67: October 7th    Christ, the Sinner’s Only Physician.

Suppose that a man has heard of a great physician who understands his complaint [illness]. He has traveled a great many miles to see this celebrated doctor; but when he gets to the door they tell him that he is out.

“Well,” says he,

“then I must wait till he is in.”

“You need not [don’t have to] wait,” they reply, “his assistant is at home.” The suffering man, who has been often disappointed, answers,

“I do not care about his assistant, I want to see the man himself:  mine is a desperate case, but I have heard that this physician has cured the like [same kind of illness I have] ;

I must, therefore, see him. No assistants for me.”

“Well,” say they, “he is out; but there are his books ;  you can see his books.”

“Thank you,” he says,  “I cannot be content with his books, I want the living man and nothing less.  It is to him that I must speak, and from him I will receive instructions”.

“Do you see that cabinet?” “Yes”.  “It is full of his medicines”.

The sick man answers,

“I dare say they are very good, but they are of no use to me without the doctor: I want their owner to prescribe for me, or I shall die of my disease.”

“But see,”; cries one,  “here is a person who has been cured by him, a man of great experience, who has been present at many remarkable operations. Go into the inquiry-room with him, and he will tell you all about the mode of cure”.

The afflicted man answers,

“I am much obliged to you, [thank you very much]  but all your talk only makes me long [all] the more to see the doctor.   I came to see him, and I am not going to be put off with anything else. I must see the man himself, for myself.

He has made my disease a specialty; he knows how to handle my case, and I will stop [at nothing] till I see him.”

Now, dear friends, if you are seeking Christ, imitate this sick man, or else you may be sure you will miss the mark altogether.

FAITH’S CHECKBOOK  October 7th   ALWAYS FIRST IN FELLOWSHIP C.H. Spurgeon

-He goeth [goes] before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him, as he said unto you-  Mark 16:7
-El va antes que vosotros a Galilea: alli le veréis, como os dijo- Marcos 16:7

Where He appointed to meet His disciples, there He would be in due time; Jesus keeps His tryst [appointments].  If He promises to meet us at the mercy-seat, or in public worship, or in the ordinances, we may depend upon it that He will be there.  We may wickedly stay away from the appointed meeting-place, but He never does.

He says, -Where two or three are met [gathered] together in my name, there am I- ; he says not  [doesn’t say]  -There will I be [I will be there]  ,- but, -I am there already.-

Jesus is always first in fellowship: -He goeth [goes] before you.- His heart is with His people, His delight is in them, He is never slow to meet them. In all fellowship He goeth [goes] before us.   But he reveals Himself to those who come after Him: -There shall ye see him.-  Joyful sight! We care not to see the greatest of mere men, but to see HIM is to be filled with joy and peace.   And we shall see Him, for He promises to come to those who believe in Him, and to manifest [reveal] Himself to them.

Rest assured that it will be so,

for He does everything according to His word of promise:  -As [Just like] he said unto you.-   Catch at [hold on tight to] those last words, and be assured that to the end He will do for you -as he said unto you. –

Prayer: Thank You Lord that You go ahead of us to prepare the way for us and for Your eternal faithfulness to us  and that You died  in my place to save me.  I trust You, Lord Jesus, Amen.

… and pray for many souls to be saved and become fully devoted followers of  Jesus Christ [The Messiah]

The Lord … is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.  2 Peter 3:9

Pray also that believers will be led by the Holy Spirit to rightly divide and proclaim God’s eternal Word providentially protected and preserved by God, Himself.

God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten [divinely fathered] Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have  everlasting life. John 3:16

vis. The Textus Receptus TR [Received Text] is the Greek Translation that was faithfully taken from the overwhelming majority of the 5.321 extant Greek Manuscripts of the New Testament and The Masoretic Hebrew text MT meticulously hand-copied [manuscript] of the Old Testament Hebrew without  the inferior and erroneous  Sinaiticus and Vaticanus codices that are often in disagreement with one another. Never the less, they are found in modern textual criticism as a rationale for the creation of the huge explosion new Bible translations  based on the false assumption that older manuscripts are de facto better  Manuscripts.

Actually the unsettled changes, reflect doctrinal ambiguities that are used to support secular or denominational biases.

For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in Heaven. Psalm 119:89

MORNING   October 7th
"Wherefore hast [why have] Thou afflicted Thy servant?"— Numbers 11:11
—¿Por qué has hecho mal [aflicción] á tu siervo?—  Números 11:11

OUR heavenly Father sends us frequent troubles to try [test] our faith. If our faith be worth anything, it will stand the test. Gilt [paper-thin gold used in gilding] is afraid of fire, but [pure] gold is not: the paste [fake] gem dreads to be touched by the diamond, but the true jewel fears no test.

It is a poor faith which can only trust God when friends are true, the body full of health, and the business profitable; but that which holds by the Lord's faithfulness when friends are gone, when the body is sick, when spirits are depressed, and the light of our Father's countenance [face] is hidden is true faith.  A faith which can say, in the direst trouble,

"Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him,"

is heaven-born faith.  The Lord afflicts His servants to glorify himself, for He is greatly glorified in the graces of His people, which are His own handiwork. When "tribulation worketh [works] patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope,"

the Lord is honored by these growing virtues.

We should [would] never know the music of the harp if the strings were left untouched; nor enjoy the juice of the grape if it were not trodden [stomped into juice] in the wine-press; nor discover the sweet perfume of cinnamon if it were not pressed and beaten; nor feel the warmth of fire if the coals were not utterly consumed [burning brightly]. The wisdom and power of the great Workman [The Lord Jesus] are discovered by the trials through which His vessels of mercy [his children] are permitted to pass.

Present afflictions tend also to heighten future joy. There must be shades in the picture to bring out the beauty of the lights. Could we be so supremely blessed in heaven, if we had not known the curse of sin and the sorrow of earth? Will not [Won’t] peace be sweeter after conflict, and rest more welcome after toil? Will not [Won’t] the recollection of past sufferings enhance the bliss of the glorified?

There are many other comfortable answers to the question with which we opened our brief meditation; let us muse [meditate] on it all day long.

EVENING      October 7th
"Now on whom dost thou [do you] trust?"— Isaiah 36:5
—¿Digo ahora bien, ¿en quién confías?—  Isaías 36:5

READER, this is an important question. Listen to the Christian's answer, and see if it is yours.

"On whom dost thou [do you] trust?"

"I trust," says the Christian, "in a triune [Three-in-One] God.

I trust the Father, believing that He has chosen me from before the foundations of the world;
I trust Him to provide for me in providence, to teach me, to guide me, to correct me if need be, and to bring me home to His own house where the many mansions are.

I trust the Son. Very God of very God is He—the man Christ Jesus.
I trust in Him to take away all my sins by His own sacrifice, and to adorn me with His perfect righteousness.
I trust Him to be my Intercessor, to present my prayers and desires before His Father's throne, and
I trust Him to be my Advocate at the last great day, to plead my cause, and to justify me. I trust Him for what He is, for what He has done, and for what He has promised yet to do.

And I trust the Holy Spirit—He has begun to save me from my inbred [besetting] sins; I trust Him to drive them all out;

I trust Him

to curb my temper,

to subdue my will,

to enlighten my understanding,

to check my passions,

to comfort my despondency,

to help my weakness,

to illuminate my darkness;

I trust Him to dwell [live]  in me as my life, to reign in me as my King, to sanctify me wholly, spirit, soul, and body, and then to take me up to dwell with the saints in light for ever."

Oh, blessed trust! To trust Him

whose power will never be exhausted,

whose love will never wane,

whose kindness will never change,

whose faithfulness will never fail,

whose wisdom will never be nonplussed [utterly perplexed],

and whose perfect goodness can never know a diminution [reduction]!

Happy are you, reader, if this trust is yours! So trusting, you will enjoy sweet peace now, and glory hereafter, and the foundation of your trust will never be removed.

A SINNER’S  PRAYER

Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Acts 2:21

Pray and call on the name of the Lord Jesus.

“Lord Jesus, I’m a sinner. I’m lost and it’s hopeless for me to save myself. Without you and your death on the cross I would spend eternity in Hell.

I know that me doing my best or being good (in my own opinion)  and justifying my own behavior as "good"  or "OK"  can never be enough to save me.
I look to You, alone  Lord Jesus to save me.
I come to You   right now.  Lord Jesus. Will You  please save me.  I believe You died on the cross in my place to pay for my sin debt and put to death my sin nature. I know  You always keep your word.  Please save me. You have said and  it’s written in the Bible that you won’t reject anyone who comes to you. Thank You.

I  give myself completely to You, Lord Jesus. I’m sorry for every sin I’ve done and I now turn away from each one and look to You to forgive me, save me and deliver me from future evil.  Thank you for forgiving  all of  my sins by dying on the cross paying the punishment that I deserve.  I’m a sinner by nature and by my actions. But now I'm washed clean by Your blood that was shed for me at the cross.

Thank you Lord Jesus that You loved me and died for me before I was bor n and that You love me now and will always love me and will never reject or turn your back on me. I know You are the Way, the Truth and the Life and that no one can come to the Father other than by You.

Thank you Father that You have made a way for me to see myself as ungodly.  But,  because You are good You have made a way and given me the desire to come to You, to turn away from my sin and to trust in the Lord Jesus.  You have forgiven me because He took my place and You have provided for  me to be born again [born from above, born of the Holy Spirit].
You prompted this desire and faith to believe in Your only begotten Son who, gave up  His life and died on the cross to pay my sin debt, not mine alone, but the sins of the whole world.

Thank You, righteous Father of love that you allowed Jesus to suffer and die raised Jesus from the dead. He is ALIVE and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave and in Christ Jesus there is no condemnation. After You raised Him from the dead You gave Him a Glorified, [everlasting] physical body and  after he was seen by many witnesses on earth You took Him up to reign with  You  in heaven.

Thank you for saving me.  I pray this in the name, of Your only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ with a grateful heart.   Thank You for saving me heavenly Father and for the Comforter, The Spirit of Truth, for my guidance and solemn instruction into all truth.,  Amen.”

Thank You Holy Spirit of Truth, Comforter, Paraclete [one who comes along side]  for the new life in Jesus and victory that comes when I recon myself dead indeed unto sin and alive unto God through Christ Jesus our Lord trusting You, Holy Spirit for the execution of this vow.

 Romans 6:11

Thank you, Holy Spirit, that you always bear witness of and exalt the Lord Jesus.  John 16:8-11

With all my heart,   I thank you Lord for saving me.
Abide in me Lord Jesus in Your name I pray, Amen.

  4. Give Him the burden.  Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. Psalm 55:22]

 MISSION PURPOSE:
Our aim is to trust and obey the Lord Jesus Christ in everything. We rely wholly upon the Holy Spirit to impart God’s  divine revelation to us from His Word, the Holy Bible.  With God’s help, we will follow Jesus.  We expect  that lost souls will be saved, believers, comforted, strengthened and encouraged. To  God be all the glory.

The Bible is God’s divinely inspired [God breathed] revealed, infinite, eternal, inerrant, infallible, immutable Word to all mankind.  This divine, supernatural Word brings all revealed truth to the world. We purpose, therefore, to follow  God’s Holy Word, Personal guidance and guidance to the local church comes by His Word.

Hence, we resolve, God helping us, to read, study, meditate-on, trust-in  and obey God’s revealed and divinely preserved Word,  holding it to be the supreme authority and the only divinely established Stare Decisis [Latin: to stand by that which is decided] in all things.

Therefore, the purpose of The John Mark Publishing Company is to publish and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every creature, ministering God’s love to all, especially those in the household of faith.  The Bible is God’s everlasting, inspired, (God breathed) inerrant, infallible, unchangeable, divinely protected and preserved Word of love and salvation to the entire world.  It is also the essential foundation of this ministry.
History: The  inspired preaching, teaching and writing  of Charles Haddon Spurgeon is all empowered by God’s revealed Word the Bible.  His written publications continue to benefit readers through authentic Gospel preaching and sound biblical teaching. This ministry continues to flourish from  (Spurgeon’s)  Metropolitan Tabernacle, (Brief History) a church fellowship that was begun in 1650. The building was constructed by members of the congregation in 1861.

We present Spurgeon's printed  materials for the edification of the church body as well as for the benefit, blessing and gospel challenge to all readers. Our desire is that the written Word of God will become the Living  Word in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ to each and every reader.
To this end,  DailySpurgeon.com is offered to encourage and provide opportunity to hear Gospel preaching, and to engage in daily devotional meditation, Bible study and prayer. Careful adherence to Spurgeon’s calendar and  original, unabridged text is given herein.

The Authorized King James version (AKJV), also known as the Authorized Version (AV), is the preferred English Bible because it is rendered [translated into English] accurately and faithfully from the Greek Textus Receptus [received text] and the Hebrew Masoretic Text  that bring the greatest glory to God and thereby avoids doctrinal error, inaccuracies in translation, editorial changes or ambiguous readings found in other translations. It is distinguished further by the requirement of Great Brittan that all King James bibles be printed only by the Cambridge University Press, the Crown’s authorized printer. No other [person or publisher] may print, copy or import the King James Bible into Great Brittan by order of the Crown.

Printed Prayer: Printed prayers must not be read or offered as a substitute for personal, fervent, effectual, heart-felt, prayer. They are offered, rather, to warm the hearts of those who will presently seek a season of fervent, authentic two-way, heart-to-heart  fellowship and prayer with the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. Authentic revelations from God during  prayer are always consistent with His revealed Word, the Bible.

Preaching  Preparation:  When preparing to preach from a specific, scriptural text, please enter the text reference if you would like us to send you a Spurgeon Sermon from the same text.

My Prayer: Dear Father,  is that You would touch, lift up, encourage and teach all who faithfully minister your Word.  Bless all who minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ. May Your blessing and holy anointing fall fresh upon each dear reader and abide with each one who rightly divides and faithfully proclaims Your Word  [The Bible]. “Lord Jesus, I’m a lost sinner and without You I am hopeless.  I can’t save myself. Without your death on the cross to pay my sin debt I would be condemned to spend eternity condemned in Hell. My nature has been  self centeredness from birth.  Please forgive me.

You paid the price for all of my sins by dying on the cross.  Even the sins of the whole world.

Thank you,  Lord Jesus that You loved me and died for me even before I was born and that You still love me now. I love You too.

Thank you, Heavenly Father, that You called me away from sin and death into the Life everlasting  in Your only begotten son, the Lord Jesus.

Thank You, Heavenly Father that you raised Jesus from the dead. He is ALIVE and in Him we are victorious over sin, death and the grave. And, there is therefore now no condemnation in Christ Jesus.

Thank You for saving me heavenly Father and Holy Spirit for comfort and guidance revealing  all truth,

SACRED LITER[jM1] ATURE:

ORIGINAL: The Pilgrim’s Progress  Pub. by Logos,1853 from 1678 Original by John Bunyan

REVISED TEXT by Barry E. Horner: The Pilgrim’s Progrefs [sic]...

in Pilgrim’s Progress. (The World’s most widely circulated Allegory by John Bunyan, also credited, by some, as being the world’s first English novel.

IT’S FREE. No subscription required. You may choose to read at your own pace, or you may want to view DailySpugeon.com for daily encounters with Pilgrim.)

"Christ in us is Christ reigning." reminds me [Spurgeon's comment] of Mr. Bunyan’s picture of [the town of] Mansoul, …when the Prince Immanuel laid siege to it, and Diabolus from within the city strove to keep him out. It was a, hard time for Mansoul then; but when at last the battering rams had broken down the gates, and the silver trumpets sounded, and the prince’s captains entered the breach, then on a day the prince himself did ride down the city’s streets, while liberated citizens welcomed him with all their hearts, hung out all their streamers, and made the church towers rock again as the bells rang out merry peals [melody] , for the king himself was come. Up to the castle of the heart he rode in triumph, and took his royal throne to be henceforth the sole lord and king of the city.

Christ in you is a right royal word. Christ swaying his scepter from the center of your being over every power and faculty, desire and resolve, bringing every thought into captivity to himself, oh, this is glory begun, and the sure pledge of heaven. Oh for more of the imperial sovereignty of Jesus; it is our liberty to be absolutely under his sway.

ADULT AUDIO Episodes and CHILDREN’S VIDEO Story Parts:

You may choose to read or listen to Pilgrim’s Progress as a bed time story.

It’s the world’s most famous allegory and is the all-time, world-wide best seller second only to the Bible. Some believe it to be the world’s first novel written in English.

It will bless, encourage and instruct pilgrims (readers and seekers) of all ages for a life-time.
